Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! From morning sickness in the first trimester to the third trimester struggle of getting out of bed ( "walrus-ing"in our house), to actual real babies who are growing so fast! Discussion on the merits of sleepyhead and Ewan the dream sheep.

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Morning all,

Congratulations first and canters.

Meant to be getting ready for a funeral this afternoon... started this at 8am and am no further than having soaking wet hair clipped up. Bodhi is being a complete pain in the butt today I may just have to leave him to scream while I dry my hair soon. OH has invited everyone who doesnt want to go to the crematorium between church and wake back to our house as its closest place but has done nothing eg hoovering putting washing away. Angry

Sorry for the moan!

Sodasoda · 16/11/2016 11:15

Huge congratulations canters and first!

Jamjar12 · 16/11/2016 11:18

Congrats canters and first!! Great news Smile

AudreyBradshaw · 16/11/2016 15:28

I'm sorry for your loss Nev and sorry dh is being less than useful and Bodhi being a monkey.

Thanks bunch here's hoping!

Dh back from being charged, only took about 10 minutes. We are pressing charges backwards but have to go through the solicitor now. And at least the court date we have isn't my date for induction! Feels surreal, but, balls to it, nowt I can do. Made him have some breakfast and put him to bed.

Hands and feet, ankles have swollen again, feet are tight and painful. Feels silly asking but should I ring nhs 111? The gland in my groin has gotten bigger and more sore (sign of infection?) And all my joints are hurting especially my back, hips. Underneath of my bump is sore too but I'm assuming that's just because it's dropped. Don't know if I'm being daft and this is just end of pregnancy things.

Phone nhs stardrey. I hope you're ok, may be a stress thing? Definitely call them though just for reassurance if anything else x

Mileymoocow · 16/11/2016 19:35

stardrey how you getting on? Did you call 111? Hope you're OK Flowers

nev I hope you kicked OHs arse til his nose bled.

Anyone else using ww app with a prem? Mine seems more accurate using his actual DOB

I'm currently hiding in the bath. Harrison is crying for me whenever I give him to OH and OH is getting very upset Hmm so I've removes myself from the situation despite my controlling inner-goddess wanting to take Harrison and calm him down I fear I have a velcro baby. Is that possible at 9 weeks? I was over the moon to find out he has put on 6oz this week despite being poorly so he's now 12lb 4oz!

Hope everyone's well! And congratulations again to our new mums Grin

Evergreen17 · 16/11/2016 19:52

Ahhh just catching up on the thread still Smile almost there
Some of you already have your bubbas!!! SmileSmile

Feefeefs · 16/11/2016 20:33

Gorgeous advent calendar potato.

Congratulations canters delighted you have had such a positive experience.

Congratulations on the movement marmite, it was a good few weeks before I felt consistent predictable movement but it is so lovely. Even though it's more uncomfortable now I still love it, it always cheers me up feeling baby dance around.

Congratulations first!! Ellis is a lovely name.

That sounds miserable may particularly when you had made your decision. Hopefully they can help you come up with a plan which will help you feel comfortable.

Poor autumn and you indi!!

That sounds frustrating nev that's the kind of thing my DH would do too and just say "oh they won't mind" or something!

Hope things are going okay with you stardrey.

Had a cool bath and seeing how I get on miley I think I'm a smidgen run down. Maybe I just need some sleep. Depending on how I feel this evening I'll ring or not. Don't want to be mithering people unecessaily. Got a raging thirst and a mild headache so I reckon I've just caught a bug.

Well done on going in the bath and removing yourself. It will get easier I'm sure. Flowers

Thanks feef

Indi yup, you sound about right for a growth spurt. It won't last long, a couple of days of grumpy clingyness and she'll be back to normal.

Nev hope all went well with the funeral, getting ready sounds like an ordeal.

Audrey call nhs. Swelling during pregnancy is something you definitely need to have looked at ASAP especially if it comes with aching bump. Please ring them.

Miley I'm sure it's just a phase Harrison is going through which will pass eventually. Well done on the weight gain Grin

Arya helped me start the Christmas wrapping today... by help I mean, say and stared in mild fascination while I explained how to wrap a gift. She also lifted her head right up during tummy time for the first time. She's really lazy when it comes to tummy time and usually just lays there licking her play mat like a special case Hmm
I've noticed she's been really grumpy and clingy the past couple of evenings but she's due a growth spurt so I'm putting it down to that. It makes it a bit difficult to write though, speaking of which I've been contacted by a rice cake bar company asking if they can send me some samples to review... free food err ok then Grin I'm actually really chuffed, today rice cakes tomorrow who knows. Grin

Arya's got her next round of shots tomorrow. Last time she was OK but she's a little more self aware this time so who knows. I'm expecting grumpy baby in the literal sense.

I phoned, got sent to an out of hours. I've got a fucking massive sizeable cyst! Caused by hormones. And the swelling is apparently ok as my blood pressure is fine and I've no sparkly lights or whatnot. So it was a see how you go job. I didn't fancy anti-biotics and Dr said he wouldn't recommend them. He did prescribe sex though, Dh is delighted. For the prosoglastin Grin

Awww that made me giggle her licking her mat potato woohoo to neck strength though! And excellent work about the freebies!

PotatosMum · 17/11/2016 04:00

Audrey I'm so glad you're ok. You had me worried. Best do as the dr tells you Wink

Pinklily1 · 17/11/2016 06:43

Glad all is well stardry (apart from the cyst, obviously!)

Grat weight gain by Harrison Miley. How did Harrison do with being separated from you last night whilst you were in the bath?

I hope the funeral went as well as can be Nev and hat you kicked you OH up the bum to do some cleaning/sorting before everyone arrived.

Hope first and canters are doing well in the first few days of parenthood.

potato, the advent calendar is brilliant! Did you make it from scratch? You could get yourself a little business making them on the side (in addition to mummy hood and your other business!)

Indi, i think growth spurts around the six week mark are common.

may, so sorry you can't now have the birth you had hoped for. Its good that the strep has been discovered now though. My sister had it and it went undetected until after birth and she was very poorly. At least yours has been discovered and things can be planned appropriately. Does it look like your work will slow down anytime soon? When are you planning on starting mat leave?

Not long now until your 20 week scam marmite! Are you going to find out the sex of baby?

Hi ever, hope that you are well.

Evelyn is still fast asleep but I've had to get up to express as my boobs felt like they were going to explode Hmm. So i'm sat downstairs whilst OH and baby are still fast asleep.

Is anyone thinking of getting a Jumperoo for when their little one is a bit older? I've heard great things about them.

Hope everyone else is well.

PotatosMum · 17/11/2016 07:47

Pink I bought the advent calendar draws but made the 3D relief and did all the painting. OH and I did talk about making them to sell but it took so long that I'd have to charge a fortune Sad I'm posting a tutorial on how to make one in a couple of days Smile

I hadn't considered a jumperoo, I thought it had been discovered ages ago that that sort of thing was bad for leg development? I'll have to have a read up to see what the current advice is.

Right, it's injection day and Arya has insisted on waking up at the crack of dawn! I need to try and get anything I want to get done, done, before we go as I have a feeling I'll have a Velcro baby this afternoon.

Mileymoocow · 17/11/2016 10:47

Oh pink he was fine. I think half the problem is that OH hands him to me when he cries as he assumes he wants fed. My dad has bought Harrison a jumperoo for Christmas so I'm hoping it isn't bad for their legs! I imagine as long as they're not in it for hours on end it'll be fine (I hope).

potato poor Arya. I have heard 2nd round is no where near as bad so hopefully she will be ok

Audrey I'm so glad you're ok

Today is the first day I've felt like I'm too tired to cope Sad I feel awful for saying it but I could do with my mum having him for a while today just so I can sleep! I'm going to try bathing and feeding him in the hope that he'll go for a nap

PotatosMum · 17/11/2016 11:48

Miley It's perfectly normal to need a break, is your mum able to have Harrison for a bit? If so, go for it... I'm sure after an hour or two you'll feel yourself again.

I'm also sure the jumperoo is fine on their legs if they're not in it very long. It was just something that stuck in my mind. I must look it up!

So, second round of inoculations were definitely worse than the first! There was only one needle but it was about an inch long and Arya was so much more aware of what was going on. She didn't cry until a couple of seconds after the needle came out but then she properly sobbed huge tears for the first time in her life. She then grumbled all the way home before falling asleep out of exhaustion, she's curled up on the sofa next to me now out for the count.
I'm dreading the next round in a few weeks as there are 3 injections then!

If anyone wants a read I've reviewed Infacol on my blog grumpymum.co.uk/2016/11/17/infacol-review/

Feefeefs · 17/11/2016 12:06

Glad there was nothing major stardrey! That's funny about the sex prescription looking DH.

Sorry your having a rough day miley I hope you get a rest.

Had a massive boast of energy yesterday out of nowhere, haven't had energy like that throughout!! So did loads of unpacking and organising but ended up in so much pain then last night that I only slept for like an hour at a time Sad need to go meet some work people for lunch today and going to try not to do much else!!

marmitecheesetoast · 17/11/2016 13:00

Glad to hear you're ok Audrey and glad that you saw someone

Hope the funeral was as ok as can be Nev and that your OH bucked his ideas up a bit!

that's great news a company have contacted you about doing a review already Potato plus, as you say, free food! Grin
Poor wee Ayra (and you) hope she's a bit happier when she wakes up from her nap

Energy and organisation sound good Feefs but not the pain and lack of sleep! Hope you manage to take it easy today

Yup I am so excited Pink! (although also starting to get nervous again, like in the run-up to 12 week scan) We are planning on keeping it a surprise but both have moments of temptation to find out...!

Mileymoocow · 17/11/2016 16:50

marmite it's tough having a surprise but 100% worth it if you can manage! I was so excited to find out if we were blue or pink (I had my suspicions from early on he was a boy though - difficult pregnancy! Wink )

potato not available til Sunday. We managed a nap this afternoon so I feel infinitely better! Sorry the vaccination was hideous Sad how is Arya now?

feef take it easy lovely Flowers hope you have had a rested day.

We are officially in 3-6 months at 9 weeks which means tomorrow I'm going to have to take back some 0-3 Christmas outfits/clothes he hasn't worn and hope they have 3-6 left Shock Harrison and I have had a lazy day today, chilling in our pj's with the heating on and singing Christmas songs

Thread 13. TTC #1 Grads. Some of us still remember that thing called "a full nights sleep" for most, it's a mere memory.
marmitecheesetoast · 17/11/2016 17:18

Thanks Miley we both said from the start we would like to keep it a surprise but I think finding out if blue or pink definitely helps with the bonding in the meantime/getting my head round the fact there is actually a baby inside me?! I think we will probably stick with surprise though... I like the idea of it being something to keep you going through the birth it must be such an amazing feeling when you find out.

Sounds like you and Harrison had a lovely cosy lazy day, good you managed to nap and feeling better now

I need to do more driving practice tonight urgh

Feefeefs · 17/11/2016 18:40

Thanks miley and marmite. Pooped today.

If anyone saw on Instagram my workmates gave me a lovely big hamper today at lunch, because I work at the hospital that also has a maternity unit the taxi driver thought it was one of the new baby boxes the government are bringing in in January (Scotland) ha ha I don't think they'll be quite as nice as this!!

PotatosMum · 17/11/2016 20:49

Feef oh dear, hope the pain has eased now. At least you managed to do something productive. Your hamper was lovely.

Miley glad you're feeling better. Wow! Can't believe you're moving up to 3-6 already! We've just made the jump but Arya's in that awkward phase where 0-3 are to small and 3-6 are too big.Confused

Marmite you have more restraint than me. I couldn't wait to find out.

Arya has been grumpy, sleepy, Velcro baby all afternoon but she's enjoying music videos with her dad now.

Been spending the time while Arya's been asleep trying to monetise my blog (or at least put in some advertising applications)

BunchOfBobs · 17/11/2016 23:19

So sorry to hear Aryas 2nd ims were worse potato. They were much better for us but I too hear the third are the worst lot.

Your hamper looks lovely feefs.

They boys on this thread seem to be big Miley. Atticus is in some 6-9months already Shock

Atticus has his first trip to the cinema today. Odeon do a "newbies" showing that is baby friendly, volume is a bit lower and the lights are slightly brighter. He was an utter star and I got to see "A streetcat named Bob". There were some lovely old ladies at the showing who came over at the end to say hello, comment on how good he was and had a cuddle. They seemed super chuffed bless them.

PotatosMum · 18/11/2016 04:16

Bunch aww, your cinema visit sounds lovely.

Arya appears to have had a massive growth spurt since I put her in her 3-6 clothing 2 days ago. Then she was pretty much a squirmy thing in the middle of it who's legs didn't fit, now it's just a little bit big Shock it's unbelievable that they can suddenly grow so much but I remember that happening between newborn and 0-3 as well. Also, she now has a massive head! Confused
