Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! From morning sickness in the first trimester to the third trimester struggle of getting out of bed ( "walrus-ing"in our house), to actual real babies who are growing so fast! Discussion on the merits of sleepyhead and Ewan the dream sheep. Now into teething and sleep regression, how to manage our mothers/MILs whilst being sleep deprived.

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been over a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up for TTC #1 Grads!

Also, it's really hard to get Q to sleep. Lots of things that used to work don't work anymore.

Long walks in the pram (have to be long, she fights it at first) and being in the car are still ok, but I'm trying to find others!

LisaTheSimpson · 11/01/2017 21:36

And lastly (sorry for all the messages) - come to Facebook! Wink

Pinklily1 · 11/01/2017 22:18

I'm still here too soda!

That sounds hard going re the sleeping. Does she stop crying as soon as you pick her up?

IndiX · 12/01/2017 14:08

Soda I'm here too! Well I'm between both. Sorry she isn't sleeping, sounds so tough. I can't really help because you sound like you're doing everything that I would do. Have you thought about co-sleeping? I know when Autumn was very small I would sometimes just put her next to me in the bed after she'd fallen asleep on the boob. I didn't sleep amazingly well because I was aware of her next to me and the duvet etc but I did get some sleep!
Hope it improves soon x

Sodasoda · 12/01/2017 15:54

Thanks ladies. A surpassed herself last night going one 2 hour stretch and then doing 2 one hour stretches and the rest just 1.5 hours.

Lisa A also fights daytime naps like Q. The whole thing is exhausting. I'm hoping it's number 2 on your list of choices! Going to try her with a different formula (others have made her sick) so at least DH could do a turn in the night too.

Pink yes, stops crying as soon as I pick her up but wants to be fed but only for 5-10 minutes so really can't be very hungry! Settles back quickly again.

Indi thanks. We've got a next2me cot. I don't want A in bed with us - I wouldn't be able to relax and I feel it's not a habit I want to get into at this stage.

Zzzzzzzz

Feefeefs · 13/01/2017 21:39

That sounds really hard soda. We're trying a dummy for the inconsolable nighttime moments. Semi successful so far.

mayago · 14/01/2017 07:28

Agh, this newborn feeding stuff is taking up my entire life. We've gained 100g this week, so still not back to birth weight at 9 days in. And I still haven't weighed myself or looked down there with a mirror - I'm afraid of knowing the truth with both!

Adeline will not settle in her crib for all the Sleepyheads or Ewan the dream sheep in the world. She hates being on her back. My sister has been taking her for a couple of hours each night so I get some sleep, but she leaves on Tuesday. And OH goes back to work on Thursday. I've been in tears just thinking about it.

Off to find you all on Facebook. Hopefully it'll give me the boost I need to figure out my weight strategy.

IrregularCommentary · 14/01/2017 07:50

Soda T hit the 4 month sleep regression and just... broke as well. She stopped sleeping through the night and was feeding every 90mins/2hrs. It was such a shock to the system!

She's calmed down a little with it now and is waking once overnight for a feed and eating every 2-3hrs during the day, interval seems to depend on time of day.

Won't pretend it's as nice as we had before sleep wise but I've settled into it again and am not so knackered. She's also suddenly changed to be a lot more chilled in the day. Unless something is actually wrong, she's not whinging in the same way now.

Hopefully you get some of the good points too!

Developmentally, she's changing so much and is really learning and perfecting new skills, so #2 makes total sense to me.

May - can you pm your real name please? I'm not accepting any requests to the fb group without knowing the name - don't want to accidentally end up with random people!

Sodasoda · 14/01/2017 09:10

Thanks irregular. She managed 5 hours in a row last night which was amazing - first time she's managed more than 4 hours in 2 weeks! Yeah, she's like a different baby to a few weeks ago - so busy during the day and wanting to grab at everything etc. Lots of changes.

May it's completely normal but frustrating! Try a hot water bottle in sleepyhead plus something you've worn so smells of you. I also tried to make sure I put A down during the day in sleepyhead rather than just letting her sleep on me so she got more used to it.

I know you're all on FB now so don't want to hang around here like a bad smell Smile and make you feel like you have to come back and check up on me! I don't want to join FB for various reasons so I'll sign off and go and lurk somewhere else! Best of luck to all of you and your babies, you're all amazing ladies and I've enjoyed chatting and swapping stories with you for past year. Soda xx

Feefeefs · 14/01/2017 17:16

Aww May sounds so similar to us!! It took 14 days for Anna to get to birth weight. Now she's consistently gaining 200g plus per week, try not to worry too much. I didn't look below till 3 weeks!! It was fine! Took us awhile to sleep on her back too and a bit tricky at the moment with the reflux but she will do it, it will come!! I cried when DH went back to work!! Find a baby group/breastfeeding group and if you can try to get out of the house!! That's what helped me feel semi normal!! Don't worry about your weight!!

Glad you got 5 hours soda hope it's a sign of things improving again. I was planning on staying on both soda?

LisaTheSimpson · 14/01/2017 19:43

Soda and Irregular** - very good to hear from you both that the sleeping gets better after a bit if regression.

How long did it last for you both? We're coming up to two-three weeks of it now. Some stretches of 3 hours at night, but usually just 1.45-2 😭

BunchOfBobs · 14/01/2017 20:10

Ladies hello hello.
I've been awol since Christmas so sorry. I've been enjoying some family time. Just got told on IG about the FB group, how do I get on it?! I've requested to join. I'm Kim M

Welcome to the world Adeline and huge congrats Maya. What a beautiful name.

I'm struggling at the minute too sofa. Teething, upset nights and the next leap. Sad

LillianFullStop · 08/02/2017 14:51

Hi all - sorry haven't been around. I was abroad for 3 weeks in Jan on a family emergency and got back last week and have been dealing with a 15 week old's jet lag along with my own! Nightmare. It's been over a week since being back now and night sleeps are getting better but napping has turned into a nightmare - she screams and fights in anger. Curls her tongue as if starving for a feed even if she's fed and when I try to feed her she refuses the boob - what in the hell is going on!? Our usual sleep routine don't work anymore - Could it be the 4 month sleep regression - is 15 weeks about right? How many weeks is A soda?

I missed the whole migration to Facebook Confused. Also I think I missed a couple of arrivals - congrats on your new arrival may! And what a lovely name!

IrregularCommentary · 08/02/2017 21:51

Hey Lillian - sounds like you've been through it! If you want to join us over on fb, drop me a pm and I'll give you the details ☺

15w sounds about right for the 4 month wtf why are you broken?! sleep regression unfortunately. It's tough, but totally normal!

88claire · 20/02/2017 16:46

Hello Ladies,

Can I join? I got my second BFP last week after a miscarriage in early January (I conceived without a period inbetween somehow).

Went to the doctors earlier who was quite reassuring but I am still absolutely terrified!

Hope everyone is well!

LillianFullStop · 21/02/2017 09:41

Thanks irregular - I'm still deciding whether to join on fb!

88claire sorry to hear about be mc but congrats on the BFP! I had a mc for my first pg as well and the result of my second pregnancy is now 17 weeks old and fast asleep while I rush around doing errands and chores before she wakes up! A lot of the people on this thread have moved on to a Feb group so it will be a bit quiet - but there is another thread called TTC #1 Second Wave that is more active!

LillianFullStop · 21/02/2017 09:42

I meant fb group not Feb group! Autocorrect got me again...!

88claire · 21/02/2017 12:06

Lillian

Oh thankyou! I'll do that now!

So glad your second pregnancy went well! Something feels better this time so fingers crossed this one sticks!

LillianFullStop · 24/03/2017 09:41

I miss this thread! Ladies here got me through some good/tough times !

LillianFullStop · 24/03/2017 09:42

Happy Mothers Day for this weekend if anyone is still popping to check FlowersFlowersFlowers

IrregularCommentary · 24/03/2017 10:20

Just saw this pop up on Active - hello!

Happy Mother's day to you too - hope everything is going well?

We're still active over on fb, though I guess you've decided against it. There's a load of us on Instagram as well - just pm if you ever want details.

Everyone's doing really well - lots of us in the early stages of weaning so lots of mess and fun being had that way! Cannot believe how big all the babies are getting. The bfps seem like last week and also a lifetime ago.

LillianFullStop · 28/03/2017 17:28

Hi irregular!! We are well yes! M is now 5 months and yes will be weaning soon too! I'll PM you to get instagram details!
