Thread five for the chattiest bunch of preggers ladies you've ever had the pleasure of encountering. We're greeting the second trimester with excitement and apprehension, and lots of questions, humour, reassurance, empathy and advice.

Fourth thread here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2684139-february-2017-thread-4-are-we-the-chattiest-bunch-or-what

2many I'm so sorry!! Sending lots of love xxx

FlipperSkipper · 08/08/2016 13:41

Dreaming if you'll lose them if not then definitely take them! I still need to discuss my plans with my manager and HR, but I've had a good read of the staff handbook, which says if you don't take them you get paid for them.

Sparkles I'm very emotional, I'm having massive anxiety problems and feeling very down. I'm struggling so much that I've been thinking of asking for help, but I don't want to take medication so I'm not sure if there's any point.

FlipperSkipper · 08/08/2016 13:43

2Many I missed your post, I'm so sorry X

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 08/08/2016 13:49

2many, so sorry for your loss, hope you are getting the right support x

SBSparkles · 08/08/2016 13:49

Flipper sorry you've been feeling that way as well. Maybe just talking about it might help? I know I have more hormones because my face is like a pizza and boobs feel really full. I try to explain what it's like to DH by saying imagine the worst hangover when you feel like everything's shit and you don't like anyone and no one likes you and that's what hormones are like! It doesn't help I'm still waking every two hours to pee!!! (Ffs!!) I guess the key is to remember it will pass and to try to distract ourselves. Finding it very hard to get off the sofa today. DH saying he's 'worried' I won't be able to cope with a baby. SadAngry

SBSparkles · 08/08/2016 13:51

Shell ah sickness sucks!! Have you eaten something? Takes it off for me! Felt sick all morning till I had a panini! X

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 08/08/2016 13:52

Those who have their 20 week scans through, how many weeks will you actually be? I'll be 20+3 on mine, its 19th September.

DottyA · 08/08/2016 14:02

So sorry 2ManySweets. I hope you have lots of love and support. I miscarried at a similar stage earlier this year - lots of sympathy.

Sienna I'm also on the 15th, when I'll be 12+2.

kikisdelivery · 08/08/2016 14:24

2many I'm so sorry to hear that, lots of love Flowers xx

Witch91 · 08/08/2016 14:37

I'll be at 20+4 for my 20wk scan on 21/09 Keeping doesn't seem that far away really, although the 4.5 weeks from the 8 week scan to the 12 week seemed to take an age, so this will probably be the same!

Had a mysterious appointment through to see someone from the ante natal team at the hospital, so it's not my midwife or GP... Confused I am assuming it is the appointment with the consultant for having a high BMI, but it doesn't say anything on the letter except to bring a pee sample!

user1467983757 · 08/08/2016 14:39

Hi ladies. My 12 w scan was today. Baby moving well. I did get cub test results due week. I can finally believe I'm pregnant

FriendlyGhost · 08/08/2016 14:45

I'm so sorry 2many. I hope you're getting all the support you need Flowers

MimiDiddy · 08/08/2016 14:48

Shell I'm definitely getting that not real feeling despite 2 scans and and an expanding tummy. I've started quietly telling people at work, partly cos I'm getting a lot of tummy glances. A colleague did a big pregnancy announcement this morning in our own plan office, even though I'm due a month ahead of her and was filling out my mat leave form at the time, I still felt uncomfortable and it made me think about my losses. I just can't be that confident that everything will be all right and I'll be taking home a baby at the end of this. Sorry if that sounds a bit down but pregnancy throws up lots of emotions and I think all of them are pretty normal.

Roll on the kicks, I hope it'll feel me real then 😁

Summerflake · 08/08/2016 14:50

Hi everyone

I've been lurking right from the start but Hyperemesis meant I didn't feel able to join in. Finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel but still feeling fairly yucky most days :(

I'm due DC2 on 8th February :)

Sparkles it was your post that made me say hi. Trust me, it is a million times easier to deal with the baby than to deal with being pregnant. Pregnancy sucks, the hormones, the sickness, the joint pain.... Obviously once the baby is here it's not all roses and easiness, but it's better when you feel like yourself again.

FlipperSkipper · 08/08/2016 15:03

Thanks Sparkles. I'm definitely hormonal, and I think I'm finding it hard to come to terms with the fact we might be parents, after 5 IVFs and 2 miscarriages! My first couple of appointments are with a specialist midwife, so I shall try talking to her, hopefully she'll be understanding.

ScottishSnowflake · 08/08/2016 15:03

So sorry 2many Flowers

user1467983757 · 08/08/2016 15:04

2 many can I add my hugs to you. Sorry still to catch up on thread. X

Holly1987 · 08/08/2016 15:11

2ManySweets I am so sorry to hear your sad news Sad I've been in your position and know how hard it is to come to terms with it or even talk about it.
I hope you get the support you need and wish you all the best going forward.

I'm so nervous for Friday. I keep having nightmares, but just keep telling myself, third time lucky Star

Sienna9522 · 08/08/2016 15:18

So so sorry 2many Flowers

Dotty, I will be 12+6, it can't come quick enough!

ButtonTum · 08/08/2016 15:36

2many I'm so sorryFlowersFlowersFlowersthinking of you.

I'm feeling a bit emosh today too. MS (well, nausea) back with a vengeance, came home from work ill after an hour and I've spent all of the day in bed since and woken up feeling sad. It's nuts, I'll probs be bouncing off the walls tomorrow.

Keeping my 20wscan is on 27th sept, I'll be 20+3.

Re holiday over the period of mat leave, it's a bit mean if your work says you can't take them after you're away especially if your good at calendar falls Jan-Dec (as does mine). I'm planning on taking maybe 2 weeks before I'm due, then a week or so mat leave before EDD then using what's left of my 2017 leave to maybe come back to work 4 days a week so as to ease myself back in for a few weeks.

Anyone's hips aching already? Could not get comfortable last night.

ButtonTum · 08/08/2016 15:37

Good at calendar!? Holiday calendar.

SBSparkles · 08/08/2016 15:39

Flipper ah I feel for you I really do. We did one round of ivf and I don't know how people can do it again and again - it was so hard. I really admire you!! How many weeks are you now? I suppose hormones are a good sign though!!
Summer thanks so much for that - makes me feel a lot better! It's funny because I was recently thinking I hadn't had any random crying a voila!!

Just eating my body weight in confectionary and watching 'catastrophe' on 4od - has anyone seen it? Hilarious story of a couple going through pregnancy and raising young children.

MimiDiddy · 08/08/2016 15:39

Keeping I've got the same 20 week scan date as you and I'll be 20+3 too!

SBSparkles · 08/08/2016 15:41

Keeping mine is beg of Sept and I'll be 19+6

ScottishSnowflake · 08/08/2016 15:54

Anyone else got their 20w scan on 16 Sept? I'll be 19+5 then
