Hi I'm back

WEll, Consultant had a go at the sweep - couldn't be done as cervix is firmly closed BUT other signs are positive - things are nicely short and thinning... That word effacement again. Glad to know that all this pain is doing something - good chance I will have baby before Saturday.

At the moment every hour brings a real humdinger of a 'contraction' - I had one as I came out of the antenatel on way to coffee shop - I had to stop and prop myself up against a wall - some orderly from the neighbouring cardiac clinic was so concerned he insisted on plonking me in a wheelchair and pushing me all the way there! I was in fits of (painful) giggles by the time I got there.

I've had these pains every hour for about three or four hours now (lost count as I can't recall if the one I had in the car on way to hospital was one - or just nerves). I'll see what the next hour brings. DP didn't take us shopping, he got called to two more jobs instead. I did get some massage oil from the hospital Body Shop. So I'm gradually getting my lost bits and pieces together again.

Debbsy - sounds like you'll be the first of the five

See ya LA

Afternoon ladies
Well- i thought it was all systems go this early am. felt sure waters had gone 9even collected them in a mug to sniff (sorry tmi i know!)
called birthing centre who said that if i went 24 hrs without going into established labour- would have to revise plans about going to centre and go to hospital instead.
went to bed- crampy pains- then spent 2 hours trying to ring labour ward at hosp. Finally went down and had exam- no waters gone, so madwife did sweep. She gave me gas and air as i am so incredibly nervous about internals.
Now back at home necking homeopathic remedies and booked in for reflexology tomorrow and more acupuncture on friday.
Sorry this is so long!! But very eventful am.

LA, good to know everythings moving in the right direction... these contractions must be doing something for you, now they can only progress on and on!

debbsy, will check the other thread in a mo, but hope your doing ok and everythings 'progressing' nicely!

nj, i'm presuming you've been ssent to hospital! i hope that your ok, were all thinking of you!

i've been busy cleaning all afternoon, anything to take my mind of everything.. feeling a bit sorry for myself today. still have a couple of things to do, hoover the sofa's and clean the downstairs loo and the kitchen floor, but i've just sat down for a little drink break and don't think i can get back up! might wait till ds is in bed and get dp to do sofas and floor. i'm knackered!

dp has taken ds round to his friends who are having owen tomorrow, startin g to worry about that but not much i can do about it now!

Well done 40 weeks

And good luck Debbsy...

Just finished a bit of retail therapy thanks to late night shopping. Bit uncomfortable walking around, but nothing to report except I'm having painful contractions - but they are very erratic - no real regularity.

DP has an idea how to get the ball pumped up - using an air compressor... I think he's forgotten about for the moment ... not sure I should remind him just yet...

Any idea what's happened to NJ?

SaraLou and Kelsurprise - here's hoping that it turns around for us.

All the best LA

Hi all - LA checking in - will probably duplicate this on the other threads as well as I'm too tired to be creative...

Nothing happening here - throughout night I've had several incidents where I felt like someone was pulling a tight (painful)corset around me... seem a bit random still though. I really haven't slept properly at all so will have to catch up today...

Baby doesn't seem so low down today - unless it's doing a handstand... it has been moving a little though.

Think I'm going to have a lazy day - looks like NJ and Debbsy are doing the job though! Kelsurprise and SaraLou - how is it going with you two? Looks like I may be the last .

See ya - a very very sleepy LA

Message for you Debbsy on other thread.

Everyone else,
Tried to sleep again earlier - didn't really happen - although dozed a little.

Feel quite rough - have sore throat, tight chest and lots of aches and pains all over. Contractions are getting a little lost in my general feeling of unwellness... I suppose it's an indication that they aren't that significant .

Really don't want to be induced on Saturday - but on the bright side - at least it'll be over soon and LO will be in my arms... ... just in time for it to think that the Christmas decorations have been put up especially for it (I hate using word it by the way - I am really going to look forward to saying he or she... )

Doing what I can to keep positve - and having yet another bath - this time to get rid of the aches in my legs of all places.

See ya LA

Oh Debsy - I thought it was all happening for you there for a minute! Never mind, your bibby will come when good and ready and at least all this practise should be getting your body (and you) prepared
NJ - I hope that you are fine, and I am sure that you are labouring or enjoying your new lo - come over to the dark side and join us when you have a spare min Big hugs and good luck wishes to everyone.

Hi all - I was going to ask where everyone is as well. Nothing happening here . I'm just trying to rest before I get induced tomorrow . Really not looking forward to it as I hoped to have everything done naturally.

Haven't slept properly for at least two nights and spent a good half hour on my own in the early hours of the morning having a good old sob - over largly silly things like my bags being stolen, mum having to go back soon, the induction and the only contractions I'm getting being either a) not powerful enough to count or b) being powerful but showing no signs of regularity over a period of time. Looks like I may be the last...

Nj seems to have disappeared since Wednesday, Debbsy (bless her) thought all was happening then it stopped - she may have started again - SaraLou was being induced on Thursday and Kelsurprise seems to have disappeared to.

Oh well, when I've had chance to relax and buck up my ideas - and start the positive thinking again, I'll be more company nice to see you here again.

All the best LA
