Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! From morning sickness in the first trimester to the third trimester struggle of getting out of bed ( "walrus-ing"in our house), to actual real babies who are growing so fast! Discussion on the merits of sleepyhead and Ewan the dream sheep.

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Ooo... I forgot to add, today, for the first time Arya grabbed one of her toys and pulled it towards her to mouth at it Grin

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to check in and say hi, and apologies for not posting for ages. I've been reading and keeping an eye on everything, but it feels like every time I go to post, Quinn needs me, or I get distracted. I've lost loads of half-written posts!

Sorry to hear Bunch and Miley are sick. That's sounds horrible, you poor things! Hope it gets better soon, I really feel for you both.

It's lovely to hear how you are all doing, and I'm following loads of you on Insta, which I find easier to keep up with. I'm 'ruthwg' if anyone's seen that user and wondered who it is!

Sending you all my love, and hope to get back into the swing of regular posting soon x

PotatosMum · 28/11/2016 20:59

OMG!!! I just accidentally stabbed Arya in the mouth with my nail and now we both agree I'm the worse mummy ever!!! SadSadSad

AudreyBradshaw · 28/11/2016 23:43

Baby Boy born today! 8lb 15oz and the most wonderful amazing bruiser you've ever seen! 24 hours of contractions at 3 mins apart and never progressing past 7 cm dilated before I had a complete nervous breakdown and had to be blue lighted from birth centre to hospital. Another 6 hours later and I was in for a EMCS. No dramas and he is just beyond the most amazing thing I've ever seen. I'm so in love. Amazing maternity care, hopefully healing well, haven't slept yet amd expecting to feel like I've been run over by a bus tomorrow but loving every second of being a Mammy. I can't stop looking at him! He's asleep on me and having a dream

Will do a proper update tomorrow. Can't get over it! Wonderful vxxx

Woo hoo!! Congratulations Audrey! Can't wait to hear more!!

Hope everyone is well and that bunch and miley you are both over your illnesses.

potato, I'm sure Arya won't remember the nail stabbing!

How is the new kitchen coming on marmite?

Not ok much longer feefs! Are you next in line?!

canters, we had cluster feeding until about six weeks. Hope you have managed to pin down your OH! We've DTD a grand total of once in the past 12 weeks Hmm

Quick question for mummies - what do you put your babies in when they are in the car seat? I may have asked this before but it's stressing me out! I know they aren't meant to wear snow suits or coats but it's bloody freezing! I tend to go with a sleepsuit, cardigan and blankets.

Pinklily1 · 29/11/2016 08:09

was meant to say 'not much longer feefs

Nevlet · 29/11/2016 08:17

Pink similiar with car seat. Bodhi tends to get really warm in his and he is a hot baby anyway. I leave him in what he would be wearing inside and put a warm blanket over him as i carry him in and out in seat then add extra layers in pram. He is now out of his carrycot pram attachment and in the seat with a big fluffy foot muff type insert which is good for days out as when we are inside i can unzip it for him to cool down without taking tons of layers of clothes off.

LisaTheSimpson · 29/11/2016 08:18

Pink - we use a Morck. They're blankets that go on the car seat and have holds cut in for the shoulder straps and buckles, etc.

You then put the baby in, strap them in (just over their normal day clothes, so no extra padding), and then the blanket folds over them (if it's cold, or you can just leave it hanging out), to snug them in.

Recommend them!

Mileymoocow · 29/11/2016 08:30

pink usually a sleepsuit and a fleecy all in one over the top then just blankets if it's really cold! I warm the car up before I put him in, too. It's bloody freezing at the minute so he's in a thick snowsuit if we're out walking the dog. I don't use it for shopping though cause it's a faff getting him out of it and them back in it so I actually just put him in a sleepsuit then into a 2.5tog grobag for shopping!

Hope everyone's well. Harrison is feeling a load better now I think and I'm just trying to fight off the tail end of this cold! Another day in the house today. Anyone else get really bored in the house? I much prefer to be out and about with Harrison but I find I run out of ideas of places to go!

nev what pram did you buy again? We have the Bugaboo and I'm not sure whether it's time to move from the bassinet already Sad my baby is growing too quickly

marmitecheesetoast · 29/11/2016 08:50

Woohoo congratulations Audrey!!! GrinStarGrin Hope you've managed to get some rest and are enjoying your first hours together!

Kitchen is progressing slowly but surely thanks Pink! We are both back at work as of yesterday so means stuff is mainly happening in the evenings and next weekend which slows progress down. However we now have a functioning sink in the kitchen which makes a huge difference! And cupboard doors on the top row of units too. We're off on holiday next Monday and I've come to the realisation the kitchen isn't going to be finished before we go Confused

Glad to hear you and Harrison feeling better Miley hope it's not too long a day in the house for you

LisaTheSimpson · 29/11/2016 09:03

So glad Harrison is getting better, Miley. The poor thing, it sounds like he's really been through the wars.

I also like getting out and about, but sometimes I just feel stuck in sofa jail when Q feeds and feeds and feeds. It's not really cluster feeding (I think), but she can be quite clingy and there are days when I find it hard to get us out of the living room.

I feel more comfortable, and therefore confident, when I have her in the carrier rather than the pram. She won't be in the pram carrycot unless she's asleep, and will often cry when I put her in. She's quite a velcro baby most of the time.

Have you started taking H swimming? I want to start doing that soon.

Nevlet · 29/11/2016 09:29

Miley we have an urbo. The pushchair is suitable from birth as it clicks flat back - he had it clicked up to a similar angle to his bouncy chair as he likes to look around.

Lisa bodhi screams bloody murder in the bassinet think we only used it twice when he was tiny rest of the time I just attached the car seat. He LOVES being in the pram seat now!

LisaTheSimpson · 29/11/2016 09:32

Nev - I hadn't actually thought about changing to the pram chair (rather than carrycot). Interesting.

Is there a weight/age limit I need to check, or is it just a preference thing?

Feefeefs · 29/11/2016 09:39

Yay Audrey!!!! Congratulations!!

Hope you're feeling okay this morning.

I think it is me next pink 38+1 now. I think I'm the only one due in December too!

IrregularCommentary · 29/11/2016 10:09

Congratulations Audrey!!! So happy for you.

I've found myself wondering about the pushchair bit rather than the carrycot. I have a footmuff for the pushchair so reckon it could actually be warmer than the pram bit? I think mine says from 3 months, but she's just gone into 3-6 month sleepsuits and is 3 months in just under two weeks...

mayago · 29/11/2016 10:15

Congratulations Stardrey!! Hope you've gotten some rest, and I'm looking forward to hearing more Smile Flowers

Potato I'm sure Arya won't hold a grudge. Hopefully the stabbing will escape your memory pretty soon as well!

Pink I bought a Snugglebundl blanket (similar to a Morck I think?) to go in the car seat, but not idea what we'll use with it to keep baby warm! The car seat we've just bought stays in the car, so it should make it easier to lift baby out without waking her. In theory, anyhow.

Miley glad you and Harrison are on the mend! I'm bored of my house, but don't really have an excuse to stay indoors. It's too cold out to walk, as I don't have a proper maternity winter jacket and I can only fit a small layer under my current jacket. Not sure it's worth buying something solely for the next five weeks Confused

Marmite hooray for a working sink! Will the kitchen be finished for Christmas? That would be my worry! Where are you headed on holiday?

Lisa are you looking at a water babies type setup? OH thinks baby will be find in the regular pool for a short period of time, but I think it'll be too cold.

Feef I'm due in January, but I have a feeling I'll have a Christmas week baby Hmm How does it feel to be next in line? Grin

mayago · 29/11/2016 10:20

Ohh Bunch, missed that you've not been well. Hope it's passed by now! How on earth did you manage feeding with all the voming action going on? Flowers

Nevlet · 29/11/2016 10:21

For those asking about chair ours is suitable from birth as it lays flat. He isn't lay flat back in it I have it at same angle as car seat and bouncy chair. See no reason why we can't use personal judgement when to use it - you could always put it together in house and play around with it thats what we did!

BunchOfBobs · 29/11/2016 10:34

Huge congratulations Stardrey so pleased for you and you sound completely blessed out which has given me goosebumps. Can't wait to hear more, hopefully you're resting up and enjoying the newborn snuggles.

Pink feeling so much better, still feel a bit queasy when eating but other than that I'm good. Atticus so far seems to have avoided it too so that great news.

Potato ouch, I can imagine how awful you're feeling but I'm certain she's forgotten all about it now.

Feefs you're due on my birthday- best day ever for a baby Grin

Maya he got unlatched right at the end twice but was clearly asleep as didn't seem to care. Thankfully DH was next to me to grab him as I ran.

Canters15 · 29/11/2016 10:47

Woooooooooooop congrats audrey!! A lovely big boy! How fab!
