Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! From morning sickness in the first trimester to the third trimester struggle of getting out of bed ( "walrus-ing"in our house), to actual real babies who are growing so fast! Discussion on the merits of sleepyhead and Ewan the dream sheep.

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Miley wow! How many weeks is Harrison now?
Arya is just starting to push up on her elbows but she's no where near as far along and certainly not grabbing her feet Shock Harrison is a clever little bean Grin

Yes, you're right about the ex-friend. We lost contact for several years and when we did reconnect over FB we didn't really talk much. In fact, her farewell rant was the most she'd ever said to me and it was the sort of thing I would expect from a angry 15 year old. I'm quite glad she unfriended me as it saved me the bother.

Mileymoocow · 17/12/2016 21:33

potato he'll be 14 weeks on Monday. He isn't on his elbows when he tries to get on his knees, he's just sort of faceplanted and has managed to push his face and chest forward with his knees. He's trying very hard but he is such a nosy boy I'm not surprised he wants to be on the go.

Oh, she sounds a joy Hmm I do love those 'I won't go quietly' types as if she thinks anything she says is of any relevance!

marmitecheesetoast · 18/12/2016 08:52

Sounds like you're well shot of her Potato - clearly she has some issues in herself!

I do have a pregnancy pillow Potato but just a smallish one I bought a month or so ago, maybe need to think about a bigger more supportive one. Oh, all I want to do is sleep on my back! Confused

Well done on weight loss Pink!

That's amazing Miley well done Harrison!

DH was very apologetic yesterday and got up early this Morning to crack on with the kitchen tiling that was supposed to happen yesterday while I'm currently in bed with a cup of tea. Still can't believe the state he got himself into though

Feefeefs · 18/12/2016 09:05

So glad things have turned around the OH miley.
Sounds lovely to have some time together planned.

That's crap about the Facebook person potato.

Poor you marmite! Hopefully he was suitably guilty today.

Impressive weight loss pink!

Glad your dad s operation finally happened and went well bunch.

Slightly less sleep last night. Plan is bf, 30mls end or formula and then pump 15 mins. But she was up every 2 hours! Still better than no sleep at all!! She had gained back 2oz too so it's working Smile. DH is a great help

BunchOfBobs · 18/12/2016 12:48

Glad you got some sleep Feefs.

Miley Atticus is the same. He's been trying to grab his feet for ages but has finally started succeeding. He gets so frustrated on his tummy because he can't get anywhere with his commando crawl too. I was looking trough teeny photos of him last night and got all upset as I can't remember him that small. I feel I missed it with being so ill the first couple of weeks.

I second what everyone else said marmite. I hope you made him clear up!!

Potato any chance one of your reviews was of something she's connected to somehow? Such an overreaction on her part otherwise.

Atticus has had 10, I repeat 10 poos before midday today. I hate teething. It's literally every time he farts he has watery stools. OH has named him Sir Shatticus The Turd because it's all he's doing. They're big for sharts too so if I don't get to it super quick I have to change the entire nappy instead of just the fleece liner. One was at 1.30 am. That's just cruel. He's fine in himself at least.

mayago · 18/12/2016 17:35

Yikes Bunch, that's just cruel. I hope it's just the first few teeth that have this effect on Atticus! Lots of 'I's' in your post - hope OH isn't leaving you to deal with all the dirty nappies!
Also very glad to hear your dad's op went well!

Feef happy to hear reports of more sleep and a helpful DH!

Marmite hopefully the drunken stupor will be a one off, and something you can look back on differently in a few years! I love my electric blanket in bed - I start off on my back so my hips get the benefit of the heat, put cream on my bump, look at my phone etc. Then flop over on my left in a ver undignified manner and stick my 6 foot preggo pillow between my knees and cuddle up to it. I cut the pillow in half ages ago to make it a bit more flexible.
We've bought everything we think we need, and then a bit more! I think I have too many long sleeve vests and not enough short sleeves, but not the end of the world. We have a sleepyhead and a Ewan the sheep so I think we're good Grin

Potato I hope you're not taking much notice of this one weird person and her opinions. Sounds like she wasn't a great loss. Arya is 17 weeks already?! I'm going back to work at 18 weeks, and it suddenly doesn't seem like enough time off..

Miley that's amazing Harrison is moving so much already!

Great weight loss Pink - very well done! I have high hopes in my slimming world magazine subscription. Because just the act of having the magazine delivered is likely to make a huge difference Grin

Lovely I hated having to buy a new coats for such a short period. I found a fantastic fall/spring jacket on ebay for peanuts. I wish I'd bought a wool winter jacket for pregnancy, but couldn't justify the cost. I have a baby wearing winter jacket instead, which is the most unflattering thing ever but keeps me warm at least!

Glad you got out with your mum for her birthday Indi. Sounds like you had a great heart to heart with DH, and I hope it's had a lasting impact!

Thanks for all the bump love. I thought she was going to make an appearance last night after a horrendous stomach, nausea and fainty fit coupled with contractions that actually hurt, but it wasn't to be. Poor OH had to sit with me while I was on the loo freaking out - he deserves a medal for that one Blush I'm on my own now until Thursday night as OH is working away, and scared I'll have another repeat of last night while I'm here alone..

As much as I can't wait to meet this baby, I'm going to miss being pregnant. I love having her all to myself, and knowing she's all safe and snuggly in the confines of my uterus.

LovelyFishy · 19/12/2016 06:55

Feef glad Anna'a putting on weight. Xmas Smile

Maya I know what you mean about clothes. However I work such odd times and when I finish in the early hours of the morning I'm not going anywhere without a warm jacket! Hoping baby behaves while your OH's away.

Think I've got yet another UTI, joys!

Nevlet · 19/12/2016 08:21

Morning! Sorry been AWOL yet again... been in Leicester this weekend with friends. Their 8month old baby is the same size as Bodhi... he really is a giant lump haha.

Hope we all have a lovely day!

IrregularCommentary · 19/12/2016 08:44

Glad Anna's doing better with weight Feef. We had to combi feed T at first due to weight loss/slow weight gain. It was tough at first, but all worked out well fairly quickly in the end.

Nev that's my neck of the woods! Hope you managed to avoid traffic if you were in the city - Christmas shopping + Tigers match doesn't a happy road system make.

IndiX · 19/12/2016 11:20

Hi ladies,

Autumn slept 11 hours straight last night! I'm in shock Grin I however woke at 3.30 and haven't really slept since as I have a dodgy stomach and was awake with griping pains. So glad A is sleeping well though.
We went to meet Santa yesterday, she slept for the whole thing but we went with some friends and their kids and it was such a nice morning. Got some lovely photos too, even if she was none the wiser.

Feef I'm glad A is doing better and gaining weight.

Bunch poor atticus!! I'm really not looking forward to the teething stage, I think Autumn is starting to get one on her bottom gum but atm she's just a bit whingey sometimes and drooling lots. Hope he gets past it soon.

Miley That's amazing that Harrison is nearly on the move Smile

Pink that's great weight loss pink. I'm doing a bit of a detox this week before Xmas as I've eaten TOO much over the weekend and feel like a pig.

May I sometimes miss being pregnant and feeling her kicks but once your baby is here it's the most wonderful ( and slightly surreal) feeling ever.

Potato your 'friend' sounds like a complete arse. Better off without her.

marmitecheesetoast · 19/12/2016 12:49

Ooh I don't have an electric blanket May but maybe I could try using a hot water bottle a bit more to ease things off before bed. Think I also need to now get me one of those big preggo pillows, my little wedge thing ain't cutting it! How exciting, from what I've read on here Ewan the dream sheep and a Sleepyhead are must haves so you're sorted!
Hope you don't have a repeat of Saturday night while your OH is away. I'm sure you'll be fine.

That's rubbish you've got another UTI Fishy! Sad can they recommend anything given you seem to have them so repeatedly? I'm trying to decide whether or not I have a touch of thrush coming on at the moment

Great that Anna is putting on weight Feefs well done! And I like that my DH was to feel so suitably guilty it was all in bold too heheh!

Sounds rough Bunch hope Atticus feels better soon.

that's an amazing sleep from Autumn Indi! Not so good that you've not had a great night though, hope you're feeling better soon

DH cleaned up the mess himself and was suitably apologetic/mortified. He has been under a lot of stress at work recently with the redundancies which goes at least some way to excusing him from getting into that much of state. The good news is we've found out he's in the 12 months wave not the 3 month wave, so will still have a job when the baby is born! It actually means that his role is being relocated rather than being made redundant. They are offering an extremely generous relocation package and incentive but it would mean moving further down south even further away from my family in Scotland!

LovelyFishy · 19/12/2016 16:14

At least you know where you stand now Marmite, the not knowing about when the redundancy would be must have been tough!

I'm going to have to make an 'emergency' appointment with doctor tomorrow morning because otherwise they can't see me until a week Friday which is too long. Hopefully I get one of the good doctors and we can get something sorted!

Feefeefs · 19/12/2016 17:36

Bunch sir Shatticus the turd is hilarious, well the name is anyway! Probably not all the nappies tho sorry.

Thanks lovelyfishy. Poor you and the UTI really hope they get something sorted for you soon that must be miserable.

Are you still combo feeding irregular? I think we are getting there slowly but surely! More weight gain today Smile Only at 4% weight loss now. Thank god for the midwives though. Not sure if it's the same everywhere but get the midwife in everyday for 10 days, they've been a godsend.

11 hours indi!! Shock living the dream!! Shame a dodgy tummy had to ruin it for you!!

Sorry about the bold marmiteBlushglad you know where you stand re the redundancy now.

Thread 13. TTC #1 Grads. Some of us still remember that thing called "a full nights sleep" for most, it's a mere memory.
marmitecheesetoast · 19/12/2016 17:37

Suspected UTI definitely calls for an emergency dr appt Fishy, you need to get anti-biotics if you've got an infection to stop it spreading to kidneys, especially when pregnant. Hopefully you see some decent and they can do something about it being such a recurrent problem.

Yes at least we know what we're working with now re the redundancies and he'll still be in the job he knows when baby arrives next year!

Sodasoda · 19/12/2016 18:59

Fishy a UTI in pregnancy definitely needs an emergency appt. make sure the GP knows you're getting recurrent infections- they may advise you going on a low dose antibiotic to prevent more infections. That's what they did with me anyway.

Pink well done on the weight loss! I'm going to make the effort in January. I tried the haaka and I didn't really get much with it. I can see the value of it getting bits here and there as you can express when bf but as DH is around I'm able to express using the medela and I can get much more from that.

Bunch glad your dads op went well and poor Atticus with his sharts!

A has been sleeping really well recently but was up 3 times last night which she hasn't done in ages so I'm a bit cranky today, I've got too used to my sleep!

PotatosMum · 20/12/2016 09:19

Soda how old is A now? Arya has just started struggling to go off to sleep again, for no reason Confused

Feef that photo is adorable!!!

Marmite I don't have a Ewan or a sleepyhead and Arya has always slept like a dream. I think it's down to the baby.
Good news about your OHs job! The relocation sucks but could be worth it.

Indi yay for 11 hours sleep. It's a shame you had an upset tummy.

Those pictures are so cute!!!!

Mayo no, I didn't pay any attention to this woman. In fact, I used her as the inspiration for a post about people who go out of their way to be offended Grin

If you can take more time I would. I couldn't imagine leaving Arya yet, but then, I'm hoping the blogging will pay enough for me to stay home until she goes to school.

How many weeks are you now? Make sure you call the maternity ward if you have any concerns or think you might be in early labour. They're used to women calling up when they're freaked out Wink
It is a bit sad knowing that you won't have baby inside you any more and you will probably be OCD about her for quite a while but they're so much cuter and more fun after they're born lol

Bunch there's no chance my "friend" could have been connected to the restaurant she flipped out about as she lives a good couple of hours away. I suppose she might work for Debenhams or Costa but she didn't react to either of those posts. The tone of her rant was more along the lines that she thinks I'm stuck up and have standards that are too high. She mentioned me not being happy unless things meet my "silver service standards" and the restaurant I was reviewing was one she probably wouldn't be able to afford, so OH thinks there may be a bit of jealousy going on. We both grew up in a deprived area, I worked my ass off to get out of it while, from her photos etc. She didn't. Ironically, if it was jealousy it was very misplaced as it's not a restaurant we can really afford for anything other than anniversaries and birthdays and the meal was actually a birthday present to OH from his family.

Wow! That's a lot of poop. Teething seems to be doing the opposite for Arya. She keeps getting bunged up Confused

Arya's reached her official 4 month birthday Shock she's wailing like a cat when she tries to talk, and just to be awkward she appears to be learning to roll from back to front instead of front to back Hmm

Is everyone set for Christmas? I just need to do an extra bit of food shopping on Thursday then we're good Smile getting excited now! I'm going to start making the side dishes today. We've got to prepare 3 sets so I'm making them in advance and freezing them.

IrregularCommentary · 20/12/2016 10:06

feef I combi fed until she was about 6 weeks I think, but have been just bf since then.

Sodasoda · 20/12/2016 11:15

Potato she's almost 15 weeks. I've been reading up frantically googling in the middle of the night and it appears she could be going through leap 4 which also includes the 4 month sleep regression!! What the actual fuck?! So everyone says 'get through the first 12 weeks, they're the hardest' and then suddenly a couple of weeks later and she goes back into newborn sleep habits! Angry She was sleeping through the night or waking for one feed for the last 4 weeks but for the last 2 nights she's been up every 2 hours. ARGH!

Nevlet · 20/12/2016 13:43

Potato and soda we are having an awful time sleeping too. I have to sing/rock him off to sleep about 10 and then every hour ish from 2 he wakes and needs resettling. He is also wanting an overnight feed again!

Miley they should have 2.5 x their weight in milk. Eg 16lb x 2.5 = 40 so 40oz of milk over 24 hours.

Feefeefs · 20/12/2016 23:09

Thanks irregular that's comforting that you managed to get back to just bf from combi feeding. My milk seems to be coming in slowly now getting 40-60ml each pumping session rather than 10-30ml. Have had "milk drunk" baby twice now too which is one of the signs my midwife wants me to look out for. So feeling a lot more hopeful.

PotatosMum · 21/12/2016 08:14

Soda argh! I've just looked up 4th month sleep regression and this is definitely what Arya has too Sad they say it can go on for 6 weeks!!!! Shock

Spent yesterday pre-cooking cauliflower cheese, dauphinois potatoes and braised red cabbage to freeze for the weekend. We're having 2 Christmas days (one for mum and one for the kids) and we have to take some of each to a Boxing Day party. I feel like I've already cooked the bloody Christmas dinner after that batch cook!

Mileymoocow · 21/12/2016 21:50

Oh my God! The older H is getting, the more I'm struggling to post. He is at such an amazing stage right now where he basically smiles from morning til night with a few screaming sessions inbetween to alert us of imminent starvation/arrival of hideous shit

Hope everyone is well and all mums/mums to be and babies are doing fantastically. I'm so ridiculously excited for Christmas now, I absolutely cannot wait for it. Harrison's photos arrived today so once I transfer them to my phone I'll post them for you all Smile

Anyone using a bumbo? My cousin has given us hers to try as little man is so nosey but my back is buggered from all the sitting on the floor and walking round with him to show him everything. He loves it! He has his toys on the tray that attaches to it and he goes wild. He has a jumperoo for Christmas and I can't wait to try him in it when he's ready (possibly is now?)

Mileymoocow · 21/12/2016 21:50

Also calpol plug ins are amazing. They're the work of angels.

PotatosMum · 22/12/2016 07:17

Miley I know exactly how you feel. Between looking after Arya and blogging, there just aren't enough hours in the day.

I have the mothercare equivalent to a bumbo Arya isn't that keen yet but I hadn't tried putting her toys on the tray. She has an activity tray but she can't really use it yet.

What is a calpol plug in and why don't I know about it?

BunchOfBobs · 22/12/2016 08:00

Atticus has a bumbo. I tried him in one at a singing group 2 weeks ago and promptly got one off a gumtree advert. He's yet to discover the tray is a good thing though.
