Forget about him leanne, some people just love to provoke! Hope all ok Steph xx

applecore0317 · 07/03/2015 23:22

ignore him leanne my friend made a comment when I mentioned maybe having a 3d scan, saying to be careful as not good to have too many scans... which I thought was odd as she had I think 3 scans prior to 12 weeks because she was anxious and then on top of the normal scans she had growth scans....

And look at me, I've had six TransV scans on top of other scans, and the consultant is hardly raising a concern!

Pleased you went down and got chexked our Royal and glad they were able to out your mind at ease.

Not sure about protein in the wee, someone else will probably know though

Scottishgal78 · 08/03/2015 00:34

What? leanne I've never heard the 'too many scans is bad for the baby' line before! I'm quickly learning though that everyone has an opinion on what's best for YOUR baby. Most of them best to ignore!

Scottishgal78 · 08/03/2015 00:35

I'm not sure about the wee either. I always go and give my sample and they're like ' your wee's great' and I'm thinking why wouldn't it be!

Turquoisetamborine · 08/03/2015 07:19

I think protein in wee can be an early indicator of preeclampsia so hope it's not that Royalsteph. Could be wrong. At least they have picked it up early.

I cooked a meal for my family last night then we watched The Voice and they left by 9. Don't like people staying too late nowadays! Off to a farmers market later with DS.

Baby woke me up at 7 kicking as I'd rolled nearly onto my front. Sorry baby!

Leanne I vaguely remember something about the risks of too many scans, I think it's the same as too many X-rays but if we need them then we need them. I've lost count of how many I've had.

Have a lovely day.

KittyVonCatsington · 08/03/2015 07:35

Blimey - never heard of scans being harmful- I've had 3 (inc one at ten weeks after bleeding) and have only not had more private ones due to time and money! Had a quick Google as was interested and can't find anything. There is an interesting Guardian article here that makes sense so you can tell that man to piss off leanne!

mumxof3x · 08/03/2015 08:26

Protein can be an early sign of preeclampsia, but usually its accompanied with a higher then usual blood pressure, was yours ok steph? But sometimes it can also be just one of these things too, I had a trace with ds1 in my pee around this point and it cleared up and came to nothing. Hope all is ok.

Leanne, how rude. I have not put this pregnancy on fb this time with it been my 4th because I really cant do with some peoples rudeness.

Tits, sorry missed your post. I hope your DS is ok and is on the mend soon.

leanne963 · 08/03/2015 08:57

Thanks everyone!!! I read somewhere it is more harmful to stand too close to a microwave while you are heating food than it is to have a scan! Sorry for the vent it just got my back up! Lol

Was everything OK steph ? Was baby just having a quiet day!?

Royalsteph · 08/03/2015 09:05

thanks ladies. baby is fine. he was kicking away merrily on the trace, he was just having a lazy Saturday night . Blood pressure is normal so I won't worry about the protein and see what the midwife says next time I see her with a new sample.

Racheyg · 08/03/2015 10:23

steph I have exactly the same problem. I had food poisoning last sunday/monday and emergency gp sent me to triage as they were concerned about my urine. I had 2+ which increased. I thought the protein was more due to the fact that I was dehydrated and throwing up constantly. But the Dr's were more leaning towards pre-eclampsia, although my blood pressure is good (perfectly normal). They also said I have a UTI so on Antibiotics.

I hope your pregnancy continues worry free. :) x

Chookford · 08/03/2015 10:36

steph glad to hear everything is ok, protein can also indicate thrush... My last two samples have showed this due to that bastard!

leanne some people really are just dicks! Ignore, ignore, ignore!!

Hooe everyone has a lovely Sunday, it's lovely and sunny here and quite warm, hooray!!

KittyVonCatsington · 08/03/2015 10:44

I just love the sunshine........i finally get to hang laundry out on the line rather than in my dining room :)

Hope you all have a great day in the sun xx

leanne963 · 08/03/2015 11:22

Ahh kitty I'm doing the same, daydreaming about strolling to the shops with her in the pram and feeling warmth on my skin...I miss summer!!!

applecore0317 · 08/03/2015 11:22

I've not had the best morning, caught my bump on the corner of the fridge, hurt. Then had such bad constipation that the pressure made me come over all faint... and had to umm assist to loosen and then blocked the toilet Blush Blush feeling very humiliated

Then smacked my head on the dressing table :*(
