Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! From morning sickness in the first trimester to the third trimester struggle of getting out of bed ( "walrus-ing"in our house), to actual real babies who are growing so fast! Discussion on the merits of sleepyhead and Ewan the dream sheep.

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Ahhhh
All the bubbas here are too cute!!!

Am I the only one still pregnant? Sad

32+3 and I just want to sleep.

AudreyBradshaw · 22/12/2016 09:18

ever no there's a few still prego. Honestly though, you'll never sleep properly again 😆 and L is a really good snoozer from what I can gather! You'll be less physically uncomfortable, but thats about it.

Struggling to keep up, I'm at home and dh is on 12 hour shifts so out of the house for a minimum of 13, and then asleep the rest of the time. I don't blame him and I'd rather he wasn't tired because of the driving but he went to bed at 10 pm, hasnt stirred yet, and will come downstairs (I'm on the couch, its comfier, warmer and basically I couldn't be arsed lugging everything upstairs by myself) and tell me how tired he is and how we need to get a move on and do Christmas shopping. He may lose an eyeball of he does. L doing 2/3 hourly feeds last night and is now looking at me with those beautiful big blue peepers from his moses basket. I can't sleep while he's awake, I feel guilty! Pointless going to wake up dh to have him for a bit as it will take him 45 minutes to shift. For all his "I've had a baby before, I know what I'm doing" talk, he's fucking rubbish. Frightened of hurting him so won't change/dress him, can't feed him, loves holding him but doesn't listen when I'm saying to hold him sat up not flat so he doesn't spew his feed, baby spews, I have to change him and feed him again. Mini whinge! Sorry!

Everybody ready for Christmas?! I haven't even started! 🎄

Ever I'm still here, bringing up the rear I think!

Glad it's going well Audrey even if your DH is going to become injured!

Feefeefs · 23/12/2016 00:49

Cluster feeding is upon us I think! Feeding every hour despite top ups (formula/expressed breast milk).

Really nice having family here but so much pressure to be "back to normal" or "out and about". And then I do also want to be out and about. All confused!!

I agree with stardrey so much ever! You'll be lesss physically uncomfortable but still no sleeping

AudreyBradshaw · 23/12/2016 02:47

Seriously though, mama's with older babies, when does the wanting to kill your husband stop? It's hormones isn't it? I'm struggling with him at the moment and his utter ridiculousness.

OP posts:
Canters15 · 23/12/2016 04:44

To be honest Audrey i think you'd be less inclined to kill him if he wasn't being such a twat. Seriously, 'im afraid of hurting him so I won't do anything'. Great cop out. Just as well you're not afraid of hurting him isn't it or nothing would get done. i may want to kill him on your behalf

Ah yes feefs that sounds like cluster feeding! We'd just stopped and now it's started again as in mid of week 5 leap. Sigh!

Feefeefs · 23/12/2016 10:52

Back to birth weight!! Woo hoo! Baby not me obviously! I'm a stone up on boooking in weight which is not too bad I think! The world seems more hopeful. Kill DH Audrey! Ha ha

BunchOfBobs · 23/12/2016 12:16

Stardrey it comes and goes in waves. Mine has mostly disappeared, a son I don't want to kill him as soon as he walks through the door anymore but saying that we're about to leave the house for Christmas and I've stormed up stairs after telling him to go f himself and taking myself to the nursery to calm down. We're running 70 mins late and I refuse to leave until he admits he's being an utter twunt, regardless of my teenage over reaction.

BunchOfBobs · 23/12/2016 12:16

*as in

marmitecheesetoast · 23/12/2016 16:29

Another preggo here Ever bringing up the rear with Fishy! 24 weeks today so officially viable apparently, woohoo!

Aah Audrey that sounds so frustrating. Hope he bloody bucks up soon. Has get some time off over Christmas that you can all spend together and he can hopefully get some confidence in doing more stuff?

That's great news Feefs!

I got to see my bump actually moving with kicks and movement last night was so amazingly mind-bendingly lovely! I rolled up my top when baby was having a kick-fest as had heard you could see movement at this point which I must say I didn't believe and was very pleasantly surprised! Sounds silly but for the first time ever actually feeling like there's an actual little tiny human in there!

Also had my first community midwife appointment today, got to hear the heartbeat which I was really pleased about especially as I didn't get to hear it at 16 weeks! Midwife suggested I recorded it on my phone so now I can keep listening to it Xmas Grin
It felt less rushed and impersonal than at the hospital too and hopefully will see see one of just two different midwives there now for the rest of my appts so feeling a bit better about it all.

Hope all bumps, mums and babies are ready for Christmas and have a lovely festive time! Xmas Smile

PotatosMum · 23/12/2016 21:00

Audrey aww, sorry OH is being rubbish. If it makes you feel any better my OH had two before ours and he to seemed baffled by babies. I think it's a man thing.
... when I stop wanting to kill OH I'll let you know. I've heard it's 12 months Hmm

Bunch OH dear, I hope OH admits his wrongness so that you can leave soon!

Marmite yay for seeing kicks. That really does never get old 😄
Glad the midwife appointment went well too 😊

Well, we're having our first Christmas tomorrow. We're just having a quiet one with mum, then we'll have a couple of hours to reset before we have our main Christmas with the kids. We're going to be shattered!!

Merry Christmas Mama's, Baba's and preggies!

Lots of love from Me & L xxx 🍰🎄🎁🎀👑🐘

P.s we had an excellent row, decided we were getting divorced, decided we'd never cope without one another, made attempts to get on the same page (we were previously clearly in different bloody libraries! ) So fingers crossed things will improve now! He's making an excellent effort and I'm not expecting him to mind read!

Hi all - been busy with family over and struggling to keep up with the thread this week but just popping on to wish all the mums, bubs, preggos and soon to arrive beans a Merry Christmas!!

M had her 8 week jabs this week and was pretty miserable all the first day - never heard her cry like that it broke my heart I think she was achy from the jabs! She was fine the next day but has developed a fussiness with sleep and fights it like it was life or death. On a good note she is giving us more and more smiles and what looks like the start of a laugh/giggle but without a sound!

Love those Christmas outfits!!

Pinklily1 · 25/12/2016 16:06

Happy Christmas everyone! Some amazing outfits bring modelled yesterday and today by the looks of things!

Hope everything gets sorted with your OH stardry.

mayago · 25/12/2016 22:32

Happy Christmas everyone! I've managed not to give birth on Christmas Day, so I'm considering that a win.

Have had a busy few days - I'm no longer positive for Group B Strep, so a home birth is back on the table! had a midwife visit yesterday to do all the paperwork, and all would be grand if my birth pool wasn't misrouted to Liverpool and now delayed until the 28th Hmm I'm due in 11 days! How did that happen?!

Some lovely Christmas outfits being modelled in the past few days! What a great looking group we have. I hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas!

Sorry I've been so rubbish with keeping up. I think I'm finished work now, and if I can keep my eyes open, I should have a fairly quiet week Grin I love Christmas!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Grin we certainly did.

I was a little scared to resurface here after about a week away because I thought I'd never catch up! But evidently everyone has been as busy as me Grin

Harrison was spoilt beyond belief, and slept 13 hours on Christmas day and Boxing day night time as he was so alert and nosey he just wouldn't nap. Mum is having him tonight as my friend is down from Glasgow so we're off out for a meal.

Hope everyone is keeping well and I'm loving the Christmas outfits!

marmitecheesetoast · 27/12/2016 17:14

Happy Christmas everyone, hope you all had a lovely day!

Loving all the gorgeous festive baby pics!

We had Christmas Day at the in laws, had a lovely time playing with SiL2s little ones. In Scotland for a week now with my mum and dad for a nice chill Smile

Great news on the home birth being back on May! Hope birthing pool turns up asap!

One of the jobs we have allocated for this week is to start buying baby things! Haven't got anything yet, thinking we're going to start with the pram. Need to go and have a play with some in the shops but wondered if any of you really loved/didn't like whatever you had? Planning on doing quite a lot of walking with it but also something not too heavy that isn't too much of a faff for getting in and out the car etc on my own. We have a medium size car and not a huge amount of storage space in house so nothing too massive! Any particular recommendations / avoids please do let me know!

SiL has also said we can have her next2me crib which I was thinking of getting anyway, so pleased about that.

Enjoy your meal out tonight miley!

Feefeefs · 27/12/2016 18:20

Sounds like you've got a good start on the baby stuff marmite! We've got an icandy apple to pear and I like it so far. It is big but fits in our boot (Ford Focus) and also fit in the smaller polo boot before that got written off!! Easy to push and steer. We went to mothercare and mamas and papas and tried them all in and out of the car boot and then waited for a mothercare/mamas and papas discount event. I do love our car seat we got a family fix base and pebble car seat again at a discount event. Delighted you've got your home birth back on.

Those 13 hour sleeps sound amazing miley.

I had a lovely if somewhat overwhelming Christmas!! My parents have been amazing cooking and cleaning and helping look after baby but mostly freeing up me and DH to focus our attention. He goes back to work on Thursday and I'm struggling with it. Going to miss him so much and still feel less than confident in my abilities after all the breastfeeding set backs! It seems to be going better now but she will get weighed again on Thursday and it can't come soon enough! MIL is doing my nut in, I know she's excited but she constantly talks about stealing A, about how she doesn't believe us that she cries, that she would just take her home and they'd be fine Hmm. I don't think she realises it's further knocking my confidence.
My parents are realistic and share there experiences but say "well that was 30 years ago we didn't know all they know now etc etc" whereas MIL is constantly telling us what to do. They are all obsessed with getting her into a routine!! She's only two and a bit weeks!! Grrr sorry no one to rant too!!

Love all the Christmas pictures!!

Hope the sleep gets better soon Lillian but glad you're getting smiles.

Canters15 · 28/12/2016 09:45

Merry Christmas all! I am so far behind!

Feefs, parents and in laws are hilarious sometimes. I think I would cry if anyone suggested taking my tiny baby home with them, that's not ok. A needs her mum! Mine are also obsessed by routine. My mum is preoccupied with giving him formula and is convinced he won't get all he needs from my milk. This has been made even worse by her discovering we do give the odd bottle of formula, she keeps going on at me to top him up. Yes because man made is so much better then natural?!!

Had a lovely Christmas. V spoilt. R went to bed at 10pm last night which feels like a huge treat!
