Hi all,

Just went for a curry and was so looking forward to it but as soon as it arrived I realised I would not be able to eat it Sad Have such a lack of appetite. Normally I eat really healthily and will always have salad for lunches but just the thought of vegetables turns my stomach when I usually love them! I'm craving salty foods and carbs- chips, mash potato. I really want my appetite back, it's so boring not being able to enjoy food, especially while I'm not drinking alcohol!

FuzzyOwl · 02/04/2016 23:40

Completely agree Twinkle. I, very heathily, had cheese on toast and a milkshake earlier and feel so bloated I can't comfortably sit up.

Thanks for the messages following our scan, has made it all a little more real now.

I always have to convince myself that it's better for me to eat something unhealthy and rubbish than nothing at all as I'm exactly the same with my cravings right now...

Just a quick one if anyone can help. My back pain is now so severe following standing at work that it's causing me tears! I still haven't heard from the midwife or started any kind of healthcare. In our area you give the receptionist your details and the midwife calls for the booking appointment at an unspecified date.

Am I best to just make a routine GP appointment on Monday morning? It's agony right now and I'm not sure what's safe to take for it!

FuzzyOwl · 03/04/2016 01:34

Definitely call your GP Jade because when I have had sciatica-like pains and things before in pregnancy, my midwife has just told me to speak to my doctor about either a prescription or to be referred for physio. Hope it eases soon.

funkky · 03/04/2016 03:18

Defo call your gp Jade. I remember in my last pg the physio referral was ages after I saw midwife and just went private. so the earlier you set the ball rolling the quicker you see a physio for it.

RaeSkywalker · 03/04/2016 06:35

As others have said Jade, call your GP.

I'm thoroughly fed up this morning. Slept really well even on the ward because I was exhausted. My levels have gone backwards now though which means they can't discharge me. A nurse had just had a bit of a go at me and said I need to be constantly drinking... how can I drink when I'm asleep?!

RaeSkywalker · 03/04/2016 06:37

I meant to also say above jade that my friends who have had back trouble seemed to find that the earlier they asked for help, the better they felt at the end of their pregnancy.

Fedupithink · 03/04/2016 07:37

Rae I'm sorry to hear that, did they expect you to wake every few hours to an alarm or something? Doesn't seem that helpful as you're exhausted and dehydrated.

Hope you manage to get back to the right levels and get yourself discharged soon.

I'm 8 weeks today and I've had my booking appt through, 14th April. Eeeek! I'll be 9 and a half weeks so the same stage I mc at last time. I just want my scan appt, as I'm back to worrying despite seeing a hearheat at 6+3.

likeawestern · 03/04/2016 07:42

Rae glad to hear you're feeling better. Hope you're levels come up quickly.

Copper tell them you have had a uti and are taking metronidazole - it can cause severe vomiting when mixed with alcohol you're told not to drink for 7 days after the course is finished.

I had a pretty scary day yesterday. Suddenly had loads of liquid discharge which, without going tmi, smelt strongly of amniotic fluid. Rang 111 for advice who sent me to a & e who told me to go home and see if I miscarry or to take a pregnancy test again in a few days and see if it's still positive. Apparently amniotic leaks can heal. Should be 8 weeks today. Now terrified Sad

RaeSkywalker · 03/04/2016 07:52

Fedup if they keep me in another night I am definitely setting an alarm! I've been messaging my friend who is a dr. He thinks I should've been taken off the drip this morning- obviously last night I wouldn't be able to do it. Glad you're got your appointment through!

likeawestern that sounds awful. Can you see your GP and ask for an early scan? Thinking of you Flowers

likeawestern · 03/04/2016 08:09

Rae I think that is what I will do - try and get an appointment first thing on Monday. Thank you.

ElleSarcasmo · 03/04/2016 09:49

Hello can I join too? Smile

I am due 29th November-some familiar faces here from the TTC thread

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time Rae, hope you're over the worst of it now.

Twinklelittlestar1 · 03/04/2016 10:17

Rae you poor thing. My friend told me of a girl in her antenatal class who had a similar experience to you, having to be kept in hospital. It seems so crazy that our bodies would make us that sick when we're trying to grow something. I hope that everything improves for you and you can get discharged soon. I really hate hospitals!

RaeSkywalker · 03/04/2016 10:33

Hi Elle! Congratulations. I was on the TTC thread Smile. Thank you- I am feeling better again, it's so unpredictable!

Twinkle I know what you mean. One of the nurses here has had it through all 3 of her pregnancies Shock. They've just told me if I can keep my lunch down they might let me go home this evening. I literally cried with relief. I am properly pining for home now Blush

Canters15 · 03/04/2016 12:04

How is everyone doing? I am a bit behind with the thread! Had a lovely evening out last night with friends, though didnt manage to eat much, bloody food aversions! Hoping to make it out for a walk in the sun this afternoon.

Glad you're feeling better rae I really feel for you!

bobcat85 · 03/04/2016 12:08

Had my early scan yesterday, bit worried as I had some spotting during the time my period was due. However, everything was absolutely fine and and there was a strong heartbeat so that's put my mind at rest. Guessing the spotting is just breakthrough bleeding or something. Only 4 and a half weeks and I can relax.

Also got my first midwife appointment on the 12th, all starting to feel more real now.

fuzzywuzzy · 03/04/2016 12:47

Hello everyone, been crazy busy & today for some reason I've started feeling really worried that I'm imagining being pregnant. I have no symptoms apart from sore boobs and hunger. Beginning to feel a bit scared about my scan on Friday.

Last night I was messaging dp (he's away), and I told him I really want a glider nursing chair, I wanted one since I was expecting dd1 but ex refused to let me get one (with my own money). I idly sent DP m a link to the chair I wanted five minutes later he sent me a screen shot of his order. He bought it! Was so so shocked and touched and tearful. I've made him promise not to buy anything else till after August. Scared & I don't want to jinx it.

Hope everyone is doing well. Will read thread now!

fuzzywuzzy · 03/04/2016 12:53

Oh likea can you go to your EPU so they can do a scan? That sounds so worrying for you. A friend of mine fell pregnant on the coil and it caused her waters to rupture, she was admitted to hospital and under observation and had a healthy baby, she also said apparently the waters to heal I don't know how far gone she was tho.

Rae hope you are allowed to go home today.

likeawestern · 03/04/2016 14:17

That's reassuring to hear fuzzywuzzy. Our EPU says you need a referral and I don't think I'll get anything out of ooh's. I'm taking it easy today and seeing my gp tomorrow, hopefully 1st thing. I hate waiting and seeing Hmm

Fedupithink · 03/04/2016 14:27

How are you doing JoMalones? Thinking about you as I realised I hadn't seen your name for a couple of days? I may of course just have missed you in amongst everyone else?

findingmyfeet12 · 03/04/2016 15:38

Hope everyone is feeling ok today.

My dm spotted a sale and has bought a bouncer, a travel cot and a play gym.

It feels too early but they were a bargain and dh and I are really grateful to her.

Is anyone else really nervous about the 12 week scan?

RaeSkywalker · 03/04/2016 16:28

Hello again! Just to let you know, I've been discharged. Home now about to have a shower! We're back at the hospital tomorrow morning for a scan to check all is ok at this stage (I'll be 8+3).

finding I think I would be very anxious about the scan, but it's kind of all washing over me at the moment! Your DM sounds lovely Smile

Fedupithink · 03/04/2016 17:19

That's amazing Rae take care of yourself and good luck for your scan tomorrow!

findingmyfeet12 · 03/04/2016 18:41

Rae glad to hear that you're home. Let us know how you get on at the scan.
