cineraria rather than the perinatal massage I'm getting an epi-no after someone on another group used it and had her baby in 2 pushes with no tearing! May be coincidence but worth a go! It's not cheap but I am willing to pay it if it helps.

batfish · 25/08/2015 15:14

Perinatal?! Meant perineal - autocorrect!!

Cineraria · 25/08/2015 18:49

Yes, picture hook nails are a good idea Anna. I'm just trying to work out what is safe in a nursery versus what does least damage to the walls!

Epi-no looks interesting. I'll show DH and see if he thinks £90 is a price worth paying to avoid the task of stretching my undercarriage out every night for the next five weeks!

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 30/08/2015 07:47

Just checking in to see how everyone is getting on.
I have been on the thread for quite a while but I have name changed in light of all the hacking and DDOS attacks on the site.
Is everyone almost done their baby shopping now?

Mememememe15 · 31/08/2015 09:16

I'm all done as of Saturday!! Kept forgetting to buy a changing mat lol

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 31/08/2015 10:13

I'm almost done. I just need to buy some flat sheets and some nursing bras (but I'm holding off being measured for a couple more weeks).

I feel really enormous and heavy now. My bump is sitting really low (which is probably why it feels so heavy) which means that some of my maternity jeans no longer fit confortably but I refuse to buy any more maternity clothes at this late stage.
Only 6 more weeks to go Smile

AnnaBegins · 31/08/2015 21:28

I've still got some washing to do and blinds for car windows to buy, (which reminds me the blind for the nursery still needs cutting down to size!) then got the tree painting to finish, cot to build, cot mattress to order... blimey I've just scared myself with so much to do! 4 weeks to go! On the plus side I packed my hospital bag tonight, mainly because the midwife today thought I should have... Grin

Ladypug · 01/09/2015 21:32

Hi all,

It's 1st September... We're giving birth NEXT MONTH!!! Woooo! I still haven't really bought anything, got pram, car seat, a sleep suit and furniture (but unopened as moving home) still soooo much to get! Need a list so I know what to get! Eeek!

Cineraria · 02/09/2015 08:35

Good luck with the move, Ladypug! Then you can get your baby stuff all set up.

My dates were moved to end of September, and I think maybe it's the same for Anna, so it is this month for us. I'm telling the baby to hold off until we've attended DH's ex girlfriend's wedding on Saturday as I've made a new dress and won't get to wear it otherwise and both sets of Grandparents are telling him to wait at least another week as they are both heading off on holiday for a week this weekend.

I think we have finished all the shopping this weekend (apart from car sunshade rear facing seat mirror that DH will pick) although some was online so we're still waiting for deliveries this week but I still have lots of sewing and knitting to do.

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 02/09/2015 08:55

Gosh ladypug, when you say it is next month it seems do much closer than the 6 weeks I keep telling myself. I have just got the older ones back to school today and it seems like everything is going to happen very quickly now. I must crack on and finish decorating the nursery. Good luck with the house move.

Ladypug · 02/09/2015 09:48

Wow cine, this month! That must seem pretty incredible. We've moved out as our sale has completed but purchase hasn't gone through so technically a little bit homeless but I'm sure it will all sort itself out (hopefully said with a slight hint of panic!!!) i really need to get my act in gear and buy everything. Is there any kind of checklist of everything to get somewhere?

Ladypug · 02/09/2015 09:49

I know loobrush, 6 weeks sounds better! Hehe

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 02/09/2015 09:51

Mothercare catalogue has a checklist on the back or you could just download an app which gives a checklist plus a hospital bag list and a contraction timer. There are lots of different apps available for free.

Ladypug · 02/09/2015 18:15

Ooh thank you!

AnnaBegins · 02/09/2015 21:03

Argh this month for me and Cine! One of the ladies in my NCT group has already had hers!

Coolchic12 · 13/09/2015 12:42

Hi ladies, where had everyone gone, new thread?

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 14/09/2015 18:44

I'm still here. Just been a busy few days. I think some of us have name changed in light of the hacker gate saga.
I have been down the hospital assessment unit all day but thankfully given the all clear and back home now. I'm not due for another 4 weeks but baby's head is 1/5 engaged and I have been getting strong braxton hicks for a while now, the monitor at the hospital picked up strong braxton hicks every 8 minutes and smaller ones every 4 minutes (halfway in between the bigger ones). I have decided to finish packing my bag tomorrow just in case.

AnnaBegins · 16/09/2015 11:30

I'm still here too Grin 3 of the ladies from my NCT course have now had their babies so it's all getting real now!

Every1KnowsJeffHesUsuallyACunt · 16/09/2015 11:38

I'm still here too! Due 2nd Oct. And yes, I am a namechange.

Got everything ready for the home birth, which was a bit in limbo for a week or so but the consultant has finally given me the go.

I have 2 weeks and 2 days to go but who's counting!!

Coolchic12 · 16/09/2015 13:01

I had a similar incident Iamnot, went to the Maternity assessment unit on the 5th due to regular and painful contraction type feeling and the Dr decided to keep me overnight for monitoring as she felt tightenings were regular and not normal for 35 weeks, took it as sign of pre term labour. She also said my cervix was shortening! I was so relieved when it eased off and was discharged the following day. I was freaking out because we were not prepared at all, still waiting for delivery of pram, crib, dresser etc, still waiting by the wayBlush.

I am now on maternity leave and slowly but surely getting hospital bags ready, washed all baby's clothes. It's all becoming real and close. EDD 9th October so just over 3 weeks to go or even sooner given my earlier incident!

What is everyone up to? How are you getting on Iamnot?

Coolchic12 · 16/09/2015 13:04

Wow Every1, you must be pleased for the approval for home birth. Is it your first baby?

I thought about home birth but DP was not keen so it's going to be birth centre if everything looks ok today, 36 weeks midwife appointment.

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 16/09/2015 13:39

I'm getting on okay coolchic. I'm still drinking excessively and am constantly thirsty and the tightenings are still regular but I'm not overly concerned as I feel okay except for the crippling backache that I have when walking around.

I have gained 5lb in weight this week Blush partly from eating rubbish and I think partly from all of the water.
I am due to see the midwife on Friday for my 36 week check and my due date is 14th Oct. It will be interesting to see if the head is any further engaged by then.
We are almost ready now, bag 80% packed, everything bought and nursery decorated. Just need to write my birth plan.

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 16/09/2015 13:40

And the only other thing we need is a name for our little man -dp and I cannot agree on anything.

Every1KnowsJeffHesUsuallyACunt · 16/09/2015 13:50

Coolchic no its my fifth which was half of the problem. Then when it was all booked they dropped another couple of 'risks' on me Hmm

Hope your check up shows all is well. We don't have a birthing centre at our local hospital so it was an in or out sort of thing! Decided out was the best choice, hated all my other stays there.

I picked up the pool on Monday. Been very twitchy since the weekend myself with intense braxtons on and off. They seem to be regular for a while then fade off. Dh is flapping bless him, I'm not holding my breath for anything momentous just yet (been overdue with all my others!)

SoontobeMommyof2 · 17/09/2015 12:13

Got my c-section booked now.. I have everything just need to build the stuff or pack it etc.

Still plodding along at work too.. so in the evenings I have zero energy to do it.
