That made me chuckle about being over the border happylass Xmas Grin I think it would be weird if we had a baby in England too, not that it matters really, it would just be strange to have England on the birth certificate as place of birth rather than Wales! Have a lovely time and hope things hold off for you!

That sounds like a good idea Happy. Did make me laugh at the image of DH dragging you over the border.

Iv been awake since 4am. Not sure why, just wide awake. Tried sleeping & nothing. Just got up for a wander & my bump has shrunk. It looks tiny. Baby is moving so not sure what's going on. Getting stabbing cervix pains just standing so wondering if baby has finally dropped into fully engaged? Supposed to be taking DS to a soft play party in a few hours. Hope my waters don't break there as it's an hours drive from home Confused

Bella1985 · 17/12/2016 14:18

Wow emz keep us posted! It's a busy day for us here, lots of visitors which is nice, but very tiring!

Emz32 · 17/12/2016 14:42

I got up very early & paced the living room. By 10am I was shattered & went for a nap. Things stopped then. I have spent the rest of the day pacing, bouncing on ball & doing some yoga positions. Now taking DS to park so will see if a walk helps. Fed up now.

stealthbanana · 17/12/2016 14:46

Ah! Good luck emz.

I went to the osteopath last night and it really helped. Went to aqua aerobics this morning and was breathing much easier. BUT I just had a small amount of light brown discharge. Aaah! Have raced back to my computer to keep working just in case it's the start of something Grin

colonolthirteen · 17/12/2016 14:54

Good luck emz and stealth!

Emz32 · 17/12/2016 15:05

That's exciting Stealth. Will keep you updated.

Emz32 · 17/12/2016 16:31

I have a horrible feeling this is going to be the longest pre-labour in history. Getting contractions & cramps, then they just Peter out

Bella1985 · 17/12/2016 19:39

Oh emz it sounds so frustrating for you! Can't believe how long it is dragging on for. They certainly don't show this side of labour on tv and film!

And stealth that's exciting to have something that looks the start of it all.

I'm starting to feel a bit jealous as I have zero signs that its happening anytime soon. I'm only 38+1 with first baby so I guess there's no reason for it to be happening now but I sort of feel like this is the perfect window pre-Christmas. And as of Thursday, I'll be hoping for things to stay put until after Christmas! Xmas Smile

Just checking in - exciting stuff Emz and Stealth. We could have babies on this thread very soon!

Happy and Bella - there's nothing wrong with being born in England Wink

Any signs of movement Happy, Bella or Col?

Nothing here, but baby is still breech so I'm booking in for a c-section on Thursday. They are staying I should only need to be in for 48hours so will be discharged on Christmas even (all things being well). Scary and exciting times ahead!

LucySB123 · 17/12/2016 21:47

I'm feeling a bit left out too. No signs here of impending labour. I'm now more pregnant than I've ever been with DD who came at 37wks. To be fair, I had no signs with DD's labour either - I was comfortable enough to go to the gym just before my waters broke with her.

First week of maternity leave and I'm beat. The nursery is set up now - cot up, clothes washed, new guest bed ordered. I forget what an active social calendar 3 year olds have - just this week we've had a nativity play, christmas fair and playdate. I managed to host a lunch for some of my mummy friends on Thursday as well. Saw the MW yesterday and heard baby on doppler, seems to be very cosy inside as head isn't engaged yet Xmas Shock. I've started raspberry leaf tea, sprinkling chilli on my food and walking as much as I can, but nada, I haven't felt anything yet.

How very exciting admarks emz and stealth we could be getting the first baby on the thread before Christmas!

stealthbanana · 17/12/2016 22:03

Wow admarks, you're all set! Fx for the 22nd.

I don't think anything is going to be happening anytime soon with me. Nothing other than that little bit of blood. And my braxton hicks of course. Baby has been very quiet all today and I contemplated calling the hospital but he's just had a burst of movement so I think it's probably OK. Am wondering whether whatever the osteopath did created some room so I haven't felt him wriggling around so much today.

Bella1985 · 17/12/2016 22:42

Well that's exciting news admarks! What a fabulous Xmas present!

Glad to hear the osteopath has helped with the pain stealth and wow lucy that's a lot of stuff to complete in your first week of mat leave!

stealthbanana · 18/12/2016 02:47

Jeez I think I spoke too soon. Lost my mucus plug just before midnight and have been having cramps or contractions every 10-15 minutes since. Let's see if they go anywhere. Haven't called hospital yet but will in the morning if nothing has progressed. Trying to rest but it's hard!

stealthbanana · 18/12/2016 07:07

Well I am in hospital ladies...I am definitely
in labour! Can't believe I didn't even manage one full day on maternity leave Shock. It's all pretty chilled out here, we have a nice room and they've brought DH a fold out bed so he can lie down and have a snooze when he wants.

Am only 2cm dilated but contractions are coming every 5mins or so, so they're keeping me here. Waiting for a little bit but will get the epidural put in soon as the contractions are already quite intense. Probably won't be through all this until tonight but baby stealth will be here today or the early hours of tomorrow I think. Catch you on the flip side!

colonolthirteen · 18/12/2016 07:24

Ahhhhh stealth! How wonderful, I hope everything is going ok for you, can't wait to hear how it all goes. Huge good luck thoughts to you for an easy time.

happylass · 18/12/2016 07:49

Oh Stealth how exciting! Will be thinking of you. Great to hear that things are happening for admarks and emz too.
Bella I'm with you. I know we have very little control over these things but I either want this baby here now or I'd rather wait until after Christmas. I think for that reason I'm going to decline the second sweep this week. I haven't even managed to get in touch with my community midwife yet to arrange it but clinic isn't until Wednesday afternoon so I doubt it'd be done before then. Will ask if it can wait until after Christmas. Saying that I've had quite a lot of cramping and a few twinges and I'm seriously struggling to walk at all now. We've come away to Warwick but we're just going to spend the morning in Leamington Spa then head home rather than going on to Birmingham, so I can start to get things sorted. Anyone know if it's possible to pick up a maternity TENS on the high street? My Doula is meant to be providing one but she's waiting for new pads to arrive so would rather have a back up plan just in case!
Look forward to hearing the baby announcements on here in the next few days!

Emz32 · 18/12/2016 08:26

Stealth, such exciting news. Iv woken to fairly regular cramps but not getting my hopes up. Hopefully some baby news on here soon!

LucySB123 · 18/12/2016 09:06

All the best stealth

Bella1985 · 18/12/2016 10:12

Good luck stealth

can't believe we're at this stage - it's so exciting! Smile

OP posts:
Emz32 · 18/12/2016 10:22

Sorry Happy I don't know anything a TENS machine. I don't know if you will find one in somewhere like boots though.

I'm trying not to feel fed up. This waiting & having cramping & contractions feels like waiting for the tube. You feel the rush of warm air & get ready for the train to pull in only for nothing to happen. Feel so impatient but I know these negative feelings are not helping. I'm just so tired of barely any sleep. Should really be pleased that I'm getting used to no sleep already Shock

Bella1985 · 18/12/2016 10:37

Same here happylass no idea about TENS machine, I'd imagine Boots would be a good bet. Or another large pharmacy like co-op.

Oh emz I can't even begin to imagine how annoying it must be for you.

Positives: originally you were petrified your baby would be premature and that caused a lot of worry, well I think this one is pretty well cooked (as is all of ours on this thread thankfully) so that's something for all of us to be positive about Smile I also think I'll miss having a bump and feeling my baby inside. I'm going to take lots of photos today of my belly to treasure this moment. In order to keep positivity going I'm trying not to symptom spot today and just enjoy Christmas with my family and friends.

I've got a new countdown now too, rather than counting down to due date, I'm counting down to induction day (jan 11th) as that is the furthest I'll be allowed to go and I'm slowly driving myself mad expecting the baby to show up any day. I want to enjoy this last stage!! "I will enjoy these last days as a pregnant lady" Grin

OP posts:
Emz32 · 18/12/2016 11:18

You are right Bella. Not only will this baby not be premature but this time last year we were dealing with a missed miscarriage & the aftermath of surgery. I have a lot to be thankful for. Iv decided to be more positive & relaxed. Enjoy this time with DS being my primary focus. It's going to be harder with 2. 17th Jan is my absolute cut off. Less than a month to go!

stealthbanana · 18/12/2016 13:34

I'm 5cm dilated. Slowly, slowly. The epidural is BRILLIANT Grin Once they put it in I managed to sleep a bit which was very much needed given I'd had no sleep at all overnight.

TENS machine you can get from Amazon. You can buy the pads from there too - super quick delivery.

Good luck everyone!

Emz32 · 18/12/2016 13:50

Great news Stealth. Will keep my fingers crossed that this baby doesn't make you wait too much longer. So exciting
