They have started up again more painful than before. I'm just hoping this is a warm up & not baby in an awkward position which can stop and start things. Will see how it goes.

Emz32 · 28/12/2016 22:17

My body & this baby are on the wind up! It's been on & off all evening. Feel like such a drama queen!! Giving up & off to bed. This waiting game is killing me.

Bella1985 · 28/12/2016 22:33

Hang in there emz, I was so disappointed to hear that the 'contractions' I had been monitoring all Christmas Day were just 'tightenings' and midwives said they wouldn't have called it early labour! But here I am having cuddles with my baby!! It will soon be you too!

Good luck everyone still waiting!

I wonder how firsttimer is? I think her elcs was yesterday. Hopefully she is having plenty of baby cuddles now!

Oh Emz, nature can be so cruel. At least you know that it's going to happen soon and all this stop/starting will be over and a distant memory when you're holding your new baby!

Emz32 · 29/12/2016 12:27

I hope so! I was so frustrated lastnight that I got really upset but today I woke at 6.30 & didn't even feel pregnant! No aches or pains. Been for another long walk. Feeling more positive. Hoping we manage to go out for the dinner tomorrow that DH has organised for our anniversary. Actually, it's been really nice to spend the Christmas break just the 3 of us for the last time. Not sure how long DH will take as leave, he runs his own business with several employees so it'll depend on how things go.

For those BF or planning too, not sure if I mentioned it before but my lifesaver with DS (that saved me from fracked bleeding nipples, although they did get bit sore) was lanolin cream in a purple tube. It's expensive and sticky but you don't have to take it off to feed. Iv already bought several tubes.

LucySB123 · 29/12/2016 13:00

bella congratulations and well done you on an epic labour. Wishing you a speedy recovery and that all of you will be home soon.

I've just been into the DAU for my weekly BP monitoring. BP remains borderline elevated (140/97). MW gave me a sweep and given my history was seen by the senior registrar. They are managing me conservatively and have tentatively booked me in for an induction, although whether I have one tomorrow or the day or at all depends on the list of women and priority/need (I believe I am low down on the priority). Planned to go swimming but the MW tut-tut that idea saying I should conserve my energy and that I wouldn't be able to tell whether my waters have broken in the pool. ok. So just pottering about now trying to tidy up in case baby makes an appearance over the next few days.

SerialReJoiner · 29/12/2016 20:29

Bah. I hate waiting. I just feel like everyone around me is gearing up for a fresh start in January and I'm just treading water, unable to make plans. I went for a walk today with the dc, but my 3yo isn't very good on her scooter yet so I had to carry it for her a lot - lots of bending over and such. It was only a short walk, about 1.5 miles round trip, but I'm aching and fed up. I want to eat my feelings with fizzy drinks and chocolate but that doesn't actually improve my health/sanity/aching joints. So I just sit here, grumpy.

I did do some yoga stretches and exercises earlier, which helped. 40+2, whee!

happylass · 30/12/2016 08:23

Morning Ladies and huge congratulations Bella. Hope all is well and you are making a speedy recovery.
The consultant we saw yesterday was pretty uselesss. Initially suggested a sweep and another appointment in a week's time. We then questioned this as had been told not to go too far past EDD due to increased risk of the placenta deteriorating. She then said all looked well on the scan 2 weeks ago Hmm. DH kicked up a bit of a fuss and they reluctantly scanned me again. All was well but I've agreed to go in for induction tomorrow. I'd have held out for a few more days but DH is getting pretty stressed. It's really hard to know what to do for the best when even the so called experts can't agree!! Really hope that this baby starts making a move of his own accord today but it's not looking likely.
Hope everyone else is well and not too fed up!

SerialReJoiner · 30/12/2016 12:07

Good luck, happy.

I saw my OB today, had another sweep. Sadist!!! Let's hope the discomfort actually amounts to something.

colonolthirteen · 30/12/2016 12:26

Good luck happy its good that you managed to have another scan if only for your peace of mind both of you. I hope things get started for you soon. I have a sweep booked for Wednesday, hoping that I won't need it but trying not to get my hopes up every time I feel anything.

Emz32 · 30/12/2016 13:04

Happy, it's hard to know what to do. This time round I'm going to do what I think is best. I found advice from medical professionals with DS so confusing & overwhelming. 1 person would say 1 thing & the next person would contradict it. Trust yourself. I'm feeling much more positive & just waiting it out. Keeping everything crossed that baby waits for a couple of days. Very tired as we went out for dinner lastnight & I overindulged. The heartburn was horrific & I was so full I couldn't get comfy. My own fault.

After my false alarms I'm convinced I'm going to be last & kept waiting for this little monkey.

Emz32 · 31/12/2016 14:42

I'm still here & waiting. I don't know if baby has dropped but I now can't walk without constant Fanny daggers. Have wondered if baby is going to make a move tonight (the one night we don't have cover for DS). Managed to organise emergency cover for DS but not ideal so will see what happens.

How's everyone else? How are the lovely newborns. I was so convinced this baby would be born in December!

wilfrhodes · 31/12/2016 15:22

due today; absolutely no sign!

just as well as i had to go on antibiotics on thursday for an ear infection and the pain is keeping me awake at night. wretched timing and i was bored enough before becoming housebound!

emz can't go on too much longer! i'd race you but you will definitely win.

Emz32 · 31/12/2016 16:49

Ouch on the ear infection Wilf. I don't know. Iv had lots of signs but no baby yet. The only relief I can get is sitting on my ball.

SerialReJoiner · 31/12/2016 17:32

Went out with the family today, had a good afternoon but have been tucked up in bed ever since getting home again! I've had some contractions here and there but nothing consistent. It's so frustrating! I can't believe tomorrow is January. Sigh.

colonolthirteen · 31/12/2016 17:48

Emz wilf seriel I hope you're all doing ok. I just ended up in the assessment unit all afternoon and it turns out I'm 4cm dilated. On the way home now, hopefully this show will be on the road soon! Sending dilation thoughts to you all.

stealthbanana · 31/12/2016 18:08

Good luck everyone! colonol will you have a 2016 or 2017 baby?! emz serial and wilf I really hope things start to move for you soon.

Happy new year! 🎉🍾🎈

Emz32 · 31/12/2016 18:30

That's exciting Col. We are on the cusp on 2017. Will their be any babies on this thread squeezed into 2016? Iv had twinges all day but nothing more. Beginning to wonder if I will be heading for a sweep on 4th Confused

SerialReJoiner · 31/12/2016 18:55

4cm! That's nearly halfway already!! Good luck tonight.

wilfrhodes · 31/12/2016 19:14

good luck col, perhaps babycol will squeeze under the wire for 2016...or be the first born in 2017?

Emz32 · 01/01/2017 00:33

Happy New Year. I'm having a baby in 2017! Hopefully not too long to wait.

Firsttimer16 · 01/01/2017 01:22

Hi all, introducing Joseph Otto! You can see how funny his legs are from being breech! (But super cute dimples!) ELC went fairly well, all very calm and orderly - not quite what I had expected from labour! I lost quite a lot of blood in the op though, so I ended up fainting quite dramatically the day after while trying to get up. Came home late last night finally which has been so nice, but I'm really struggling with moving around which is a pain. Breast feeding seems to be going well though which was a worry of mine with a section and pulling baby out surprised! He's not settling well in a cot by himself though so last night was a long one!
Happy new year to you all and look forward to hearing your news!

Firsttimer16 · 01/01/2017 01:23

Oh and at 8lbs and 12 ounces I was super glad I hadn't listened to the midwife and risked going 2 weeks overdue then delivering a surprise gigantic breech baby!!! Shock

colonolthirteen · 01/01/2017 07:35

Congratulations firsttimer those are beautiful dimples! Glad you had an easy time of it.

So yesterday I got sent home from the MAU because I was no longer having contractions. Overnight I've had only very minor twinges and this morning absolutely nothing. My family want me to go in and get my waters broken but I know this could lead to induction and I really don't want that. Totally not sure what to do. Lots of blood (from the show, nothing more). So no news here! I hope everyone else still hanging in there is having a comfortable time.

colonolthirteen · 01/01/2017 07:36

Oh and happy new year of course!
