OK, OK, so we already had a couple of babies on the last thread, but we're going to struggle to keep up with the number of new arrivals in this one!!!

Congratulations rufus

XingXingFox · 02/02/2016 19:10

Congrats rufus though really hope the reaction stops soon!

I'm sorry gone you'll probably find out there's a reason when you have the section, at least you gave it a go.

madsaz76 · 02/02/2016 19:20

congratulations here too rufus

DH has recovered from his ridiculous takeaway induced pains, though I suspect is not enjoying visiting the bathroom today. I have decided I am justified in enjoying it. Will be easier to persuade him to eat more sensibly now Smile

Today sorted a huge (and I mean huge) mountain of odd socks. I have no idea how we accumulated so many......

HandbagFan · 02/02/2016 19:30

Congratulations Rufus! Lovely name, hope, you're back on your feet quickly!

goneswimming · 02/02/2016 19:32

Congratulations Rufus!
Yes, the consultant today said sometimes there's a good reason why babies won't turn. I'm just going to look forward to meeting my baby boy now!

Troika · 02/02/2016 20:00

Ah no rimming gold? Disappointing!

Admitted to my boss I was finding it hard today and we've agreed I'll finish this week instead of next. Bit gutted but the way I feel I wouldn't have the energy to go through labour otherwise, everything hurts this eve.

Troika · 02/02/2016 20:01

Congrats Rufus Smile

haquoi123 · 02/02/2016 20:01

That's great news troika, you deserve a rest!

Troika · 02/02/2016 20:05

Thanks haquoi. Just have to put up with her and dp saying 'told you so' for the forseeable! I never realised how physical my job is until the past few weeks.

Do think it's the right decision though, hopefully I will get some rest in next week so my body can do its thing more effectively.

Sighing · 02/02/2016 20:15

Flowers rufus fantastic!

MaryEllen1 · 02/02/2016 20:58

Just been to an open event at an underwear shop (friend of a friend owns it) they have maternity and nursing bra's got a lovely panache nursing bra in there for £25 as the others I've bought are not attractive or flattering so was nice to get at least one nice bra! Grin

troika good Idea finishing this week if you are feeling it no point over doing it! I've got till next Friday to go till i finish but an 36 weeks now so it could be a while before little one comes!

clarabellski · 02/02/2016 21:10

Congratulations Rufus and Maisie! I hope your recovery is going well Rufus Flowers

Love the name Fionn by the way, beautiful!

Hardly slept a wink last night due to period like pain (pretty sure not contractions as no rhythm). But the lack of sleep didn't seem to affect me today as I painted two coats on kitchen wall and reorganised some kitchen cupboards (including finding dead spider the size of a bloody dinner plate - if the heart stopping fright didn't put me into labour I don't know what will!!!). Is this nesting?!?

Gone sorry the ECV didn't work out for you Flowers

My little boy arrived yesterday morning by ELCS. All straightforward and he's gorgeous. We are home now and I'm bracing myself for cluster feed night number 2!

Phoenix80 · 02/02/2016 22:09

Congratulations Nectarines xx

MidnightRun · 02/02/2016 22:47

Congratulations to all the newest arrivals! This is the most lovely news hearing about all these little babies! ThanksGrin and they are all getting such gorgeous names! Xx

Mawsymoo · 03/02/2016 00:26

Congratulations to rufus and maisie and all the other new arrivals. rufus I had the itching both times - it's very common - they gave me antihistamines but it wears off within a couple of days anyway.

We've had a rough couple of days here - I have mastitis and DS2 seems to have colic . DS1 is getting his back teeth so the whole house is fraught. Are we getting a new thread soon to moan in?Wink

Troika · 03/02/2016 06:32

Congratulations to nectarines too. Babies arriving thick and fast already!

Mary Ellen I'm 38+3 so I've given it a good shot, just wish I could have seen it through til the end of term.

Mawsy I hope your mastitis clears up soon, not nice. Ah colic, not looking forward to that joy either, exhausting. Especially if you are not 100% yourself Flowers

So yesterday I was so achy and tired that I didn't pay attention to movements. Did notice that I ate my dinner without having to leave half because baby was kicking my stomach but tbh was relieved. Went to bed at 9ish with a codeine tablet for the pain in hips and legs. Then at 4am I got up and drank a glass of coke as I had been lying there in a panic worrying that she wasn't moving and I had been too self absorbed yesterday to notice the change in movements/that I had killed her with codeine. Thankfully the coke did the trick and she has been booting the hell out of me ever since.

RattyCatty · 03/02/2016 07:21

Yay congratulations on babies arriving!

Margaret was born yesterday after a loooooong labour! Nearly 9lb and rushed to theatre for a forceps or c section but luckily forceps worked. So tired but v happy!

Phoenix80 · 03/02/2016 07:55

Yay, congratulations Ratty xx

XingXingFox · 03/02/2016 08:06

Yay for ratty was wondering about you!

haquoi123 · 03/02/2016 08:12

Congratulations ratty and nectarine!! Come on baby haquoi, let's join in shall we?

Sorry to hear things are tough mawsy. Have you got support at home?

I've had similar movement worries troika, although now he's not stopped since having the reflexology yesterday. Apparently they can seem to reduce moving a little before they're born (but obv shouldn't be ignored if we're worried).

Is anyone else struggling with swelling? My fingers got so bad last night that I can't really bend them - it's less that the fingers have swelled and more that my joints have seized up... Still can't bend my thumb properly...

madsaz76 · 03/02/2016 08:19

Congratulations nectarines & ratty

I think I've probably lost my bottle. I don't feel in any hurry at all now despite being 39 + 3

I don't know if it's because I put a lot of work in psychologically at the beginning to accept being overdue or if the reality has hit home! However now baby turned I am much more comfortable, am pretty sorted at home and I am actually enjoying these last few days of pregnancy.

I aware this is wierd and fully expect you all to laugh in 48 hours when I turn up moaning again Grin

haquoi123 · 03/02/2016 08:34

mad it's not weird at all. I feel the same sometimes and other times desperate to go into labour! But definitely enjoying this part of pregnancy more than any other part and I'm definitely going to miss my bump and having bubs be part of me, feeling his wriggling.

monkerina · 03/02/2016 09:10

Saz and Haquoi I feel the same- I kinda know where I am now with pregnancy, but looking after a baby is a whole unknown quantity so I'm quite happy to stay pregnant... but really want him to get here too! He's also never really got into a pattern with movements and seems to be fairly quiet (or I'm very insensitive to him) so it'd be quite nice to be actually able to SEE he's OK...

Sighing · 03/02/2016 09:35

I think i lost my nottle a bit too. I am in 36 weeks (both daughters were38 weeks) so I'd started to think about ramping up eviction proceedings soon. But ... i find that i'm too nervous/ anxious over birth/ sleepless (even more sleeplessness) can wait. I even have been wondering about overdue and getting half term out of the way first! (I could even organise the loft!)
