Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! From morning sickness in the first trimester to the third trimester struggle of getting out of bed ( "walrus-ing"in our house), to actual real babies who are growing so fast! Discussion on the merits of sleepyhead and Ewan the dream sheep.

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Finally caught up with the thread last night.

Congratulations First and Canters

Audrey I really hope things work out. It's no consolation but you are now famous. You've been quoted by the Sun this morning! (I've become a bit ebay obsessed since I started mat leave)

www.thesun.co.uk/living/2209049/mumsnet-user-wakes-to-find-shes-bid-on-something-hideous-and-won-after-a-night-drinking/

So after another crazy week and lots of reasons to moan (that I didn't want to bore you with) I celebrated getting back into my jeans with coffee and cake yesterday and survived breast feeding in Costa for thw second time. Obligatory photo on Instagram that has now become my baby spamming account 😂. Lazy day for me and the wee one today. Will be getting my knitting needles out while he snoozes.

Pinklily1 · 18/11/2016 08:46

18 bananas audrey?!!

Do you think they have someone deployed just to read MN and find amusing threads?!

PotatosMum · 18/11/2016 09:53

Sorry for the me, me, me post... I just sent OH an email telling him exactly how I feel about him keep postponing our engagement and now I'm absolutely bricking. I just didn't know what else to do as keeping my fears to myself is making me miserable but I cant actually speak about it because I get upset and then either make light of it or start crying.

I'm not sure I've done the right thing and I think his response may make me more upset not less. Sad

PotatosMum · 18/11/2016 10:04

Well at least he didn't keep me waiting. I supposed to stop worrying about it because it will happen Confused maybe I'm just too much of a control freak Confused

Nevlet · 18/11/2016 10:07

Good for you potato! I have probably missed it at some point but what is your situation with being engaged? I would have thought you are either engaged or you aren't? You should do what my Dad did and just told my Mum he had booked the registry office and you are getting married!

I think we are getting there with sleep... he goes down about 8pm wakes between 4 and 5 am and sleeps again till 7. Shame its the 10/11pm feed he has dropped not the 4/5 one but I will take it rather than being up both times.

Hope everyone has a nice Friday Smile

PotatosMum · 18/11/2016 12:32

Nev well, we discussed getting married and agreed that we are, we've planned the wedding and reception but not booked anything because there was a divorce to finalise first, then the move, then the baby... so it just keeps slipping further and further and I guess I'm getting impatient probably because I had a rather traumatic breakup in my past when I thought my ex and I were about to get engaged so I have a lot of insecurities around it. Plus I hate having a different last name to my baby Blush

Yay! For getting more sleep! Grin

LovelyFishy · 18/11/2016 13:07

Potato those moments are the most heart-racing ever but I believe they're worth it in the end - grab life by the balls! Hopefully the answer was good. Smile

Audrey teehee, bananas. When I used to get vair tipsey I was more likely to hug a lamppost or talk to a tree.

Well, I'm 14 weeks today and onto my 4th or 5th uti already, huzzah!

AudreyBradshaw · 18/11/2016 13:07

Oh god. I'm going to have to name change! I don't want the sun reading my history!

(Yep, 18 bananas, I was shitfaced...I don't when like bananas! I had to bake like 6 banana loaves to get shut of!)

Potato right that makes sense. Sort him out!

Canters15 · 18/11/2016 14:44

Just checking in. Mini canters is AMAZING, so in love with him and motherhood. The c section was a fab experience and recovery has been v straight forward. Breastfeeding is going very well, my milk came in on day 3 and he's onto yellow poos already. We're co sleeping as he hates the Moses basket and I love having him near me. DH is wonderful with him and has done every nappy change since birth, I love seeing them together and am so in love with my family. We can't stop grinning at each other. Now to catch up on the thread!!

LisaTheSimpson · 18/11/2016 16:28

Canters, that's such a lovely post!

So pleased things are going well for you and your new little family! c

mayago · 18/11/2016 23:25

Stardrey glad you got seen to and it's nothing serious. I'd love for a doc to prescribe sex, just so I could laugh at him or her.

Pink I don't know what sort of birth plan I'll end up with now. I've been advised to contact the supervisor of midwives in my area for an additional visit, as I haven't had as many appointments as I should have for a first time mum. Home birth might still be an option, as long as I can get the IV sorted first. I think. My doctor is happy to retest me in a few weeks Bunch, so that's a load off. Lovely no birth centres around here, so it's either home of hospital. I remember you were really not looking forward to being in hospital Potato, so really appreciate your comment about gas and air Wink

My mat leave starts at Christmas, when my office is closed anyhow. I'm only taking 18 weeks, so have to work as long as I can really. My boss came to me today for a change, and I think has started to realise he can't expect so much from me. I'm planning one last trip to the office at the end of the month, and nothing more after that. I've shortlisted three candidates to cover me on mat leave, and he'll have to sort the interviews and handover out Shock I'll take a 'keeping in touch' day each month to make sure the office isn't falling apart without me. And breathe.

Yikes Potato the second injection doesn't sound like fun. Arya is so cute! She doesn't look traumatised at all Wink. I hope you get the engagement stuff sorted soon. Sometimes it's just nice to have a plan!

Feef how's the new house? Hopefully you can take it a bit easier with the next burst of energy, and feel accomplished and not too sore.

Marmite you can always find out the sex after the 20 week scan, if you change your mind! I'm glad we found out - with family so far away it's helped them bond a little with the baby as well. I just wish my mom would have kept it to herself a little more..

Miley Harrison is such a sweetheart. I'm still loving his hair! I can't believe he's in 3-9 month clothes already!

Your cinema trip sounded absolutely perfect Bunch.

Co5mo back in your jeans already? That's fantastic, congratulations!

Nev hooray for sleep!

Lovely hope the UTIs settle soon.

Canters I'm so pleased for you! Baby/new family goals, right there!

Canters15 · 19/11/2016 17:09

Hows everyone doing? Weekend plans? We're off to the pub for lunch tomorrow which will be my first public breastfeeding experience! Then on Monday we're going to have a trip out for coffee and cake and some new breastfeeding friendly clothes. Midwife came today, mini c has only lost 5% of his body weight which is amazing!

I'm glad we found out the gender. It meant we could pick a name and buy some lovely clothes. I will find out in future too- I really want my next baby to be another boy!

Potato, if you've planned a wedding and agreed to get married are you not technically engaged? Cant you just crack on and book it- force his hand?!

AudreyBradshaw · 19/11/2016 17:52

Right, I've decided this baby can arrive now. Due date is Wednesday, I'm bored of being preggo. I've got things to be getting on with this week shopping and now I've dropped I've got a million stretch marks just under my skin which are sore! And I want to know what we've got now! Are you a boy or a girl, little bruiser!? (My money's on boy.)

Excellent news on mini canters ! And what are lovely post. Flowers

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 19/11/2016 18:37

I'm going to guess it's a boy too Audrey! Fingers crossed baby makes and appearance soon.

Sound like you are taking to motherhood really well canters. How are you recovering? Are you sharing Baby Canters name? Totally understand if not!

Mileymoocow · 19/11/2016 18:50

canters that's so lovely! Your little boy is very handsome. Good luck with public breastfeeding - once you've done it the first time you'll be fine to wap your boobie out anywhere! Grin

may thank you - I do love his fluffy head Grin gad to hear your boss has pulled his socks up! It's about time. Only use your keeping in touch days if you feel up to it, you have enough to worry about looking after yourself and a newborn.

Lol Audrey Grin brilliant. We have a 24hour asda on the way home from our local boozer. My ex used to be the night shift manager so I used to cause havoc when drunk. Was my favourite thing to do because he was a right uptight wanker. I got barred for buying a skateboard and going down the up travelator and putting put tannoy announcements for silly names (Clark Kent being one of them).

I think I've got a poorly baby again 😢 I really don't know what's up with him but he's been so smiley and happy all day then around 3pm he broke his heart bless him. He's been on and off upset until now where he's eventually gone down for a nap that's lasted longer than 20 minutes. Thing is, his cheeks are red and he's chewing his fists so I'm sort of thinking he could be teething already!?

Hope everyone's OK - I'm having my first glass or two of prosecco in 10 months!

Mileymoocow · 19/11/2016 18:52

I think you're having a girl audrey! A little mini you Smile how bloody exciting you're just about due!

Co5mo · 19/11/2016 19:27

Great minds think alike Miley ... mini bottle of prosecco chilling in the fridge.

Mini Me is snoozing next to me and DH is cooking dinner. First of the years mince pies are cooling. Time for some me time now.

Feefeefs · 19/11/2016 21:35

One wake up sounds good nev! How old is he now??

Oh poor you lovelyfishy sounds miserable.

Go you potato, I frightened DH into it originally applied for a green card! Said as there was no imminent plans to get married I might as well and that really scared him! Wasn't really my intention but worked out well!!!

Awwwww canters I'm so delighted for youGrin

Thanks may, house is good, mostly unpacked just baby stuff everywhere as waiting for the nursery to get skimmed next Sunday, then we can build the furniture and everything will be ready! Love being in the new house.

My money's on boy too Audrey! Hopefully things get going soon!

Yay for prosecco miley and canters I had one tonigt Blush probably only my 6th(? I think) drink since being pregnant but I loved every drop!

Had a surprise baby shower today went to a fancy hotel for lunch and games etc it was lovely! Cheered me right up! I don't sleep anymore (good practice I'm sure!) so definitely being a bit moodier and more fed up. 37 weeks on Monday and happy for it to come any time after that to be honest!!! Have a feeling I might be in for the long haul though Sad eternal pessimist!

PotatosMum · 20/11/2016 07:20

Cabter I'm so glad things are going so well for you and mini canters.

Mayo gas and air is awesome! It's like being really hammered but without the hangover Grin staff in the ward where you go after having baby were brilliant too. Because I was so dizzy they took Arya and fed her for me etc. I can't believe I let them take her away now, it took a couple of hours until I felt human again, since then I think I've let her out of my sight a grand total of once!

Audrey bloody hell you've due Wednesday? Seems like only yesterday you got your BFP!

Miley teething is possible. Sometimes the teeth buds just shift and it's uncomfortable for them. Has he got a teether? Arya loves Sophie giraffe, also teething gell is amazing! I don't know if it really works but it certainly distracts Arya Wink

Arya slept 10pm to 5:30am last night. I love it when she does that!

Mileymoocow · 20/11/2016 08:19

We have a gummee glove (they looked brilliant and figured it would be easier for him rather than holding) I might put it on him today! We have baby bonjela so might try some just incase!

Prosecco was amazing. Only had 2 small glasses as still bfing but my god have I missed that stuff! I honestly could have cried with happiness haha! co5mo I hope you enjoyed yours too.

feefs baby shower sounds lovely! Smile hope baby feef doesn't make you wait too long

So Harrison is almost rolling. What the actual hell? He can push himself over with his legs and arms he just hasn't quite got it in the hips yet.

IndiX · 20/11/2016 08:44

Had a really tough few days. I think Autumn has reflux as she has been screeching for hours on end and being sick after most feeds. I thought she may have reflux a couple of weeks ago but she wasn't crying as much and it seemed to settle. The last few days she hasn't been able to be put down, been sick quite a lot after feeds and especially In the late afternoons-9pm she will screech the house down before passing out with exhaustion. I was so worried about her last night, the crying was so intense and hysterical so I phoned nhs111 and they booked me in to the out of hours. The Dr was pretty useless, he just did her pulse and temp which was fine and then said 'yeah it could be reflux but I can't give you anything for it and you'll have to wait until you can call your HV on monday'. My poor baby can't go through that crying for another day! She seems ok in the daytime until 4ish and then it starts.
Miley did Harrison have reflux? What were his symptoms and what did they give him?
Only good thing is she slept 10-5 last night, we both needed it!!

Miley I'm sorry to hear Harrison was upset, maybe it is teething? It's so hard know what's the matter with them and you just want to make them better.

I can't believe your due on Wednesday Audrey!!! I'm saying girl too Grin

Canters im so glad you are all doing well and are so happy. Such a lovely post. Don't worry if your hormones start going a bit crazy though in the next few days. They will settle again.

Feefs your baby shower sounds lovely!!

I feel like I've missed so much, I'll try and catch up on everyone else.
Hope you're all doing well x

IndiX · 20/11/2016 09:18

She's just had her feed and been sick A LOT but not cried?! I don't know what to do, I don't know if she is taking too much which is making her sick and she may have colic aswell which is why she screeches in the evening.
I'm now also considering putting her on SMA Staydown in the evenings as thought it may help? But I would like to keep her exclusively BF. I'm getting fed up thinking I can't help my baby.

Nevlet · 20/11/2016 09:51

Indi Bodhi has on and off reflux. His symptoms: fussing over feeding so acting hungry then acting like he is being fed posion haha, screaming during and after a feed, arching his back, and sometimes vomitting. The sick can seem like an awful lot and go quite far! Main thing that helps him is demand feeding which you will be doing anyway as she is breastfed and holding him upright for half an hour after a feed.
