Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! From morning sickness in the first trimester to the third trimester struggle of getting out of bed ( "walrus-ing"in our house), to actual real babies who are growing so fast! Discussion on the merits of sleepyhead and Ewan the dream sheep.

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Congratulations Lillian!!

PotatosMum · 27/10/2016 06:28

Lillian congrats Grin

Pink I know how you feel. OH takes Arya for about an hour at the end of every day so that I can clean the kitchen and put the bottles in the steriliser. Then she's back to me to be fed and settled. But to be fair to him I'm very routine driven. He tried to give her her last feed the other night and I nearly killed him for messing up my routine.

Regarding OHs stupid comment, I think he just said it without thinking. No excuse but med do say some really stupid things when they don't engage brain first. I am really cross though as I doubt we'll be able to get married next year now as booking the registry office at the weekend in summer will be impossible.
I might talk to him about it later, he's having a log cabin delivered for the garden so he'll be in a good mood Wink

Arya was weighed today, she's now 11lb2oz and very smiley Smile she's also been awake on and off since 2am... Of OH says he's tired today I might have to kill him!

Sorry for all those I missed. Too shattered to think clearly and respond to everyone Confused

Pinklily1 · 27/10/2016 08:22

dr, I was in a bad mood when I posted last night. To to be fair to OH, when he comes in from work he cooks and helps with a bunch of tasks, as well as having some baby time. It's just the list of things to do seems to grow rather than shrink so I tend to finish it off before bed.

Evelyn slept through the night last night and the night before Grin Pretty much 11pm/11.30pm until 7am both nights, which is amazing. The only down side is I've woken up both days with boobs like rocks which have leaked all over and which are really painful. I wear breast pads but they tend to move around in the night. I'm not sure whether I should be getting up in the night to pump, even if baby is sleeping through, to provide a bit of relief. What are others doing/planning to do?

Who is next in terms of due dates? stardrey, you must be getting close yo the top of the list now!!

Mileymoocow · 27/10/2016 08:46

lillian huge congratulations! I can't wait to see/hear more Grin

pink I'll let you know if I ever have that problem - Harrison is still awake 3 times a night at the absolute least! He's such a hungry baby I'm worried I won't be able to keep up with him soon, especially considering he seems to be up and eating so much compared to other thread babies Blush no wonder he's such a hunk a chunk. OH has been better, he does the nappy change before bed now because I feed and then hand Harrison straight over to be winded and changed so he has no option! I now feed or express a bottle and head up to bead an hour ahead of OH and that seems to be working but it does mean we never get to DTD...

Danni89 · 27/10/2016 08:50

I'm doing the course too soda, start on the 8th. Yeah looking forward to it, and maybe making some friends. What other groups are you booked up for? I went to hartbeeps baby bells yesterday, it was really good and we have baby massage today.

Canters15 · 27/10/2016 08:54

Congrats lillian! Hope you're feeling ok, enjoy the cuddles!

pink my section is on 14th but I think there were a couple of others due before me. Sorry about crap oh. I wish I had some useful words of advice but I just feel a bit ragey on your behalf!

I seem to be coming down with a cough and cold. This seems extremely unfair, I had a hideous cold the week before last which had only fully cleared a few days ago, and I don't even go anywhere/see anyone to come into contact with germs at the moment! Waaaaaaaaah. I bought a stack of books in town so can at least hole up in bed with those.

nev you're very close! Have you been to the ice cream parlour in frinton? I've only been once but it made me very happy.

Sodasoda · 27/10/2016 09:32

Pink Alexa has started going much longer in the night between feeds now and has slept through a few nights so I have similar issues - a very wet nightie and bed sheets as well!! I haven't got her up / expressed in night but if it's really painful for you then it could be a good idea? On my first feed I've just express at the same time and have found it a great way of getting a bottle sorted - it just pours out of me!!

Danni I went to hartbeeps on Tuesday. Alexa seemed to like it but the next youngest baby was 6 months old which I was surprised about. I've also booked a baby massage class and a baby yoga class as well as postnatal yoga for me where baby can come along (these start in a couple of weeks). Also looking into swimming lessons. There's lots of music and rhyme stuff nearby too but a lot of them say no younger than 3 months. I'm definitely doing a lot so once the classes properly start I'm hoping the friend thing will click into place.

Sorry people are having issues with OHs. My DH has been working really long hours recently ( last night he came home at 7.30 and helped got an hour but then logged back into his laptop until 10.30) that I feel bad asking for help from him. Also he comes home and wants to collapse in front of tv but I've watched enough to and want to chat!!

Sodasoda · 27/10/2016 09:34

Sorry missed your post canters. That sucks on the cold. Hope you can get some rest and your OH can run around after you!

marmitecheesetoast · 27/10/2016 12:53

Congratulations Lillian!!!

Mooseville · 27/10/2016 16:51

Just reading about everyone's issues with their DP's and just thought I'd share the words of wisdom my gifrlfriends were telling me this weekend.

All of them were saying how much amniosity and rage they felt towards their partners in the first year. How useless they thought they were and how much they felt they couldn't do anything right.....
they then said how this just seemed to vanish and fade away and all the love and happiness seemed to come back.
My friend said she reverted back to practically despising him for the first few months with her second too before it faded away! They were telling me all this jokingly and good naturedly but also kind of a warning! So for those frustrated - hopefully it won't last!!!!

BunchOfBobs · 27/10/2016 17:47

Miley Atticus is up 3 times every night most nights so don't worry. We both have beasts for their age so it's probably something to do with that Grin

Thanks for the info Moose. That's reassuring to know.

Nevlet · 27/10/2016 19:56

Bunch miley bodhi is up every couple of hours for food. He is permenantly hungry and a bloody giant.

In selfish news I BOUGHT A WEDDING DRESS TODAY. Nothing at all like I thought I wanted but I love it!

mayago · 27/10/2016 20:00

Congratulations Lillian!!

And yay for the wedding dress Nev! Finally a feeling I can relate to Grin

BunchOfBobs · 27/10/2016 21:46

Seriously ouch, this years flu jab leaves an ache! Anyone else finding it? Definitely won't be able to sleep on my left side tonight. First night completely alone, wish me luck! I usually wimp out and go to my parents. I've decided to brave it Grin.

AudreyBradshaw · 27/10/2016 21:59

bunch I had the flu jab one side and whooping cough in the other. I couldn't over my arms for two days!

mayago · 27/10/2016 22:25

After hounding my surgery for a month, they've finally booked me an appointment for a flu jab tomorrow. And then I'm going away for the night with a friend Hmm

PotatosMum · 28/10/2016 08:28

Pink yay! For Evelyn sleeping through the night Smile

Canters sorry you're feeling pawly.

Moose that's interesting what your friends said about their DHs. Good to know what some people have been feeling is normal. I hope it doesn't last a whole year Shock
I guess it's just while the babies are so tiny and dependant. Once they're up and walking, on solids and able to entertain themselves a little I guess we can chill out.

Nev yay for the wedding dress.

We're going to be trying to put up a cabin over the next few days. Hopefully it shouldn't be to stressful and it'll cheer OH up a bit as its going to be his studio.

Mileymoocow · 28/10/2016 08:29

bunch are we supposed to get flu jabs or is it just something you do every year? I probably should go get one...

Glad to hear it's not just my boy I see a theme here that's a hungry chunk! nev and bunch we have created monsters. Very, very cute monsters!

nev brilliant news on the wedding dress! Let's hope OH behaves so you get a chance to wear it! What's it like? Are we allowed to know?

OH had to stay an extra 4 hours on his shift yesterday to sort out a fault (he's an electrician) so he did a 16 hour shift. We were on bed long before he got home and he was away to work this morning before he got up. I kinda feel like I shouldn't make him do the last feed and stay up til 11 today cause he'll be shattered! Harrison is so much better with his infant gaviscon bless his heart! He's only having 2 of the recommended 4-6 doses as it gives them diahorrea and I don't want him having a sore tummy

Mileymoocow · 28/10/2016 09:29

Any other mums feel like they're ready for a little break? It's just been since yesterday I've felt like it's time to leave him with grandparents and do my own thing for a couple of hours and I feel so incredibly guilty for thinking it Blush I can only shower when OH is home and I can't remember what a hot bath and hot cup of tea are like!

Nevlet · 28/10/2016 10:05

Miley haha at hoping I get to wear it! I still love OH he is just getting on my last nerve sometimes at the moment. Its nothing like the laid back beachy dress I thought I wanted. It is a corset bodice into an A line toulle skirt and big train. It's almond and ivory so not white which keeps its a bit more chilled out but it is a full on big bridal gown... for a beach wedding with ten guests Blush. I figured I will hopefully never do it again so why not have the dress I loved when trying them on?

Nevlet · 28/10/2016 10:06

Anyone have a sleepy baby after 8 week jabs? Had them at 5 last night and he has slept on and off since. Seems off milk but thats only because he is falling back asleep before finishing a bottle.

Nevlet · 28/10/2016 10:12

Miley yes to wanting a break. I loved my few hours dress shopping. We are staying at my parents tonight I am secretly hoping Mum will offer to have him in their room overnight so we can get a whole night sleep!

IndiX · 28/10/2016 10:18

Your dress sounds beautiful nev.
*
Miley* I feel the same, I don't feel guilty though. I think wanting a little break for a couple of hours is normal, I need to buy freezer bags so I can pump and store my milk and leave Autumn with my mum for a couple of hours. Don't feel bad about wanting a little miley time, it's a 24/7 job looking after our little babas so 2 hours off duty is needed sometimes!

IrregularCommentary · 28/10/2016 12:26

Miley - definitely getting to that stage! I've actually got a hair appointment booked soon so will be leaving her with DH while I go to that. Full head of highlights so it's a long appointment. Looking forward to doing something that's completely unrelated to being Mum.

Sodasoda · 28/10/2016 12:51

Dress sounds gorgeous Nev how exciting! When's the big day? I also had a really small wedding with 15 people and wore a full wedding dress Grin

Irregular I'm doing exactly the same - got a highlights appt next week when I'm visiting my parents, going to express a bottle and my mum will look after Alexa. It's going to feel so weird not being with her but I think nice to have a bit of a break. No need to feel guilty Miley!
