Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! From morning sickness in the first trimester to the third trimester struggle of getting out of bed ( "walrus-ing"in our house), to actual real babies who are growing so fast! Discussion on the merits of sleepyhead and Ewan the dream sheep.

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

I want to go try on wedding dresses again now! Although, if I did, I would look like I'd had a chiffon based anaphylactic shock because im massive! Your dress sounds beautiful nev 👰

I'm so tired! Just keep thinking the being up all night will get me in good practice! I'm getting cramps, really low under bump pains (which must be baby headbutting my pelvis) back/hip pain and both fanny daggers and arse javelins! I'm not due till 23rd of Nov pink but I'm hoping it will be a bit sooner to be honest (but not next Wednesday when the Bishop is visiting my Dm, I've got to put in an appearance so if I do go into labour then he's seen me and my dm can ask for time off lol.)

OP posts:
Mileymoocow · 28/10/2016 14:12

nev that sounds beautiful! So what if it's a small wedding, you should be able to have what you want. Especially after birthing a child Wink we will be having a small wedding abroad, too. If OH EVER asks... I think he thinks because we've discussed plans that gives him a hall pass to skip the engagement. Fool.

irregular I will have to have my hair done soon, too. I'm only 26 and have recently noticed a strand or two of grey hair which I'm a bit pissy about. I have very dark hair, too, so it's really noticeable if you get your eye on one. OH will be on daddy duty and it'll be quite a test for him to have Harrison without me fleeing to the scene of a poo explosion or epic vomit.

I'm glad everyone else feels the same. I, in absolutely no way, am fed up of having my little monkey and I felt awful for actually saying the words 'I want a few hours away'. My mum will be more than happy to have him but it gets to her offering and I suddenly get cold feet. Stupid mummy mode kicks in Hmm

But look at how cute Grin

Mileymoocow · 28/10/2016 14:15

Audrey I remember thinking to myself that I couldn't wait to not be pregnant so I could sleep again. Hahahahahahaha! Not long til bubba stark is here and I'm so excited!

Ladies how much are you going to express for when you leave little ones? Harrison thinks nothing of guzzling 4oz then wanting boob so I fear I should be stocking up now for my hair appointment which isn't even booked yet incase I dare to be away and he manages to sink enough milk to feed the 5000

Sodasoda · 28/10/2016 15:38

Miley I'll probably leave 5oz but I don't think she'll drink that much. My appointment is 9.30am and I'll only be away from her for probably 3 hours at the most. I'll give her a good feed before I go and then my mum will loiter at a nearby coffee shop just in case! But usually when Alexa is in her pram she drops off and stays asleep so she may not need any milk at all! I guess it depends on the timing of your appt and Harrison's habits? Alexa tends to feed in the morning and feed LOADS in the evening but will generally nap quite a lot in the afternoon. But obviously I'd prefer to leave more milk than not enough.

Mileymoocow · 28/10/2016 17:06

Thanks soda that'll be probably how much I leave for Harrison. I'll definitely feed before I leave though and hopefully will only be an hour and a half.

Breastfeeding mums - Harrison just had his first non runny poo, it was more mushy pea texture. Anyone else experienced this? I'm used to it being liquid!

Pinklily1 · 28/10/2016 20:53

So exciting that you got a wedding dress Nev! Our wedding is in May too and it's scary how quickly time is going and how much we still have to organise!

miley, it's definitely ok to want time to yourself. I leave Evelyn at my parents house whilst I go for a run or to do the shopping. She also had a sleepover there when she was three weeks old as we had an engagement party to go to.

potato, out of interest how much is Arya drinking in her bottle now? We've just moved from the small 120ml bottles to the bigger ones, using 180mls at the minute. She has one bottle a day and the rest of the time she is boob fed.

audrey, your due date will be here in no time!

Pinklily1 · 28/10/2016 20:54

miley, we had a slightly thicker poo than usual after a period of constipation, but usually her poo is fairly runny.

IrregularCommentary · 28/10/2016 22:51

Tam's constipated at the moment because of the baby Gaviscon for her reflux. All her poos currently are mushy pea consistency and she's having a bit of trouble passing them.

Feefeefs · 29/10/2016 09:10

Congratulations Lillian!!

Haven't managed to fully catch up but

TODAY IS MOVING DAY!!! Have roped in a load of people so hopefully my uselessness won't be a big deal Confused

Also finished work yesterday, sick leave for two weeks then I will start maternity leave at 36 weeks (34 weeks Monday) so glad I finally decided.

Mileymoocow · 29/10/2016 10:25

irregular it would make sense then as Harrison has baby gaviscon too. It's turned him back to the baby we brought home - sleeping for 3 hours at a time, feeding for longer and so much more chilled on a night time.

pink you've shamed me into going for my first run since I started with my HG Blush you're like super mum.

Poor little man has conjunctivitis so we have drops for him which he absolutely hates. This is fun Hmm his little eye looks so gunky and sticky I feel so sorry for him. Think he caught it off my cousin as she has just text to say she has it too. We visited her on Thursday and hers started on Thursday evening. Harrison started yesterday Sad I must say the 111 service for babies is incredible. I called around half 8 last night to see if there was anything we could do other than cleaning and though the lady said they were extremely busy, they had him an appointment at 20 to 10!

Mileymoocow · 29/10/2016 10:27

feef yay for moving day! Hope everything runs smoothly and you've definitely played a blinder moving when pregnant! Grin make sure you do nothing other than make coffee. Also, brilliant that you're finished now, I definitely think that was the right decision

Sodasoda · 29/10/2016 21:11

Hope the move went well feefs and you successfully directed proceedings without doing any heavy lifting Wink

Miley Alexa had a really nasty / gungey looking eye the other week. I took her to GP as I was worried about conjunctivitis but they said it was a blocked tear duct so I've just been washing it with cooled boiled water. It seems fine now. Hope Harrison is ok, it must be difficult managing to give him eye drops!

BunchOfBobs · 29/10/2016 22:19

Miley re flu jab I'm asthmatic so always get one. Harrison looks so cute. Does he enjoy tummy time? Atticus hates it.
Mushy pea poo sounds like probably a reaction to the gaviscon. You said it can cause diarrhoea, it can also cause constipation so could just be it thickening up in response. Poor little man with conjunctivitis, hope it clears up fast.

I'm quite lucky and have my parents here overnight once a week so get a couple of hours to myself in the morning to nap and an hour to bath in the evening. So I really haven't felt the need to be away from him yet. I said whilst pregnant I would leave bubs with my parents whilst DH and I went to the cinema to see Inferno. Well that film is now out and I am no way ready for it haha. I guess I'll see it on DVD.

Woohoo to moving day Feefs, so glad you've decided to take the time off.

Well I've had my first pfb moment. Saw a what looked like a blister on little A's mouth, fully panicked it was a cold sore. Got an appointment, barely walked in to the appointment and was turned around pretty sharpish with a "it's a spot". Oops.
Started exercising today. So chuffed. Made it back onto the spin bike for the first time in forever. My ass hurts so much already ouch. Time to get back weight training soon. I miss doing chin ups, took me forever to build up the strength so I know it's a long road ahead but it's my target.

Potato thanks again for the humidifier tip, works a treat!!

London gals, anyone around and free the afternoon of the 11th of November? DH has a meeting and we're off for the weekend and I finally get to go to Harry Potter studios on the Saturday wahey. Anyhoo Atticus and I have few hours to kill on the Friday. I may have purchased items to create a completely HP themed outfit for the tour Hmm.....

PotatosMum · 30/10/2016 06:50

Bunch laughed at the spot incident poor little Atticus. It could have been anything lol.
Well done getting back on the spin bike. I'd like to get back on my running machine but it's buried under boxes Confused
Glad the humidifier works, just don't use it every night, I was doing that until I realised things were going the other way and it felt like we were sleeping in a tent Confused

Miley poor boy with conjunctivitis. With the drops, I don't know how you're doing it but can you lay him on his back and place them in the corners of his eyes ( next to his nose) and then make him blink? I imagine that would be less scared for him than having them directly in his eyes.
Aww Harrison looks adorable. Arya definitely doesn't look that chilled when I force her to do tummy time!!!

Feefs woohoo on moving, I hope all went well and yay for going on leave. I have to say I'm in awe of ladies who manage to stay in work until 37 or 38 weeks. If I'd left it much later than 31 they would have had to carry me out on a stretcher!!

Irregular poor Tam Sad

Pink During the day Arya has between 4 and 6oz every 3 hours or so between 9am and 9pm. At night she has about 6oz at 2am.

Audrey not long to go now! Has it hit you yet that any week now you'll have a real baby?

Nev your dress sounds lovely as does your wedding plans. Assuming OH ever gets round to asking well be having a tiny wedding too... In the back garden!

Things have been a lot more relaxed and happy here since Friday morning (when DSD went home) I think that might be part of the reason things were so tense. I don't know why but since we've moved from the flat she's been trying to separate her dad from me and his two other children so often she follows him around like a lost sheep and keeps trying to entice him into her room. All the while she barely talks to me. It makes for a very tense atmosphere. I suppose it's the addition of Arya, she's no longer the baby of the family so she feels she needs to fight for attention. I just hope it calms down as it's quite uncomfortable.

We've spent the past few days putting up OHs log cabin. We just need to paint it and put the roof and floor on. One of my friends who helped us build yesterday is popping around today with a paint gun so that we can use that to get a good coat on. Both OH and I are feeling a bit broken now. We tag teamed a little so that OH wasn't doing all the heavy lifting but as a result both of us now have bad backs Confused

My tree decal for the nursery finally arrived so next week I'll hopefully be putting it up Grin

Mileymoocow · 30/10/2016 08:40

bunch that sounds so amazing I'm slightly jealous! I really wish I was in London because I'd love to see Atticus dressed up Grin

Thanks potato, luckily we're managing the eyedrops OK as he's so nosy his eyes are usually wide open and fixated on something! It's clearing up so well with the drops and he isn't as gunky today

Useless OH strikes again. He did his first ever night feed (other than last feed before bed) baby was crying for food so he decided to go for a pee first then took ages to get the bottle, by which time I'd had to pick little man up to console him so I might as well have done the feed myself. Then asked me to take Harrison to him in the nursery so he could get sat down ShockAngry I said no, that he'd have to learn and that the whole point in him doing this feed was so I had a few hours of unbroken sleep. He then didn't use a bib and milk got everywhere Hmm all while continuously asking me questions. So what was the point in him doing a feed. THEN he told me Harrison had finished the full 5oz which was brilliant, so imagine my surprise when 45 mins later he woke again for a feed only to find an oz and a half left in the bottle in the nursery. Fucking hell. This is his only day off after doing overtime yesterday so I was exhausted and was looking forward to the help. He's now fast asleep while I'm downstairs with wide awake baby.

Sorry for the ranting but if I don't do it here i honestly think I would blow up at him.

marmitecheesetoast · 30/10/2016 09:03

Congrats on the move feef hope it all went well and doesn't take you too long to get sorted! Sounds like good news on finishing now too.

Bunch that sounds amazing, especially Atticus' HP outfit!!

Wedding dress sounds gorgeous Nev how exciting!

Urgh Miley that's so frustrating. Is he maybe just very unsure of himself? Hope the conjunctivitis clears up soon.

We had a kitchen planning appointment at Ikea yesterday which is super exciting! Yay for soft-close drawers and clever storage solutions! We have so much to sort out with the house nevermind baby stuff at some point too though it is all feeling a bit overwhelming. Our bathroom is currently a building site as DH does some work in there.. it will all be worth it in the end though!

I've been wondering what to do about a maternity coat, don't really want to buy one but as this pregnancy is right through winter and my current coat is already rather neat across my little bump I think I might have too. I was wondering whether a baby wearing coat would work to double up as a maternity coat in the meantime? Would feel like a more useful longer term purchase then. Just wondered if anyone had one?

BunchOfBobs · 30/10/2016 09:19

Marmite I have this one http://www.lovetobenatural.co.uk/mamalila-allweather-jacket-softshell.html
It comes with a pregnancy panel as well as the babywearing panel. Bon prix does a cheaper one and just maternity coats too.
http://www.bonprix.co.uk/products/maternity-soft-shell-coat//A-9323311_20

Or you could do what we've just ordered for DH and get a panel to go in your existing coats http://www.zipusin.co

Miley how annoying, I think another word may be in order. Don't worry, I'll be posting photos of the outfit Grin I have to crochet us both matching gryffindor hats first Smile.

Potato That does sound like it would be tense. I hope she snaps out of this phase soon. How was leaving Arya with her grandad whilst you did the log cabin? Yay for the decal finally turning up. Post photos when it's up!!

Sodasoda · 30/10/2016 10:16

Miley that sounds so frustrating Angry

Bunch I'd love to meet! It would slightly depend on where / when - I have a baby massage class 2.30-2.30 in Kensal rise, NW London so would need to work round that Smile

Canters15 · 30/10/2016 11:46

feefs huge congrats on the move, and I think you did the right thing finishing early....my spd was no where near as bad as yours but stopping work has made it so much better already.

miley what is wrong with him? It's like he's deliberately trying to be as useless as possible, do you think he's trying to get out of you asking him to do stuff? Glad the baby gaviscon is helping.

nev dress sounds amazing! I sorted through my wedding pics the other day, made me wish I could do it all over again.

marmite v jealous of the kitchen planning appointment, I have a dream kitchen in my head for when we eventually buy a house.

Nothing much new over here, I had two days of brown bleeding and wondered if it could be a show but it never really progressed into anything and has stopped now. Also we put the pram together, it's all getting real!

Mileymoocow · 30/10/2016 12:38

Definitely frustrating ladies Angry he had the audacity to complain I'd left a pod in the tassimo machine thus morning so I'm fizzing with him. I think it was light hearted but I still bit his head off. He's gone to get stuff to make a roast for dinner so hopefully he'll be out of my way this afternoon. canters maybe that's it but I wouldn't have ever expected that from him. He's brilliant during the day when I'm around but he's never really been alone with him longer than 30 mins. I can't even be arsed to explain why I'm annoyed so I'm going to sit in the dining room and start Harrison's scrap book

AudreyBradshaw · 30/10/2016 12:50

canters I'm bored of being pregnant now, and impatient. Ive been eating spicy food, dtd and volunteering for dog walks all week. Getting pain right at the bottom of my bump and it seems to have dropped but nothing serious happening and I could do with having baby before Tuesday or after the 16th (cause that way dh won't be in work!) We went and picked the pram up yesterday, but Dh and my dad insisted it doesn't come out of the box/get out together till after baby is born. I still opened the box!

potato it's all getting real and exciting now! I can't wait till baby's here and to find out what we've got now!

miley kill him, there's simply no other way to deal with him! Standard murder, no jury would convict!

Due date today. Nothing occurring yet!
Repeat growth scan on Tuesday then stretch and sweep on Wednesday with midwife. My bet is for 7th November (just a weird instinctive feeling about that date!)

BunchOfBobs · 30/10/2016 16:08

Happy due date First. Hope things start moving for you .

Stardrey I'm so excited for you.

Ahh soda would be amazing if we could wait. I'm free 2.00 until 6ish so could meet after your baby massage class. Grin

So Halloween has truly hit here. My parents have arrived, DH, DF and I are having a carving competition but I think our first attempt at pumpkin decoration wins the day Grin

PotatosMum · 30/10/2016 17:20

Miley that sounds really frustrating. I do all the night feeds in our house but then Arya slept really well really early so I usually get 4 solid hours before I have to get up for the first time. I imagine OH would be similar if he did do night feeds though. Today was the first time he actually held Arya long enough for her to fall asleep Hmm

Marmite kitchen planning, how exciting!

Bunch that photo is brilliant!! We wanted to do something similar but I couldn't find a pumpkin big enough.

Arya didn't end up being left with her grandad as he was far more interested in working on the cabin and frustrating OH and I I just don't think I want to leave her with anyone else other than her dad yet.

Audrey did that, build the pram. There are few enough fun things about pregnancy without holding off on things.

First happy due date. Hope baby doesn't keep you waiting too long.

Fab thanks Bunch that's really helpful! Would never have thought to look at Bon Prix but they have got much more reasonable coats than elsewhere!

That pumpkin photo is beyond adorable!!!!
