Morning everyone,
weeonion, your commute sounds hideous - I moan about my bus ride but don't have to do any trudging... when do you get out of work?? - its my last day tomorrow - yay!
7 weeks/OMGHSAO: superb new name!
Seeing all the car seat stuff, don't be appalled but I've got a Jané auto carry cot because I have some mega long journeys planned and I want the LO to be lying down flat, although I have heard that this is not as safe in an accident.
However, I do have a maxi-cosi bucket seat for every day, kindly donated by my posh B and S IL who I have cunningly managed to follow in giving birth by six months!
So I have tons of organic cotton baby clothes and haven't bought anything, hooray!
Hi Katy44, Jessops has been all done up in the last couple of years, and has built in pools and stuff now - looking forward to 'stork walk' and hope there is a bit of screaming to intimidate dh who is way too confident having 'seen birth on TV'... ehehehe
Eca, what is your PHD in? I won't ask about the Norfolk thing,
Maveta and Claricebean, we spent nearly 3 years living in upcountry Almeria, running a B&B - which was very hard work, and we couldn't get anything to function properly...hot water challenges when you've got 10 adults in the house eating a three course dinner is the last thing you need - plus there was only only a trickle of electricity. It was pretty and peaceful though, and our Spanish neighbours were lovely and saved our asses many a time. Oh, plus it snowed both winters we were there and we coudln't afford to insulate the roof and put in central heating - it was 5 degrees in my bedroom for about 3 months.
Anyone who dreams of running a B&B in Andalucia, I can talk you out of it in no time!
Ironically we thought it would be a great place to have kids, but it was "hang on, I haven't had time to stop for that cup of tea I fancied 3 days ago, how on earth would I manage a baby?" Plus there were a few mosquitos, and I could deal with slathering myself in repellent - but didn't fancy having to net my children.
