Aww Congratulations mum good luck on your driving test!!!!

apple Aw no sorry to hear you have to work while so exhausted :( hope today goes fast for you!!

sunshine ahh so your LO is a martial arts expert too? I feel your uncomfortable pain with the string kicks! I genuinely have no idea how I will cope in another 10 weeks of her getting even stronger the Kicks already take my breath away!

Just ooh sounds like a Nice day!! I am doing uni work today and tomorrow have my mum and her husband and my nan and my boyfriends parents and his brother and wife coming over to watch the 4D scan DVD then 20 are going for a toby carvery! Yum!!!

Blondie87 · 07/03/2015 09:20

Well done on passing your driving theory! Best to get it out the away before baby!

Definitely in the 7am club with mid sleep loo break. Have a good shopping trip Just. Love buying stuff for the nursery. Got a lovely mamas and papas changing table which looks brand new from Gumtree for £200 less than full price! Love a good bargain. Borrowed a cot and ordered some wall stickers so once everything arrives I'm going to decorate the nursery- can't wait! Snuzpod arrived too which we'll use for the first six months. Feeling much more real now we have a house full of baby stuff.
I know not everyone likes to track their weight but I came across this and found it useful to get some idea of whether my weight gain was ok so far (midwife never weighs me!)
www.babycenter.com/pregnancy-weight-gain-estimator

Has anyone else not been given/offered the GTT? Not been mentioned by my midwife (last appointment was 29w 5).

mumxof3x · 07/03/2015 09:29

Thankyou ladies :) I hope I do pass but not banking on it the first time lol, really need to push myself the next 7 week. It would make life so much easier. Ds1s school isnt close by, so have to get buses with pram all time which is a pain as sometimes you cant get on until the second or third bus and ds2 also starts same school in september. So it would be so much better and less time consuming.

Leanne, I totally blame your lovely piks, I just booked a 4D scan oooops lol.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend x

leanne963 · 07/03/2015 10:06

Hahah mum I must apologise to your purse, but you will absolutely love it! This of all the money you have saved on wine/nights out since being pregnanct And think of it as a treat! That's what I did anyway haha

Threesoundslikealot · 07/03/2015 10:24

Sounds like some lovely weekends on here! The sun feels like a message that our babies will be here soon.

Tori I think some trusts get twitchy about Hb levels under either 10.5 or 11, varying from place to place. So that could be it.

Scottishgal78 · 07/03/2015 11:13

Hi all. Busy day yesterday-work, midwife then out for dinner and to see the Bodyguard with friends. Was absolutely wiped and slept till 9am! Cant remember last time I did that!

Well done on passing your theory!

I think I'm going to brave the scales tomorrow! Dreading what I'll find. Got my 'you're 28w' email from mothercare last week and it said you've still to gain a quarter of your final weight!!! Wtf?!?!

SmileyScooby · 07/03/2015 11:43

Congrats mum on passing the theory :) 1 test down 1 to go!

Food shopping done :) DH said we'd do it today rather than me doing it on easy home from work - supermarket wasn't too busy thankfully!

Blondie midwife hasn't mentioned the GTT test to me yet (saw her at 28w now 30+3) have 31w appt on Thursday with Dr (and whooping cough jab too!!) so will see what is said thence

Oh and thanks for that link Blondie according to that I should only have gained 11-20lbs so with just under 10 weeks to go am gonna be over the suggested weight gain....oops...how much weight do we reckon is baby related waters etc?

Have got all day antenatal NHS class tomorrow, have got new little notebook so I can take notes hehe. Right had better stop browsing and waffling and get some school stuff done as will have no chance tomorrow. Catch up later :)

Chookford · 07/03/2015 11:54

mum congrats on passing your theory... Sure you will do fine on our practical!

Some nice weekends coming up! I'm out tonight for dinner with my dh for an early bday meal (bday is next week) so nanny has our dd... Can't wait an Indian followed by a lay in tomorrow morning, what more could I ask for!

Titsalinabumsquash · 07/03/2015 12:01

I was meant to be having an early meal out for my birthday tonight (birthday is Tuesday) but DS2 is not coping well with the chicken pox, he's still coming out in them, even his pox have pox so I've cancelled, ho hum the joys of parenting. Wink

Jenni2legs · 07/03/2015 12:16

I shared this in the FB group but thought I'd share on here too; Something we totally don't need, but I've just ordered www.pinkparcel.co.uk/ It's a period box, full of tampons or towels and beauty items (they also send chocolate and tea in every box).
I have ordered the biggest towels they do so hopefully I will get some use out of them in the post-birth time. I am sharing as the first box is free if you order tomorrow (International Women's Day) it's £10 a month after so don't forget to cancel, I don't know if you'll get charged for the second box before you can cancel but £10 for two boxes still looks like a great deal.

mumxof3x · 07/03/2015 12:43

Haha leanne, that is exactly what I said to mum, I dont go anywhere, I dont buy myself anything and cant buy a bottle of wine no more, so its a treat lol. I just hope its better then ds1's, the placenta was smack next to his face so kind of covered bits of it. But we did get a pik of him smiling, the quality of the piks wasnt as good as yours though, but it was 6 and half year ago.

Tori, midwife here said they usually treat under 10.5, mine was just over that at 24 weeks but due to the fast pulse they gave me the tabs. It had dropped to 9.5 in 4 week (28wk bloods) even with the tabs. Some do treat above 10.5 though, so worth checking.

Snooky17 · 07/03/2015 14:56

Congratulations Mum hope your practical goes well as your theory.
Blondie I haven't had the gtt test mention to me either, have my anti d next week so will ask then, thanks for the link I'm suppose to gain 15-25 lbs so far I'm at 19 with 10 weeks to go, hmm my chest must be at least 5lbs of that tho, lost 3 stone in a year on slimming world before tho so know it can be done so trying not to worry too much.
tits grrr to the pox ruining your birthday meal.

Justyouwaitandsee · 07/03/2015 14:59

Hi everyone - what a lovely sunny day! Congrats on the theory test mum. I have wondered about trying to learn again but really struggle with the idea of being in control of a car.

Back from the shopping trip, although only bare essentials and am refusing to buy anything I am not absolutely convinced we need.

Ended up buying a multipack of muslins, newborn nappies and bags, pack of cuddle dry towels, a changing mat and some basic bibs.

All adds up though - just this week, have also bought a changing bag, baby monitor (with movt sensor) and I've just bought a tens machine half price on Amazon:

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B000QG79DO/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1425737297&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&keywords=mamatens&dpPl=1&dpID=41v8fCXxYAL&ref=plSrch

Bazza2 · 07/03/2015 15:02

Congratulations mum! I've got my practical very soon indeed and I am TERRIFIED. But at least if I fail I'll have time for another go before MiniBaz arrives.

Blondie87 · 07/03/2015 17:25

Thanks for the link Just- anyone used a Tens machine before? Thinking of getting one.
Tits sorry to hear your meal's on hold. There is lots of chicken pox going round where I live.

KittyVonCatsington · 07/03/2015 17:58

Congratulations mumx in your theory test and good luck on your driving test Flowers

apple hope work wasn't too awful on such a lovely day x

Sunshine I have another active one too but she is more of a shuffled than a kicker- seems to prolong the uncomfortableness!!

Just well done on a successful shopping trip- lots of necessary stuff there Smile Wonderful!

Bet you love re-looking at your lovely scan video leanne Smile

Good luck in your test too Bazza

I've used a tens machine for a prolapsed disc before and it can provide temporary pain relief but it didn't work longer than a few hours for me (think I got numbed to the electrical current) but certainly helpful should we want to combine it with other methods of pain relief xx

OP posts:
Chookford · 07/03/2015 18:43

blondie I used a tens machine when in labour with my dd and found it did help I mamanged with just that and a birthing pool and She was born after 7hours... I'm not sure if it's actually the electrical stimulation or the fact it takes your mind off the contractions but it did do something for me, but I also know of ladies who said it was naff so they arent for everyone..,

tits sorry to hear you have had to cancel your bday meal.. Hope your DS feels better soon, my bday is Thursday so we are close!

bazza good luck with your test soon too, sure you will fine!

just well done on your shopping trip, sounds like your well on the way to being sorted!

mumxof3x · 07/03/2015 18:47

Thankyou so much ladies :)

Blondie, I didnt use one with ds1 and 2 but did with ds3 and I would definately recommend them, I managed loads better with the tens :)

Scottishgal78 · 07/03/2015 20:21

At the actual routine but of Gina Ford now (this is what my Saturday nights have become) and she's telling when to have my breakfast and what to eat! Can see why people say they don't like the tone or that it's preachy!

Royalsteph · 07/03/2015 20:28

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. we have bought the pram and travel system finally so now have everything ready for baby. 9 weeks to go, only 30 working days left at work (not that I'm counting Wink)

the little man is being very quiet tonight so I'm drinking some ice water and lying on my side to see if I can wake him up

leanne963 · 07/03/2015 21:25

Scottish what to eat?!?! No thank you, if I want to consider pop tarts a nutritional breakfast then I will lol

tits so sorry to hear about your DS I am thinking of you!!

SmileyScooby · 07/03/2015 21:31

applecore0317 · 07/03/2015 21:50

Might look into the tens machine, and see if my brother wants to go halves, he suffers with back pain so could give it to him when I am done with it.

Thought I would share this recipe for anyone that is not a veggie, we cooked it today and it was soooooo good, slimming world pulled pork

www.slimmingworld.com/recipes/bbq-pulled-pork.aspx

leanne963 · 07/03/2015 22:51

Eurgh had some idiot comment that 'you can tell the difference between kids that get multiple scans over the kids that don't get scans' after he read my blog where i mentioned i have had like 8 scans already! Pissed me off. There is NO harm whatsoever from scans and it was ignorant and rude of him to comment that something will be 'up' with my baby. Grrrr, sorry. I just don't get people sometimes, why would they say that!? I thought it was just common sense to not say negative things to people....

Royalsteph · 07/03/2015 23:03

some people are such idiots leanne!
thanks apple, I went into labour ward for monitoring as little dude hadn't moved much all day. they had me on the trace for an hour because he kept moving away and dropping off the trace, but he is fine. I do have a trace of protein in my wee (no idea what that means?!?)
