Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 41st grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 40th grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 55th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

PMA. PMA.PMA!

Anyone bought a Doppler? I feel I need to replace my poas addiction with something lol

Jcandy · 30/11/2015 20:49

I feel for you carrot!

I've been on the RLT for the last 2 weeks, increasing as I go. No sex so far, the pelvic pain is putting me off trying! Got to 7.75cm on the epi-no but had a little bit of fresh blood today and Saturday (the last time I did it) so think I might have to stop for a couple of days Sad

The pains I had today (hard bump, constant crampy pains) have made it feel all the more real. Think it was probably BH ramping up but made me wake up to the fact that this will be happening for real soon!

Good luck for Friday lil

oneyorkshirepud · 30/11/2015 21:58

Eep, that is a bit scary JC, I am still completely in denial that I am actually going to have a baby ha ha! Baby is very active tonight and is pushing downwards. Stay where you are little bean, I'm not ready yet!

Lil, breathe my dear. The couple of days before my 12 week scan were the most anxious of my pregnancy so I know how you feel. However, you had a healthy scan at 8 weeks, with a heartbeat, and nothing has happened to suggest anything else than a healthy baby. I know it's really difficult when you can't feel baby yet but you are growing a decent bump which suggests you are growing a baby too! If you bought a doppler chances are you wouldn't be able to hear the hb yet anyway, most mws don't listen for the hb until at least 16 weeks as it can be tricky to find with a doppler before then. Also mws do not recommend people using them later on as they can lead to false reassurance e.g. when mums are worried about reduced movement etc. Keep busy for the next few days and plan something nice to do with DH on Fri to celebrate your scan, we are all looking forward to the scan pics of baby Lil! Big hug and a gentle hooya. Flowers

pretzelpieces · 30/11/2015 23:07

Ah thanks pud, maybe I'll start at 35 weeks! (Especially if I might be getting induced at 38 weeks!) Maybe when you're closer to due date the hormones will make things a bit stretchier?

Re: bras. Yearns for tiny boobs so much Envy

Squee, good luck for scan on Friday lil, I reckon everything will be fabulous.

Caused a drama on a bus today. Driver had to stop as I came over all sweaty and faint and weird. Thought I was going to die, puke and faint all at once! He let me off for fresh air while all the uni students stared out the windows. Blush I'm fine now, and mini pret has been plenty wiggly today. I may need iron tablets, not sure the spatone is cutting it but really reluctant to have more gut weirdness (definitely more hurty and farty since being on 2 metformin a day).

pretzelpieces · 30/11/2015 23:20

Bus driver asked if he could call anyone for me, bless him. I was like "I'm literally on my way to the hospital right now". Grin

MollyBloomYes · 30/11/2015 23:21

Lil dopplers are for fun only. If you can trust yourself just to use for a bit of a giggle (and never being quite sure if you're picking up the baby's hb or the pulse of the placenta I had the Angel sounds one which (combined with the gel) was pretty good and not too expensive. Do not get the summer infant one, rubbish!

I'm sure there'll be bursaries etc out there think I need some more adult experience anyway to fast track onto masters. Good to have a goal in mind when looking at options this year anyway.

MollyBloomYes · 30/11/2015 23:22

And pretzel ha bet he was relieved you were about to be with medics! Not a nice thing to happen though, my sympathies!

pretzelpieces · 30/11/2015 23:54

Thanks molly! Sounds like a good plan, good to move in the direction you want even if you're not sure of your exact destination yet. (That sounded a bit woo didn't it, sorry.)

Niffertiti · 01/12/2015 06:56

Chill lil - easier to say than to do I know, I was a nervous wreck before my 12w scan. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of a cute lilbean on Friday though! All the signs are good. I got a home Doppler and found it a good way to make baby seem more real before I could feel anything/had a proper bump. But as Molly said they are for fun only! I got mine off amazon and it wasn't too much. There are some good YouTube videos of relatively sensible people showing you the difference between the sound of the placenta and HB and your own veins and arteries. Haven't used it since 20w when microniff started beating me up of her own accord though, so it's a pretty short-term investment.

'Project fatten microniff up' has led to some serious fattening up of niff too. I had a bit of a scare a few weeks ago when it looked like she was way off weight. Growth scan confirmed she's small but within normal range but I was told to eat more. Well, eat more protein. I have thusly been stuffing my face the last few weeks. Porker. Next doctors appt on Sunday, we shall see...

jellypi3 · 01/12/2015 07:47

Morning all!

lil I'd avoid a doppler if I were you. No offence meant here but you aren't trained to use it. My mw hates the fact you can buy them so easily because they see women who use them and don't find a heartbeat so panic and there's nothing wrong, or conversely people who find a "heartbeat" when baby isn't moving as much and it turns out there was a problem and should have been seen to. I'm sure Friday will go fine, I'm literally keeping everything crossed for you.

So jc pud and molly (and niff??) you are all totally having babies this month!!!! Ahhh crazy! And I'm totally having one next month! This is scary times haha.

jellypi3 · 01/12/2015 07:51

Sorry niff just saw your due date is Jan not dec!

FeatheredTail · 01/12/2015 08:50

I'm not getting a Doppler as it caused my sister no end of anxiety when she used hers. Also having as my baby's heart listened to over 10 times in the last week, I can confirm it is really hard to find! The midwife kept having to "scoop" my womble and hold it in place to stop littlefeather floating off!

Pretzel poor you!!!! You have my sympathies - I had the same thing on the train yesterday and it was awful. I have admitted I need to actually start taking the iron tablets I've been prescribed. Even though they constipate me. Not being able to poo beats feeling breathless and sweaty all the time!

Jcandy · 01/12/2015 08:57

I found taking the iron tablets one with prune juice the other with orange juice seemed to help my constipation. I'm down to one a day now and my hb is holding nicely. It feels amazing when they start to work though so I'd definitely recommend them if you need them.

Yes jelly I had that realisation this morning too! Definite baby this month! I can't quite believe it Smile

pretzelpieces · 01/12/2015 09:03

feathered you speak a lot of sense. I am going to talk to GP today about iron.

I was scoffing lots of fruit to stop the constipation but I haven't been able to do that since diabetes diet. They say eat lots of veg but it just doesn't work the same in my experience.

jelly don't say 'next month'! It is now highly likely to be next month for me thanks to induction plans I don't want. Aaaagh! Scary!

jellypi3 · 01/12/2015 09:16

oh no pret is that because of the GD? You might end up having mini pret before jelly baby turns up!!

I feel like this morning my bump is a lot bigger, i feel really unsteady on my feet lol! Doesn't help with the 20 minute walk into work i now face each morning shoving past other people on the busy streets of London...ufff!

pretzelpieces · 01/12/2015 09:41

Oh no jelly, sorry people are being inconsiderate Sad

Yeah, cause of the GD. If I stay on metformin they might let me go up to my due date but not further, if I have to go on insulin it'll likely be induction at 38 weeks. Booo

fruitlovingmonkey · 01/12/2015 09:43

Pretz that sounds scary. Did you feel better when you got to the hospital?
Jelly you need a shield!
Friday will be here soon Lil. I know that because I have a million things to do before going away for the weekend and I haven't done any of them!
Three weeks until I get to see little Fruitman again. I'm really looking forward to being on the other side of this scan and then I can relax and actually believe I'm going to have a healthy baby.

TriJo · 01/12/2015 09:50

Wah. By waiting until I got paid the Mothercare Christmas jumper is now only available in big sizes. Grr. :(

jellypi3 · 01/12/2015 10:19

ah no tri :( bad times! can you go in store to see if they have any?

pretzelpieces · 01/12/2015 10:26

Oh no tri!

fruit yeah by the time I got there I felt woozy but not like death! Aww little fruitman.

KeepTheHope · 01/12/2015 10:32

Pretz I hope you're feeling better now, that sounds scary but hooray for nice bus driver man.

My DM is bringing my DNan for a log planned overnight visit today so we're going g to telly hen their first grandchild and great grandchild is early days in the making. My Nan has said in the past to my DM "won't it be lovely to have another Keep running around the place" so I'm expecting many happy tears and hugs. Really looking forward to someone else knowing but also inexplicably nervous about it for some strange reason.

jellypi3 · 01/12/2015 10:39

Argghhh! Need AIBU advice from you ladies! My "dear" fucking mother has struck again!

For those who don't know, my Mother didn't raise me, she left me at 6 months old to bugger off to Amsterdam on a drug fuelled trip around Europe, and luckily never came back home. Growing up I used to see her during school holidays occassionally but never had a good relationship and when I became a teenager our relationship soured quickly. Now she facebook messages me once every 2/3 months if that, but I don't care because I have my grandparents who did raise me and did a fantastic job (stealth boast).

So now, in her quarterly "how are you darling" messages to me, she's told me that in order to come over to see the baby next year I need to sort her passport out for her. I told her to contact the British Embassy in Paris (she's been in France for the past 22 years) and she said she's too busy............. Hmm

I messaged back saying "Sorry mum, i'm heavily pregnant, still working full time, preparing for christmas and have just moved home, I don't have time". So her reply was "well I need to see the baby so how can I do it without a passport".

So, AIBU to tell her to fucking swim????

KeepTheHope · 01/12/2015 10:43

Wow jelly she sounds delightful. YANBU. Swimming seems like the only option. Tell her to watch out for the sharks Wink (sorry if it's a bit harsh, I'm angry on your behalf!)

ThursdayLastWeek · 01/12/2015 10:47

God jelly that's so ridiculous I'm almost laughing!

Tell her to swivel. Would you even mind too much if she didn't make it? In your shoes I'd be glad it would mean I didn't have to see her!

OP posts:
oneyorkshirepud · 01/12/2015 11:28

Lol Jelly definitely tell her to swim! Flippin eck, why should you have to sort her passport out for her? To be fair, if she doesn't have one then she can't come over and visit baby/cause trouble - a win-win situation I reckon. Flowers

Pretzel that sounds horrible about the bus but I am glad the bus driver was helpful, can you email his company and let them know that he was a star? Iron poos are no fun, those moist toilet tissue wipe things are a bit of a winner. Take them with OJ and avoid tea and coffee as they reduce absorption.

Aw Keep that's lovely that you get to tell your mum/nan tonight. I expected my parents to be v emosh but they just sat their looking stunned, which was a bit silly as they knew we were ttc so it can't have been that much of a surprise!

Finally finished painting the feckin dining chairs so now I can move on to The Deep Clean, wohoo! Grin
