Hello all :) so just found out I am pregnant again :) had an early miscarriage in January and fallen on again, which is amazing. I am very anxious this time around and don't want to get too excited, but can't help myself. I also found being on here last time was actually a great help when it was taken away from me as people are so kind and it helps to talk, so if it does happen again I am in the right place xx anyway happy times now :) eeeeeek. Anymore early Decembers.
If there is already a group tell me and I can join that. X

Hi everyone, just thought I'd join in. Found out we were expecting our 2nd little bean on Thursday! EDD is 10th of December, making me 5+1 today ... all feels a little surreal! Wasn't really expecting it and the timing is a little off (handed my notice in at work the previous week!) Our son is 6 next month so a little bit of a gap, but I did want a bit of a gap ... he's going to be so chuffed. I had an early miscarriage last May, so I am a bit paranoid at the moment. I joined a forum when I was pregnant with my boy, and found it extremely helpful so thought I'd do so again, and hopefully will be able to share some of my motherly wisdom ha! Either that, or panic because I can't actually remember what happened last time as it was so long ago...
anyway....

Chamonix1 · 10/04/2017 10:48

Hi Kingbean and congratulations!
Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, so many ladies seem to have suffered the same, I'm lucky enough not to have gone through that (touch wood) and I'm still a paranoid mess so really feel for those of you that have.
I'm 6 weeks today and have a 4 year old so also have a gap. It's meant I'm less confident telling everyone else as don't want dd to know until I know it's all okay.
No symptoms yet, I too have forgotten when these kicked in last time. I feel like I've never done it before!
Hope everyone's okay today Smile

TootsyBella84 · 10/04/2017 10:51

Welcome King
I have 6 years between 1&2 and if this one sticks I will have just under 5 years between 2&3. I seem to be all about the gaps lol.

I'm constantly on knicker watch too. Glad I'm not the only one!

tuxie11 · 10/04/2017 10:55

Congrats guys Smile

I too am on knickerwatch, this is also my first too. I've got sore-ish boobs and a small bit of queasiness but that's all.

I've had to email the antenatal bookings as GP has nothing to do with it apparently apart from to ask 'are you happy' haha

Beardy1 · 10/04/2017 11:04

Hi kingbean welcome to the group and congrats. I'm sorry to hear about your MC. Those things definetly leave an everlasting scar.

tuxie my gp is a similar issue. Basically you ring up to book in with the midwife. They are adamant to wait till 8 weeks but luckily they are seeing me at 7 weeks as I wouldn't be able to go in till 11 weeks with work and lack of midwife appointments.

tuxie11 · 10/04/2017 11:14

beardy makes sense, glad you have an early scan. I noted that I wasn't sure and could either be dated 5 or 10 weeks so hoping they get in touch soon. Though I have just noticed I put down that I haven't been in the UK for over 12 months facepalm I'll have to make a note to tell them!

In other news, my memory has gone bloody shocking. I went to put a cup of tea in the fridge the other day Shock

goldielocks29 · 10/04/2017 11:20

Saw my GP today who was soo lovely! Makes a change because my old GP was bloody awful!

He's sent off my midwife referral and also a referral for an early scan because of my past ectopic.

I'm also on knicker watch, so happy that Others are too and I'm not acting too much like a crazy lady!

SamiZayn · 10/04/2017 11:47

Glad I'm not the only one knicker checking haha. Nice to see I'm not the only newbie too. Anyone else contemplating the possibility of a Christmas day baby? DD was nine days early so I'm thinking maybe not, but I could end up going overdue on this one if it sticks I suppose

glastogal · 10/04/2017 12:03

How long do they let you go overdue sami? I'm due on 1st Dec so I'm hoping I will get away without labour on Xmas day (but I honestly don't know!)

SamiZayn · 10/04/2017 12:20

I think they would induce after 12 days in my area, but it's optional, some women I think just opt for increased monitoring and leave it to nature if all looking OK, (that said I have never met any of these women in real life)

BirdBrain85 · 10/04/2017 12:47

Hi all,

Welcome and congratulations to all the new comers Smile

I was on knicker watch last week as I had some cramping pains, but that all seems to have settled down over the weekend.

I actually feel really normal today ... and that's making me nervous too so can't win! I did a test yesterday though and it was dark so I think I need to chill out!

That can't get much darker birdbrain - I think you might be pregnant 😆

Marie90 · 10/04/2017 13:07

Hi all, and welcome to the newbies who have joined over the last day or so!!

I went to the doctors today and she was so lovely. Wanted to check i wasn't putting the pregnancy at risk if i continued working at the moment (i have a very physically active job), but she seemed to think it would be fine, and is double checking with the midwives for me too!

Also got my pregnancy pack with a bunch of info, and signed up with the midwives who should give me a call in the next few weeks. It all suddenly feels so real!

BirdBrain85 · 10/04/2017 13:08

Glastogal hahaha! Do you know I think you might be right! Grin

Beardy1 · 10/04/2017 13:17

marie that's great. What a helpful go!! how many weeks are you?

WeShouldOpenABar · 10/04/2017 13:20

I've first doctor's appointment after work.

Feeling nauseous today and sore all over. Anyone got any remedies for the nausea, I can't be too obvious munching on dry crackers all day, I thought I'd get some peppermint capsules from Holland and Barrett later would they help

TipTop333 · 10/04/2017 13:39

Weshould I carry a packet of smints with me when out and about and if I'm feeling grim I'll pop one. Less inconspicuous than a dry cracker and seems to work!

SamiZayn · 10/04/2017 13:40

Those travel sickness bands are worth a try, maybe pull your sleeves down over them

WeShouldOpenABar · 10/04/2017 13:47

Thanks will give the smints a try, the bands never worked for my dire seasickness but its probably something different at play now so maybe worth a shot.

tuxie11 · 10/04/2017 14:05

Marie your GP sounds great!

Isn't it funny how antenatal care varies across the UK? I've never thought about it before in all honesty

Marie90 · 10/04/2017 14:06

Beardy I'm only 5 weeks today... I think it helped that i started my Coco with the gp by saying "i know its way to early to come here to talk about midwives but..." Lol!

And i have a huge amount of polos stashed all around the place to help with nausea! At work, in the car, in my bedside table! Less obvious then dry crackers imo!

Beardy1 · 10/04/2017 14:22

marie thanks for letting me know. It's great you got to see the gp and get the advice you need.

Marie90 · 10/04/2017 15:00

Beardy if you're looking to get an appointment but think it's too early then maybe try to ring the automated gp number...then you don't have to say why you want an appointment!! Wink

accidentalgrownup · 10/04/2017 15:55

Funny how it depends on your postcode....I'm 6 weeks tomorrow & it's my first midwife appointment, I did think it was a bit early but I'm not going to complain!

I do have a thyroid problem tho so had to tell my GP as soon as I found out as it can affect my meds.

Beardy1 · 10/04/2017 16:00

marie we don't have an automated system and you either have to book a drs appt 2 weeks in advance or request an emergency appointment on the day which the staff can be quite shirty about. I got so much hassle for booking my midwife appt at 7 weeks rather than 8 weeks even though I had good enough reason with not being available until week 11 due to work and the fact I've had a previous MC. Sometime you feel like the staff think pregnant woman are a nightmare!!
