Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 43rd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 42nd grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 56th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. (Except it's not because I don't know how to link to the stats sheet!)

Baby shopping is LOADS more fun second time around when you've either got all the stuff you love or know what to avoid because you know you hate it!

Ok it's official. My mum drives me bat shit.

I just picked DS up from spending the arvo there and I swear to god she makes me feel as if I'm competing with her sometimes.
And honestly, the amount faces she pulls at the fact it might be another boy makes me want a boy just to spite her!

Aaaaaaaaaand breathe

Lol Thursday! Frustrating for sure. Personally my dad has said he'd really like a grandson. He currently has two nieces and obvs dsis and I are both preggers with unknown sex. Part of me thinks it would be amusing if they are both girls, but mainly so dad doesn't favour one over the other. He wouldn't do it intentionally... It's a welsh thing he says. "My Boy" is very much peak of parenting for him. Also, they are more likely to GAF about boats and trains. Rather than princesses and fairies that fascinate his current grandchildren!

We have a lot in the way of vests. And several baby grows. Shower next weekend so we'll see!

Sat with midwife friend today and went through the birth options pages in notes. Very thorough and brutally honest. Felt like she listened to me and understood my concerns re scar tissue. Essentially answer was "yeah, you might tear. We won't know until we try. But we suture vaginal wall tears all the time. And they heal really well. And if we can see it isn't going to happen, we'll section you." Which is actually really reassuring. She also supported my "give ne an epidural" stance, although did the standard warnings about side effects. But as I said, I DGAF if I have more interventions or it takes longe because of epidural, because I won't feel it!

Also promised that if she is working whist I'm on post natal she'll try to get me discharged quickly (if appropriate) rather than hanging around for hours on end. Yay!

pretzelpieces · 07/01/2016 21:50

Thursday that sounds very annoying! BrewBrewBiscuit and yep I can imagine baby shopping is better when you know what you definitely want. I'm erring on the side of buying less as I figure the shops will still exist after she's born.

honey and Thursday my dad has two daughters and a niece already. When I told him I'm having a girl he threw a brief strop about being totally outnumbered but really I think he feels special that he and the dog are the only boys! Mother outlaw had three boys so she will be smothering the poor mite in pink the moment she's born Grin

Thanks for the luck everyone. Baby is... Head down!! glitter cannons So the induction is booked, it will be three weeks today, on jelly's due date! How cheeky! I'm also allowed a sweep in two weeks, lucky me. I've been given a colostrum harvesting kit and talked through that as well. Sounds like a faff and a half. Shit is getting reaaaall

honeysucklejasmine · 07/01/2016 22:21

Aaah, you're having a baby in three weeks?! Mental!

KeepTheHope · 07/01/2016 22:32

Brilliant news pretz. Three weeks!! Loads of little jsing babies recently Grin so exciting.

lildottie · 07/01/2016 22:38

That's great pretz. So nearly time to drink all the rlt, codliver oil and eat all the hot curries you can find! Hopefully ylou won't make it to induction and will sneeze baby out instead.

Think it was fruit who asked if I'd started buying? Not yet really. I've bought the Zita west pregnancy relaxation CD because I found the ivf one really helpful and I've bought some maternity clothes and the humidifier we were all discussing on fb group but that's it. Scan 26/1 then emptying the hand me downs out of my mums loft early Feb and making a wish list for people who want to buy us stuff and will decide what we want to buy ourselves. Prepare for lots of questions!

I honestly can't remember what has been said as its taken me so long to read all f today's posts! Im sure I was going to say something to niff...

Oh yes I like the which idea! That was it. Might give that a go when we are more organised!

pretzelpieces · 07/01/2016 22:45

honey well she probably won't be here for three and a half weeks, cause induced labours tend to take so long, ugh! Hmm but yeah it's still bloody soon!

keep I know, it feels very different when people are taking about my baby arriving soon! Suddenly much scarier!

lil hells yeah. Midwife said "sex, lots of sex", I might actually get re-de-virginified as I haven't dtd since my bfp! I've forgotten which bits go where tbh. Obstetrician also said to eat dates and drink raspberry leaf tea (do they sell that at Holland and Barrett?). She said pineapple has some evidence too but it's too high in sugar for the likes of me.

pretzelpieces · 08/01/2016 06:21

Pregsomniaaaaa

Nefertitts · 08/01/2016 06:46

Hi pretz - it lunchtime here! I've made it out of the flat and have just had a massive pizza and tiramisu lunch. Every meal I think 'well I might go into labour so I should eat plenty...'. Not sure if this principle is a good idea or not but I enjoyed my tiramisu.

Good that you have clarity on a timeline for babypretz now and you can start getting your head around it. I think not knowing what's happening is one of the most tricky things at the end of pg - so hopefully now you know you can look out for positive induction birth stories. They are out there! I've been looking some up this morning too given micro's refusal to shift.

And you can start to look forward to masses and masses of cake. And bread. And pasta. And cake.

And ice cream.

Lil, 5hell, I totally recommend the which? approach to life. If which? would form a political party with the Economist magazine I'd totally vote for it. But I am a civil servant so I like someone else to come up with a well-tested range of options for me so that I can choose the lowest risk of them and don't have to take any chances. I did genuinely find it useful for things like buggies - they have recommendations for different lifestyles etc. We need something rugged for crap pavements, but foldable for airports, but we still won't use it much, so for us the babyjogger city mini gt was a great choice (hopefully).

Gouda, anything happening baby watch buddy?

40 weeks today! Time's up! Today I have lower back pain. Could this be microniff thinking about coming out? Or perhaps I just need a poo - still constipated Hmm. Exciting times viroids... DH remarked last night that I have basically just become one with the baby - I sleep, eat, try to poo, and whinge (well, he didn't say whinge, but it is true). Send me dilatory, contracty thoughts!

honeysucklejasmine · 08/01/2016 06:57

Ha ha ha Niff, that is a good observation for late pregnancy! Congratulations on 40 weeks! Come along MicroNiff, nows the time!

Pretzel epidural. Then you won't care how long it takes. Wink

pretzelpieces · 08/01/2016 07:06

Come on microniff get your arse in gear!

Happy due date niff Grin I am definitely making big cake plans. All the weight I haven't gained this pregnancy? I'm gaining asap afterwards thanks to all the carbs I'll be scoffing.

honey epidural is definitely an option if I need it. Sounds like if the induction requires a drip I might well do. Have put it on the birth plan! that no one will read

Nefertitts · 08/01/2016 07:10

There is no way I am being induced without an epidural. Even though I instinctively hate the idea of not being able to feel what's happening... LACK OF CONTROL aaaaaaaaargh!

ThursdayLastWeek · 08/01/2016 07:23

Happy due date niff!

I have got plasterers coming to do our house, the school visit for DS AND preggo Pilates today. Busy busy busy.

Try not to worry about the induction pretz. If mini pretz is in the right position then there's no reason for it to take too long. The first 12 hours of mine were boring as fuck, but then things really got going.
Remember, they wouldn't be doing it for no reason Thanks

Exciting though. Your baby is nearly here!

Mines coming in 8 weeks.

jellypi3 · 08/01/2016 09:04

Happy due date niff!!! Grin

pret yay for her being head down, that's fantastic news :) I can't believe you are being induced in 3 weeks! Did they say how much she currently is estimated to weigh?

I'm going to start some of the "get this baby out" techniques I think. RLT is on my list, as is shagging (although going solo is just as good pret, it's the oxytocin release that's meant to get baby moving). The pineapple thing is a bit of a lie, you'd have to eat something akin to 8 full pineapples a day to get the right levels of bromine to make anything likely to happen!

I don't think Jelly-Baby will be early though. I'm still quite high so she's not fully engaged yet!

Met up with my NCT group yesterday. They were surprisingly filthy out of the classroom setting. I liked it! One has already popped (ELCS) so we are going to meet weekly and see how fast it dwindles!

Also I actually got some semblence of sleep last night!! I woke up about 4 times to pee, but overall managed a solid 7-8 hours. Weirdly I feel tired still today...

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 08/01/2016 09:57

pret congratulations, that all sounds like fantastic news!! I never really understand why the UK is so anti epidurals overall. Three weeks today!!! It must be awesome to have a proper end date in sight, even if you would rather it kick in naturally.

Since the walking, pineapple juice and spicy food seem to be doing fuck all, I might need to up my seduction game. Me hissing "SEX CAN BRING ON LABOUR SO LET'S TRY THAT OKAY?!?!" at DH last night didn't quite convince him to get his pants off. Shocking.

jelly what about pineapple juice? Like, ten pineapples squashed into one glass type thing? Would that work, or is the chemical in the actual flesh? I hope it's the same because frankly french shares in pinneapple juice must be seeing a ten year high with the amount I'm consuming.

Niff - ahahahahah we have exactly the same attitude to food at the moment! Grin Every meal I'm paranoid it will be my last for hours and hours on end. No update on this side. I get the random back pain and twinges, then get excited, then fuck all happens. Sometimes when it gets really quite painful, it turns out to be gas Hmm.

For other ladies around their due dates, have you noticed an improvement in the toilet arena? I'm not having the opposite problem, but it seems like I'm not having a problem with constipation anymore, which is amazing considering it's been an issue since basically the second I conceived.

honeysucklejasmine · 08/01/2016 10:07

Midwife friend recommended essential oils for bringing on labour or speeding it up. Apparently they have to have quite strict rules on them being used in antenatal assessment areas, as there is a mix of people wanting to start labour, and other people they are desperately trying to prevent it starting.

I am a bit cynical but she's a very sensible person and said it was incredible.

I know PixieChops knows all this shizzle... She posted it on FB this week if you want to give it a go.

jellypi3 · 08/01/2016 10:22

honey there's one aromatherapy oil in particular that can bring on labour I think but I don't know what it is. Our NCT teacher mentioned it but she didn't say what it was specifically.

gouda i think it has to be actual pineapples, it's something in the flesh so the juice is no good. I think it has to be fresh too, not tinned.

Also, I was going like a pro until the past two days where i've suddenly become constipated again. I love this pregnancy malarky!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 08/01/2016 10:59

Another vote for epidurals over here... best thing about the whole labour with DD.

Nefertitts · 08/01/2016 11:02

It's clary sage for labour but pixie said you had to have started contractions to use it Sad. Which is a shame, I have a bottle just waiting to be basted all over me. I wonder if my secret unnoticeable contractions count?

Here they reckon papaya salad can bring on labour. Well, unripe papaya. Trouble is they make the somtam so spicy... I don't think the double ring of fire is an experience worth risking.

I'm getting the same as you Gouda -odd pains and twinges, but possibly just wind or the baby shifting and poking my cervix.

ThursdayLastWeek · 08/01/2016 12:06

I'm a total cynic with regards to self-induction thingys.

IME (and I do mean only my own obviously) they're all utterly pointless Grin. I include sweeps in this too.

OP posts:
5hell · 08/01/2016 12:25

gouda perhaps it's the pineapple juice making you more regular? ...better than nowt i guess :)

jellypi3 · 08/01/2016 12:36

I'm kind of with you there thursday, although I want them to be true my rational head is telling me it's all crap and baby will come when she's ready

FeatheredTail · 08/01/2016 12:54

Jeez, how amazing does this look? I'm getting one for Micro Feather and I'm going to look into developing an adult version for me....
