Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Turquoisetamborine · 05/03/2015 20:21

My baby moved into head down yesterday from breech a week ago so I think they still have plenty of room to move around. tits I'm sure they would check it before but I'm surprised you don't have anymore midwife appointments before your induction.

I'm still having spotting most days on wiping. I just don't know why but I'm trying not to worry about it. I just have to ring triage if it turns heavy and red.

I've got the nursery all sorted out now that I'm finished work. Just want to do a few bits of painting around the house that are irritating me.

Do you all have your nurseries nearly done?

Threesoundslikealot · 05/03/2015 20:24

No such thing in this house! But there's a place for the baby to sleep.

Threesoundslikealot · 05/03/2015 20:27

And for a proper catch up, Turqoise, I'm sorry you're worrying about the spotting. Tiny, tiny amounts of blood look like loads when you wipe, I know.

Tits, maybe if you tell them you're worried when you go for your induction, they'll do a quick position scan? I can't believe your induction is so close!

I'm not organised enough to take notes of all the posts, which is what I'd have to do to be an impressive proper responder, but I have been reading all the posts and really enjoying hearing all about everyone.

Chookford · 05/03/2015 20:56

No nursery ready here yet but we are moving in April to a much larger property so I will get it done when we move... It's a new build so only painting wallpapering to be done so no pulling walls down or anything!

turquiose sorry to hear your still have spotting but glad to hear they are keeping an eye on you, really hope it stops soon so you can relax and enjoy the last few weeks!

leanne963 · 05/03/2015 21:04

turqouise I have come to accept that I will probably bleed somewhat throughout! like you I have to keep an eye and make sure it doesn't turn red! Frustrating as it is always a bit of a worry!

Yup nursery all done!!! I've been very organised and have everything done, apart from a dimmable lamp for the room and my hospital bag!

Just wondering if anyone else got asked this? At my 28 week midwife appointment i had a different MW and she asked me if I would be staying with my mum when the baby was born!? I mentioned I was a student do you think that's why she said that? Just confused me why she assumed I would be needing my mums help after birth lol I don't think I look THAT young!!! Lol

SmileyScooby · 05/03/2015 21:21

Nope nursery not done....unless you count flatpacked crib in box, mattress in cover and car seat in the room as done hehe but the crib is going to go into our room and when we sort out the other room (find a home for all the stuff we had in there before!!) will get decorating and get cotbed etc in there.

Feeling really uncomfortable today, little man keeps "fanny daggering" (love that we have a phrase fr it now hehe) and was doing something so that the whole of one side of bump felt tense and full for about 10 mins most uncomfortable! On the plus side kids at school keep asking me how I am etc even the ones who were little toe rags before...although there is one group that I am worried that if I had bp reading after teaching them would be through the roof!

applecore0317 · 05/03/2015 21:26

leanne she probably assumed that as you are a student that you would be returning home.

Sorry you are still bleeding Turquoise

Hope those of you with breach babies get a baby that fancies popping itself into the correct position of its own accord :)

No nursery for me yet, we've been with my parents for a bit as we were saving for a house deposit and then this loveliness happened. So moving out in July renting my dads flat, then hopefully the new build we have our eye on will be ready to be reserved in December and built June 2016 :)

applecore0317 · 05/03/2015 21:28

Sorry you're getting the daggers Smiley

leanne963 · 05/03/2015 23:00

You are probably right apple for a sec I though 'oh god do I really not look ready?!'

Snooky17 · 05/03/2015 23:01

Weiged myself Shock so had 6 Jaffa cakes to cheer myself up Blush oh dear.

My nursery is half painted. Want to get some wall stickers but not sure what of, and a wardrobe and bookcase. Dm is going to get me a changing table with storage underneath. Cot can wait till.she has grown out of the moses basket as it is dd's bed at the moment and I am not sure she is quite ready for the midsleeper I have bought her.

Stressing a bit about my blood sugar after a high reading and constipated now which must be a side effect of reduced fruit. Suddenly counting down the days...

gingerfluffball · 06/03/2015 02:34

No nursery here either, we're using a co-sleeper by my side of our bed. Had cot sheets delivered in the post for it yesterday, can't wait to set it all up Smile

Had our first antenatal class yesterday, we covered early labour, how to deal with pregnancy aches and pains and massage techniques for birth partners. Delighted to also get a support belt for my sore back from the physio there, saves an appointment!

We toured the birth suites which was nice to get familiar with at this stage. I'm used to NHS hospitals and was totally shocked to see massive birthing rooms with big ensuites, a sofa for the dads, a tea and coffee station and a flat screen tv! Goodness knows what luxuries you get if you go private in Australia! Feeling more prepared though and midwives were lovely and very supportive of staying active through labour, using birthing balls and water baths and skin to skin with baby, which all resonated well with me. Almost looking forward to it...! I'm sure the nerves will kick in soon Grin

Scottishgal78 · 06/03/2015 06:41

longest check out eBay for wall stickers. I had my eye on ones I liked on Amazon and they were £30. Got identical ones on ebay from China for £5! Not put them up yet mind so they could be useless but I thought I'd take a gamble for a fiver! We've still to order the cot but I know what I want and the the 2 week Easter break will be 'operation nursery'Grin

KittyVonCatsington · 06/03/2015 06:49

Ooh, you're brave to weigh yourself scooby - I've hidden mine Grin

I had my first NHS antenatal parent class ginger - I did like that it was hospital specific as in this is what to expect when you are here - we offer this this and this etc. and will support you with this and this and the suchlike. Covered stages of labour and what to do when and methods of pain relief. Next week we have first 10 days after baby arrives. Lovely bunch of people there too and very local to me. And it was free! Don't feel so guilty not booking NCT. Have swapped some numbers already.

I am so happy it is Friday- Christ alive I'm tired Smile

Nursery hasn't even been started here; DH has still got stuff to clear out of the room! We want new carpet too. Baby will be in with us for 6-7 months but we still want to get it all done now.

They won't let you attempt a natural delivery in our hospital if you have a breech baby.

I had a tour of the midwife led centre last time: lovely birthing rooms and then lovely rooms with double beds so husbands can stay over while you're in afterwards. And then I needed a section last minute so that went out of the window and they hadn't even shown us the consultant led unit!

Sunshinesaz86 · 06/03/2015 07:50

Morning ladies! I second thank god it's Friday. I have struggled this week with tiredness and sore back! Only 2 more weeks to go tho!

Our nursery is pretty much ready got to sort through cupboards and drawers to make space for baby things as it's currently mine she DP's dressing room! All painted tho and cots built so feeling pretty ready.

I've not had any ante natal classes yet but think they start in two weeks time! I was 30 weeks yesterday! Horahh countdown into single figures begins!

applecore0317 · 06/03/2015 08:19

oooh 8 weeks left of work and 4 weeks till NCT classes start :)

working today and tomorrow but only half days then three days off. I'm back to full days next week but my manager said that if I am struggling again I can go back to half days, have to say that they have been great with me, helps that it's quiet at the moment.

Glad that everyone is happy with their hospital tours :)

Snooky I pretty much did that the other day, weighed myself and then had a day of eating crap... I need to hide the scales...

gingerfluffball · 06/03/2015 08:21

Ooh cuphat double rooms sound lovely, my hospital doesn't have that! DH is already freaking out about having to leave me and little-ginger in the hospital overnight after the birth while he goes home to sleep in an empty bed!

Part of me on the ward tour was also stubbornly thinking 'this is great, but if I have a caesarean I won't see any of it!' I'm hoping I've just got one of those babies which moves head down later, has been awkwardly transverse for the last few weeks.

Titsalinabumsquash · 06/03/2015 09:21

Luckily our local hospital lets partners stay on the ante natal and post natal wards, I think I wouldn't have survived when I had DS3 if Dp hadn't have been there, sadly I'm not exaggerating, u was a mess! Confused

I've never had a tour if the midwife led birthing suite, with all my past problems I have visions of the doors screaming and sealing shut should I darken them Grin the labour ward for us consultant led ladies is alright though, I'm only ever there for a few minutes to give birth before I go home or get moved back to Postnatal ward.

aberjen · 06/03/2015 09:37

Morning all Smile

Wonders whether to admit that DD is still squished in the box room where she was moved temporarily at Easter 2014 while the ILs visited, and still doesn't have a proper nursery

At some point we will sort rooms out properly. When this baby gets to 6 months-ish we'll prob move her into the box room that DD is currently in (she slept so well in there from the first night that we've been terrified of moving her!) and move DD to a proper room of her own with 'big girl bed' etc. Other advantage to DD being in the box room is that it is as far away as possible to room that DD2 will be in, really don't want DD1 to be woken up by DD2 in the night!

longestlurkerever · 06/03/2015 10:06

Thanks Scottish which ones did you choose? I had hot air balloons for Dd's nursery which were nice and colourful but did keep peeling off so may have benefitted from some extra glue.

The mlu at my hospital was lovely. Double bed, en suite bathroom and massive room. Felt really private too. Am almost certainly not allowed it this time Sad and the Labour ward seems to have been a building site since dd was born! Am hoping they might finally get it finished before May.

Am off work today and not collecting dd till 3 so going to pop out for a few nursery bits. Yeay!

leanne963 · 06/03/2015 12:11

Heya everyone thought I would share the scan I had this morning! Was amazing and I am measuring 4 days ahead as the little one is estimated to be 3lbs already!!!! Big baby!!! Lol

Chookford · 06/03/2015 12:22

Ahhhh leanne they are lovely!! It's a proper baby and everything!!! Grin

leanne963 · 06/03/2015 12:29

Haha thats what i said chook
