I know everyone is quite superstitious on this board but I'm not so fuck it Grin it's a big secret my end..so I'm gonna let my wee boy do the big announcement - friend is a professional photographer and we're gonna go with something along these lines 😍

I LOVE that!! So cute x

Beardy1 · 18/04/2017 21:07

canthelp I love that idea. That is such a cool way!!

CantHelpDancingWithTheDevil · 18/04/2017 21:08

Thank you Grin..I've a toddler so I won't be buying much this time around; so this is my way of making this pregnancy be something different to my first, you know?

CantHelpDancingWithTheDevil · 18/04/2017 21:10

Also my son was 9lb 10oz - I kept all his newborn babygrows he didn't ever get in to 😭 they wouldn't have even gone over his head. Plus I'm not planning on finding out the sex, so just have a few basics in for the big day..still have cot and everything else, so I think a wee photoshoot will be lovely 😍

mamalovesviolet · 18/04/2017 21:13

Had an extra day off today and DD1 at nursery and I spent most of it in bed! It was lovely! I'm a bit worried about crazy levels of tiredness hitting me like last time. Does not help being woken up at 5.30 by the littlest one. Argh!

MaryShelley1818 · 18/04/2017 21:23

I'm the opposite...have terrible insomnia! Worried at lack of sleep and lack of sickness!

Marie90 · 18/04/2017 21:57

Urgh. Constipation. Any tips? Blush

glastogal · 18/04/2017 22:00

Lots of water Marie, lots of fruit and veg.. high fibre cereal/bran, brown rice instead of white, dried fruit. Get your feet up on a low stool when you use the loo!!

Mrsbluebell17 · 18/04/2017 22:32

Mummhenman you could seriously be describing me wth your worries and your constant thinking about it. I've been out for dinner this evening with someone who I haven't told and I kept thinking I could just blurt it out any second as it's just on my mind all the time, not that I want to tell this person yet but it's all I can think about.

Mrsbluebell17 · 18/04/2017 22:33

Canthelp that is the cutest idea.

How is everyone else planning to announce it when they do?

glastogal · 18/04/2017 22:38

I'm the same bluebell!! I told a friend the other day, even though I didn't really intend to (hopeless!)

I haven't given enough thought to how to spread the news. I'm going to congratulate my dad on his impending promotion to grandad.. other than that, I'm not sure! One sister is coming for dinner (Friday). The other lives in Canada. I'm thinking just straight out with it!! There will be no announcement on Facebook so I guess some people just won't find out until I'm massive (which might be soon if I don't get control of my eating!!)

What are you going to do??

TootsyBella84 · 18/04/2017 22:43

I've been doing some tie dye over the last couple weeks and for announcement I have a photo of t-shirts for the kids and a little Sleepsuit all matching 😍

Mrsbluebell17 · 18/04/2017 22:54

Glasto I'm the same. Just came straight out with it with those that know so far. I wanted to do something cute for telling everyone else after our twelve week scan and keep residing on Pinterest looking at ideas but can't decide on one.
It'll be about time for Father's Day when we've had our twelve week scan so we could tell FIL by getting him a grandad card instead of fathers one. My dad already knows though so it would just be for FIL.

Mrsbluebell17 · 18/04/2017 22:54

Tootsy that sounds amazing! Yay!

glastogal · 18/04/2017 23:18

Tootsy - that is so cute! 💕

Bluebell - I love that idea, but there is no way DP will want to wait until father's day to tell his folks!! He is desperate to spill the beans 😂

60percentbanana · 19/04/2017 05:43

I've told my mum, but dh hasn't told his side yet and will probably leave it til the last minute knowing him. I think he suspects that his side will possibly be judgmental as this is our fifth (do you not have a tv?! Etc) though the reality is that it's probably only his dad that would be less than impressed.

Personally I couldn't give a hoot, but it's a bit of a dampener for him to be any less than excited to tell everyone tbh.

Actually it's a lot of a dampener.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 19/04/2017 05:46

60 - sorry about that. People can be ridiculous.
My mum always worries about me in the early stages and seems confused that we want to go through it all again

MaryShelley1818 · 19/04/2017 06:02

Took two more tests and really wish I hadn't! The cheapie came up with 2 strong lines straight away but the CB Digi says 2-3....and I'm 5+4 so it should definitely be 3+ by now...I feel worried sick now 😞

MaryShelley those tests are nothing more than a gimmick, they aren't very accurate. If you look at the screenshots attached there is no way to accurately date a pregnancy using a single hcg level as they vary so widely from one woman to the next. Two different women could potentially have identical hcg levels in weeks 3-5 of their pregnancies, or weeks 4-5, 5-6, 6-7 etc.

The only relevance of hcg to the health of your pregnancy is whether the level rises as it should over time relative to itself. Please don't worry xxx

Thank you 60percent. I've just had so few symptoms this was supposed to reassure me.
I think they claim the weeks indicator is 92% accurate. My heart is actually pounding and I've googled and found out it was an early sign of mc for some. 😢
All I can think of is DP's mam made a cardigan yesterday and how devastated and disappointed they'll be in me if it doesn't work out.

amazingrobot · 19/04/2017 07:03

Hi Mary - don't panic yet. I have done exactly the same and my cb digi said 2-3 at 5+3. I also had some bleeding. This morning I did a frer and a cheapie (attached) and the lines are darkening and bleeding has stopped Hmm. Off for an early scan this am and I will let you know what I find. I have also attached the inside of my cb digi tests. This poas business really does make us crazy, but the top one is yesterday's that was showing 2-3. From what I've seen online, this is very similar line strength to 3+, so I'm clinging on to that.

All will become a bit clearer in a few hours.

The bottom digi inside is 1-2 btw. The others are progression but all said 2-3.

Beardy1 · 19/04/2017 07:11

amazing I have my fingers and toes crossed for you

glastogal · 19/04/2017 07:20

Wishing you a happy scan this morning amazing xx
