Oh that's tough duck , is that a work thing? What a stress!

S1mmy · 27/03/2015 10:17

karmanna13 7 week scans are internal. But midwives see all sorts nowadays, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Woke up this morning not feeling pregnant at all, which worries me a little. Yes, am scared, nervous and feel like my mind doesn't know itself. Always questioning myself. Am I hungry because my body needs it or because I "think" I need it, or because I'm greedy? Am I tired because my body is tired or because I know I'm pregnant and expected to be tired?

I start a new job next week, nervous about how I going to be. Will I be too tired from the work and commute? Will I be hungry al the time? Will I be sick? Will I not cope with the busyness of the job? Argh. Trying not to stress out and I love all the positive thoughts and support on here.

The sun is out and we are all fortunate to be healthy and pregnant! Stay happy ladies! :-)

thatduck · 27/03/2015 10:20

Yes my fiancée has been offered a job which is to good to refuse and would mean out quality of life will be better as he won't be working 90hrs a week and will be paid more. Unfortunately it means I have to leave my job and won't get maternity pay if I find a new job. He will be able to support us though.
Any other time I'd have taken this in my stride but my emotions are all over the place and I keep crying like an idiot, I think people think I'm over reacting but obviously they don't know I'm pregnant.

And the icing on the cake is that I can't drink at our engagement/leaving party.

Sorry for moaning I just need to rant

Thatduck where are you moving to in Scotland? Scotland's not that bad - I'm scottish! Smile

HeirToTheIronThrone · 27/03/2015 10:35

It's dress-down Friday at work today and I am wearing my new maternity jeans. I don't really need to at 6+2, but am horribly comfortable Grin

I veer between being so positive to terrified and everything in between. It's the waiting that is so hard - we don't have the money for a private scan so I know I have 6 more weeks before I know anything about anything!

thatduck · 27/03/2015 10:47

Thanks ladies, I have nothing against Scotland, I spent 4 years at Dundee uni and loved it. We are moving to near Braemar.
Thanks Annbag I was struggling to find any information about maternity allowance. Does anyone know if there is any sort of allowance if for some reason I can't find a job in the next 8 months?

mrsscarlettbutler · 27/03/2015 11:01

hello all. Gosh thatduck what an upheaval for you!

I am with everyone on the panicking front. I have read so many stories about missed miscarriages, and it's really freaking me out. Especially with the constant random bleeding and spotting I'm getting. As I've already had 2 scans and both were fine (one at 6 weeks and one at 7 weeks) I'm trying to be positive, but at the same time I don't want to get too excited and then be disappointed. It's such a minefield! I just feel so much for anyone who has gone through a mmc, it must be the most horrendous thing. (as are all miscarriages!)

My hospital says in its materinty services leaflet that at the 12 - 14 week scan unfortunately about 3% of pregnancies are found not to have developed/or be viable, so that's a good statistic to hold on to?

Feeling very sick this week, but also have some cramping. Hoping it's stretching rather than anything sinister...

thatduck · 27/03/2015 11:13

Thanks Annbag that's an amazing website, thank you for your help :)

dottiemad · 27/03/2015 11:38

Someone brought cake into work..... :-) Happy Dottie!

dottiemad · 27/03/2015 11:41

A little question for you all on midwife appointments etc.

I phoned the midwife team on Tuesday as I I couldn't see my GP for a week due to them being fully booked.

The lady on the phone said she would get the midwife who covers my area to give me a call back (over my slight concerns over cramping) and she would send me some paperwork and arrange an appointment....I have heard nothing since. Granted I'm not the only woman pregnant in her area and i am only 6+3 today but thought she would have at least called back to reassure me/talk to me about the cramps?

Since ready on here I have since found out the cramps are normal but still!!

ashboo76 · 27/03/2015 11:52

Heirtothethrone I'm not having a scan til normal 12 weeks earlier so with you on the waiting. After bleeding (and still some today) and cramps yesterday thankfully eased off overnight I have to believe what will be will be and just take care in the meantime.

dottiemad · 27/03/2015 11:57

Ash take it easy you should Hug

Focusfocus · 27/03/2015 12:36

For those getting early scans, it need not be internal remember. My early scan was at 6 + 2 and they did it on my tummy and bean and heartbeat showed immediately. It might not always be the case and I was told beforehand that in case belly scan doesn't show anything they'll do an internal.

As far as feeling or not feeling oregnant. I am right there with you. Today, I do not feel oregnant. My nipples feel less sensitive, and nausea non existent. Fatigue comes and goes. But that's the nature of is thing I take it.

Duck, the move will be hard. I hope you've thought it out, which I am sure you have.

I am mess of emotions myself arising out of complex childhood issues primarily to do with a mother who was volatile/depressed/angry and who is now a perfectly normal okay person. But my "mum" figure remains missing and it's just coming up now that I am realising I don't have a role model mum and I don't know what to do. Emotions can be crazy.

I'd made a veggie Thai curry yesterday which I am having for lunch, with a side of roasted butternut squash cubes, and it looks very rainbowish bright and appealing, so going to focus on that now :)

Had morning sickness for the last three days. "Morning" is a misnomer, as I've kept very little down and have felt dreadful for most of the whole day. It's amazing how much of this from last time I conveniently forgot!

Duck, I sympathise. We just moved country last week too. Make sure you get the removals company to pack for you - often not much more money and so worth it!

heloharris · 27/03/2015 13:16

oh thank god it's Friday!

I'm so looking forward to not having to do anything tomorrow!

Is anyone else really really thirsty? I had almost a 2 litre bottle of fizzy water during the night last night. Granted I did have a takeaway pizza and I'm sure it was full of salt, but 2 litres seems a lot.

And hayfever season has hit, joy. The doctor optimistically said maybe your pregnancy will affect your hayfever in a good way - nopes. Anyone else suffer? What nasal sprays do you use? (I hate nasal sprays!)

stace1986 · 27/03/2015 13:25

Had my scan and I am so pleased to say everything is where it should be and we got to see a tiny little heart beat flickering on the screen. So relieved. They could find no reason for the bleeding but are not concerned. Now if this nausea would just bugger off that would be good! :)

Crumbelina · 27/03/2015 13:29

Hurrah - congratulations Stace, that must be so reassuring and I'm so pleased for you!

Yeah, the nausea buggering off is wishful thinking. Wink

heloharris · 27/03/2015 13:32

such good news stace!

Bumpingalong84 · 27/03/2015 13:33

Ahh grear news stace, you must feel so relieved.

I've had some spotting on TP this morning when wiping. Feeling all paranoid again. No matter how much I read it's common. Do have very slight cramping but feels more like stretching. Ahh roll on May for 12 week scan!

dottiemad · 27/03/2015 13:38

yay Stace!
