We're pretty lucky because one of the midwives runs the hypnobirthing classes and she only charges for the cost of the book / CD.

Chookford · 04/03/2015 20:30

smiley yep to the fanny daggers! Get them every now and then and can take my breath away at times!

Some lovely names on here... Our two front runners for girls at the moment are Mabel or Dolly... We like old fashioned names but still pretty ones.... Our dd is Nellie so needs to go with that! Ha Smile

leanne963 · 04/03/2015 21:04

Chook I LOVE old fashioned names! I know Agnes is such an old name but my nan was absolutely amazing so i associate it with the person and to me that is a beautiful name! Love Mabel and Dolly!! :D

Kyz · 04/03/2015 21:08

Evening all :) Thanks for the lovely comments re: ds :) kitty he's pretty awesome, sometimes I could leave him in the nearest wheelie bin, mind, but generally he's a good kid :) I thought it might make people smile, sorry about the tears lol, he keeps making me teary, too!

I shall put pictures up then apple :) The heartbeat bears are lovely, I ought to keep an eye on this one though as DS keeps pressing it. It's very odd, as he has one of his own heartbeat but despite it soothing him when really tiny, he has never bothered with it since!

Oh gosh bean quite sweet of them to be so concerned though bless them!

ouch piglet if there's one 'ache' i can't be doing with it's toothache, it's awful awful awful! Hope yours buggers off soon!

tori i agree, i can't stand lucozade! Love the name too, both go really well together :)

glad your scan went well chook!!

yaaay for freedom leanne!

glad the new diet is working for you longest, and Bethan is a lovely name, I think Katerina works well as a middle name too :) Bless your dd donating the mobile and lamp, that's lovely :) How old is she? Bet her parents evening went fab :)

I love all of these names! Exciting to find out what we're all choosing :) All so different but lovely :) I have chosen Sullivan (sully as a nn) as a first name. I picked it out very early days, and told DP that if we were expecting a boy, and I knew we were (i just knew!) then he was to be called Sullivan and tough if he didn't like it. Thankfully he loves it as much as I do Blush but we haven't told anyone IRL as i'm quite sure most people won't be keen. I'm just expecting most people not to like it, so don't worry if you don't, I won't be offended :) Sullivan Thomas Leon is what I am leaning towards atm, Thomas and Leon being my dp, and my other brother (my DS has the older of my two brothers as a middle name).

turquoise make sure you rest :) glad all is ok :)

how lovely to see baby again bradders, are you looking forward to a chunky monkey? Lovely to know baby has lots of hair already :)

glad your cervix is improving apple though that does sound like a strange appt with lots going on in it!

leanne agnes is one of my favourite girls names, I love it!

glad your appt went well kitty :)

fanny daggers is a brilliant term! Today i've mostly had round ligament pain, came about really strongly when walking the dogs which wasn't fun!

Blondie87 · 04/03/2015 21:08

Love the name Mabel. Was on my short list before we were officially team blue.

leanne963 · 04/03/2015 21:47

Oh kyz Sullivan is an awesome name! That didn't even cross my mind when I was thinking of names but Sully is really cool! RLP is not good either, I think I'm getting a mild form of it as walking is not comfortable and I feel like my bump wants to detach ha!

Chookford · 04/03/2015 22:11

kyz Sullivan is very cute!

longestlurkerever · 04/03/2015 22:42

Sully is cute! My favourite monster.

Dd is 3.5, kyz, so a bit older than your ds. She is at pre school but the youngest in the class. She loves her new room, phew! Back is killing after lugging all the stuff into it though.

applecore0317 · 05/03/2015 05:16

Love the name Kyz would also never have thought of it myself, but its great

piglet81 · 05/03/2015 09:49

Hi everyone, thanks for all your kind messages! Ended up at the emergency dental clinic at Kings this morning and have an appointment to have the offending tooth out on Tues. Seems less painful already knowing it's going to be dealt with!

Love all the name chat. Doesn't it feel like quite a big responsibility choosing someone's name, though! We are probably going for Matthew, with David as a potential middle name after my late granddad (baby is due around his birthday and I think my gran would really love it if we used his name).

Hope everyone's doing OK today Smile

piglet81 · 05/03/2015 10:00

Forgot to add, we went on a tour of the birth centre, labour ward and postnatal ward at our hospital last night. It was really helpful and we both came away feeling positive about the whole thing - there was a very calm, relaxed feel about the place and I got the impression that the staff are keen to help everyone have a good experience. (Either that or they'd managed to shut anyone screaming in pain away in a soundproofed room!) Looking forward to doing the NHS parentcraft classes next month as well as the NCT ones!

cuphat · 05/03/2015 15:30

I like Sullivan, Kyz.

My 28 week appointment went well (back of the bus!). I'm measuring 29 weeks but the midwife said that is quite normal for a second baby. Heard the heartbeat which sounds fine. Baby is lying across which I suspected after feeling kicks at the side! But I'm having a section so I'm not too worried about position. Next appointment in 6 weeks - I'm hardly being seen this time!

applecore0317 · 05/03/2015 15:30

pleased you re getting your tooth sorted piglet and that you're feeling comfortable about the hospital :)

Am shattered today, just seem to be getting more and more tired. Have a feelinf that blood tests will show low iron as it's always been borderline low anyway.

How is everyone else today?

longestlurkerever · 05/03/2015 15:33

I think it is early to worry about position. Dd was sideways till just before 36 weeks.

cuphat · 05/03/2015 15:42

It is too early. Though DD was diagnosed breech at 38 weeks and that's why I had a section. Here, they scan you as routine at 36 weeks if you've had a previous breech baby as apparently it's quite likely to happen again. I just see it as a bonus scan as I'm having a section anyway.

applecore0317 · 05/03/2015 15:56

ah thats good cuphat and if the baby doesn't move position at least you are already going to be having a c section

leanne963 · 05/03/2015 16:51

Cuphat I had a midwife on tuesday tell me she was lying head down, then midwife today at my 28 week appointment told me she was breech. She i got a little wriggler ha!

Apple sorry you are feeling tired, its tough to muster the energy these days isn't it? I just had my bloods taken at my 28 week appointment so i will be interested to see if i am anemic again!

applecore0317 · 05/03/2015 16:55

leanne glad it's not just me that's shattered... wonder how long it takes for the blood results to come back. Wow thats a proper wriggler :) Mines been head down since 22 weeks, apparently likes it where she is lol

leanne963 · 05/03/2015 16:57

apple i forgot to ask whether i need to ring up for the results or wait til my 31 week appointment!? haha she is always kicking, i do wonder if she ever sleeps ha!

Got my 3d/4d scan tomorrow, so bloody excited! Need to put a face to the little darling thats causing me all this worry ha!

applecore0317 · 05/03/2015 17:45

ah how exciting! I've decided against getting one, cause of her position and that she is facing my back I think we will struggle to see her face

Ooh I can now balance a bowl of crisps on my bump when I am half sitting up on the bed

leanne963 · 05/03/2015 17:55

Haha apple i said that to DP the other day 'oooh look I have an personal bowl and plate holder'

Chookford · 05/03/2015 17:58

leanne mines the same midwife on Friday said baby was head doen and scan on Tuesday showed it's back to being breech! Little monkey!

My bump has become my cup of tea holder! Lovely!

Threesoundslikealot · 05/03/2015 18:05

Last time round my 32 week scan showed that the baby the midwife had put as head down the day before was breech. The next time I saw the midwife I said it must be lively, but she examined me and said she'd have sworn the baby was head down without using the pinard (ear trumpet thing) to find that the heart was still up by my ribs. So probably the baby had been breech for a while and they had been mistaking a bum for a head!

cuphat · 05/03/2015 19:12

leanne I was told that they'd get in touch if there were any problems with my blood results.

Three, I suspect that last time DD was breech most of the time as I only ever felt kicks low down. I'd been told she was head down at all appointments, even the 38 week one where they told me she might be breech! It was only at the very end when the midwife asked to have another feel and sent me to have a scan as she suspected breech. She'd assumed that the (big!) head was a bony bum!

Titsalinabumsquash · 05/03/2015 19:18

I'm pretty sure my wee one is breech atm, I can feel a perfectly round head at the top of my bump, it's worrying because I don't have anymore consultant/midwife appointments before induction, I hope a good midwife can tell by feel before they start me off!
