Wow, there are so many of us! Booking appointment today - all fine, not much to report. Somehow very 'proper' to have maternity notes though! I had a couple of days feeling okay and obvs started to worry but have felt fairly wretched since last night so be careful what you wish for I guess! Dentist this afternoon, can't think of anything worse for the nausea!! Even my beloved ginger biscuits aren't shifting this. I feel sea sick!

Stats update - I'm 30, in Surbiton (SW London), 0 DC, 0 MC, 12 week scan 9th July. Juniper, you're just down the road!

lilyb84 · 17/06/2015 12:33

Hi Teenie, could you update for me? 31, SE London, 1st DC, 12 week scan on 7th July Smile

Thinking of you billi, and manatee I hope they were able to reassure you this morning.

Sweetpea80 · 17/06/2015 13:14

Hi ladies
Am I too late to join the January bus? It looks very busy and not sure if I'll keep up. I'm very new to MN but would love to have people to chat with who are going through the same thing.
We are due 14th Jan and have our 12 wk scan booked for 2nd July. This will be DC5 but it's been a long time since my last pregnancy and everything seems to have changed. My youngest will be 11 in January.
I am really looking forward to the first trimester being over as although I've not had any sickness and haven't felt too tired I've had a lot of spotting and bleeding which has been very stressful. I've already had scans to check all is ok and so far so good. We even got to hear the heartbeat last week. This was very reassuring until it started again yesterday afternoon Hmm

EdgarAllenPoe · 17/06/2015 13:30

Good afternoon and what a good afternoon it is.

I have been moaning about my GP for the past 4 weeks, so feel it's only fair to now sing the praises of my local midwifery service.

Got a call at 10am this morning from local midwife saying, we're so sorry no-one's contacted you, the maternity dep said it was urgent so would you like your booking appointment today? Why yes please I said. So that's done and dusted and I am feeling a lot more reassured, and officially pregnant. Both the midwife and student were great. I should be getting confirmation of scan date in the post within the next few days, and I've already got my 16 week appointment booked. Plus lots of things to read and numbers to call. I am queen of the contacts now!

So the moral of the story is, if you feel you're being ignored, there's a good chance you are! So be proactive and make sure stuff gets done. I feel so much better now.

Yokyil · 17/06/2015 13:38

Teenie I'm 29, First DC, one mc in January, 12 week scan (we have ours at 10weeks so have already had mine last week) 20 week scan not confirmed yet but should be 2nd week of August.
Thank you!!!!

AlohaMama · 17/06/2015 13:50

While you're doing a stats update teenie please could you update me, 12 wk scan June 30, edd 9 Jan. Thanks!

fishermanswife1 · 17/06/2015 13:57

Well done Poe! That's a turn around! Glad they were so nice to you.

My experience so far has not been too pleasant. Largely being made to feel foolish about worrying over cramps and spotting and being told I shouldn't be ringing them about cramps just under my ribs as - don't I know I'm pregnant just above my pubic bone, not under my ribs?!.... I'm well aware of that, however I'm also aware that it can be a symptom of ectopic pregnancy, especially with other symptoms I've had. I'm really not a Google panic self-diagnoser (I'm a biologist with a PhD so have some background in physiology), so it has really narked me off that I have been fobbed off so patronisingly as one when expressing genuine concerns.
Sorry! Rant over. I'm hormonal today. Yesterday I was telling myself that the mw could have been having a bad/busy day.

Hope everything is ok manatee. I'm sure it is, but of course you're going to be anxious. Let us know how you get on.

Hi sweetpea. Welcome to the wacky world of Frankfurter craving, crazy dream having, anxious January ladies.

mrschatty · 17/06/2015 14:04

manatee I hope all is well please let us know!
Almost everyone know our news now not keeping it secret even have my scan pic as phone background. Feels good to get it out there!

OTheHugeManatee · 17/06/2015 14:15

Doc said as it's not red blood and there is no pain it's very common and almost certainly nothing to worry about. Mum has come over to eat all my biscuits distract me and stop me fretting and DH just rang to say his schedule has changed and he's now back on Friday (hurray!) so I am trying to relax.

Thanks for your concern everyone. It's already appreciated Flowers

manatee oh so glad - I had the same and was in bits at my Drs. Glad all ok!

Welcome pea we're all a bit grumpy at the moment! Although I'm having a good day nausea wise so actually feeling like a (bloated) human being for once!

poe well done and glad all is sorted. I want my booking Appt before my scan so I have something to break up the waiting!

We're still keeping quiet till 12w - it's my first ever and am so nervous. Not sure how I'm going to continue to hide it while socialising though am a bit of a wine fly normally...

babybabynamechange · 17/06/2015 14:35

Stats for me:
31 yrs old. Sutton in Surrey. Have 1 DC. 0 MC. Early scan was 9/06. 12 scan is 14/07.

But random but I have been really suffering with morning sickness the last couple of days - today I discovered that watermelon is a cure!

lilyb84 · 17/06/2015 15:00

Manatee so glad to hear that, hope you're feeling much better!

Babybaby - I discovered the same thing this morning! Watermelon definitely helped for a good hour or so Smile

fishermanswife1 · 17/06/2015 15:08

Great stuff manatee hope you can relax a bit more now.

Yep pea sorry we can be a bit grumpy!

Oohhh really fancy watermelon now. Top tip!

kep1979 · 17/06/2015 15:41

manatee that is reassuring Smile I hope it all stops and you can relax.

Having a simply marvelous day at work not. Office politics maxed out, and loads of very pissed off people. I am hiding and eating my body weight in skittles

babybabynamechange · 17/06/2015 15:56

Watermelon cure worked for a couple of hours here, then I had a nap and woke up feeling grotty again so had another slice and it worked again! Whoop!!!

OTheHugeManatee · 17/06/2015 16:18

Bleeding is now red, though not very much. Have called doc back. They said try to relax and call back in an hour, and based on symptoms they'll either send me to A&E now or arrange a scan asap to check what's going on. Please cross all your fingerses it's nothing, I am very anxious Sad

manatee feeling for you. Get your GP to refer you directly to your local EPU for a scan. Hope it's all ok xxx

MissMartin10 · 17/06/2015 16:44

aww manatee i know your going to be so worried naturally xx but if it reassures you atall this happened to me 4 weeks ago and it was alot of red blood followed by spotting and everything is fine with me ... i hope your okay Thanks xx

kep1979 · 17/06/2015 16:49

manatee keeping everything crossed for you. I would push for an EPU scan too, even if things calm down, for reassurance. Flowers

moonshine25 · 17/06/2015 16:53

Manatee I've got everything crossed for you and really hoping that everything is ok.

Welcome sweet pea! Always lovely to have another lady in the same boat Smile

Teenie if you're updating stats please can you put my 12 week scan in for 3rd July? Thanks!

MiniTickle · 17/06/2015 16:58

Manatee my thoughts are with you. FX that everything is okay for you. Xxx

Sweetpea80 · 17/06/2015 17:12

Thank you for the lovely welcome ladies.

Manatee it's such a worry I know exactly how u feel as I've been like this for the last 3/4 wks. Fingers crossed for you.

Teenie could you add me to your stats. I'm 34 already have DC4 MC0 EDD 14th Jan. Had an early scan 9/6 and our 12wk scan is 2/7. I live near Glasgow.

Lilliana · 17/06/2015 17:13

fx all is ok manatee I would push for a scan too even if thInge calm down to reassure you. Take care.

Welcome pea!

I seem to have found some energy today and have spent a couple hours cleaning out my dumping ground office as DD is going to move into it so baby can have her room. Really want it done well before baby comes so she doesn't feel baby pushed her out of her room but no clue where all my stuff is going to go - 13 years worth of hoarded teaching stuff!

OTheHugeManatee · 17/06/2015 17:21

Doc said it's either A&E immediately or EPU tomorrow. So I should get the scan. I'm back at the surgery now for blood pressure check and mum is on her way back over to hold my hand. FX all is ok but I'm so worried Sad
