Big hugs to you both leanne and plinkyCakeFlowers

Kyz · 03/03/2015 20:52

Evening everyone :) Hope all is well?

Scan yesterday was fab, baby was very cooperative! He's now head down which explains the thumps I get right up top! I ended up paying a bit extra for a CD rom as the lady had five pages of photos for us when she had done and I really struggled to choose, there were so many good ones! He doesn't half look like DS did on his scans, was very odd! Yes apple it was a 3D one - I can post photos on the facebook group if you'd like to see them?

In the package for the scan we also got a heartbeat bear. DS (2yrs 3 months) has taken a liking to this bear, and calls it baby teddy. He asked if he could sleep with it, and he has been playing cars with it and trying to give it juice. I think he thinks it's the baby. He comes to me and says 'press it for me please mummy' and when I do his face lights up, it's beautiful. I think he's going to make a fab big brother, he's really melted my heart these past few days with his baby teddy!

hugs kittiker

longest glad you are both ok!

ooh, new car sounds fab shiny ours is in for its MOT tomorrow, I have my fingers crossed it passes!

Hi Leanne :) Yes, my temper is very short, I am likely to explode at the slightest hint of an annoyance and am just way over-sensitive right now, so least it's not just you, eh? :)

Lovely to see everyone else fancying curry atm! It has been my biggest pregnancy craving so far, I can't get enough of the stuff!

Fab pictures tori! What a gorgeous chubby little face, he's beautiful

I think i've cried at every single episode of OBEM i've ever watched lol, I don't watch it too often. Before being pregnant with this one, it brought back everything from DS's birth, and now i'm pregnant again it serves only to terrify the life out of me! Blush

qq, those of you with other children, is it normal to struggle with them growing up? I'm finding it really difficult atm, I don't know if it's pregnancy hormones talking, but when DS does things that are signs of him growing up, it can be anything really, I get ever so teary Blush. The other day we were talking about saying excuse me please instead of move, and he stood in front of a pile of books (was sorting through them) and he wanted to get past and he stood asking these books to 'skoomee please books' and I just burst into tears! He also wanted to put his own toothbrush back this morning which set me off again. This is normal, right? :S

sounds like you're having a tough time of it bean :( I can totally sympathise with the carrying of the toddler especially, carrying mine kilsl my back, he's just so heavy! I find myself really tired come tea time and putting him to bed seems like such hard work, especially as he is in a cot still and it's murder to lift him in and out

apple yep, lots of them! sometimes they are in odd places and quite violent jabs and they make me stop mid sentence or gasp or something!

you have such a lovely neat bump just

sounds like a good class shiny :) glad it went well

glad your scan went well just

glad you're ok leanne and that they are monitoring you

oh plinky :( big hugs!! hope your bp stays down and you're ok, bless you

leanne963 · 03/03/2015 20:55

snooky I am hugely grrrrrr at the moment! People's assumptions and rude questions about babies are pissing me off.....No, my partner isn't disappointed he is having a girl.....NO, finding out what we are having ISN'T going to ruin the magic of giving birth.....NO, my life will not be over once I have a baby. Major grrrrrr on all those points!

SmileyScooby · 03/03/2015 21:08

Still feeling really weighty and front heavy today - back aching still :(

Bean I can't imagine having being how I am as well as running around with a toddler, hope you can put your feet up a bit!!

Apple Yep I've had big movements that have made me gasp/jump, was in the middle of explaining a task to class today when I jumped - made the kids laugh though. Mine is also moving around side to side etc a lot

Just wonderful bump pic! Wish mine looked that neat - still bit b-shaped and is only harder at the top and goes squishy when I sit down hehe Glad all went well at scans today

Jenni hope you feel better soon and have rested up today

Turquoise hope doctor can help with iron probs and that the faintness etc has died down a bit.

Tori I'm sorry you still not feeling well, and hope gtt goes ok tomorrow.

Leanne hope all is ok and that they find out what caused it - but suppose as rubbish as it is to be admitted you are in best place. Totally agree with your grrrness comments re people saying that because you know there is no surprise/magic etc...yes there bloomin well is I don't know what my little man looks like and can't wait to meet him!! Plus means I can look at boy things and get ideas for what I want and put ideas forward to family for gifts hehe

Longest glad to hear blood sugars are doing ok :)

Kyz your son sounds a right cutie hehe

Snooky Yep my grrrness has been tested today, had a proper rubbish day at work as well.

Am pleased to hear people have been enjoying their antenatal classes :) am hoping when we have our whole day one at the weekend that it all sinks in - will be scribbling down lots I think!! Those who are doing NHS do you get handouts of leaflets and info?

Also am thinking about joining the fb group (but part of me likes the anon stuff hehe)...how many of us are on there now?

Think I've caught up now...so now for some rubbish tv hehe

applecore0317 · 03/03/2015 21:16

Aww kyz that sounds amazing. Definitelywant to see pics! and love the sound of the heartbeat teddy bear.

Have been umming and ahhing about getting one, but can't decide, they are pretty expensive here.

leanne sounds like some people need some sarcastic responses. I've apparently ruined the surprise as well, I remind people that there are so many surprises yet to come, watching her grow, first steps, first word, who she is going to be most like personality wise and so many more :)

I know some of us would rather wait, but it's a personal preference. We get a choice and some of us choose to find out :)

Internal scan day tomorrow, fingers crossed for further improvement

Ha I always say it's a big enough bloody surprise having a child removed from your body to add any other surprises into the mix!

I was stupid today. I had hundreds of pages of redaction to do. So I just sat down and got on with it. After an hour with the heavy duty marker pen I had made myself quite sick, was basically stoned on the fumes and stood up and had to quickly sit back down. I was always going to be fine and I just needed a moment but all my colleagues started going mad, 'WE MUST CALL AN AMBULANCE! WE MUST CALL HER DH! WHAT IF SHES NOT OK?'

As soon as a I got my head away from the damn pen it passed and I told them all to calm down, but man I hope labour doesn't kick off at work. It will traumatise them all forever!

Turquoisetamborine · 03/03/2015 22:29

What a kerfuffle over marker pen Bean! Hope you aren't working up until the last minute or it might just happen at work!!

Leanne I hope you are settled in a nice quiet bed and manage to get some rest. I was on a very noisy ward and it drove me mad. Must take earplugs next time. Plinky so sorry about the preeclampsia. Better to get an early diagnosis though.

I've had more pink discharge but I'm waiting til I see the consultant in the morning. I'm not ringing the hospital at this time. Nothing is straightforward in this pregnancy.

leanne963 · 03/03/2015 23:14

Oh hope the pink discharge is nothing turqouise the lady opposite me is in early stages of labour and there are lots of groaning and 'oh my god owwwwwww' which is quite terrifying as I can really sense the pain in her voice. No amount of OBEM has prepared me for hearing it in real life! Ha! Luckily I did bring ear plugs!!!

shinyhappyone · 04/03/2015 07:24

Morning all. Car pick up day today and then Cornwall tomorrow! Yay! Whopping cough vaccine in between though Confused.
Smiley, I'm on fb group but don't check it that often. I'll be honest, I'm hanging round to see gorgeous pics of our little ones in a matter of weeks! Mumsnet app on my phone doesn't show me pics-rubbish!
Was looking at birthing options and pain relief before bed last night - bad idea = very vivid labour dreams!
Hope you're ok this morning Leanne band plinky. Keep us updated xx

KittyVonCatsington · 04/03/2015 07:40

kyz your Baby Teddy has mean quite ready in a good way -how awesome is your son!!??

FX your pink discharge is nothing to worry about Turquoise

Who knew a marker pen could couse such mayhem bean?! Very funny!

I have my midwife appointment today the 32 week one but am only 31+3 - hope all is good Grin

Morning everyone. Thinking of Leanne, Plinky and anyone else suffering - I hope you're being well looked after.

Feeling sorry for myself because of wisdom tooth pain - going to have to try and get an appointment asap. Am a terrible coward about the dentist so have been putting off dealing with it for ages as I know it needs to come out, but yesterday and this morning it's been really quite painful so I must face up to it! Makes me worry about how I'll cope with labour if I'm such a baby about a toothache! Confused

Hope you all have a good day Smile

bradders85 · 04/03/2015 08:33

I have midwife this morning too kitty 31+6 hope we both have good appointments, be interesting to see where baby is in the chart as I was measuring above top line last time!!
piglet hope you get your tooth sorted, toothache is awful. I had to get DP to emergency dentist on Monday (he isn't registered like me) - I have never ever seen him in so much pain he was literally rolling around on the floor! Luckily we got him in and they pulled it out much to his relief - that was a wisdom tooth too that had collided with the one in front. Hope you get sorted asap.

Hope everyone has a good day :)

applecore0317 · 04/03/2015 08:38

piglet My best friend still says that she would rather go through labour another ten times than have bad toothache. It is just such a frustratingly sh*t pain! My DH thought I was making a fuss until he got an abcess, he now has sympathy :)

Off for blood tests in a bit... wooo

piglet81 · 04/03/2015 08:47

Thanks ladies! Good luck with the appointments today. ??

Grrrr stupid new doctors receptionist booked me in with the wrong person for my bloods, so it was a wasted journey! hoping that the consultant can arrange for them to be done at the hospital when I go for my appt in a couple of hours

Apple booo, so annoting hope they can sort it out for you today.

shiny ooooh new car smell... I love it! Hope you have a lovely time in Cornwall!

piglet sorry to hear about your toothache, it really is one of those pains I just cant deal with!

kitty and bradders good luck at midwife today.

I had my first growth scan yesterday, and all is well.. baby is growing as it should all the measurements are only just slightly under the average line but sure it will catch up in the next few weeks, we had the view switched to 4d for a while and it was amazing to see, baby had hand over eye asleep and thats how my dd was in all her scans too and still sleeps like that now, it was a very sweet moment! Grin

leanne963 · 04/03/2015 10:40

Morning all! I am free!!!! Boyfriend just picked me up and we are on our way home! Two women in the ward I was on went into labour and ended up having babies!!Needless to say I got no sleep ha!

Ouch piglet those wisdom teeth can be pesky buggers! Hope they aren't too painful!!!

longestlurkerever · 04/03/2015 10:42

I really like Oliver James, classy and simple. I have chosen Bethan (Beth) but middle name not definite. Front runner is Katerina. Catherine is a family name I wanted to use but not sure about the two "th" sounds.

You know what, I am feeling lots better on new diet. Still tired in the evenings but in a less run down and broken way. Thrush, eye infection and mouth ulcers all cleared up. Bit worried I have had this insulin resistance for a while, maybe even pre pregnancy. It's linked to pcos which I have and blame for my miscarriages. Am having to be quite strict to keep levels low though. Pasta sent it to borderline levels yesterday. Who knows what chocolate would do. Luckily curry is ok as long as I steer clear of naan!

Chookford · 04/03/2015 10:45

leanne hooray for freedom, hope everything has settled down now!

longest glad to hear new diet is making you feel better, long may it continue!

longestlurkerever · 04/03/2015 10:49

Great news leanne! Your own bed will feel fab!

kyz I will join you in the nostalgia. Dd's new room is painted (looks fab) and she is moving in tonight. Getting her to choose which pics and things she wants to take with her to her new room and she has quite sweetly decided to donate her boat mobile and rabbit lamp to the baby. i bought that mobile when ttc was taking a while as an act of faith that we wouldget there and now sheis growing up! I quite like it in a way. The rate she is learning at is incredible. Have a parents' meeting at nursery this morning and she has progressed so much since the last one. Can't wait to see what they say.
