Cinnamon what a strange dream! And I don't know what sex baby I'm having so can't help at the moment about the sweet craving theory - I have felt that it would be a girl through most of the pregnancy but recently doubting my prediction so I really don't know.

I'm sure that the baby parts I feel sticking out under right side of my ribs are feet, but that's because I had a scan less than 2 weeks ago and baby has been head down and back to the left since 28 weeks! Not sure how far down head is though, I have borrowed my mums gym ball to bounce on to try and encourage it to stay well down and not move.

Hmm must look for a couple of nursing tops too! My shopping list is never ending Grin

PenguinPoser · 22/02/2015 12:01

Chicken I have been using bio oil twice daily since 12 weeks and no stretch marks yet. Although I have no way of knowing what would have happened if I hadn't used it, and there's time for them to appear yet.

FiRaffe · 22/02/2015 12:16

My baby keeps turning, was head down at 28 weeks, but last weekend had turned, I think they're head down again now but playing somersaults!

Lauren82000 · 22/02/2015 12:27

No stretch marks here so far and I've hardly moisturised my bump at all. Just when the skin feels a bit tight or dry. Certainly proving it's a genetic lottery wether you get them or not.

skyra13 · 22/02/2015 12:29

Got to say I am an unlucky one Husband now calls me a Zebra also says looks like a lion has clawed me my stretch marks are horrible!! I have always suffered with them since a child though have to learn to love them!! I am also abit lazy with the bio oil an things as mine just appeared over night!

cinnamongreyhound · 22/02/2015 12:29

I was quite lucky ChickenMe in that one gel started me off. Had a few hours of strange on off pains and discomfort in my cervix and then contractions got more regular. With ds1 I was sick constantly and my waters went around 18hrs after I was induced and was 4cm dilated. Things slowed around 5cm's due to me pushing for an hour and a half having been told I was fully dilated by one midwife only for changes of shift and new midwife saying I had to fight against it so I had the drip and an epidural at that point. Had about 6hrs with drip to get to fully dilated and then pushed him out in 10mins. Ds2 we called hospital around 5hrs after gel as I was sent home and they said to come in by the time we arrived I was 8cm dilated and had waters broken and he was born 2hrs later with about 30mins pushing. I haven't experienced noninduced contractions so no idea what the difference is but kind of assume with ds2 once contractions became regular and were dilating cervix actively that it was similar to natural labour as its not a constant hormone dose like the drip is. They say you respond better to it if your cervix has dilated before but still no ideal.

Neither of my boys engaged more than 2/5th even at 40w+13! The consultant commented on how high this baby is at my scan on Tuesday. Don't reallt understand t as my pelvis is clearly big enough for them or I wouldn't have had natural deliveries but almost all of my bump is above the belly button!

Lauren82000 · 22/02/2015 12:42

Skyra my DH used to call me 5 bellies because I had a couple if creases on my tummy and when I was sat down looked like I had 5 little rolls. That was pre DD though and it reduced to 2 bellies but it doesn't have the same ring to it does it? Smile

BananaToast · 22/02/2015 13:32

Just caught up with the last couple of days posts, was at a friend's wedding yesterday which was lovely but exhausting!

Annia I would second (third?) the recommendation for Marie Mongan's hypnobirthing book - I picked up my copy second hand for about £3 on Amazon and am really enjoying it. Not too hippie for me which I worried it might be.

cinnamon I've got a sweet tooth (obsessed with mini eggs!) and having a boy.

I don't have any stretch marks yet either. I've been using bio oil every night and usually some other stretch mark cream I got free in some pack or other in the morning. I think it's mainly genetic though, I'm hoping that because my mum never got any I will also be lucky.

My belly button is still an innie, but much shallower than it used to be! It's usually very deep but I wouldn't be that surprised if it pops seeing as I've still got two months of growing to do.

So exhausted today - slept in a not very comfortable hotel bed last night and woke up constantly uncomfortable. Having a laze on the sofa this afternoon before clearing stuff out of the nursery ready for the decorator to wallpaper in there tomorrow.

We bought our car seat this week so think we have officially ticked off all the essentials on our list.

daholster · 22/02/2015 14:18

Hello all! Smogs I had genuinely forgotten about Narnia!!! It is more about the sea... We are looking for a nature middle name and LOVE scuba diving so ocean related might be cool. But not "Ocean"... This morning I thought of

Rory Brook
Rory Beck
Rory Jay

Other options are Jamie and Jack:

Rory Jack
Jamie Rowan
Jack Rowan (dh doesn't like Rowan, says it's weak Hmm)
Jamie Jack

But I'm reckoning the frontrunners for dh are

Rory Heath
Jamie Heath
Rory Jack

Any other nature suggestions welcome. He said no to Fenn... And I don't like Glenn!!!

RL hope you are feeling happier.

I remember baby cakes! Must be very scary for her and her dp.

We have taken the side off dd's cot today. And put a gate on her door! She looks pleased about the bed... Put her down for a nap and she has clattered her feet on the back bars for the last 40 mins but appears not to have got up... All had gone silent but she's just coughed herself awake I think, doh!

Whoevere said about terrible twos... dd is 22 months this week. Suddenly tantrums abound and she is throwing EVERYTHING, omg!!! I got properly hormonal this lunch time though when she threw her chunk of cheese, we told her no, that's it, no cheese... She started crying for the cheese, and I said "no you threw it, so the cheese is going in the bin." She looked at me a little sad and then turned towards where the cheese lay and said in a tiny sad voice "bye bye cheese..." It was funny but I felt so sad too for her and I ended up bursting into tears! With dh laughing at me and dd worrying about why I was upset!!! Good grief! I offered a yoghurt which distracted her from my upset... And I ate the cheese in secret!!!

She lobbed a calpol plug in at me this morning which whacked me plug pin side first on the back of my hand. Yesterday she broke her 1st birthday memory piggy bank by throwing it (we shouldn't have let her near it in retrospect so largely our fault, she is still v young - but she had been playing so nicely with it until then.

Just got a call to say new sofa will be delivered on Weds. Not much time to get rid of the old one!!! Dh is off to Edinburgh on Tuesday!!!

Argument with dh too because he says the nursery and front room just won't be done so I will be disappointed. I wish we could keep the house cleaner and crack on. Still, I don't like his pessimistic attitude. You just wait, I'll show him... If I have my way BOTH rooms will be done even if I show him up exhausting myself doing it mostly on my own!!! < determined face >

Just had a funny moment, turned over, severe bump pain on left, had to get up for dd and couldn't straighten, tiny warm rush vaginally... All eased off and nothing more has happened. Wary since I had a possible hindwater leak last time (was never confirmed and self sealed so no issue really), so it did give me a moment of wondering! I think much more likely he was ina funny position and the getting up meant either a teeny bit of wee or discharge! Baby boy is wriggling like a trooper Smile

No sound from dd's room... Could it be that she stayed in bed... And went to sleep?!!!! Shock I'm going to peek!!!

32+5

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 22/02/2015 14:19

I couldn't stop eating those swizzels double lollies when I had my youngest boy...

(having eldest I couldn't keep food down except for fruit and frozen sweet & sour dinners)
this time it's maoam chews and having a girl.

daholster · 22/02/2015 14:22

By "funny moment" I meant odd... Was not funny, I couldn't even stand up at first! Didn't last long though. Just a bit weird!!!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 22/02/2015 14:25

hopefully it's ok, daholster!

might be worth ringing the hospital and asking though

TheBooMonster · 22/02/2015 14:52

daholster DD is also in the much loved terrible two's, and she has finally mastered 'no'... Not sure I've ever seen DH so relieved to go to work after being off the past 3 days!

Jojo clothes are lovely! I've got their spotty breast feeding tops and they're so comfy!

daholster · 22/02/2015 14:59

Thanks ebwy, nothing more since despite exerting myself sorting the front room while dh is snoring... No more warm bits so I think its ok, and that pain is gone. Any more warm mini gush business and o wil be straight on the phone though.

boo they can be such hard work can't they?!

My daughter is ASLEEP... Upside down, not under the blanket, but asleep!!! Grin

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 22/02/2015 15:43

wow! does she want to teach my 2 year old how to do that?

he's avoiding his nap at the moment...

RL, big hug - hope you've had better out of your other half today.

Chicken, I'm using the Body Shop's shea butter on the bump, less for stretch marks and more because otherwise it itches like anything, so keeping the skim moisturised keeps me comfortable. I had pre-existing stretch marks from weight loss issues as a kid/young adult, so I'm not particularly fussed, but I've not noticed any new ones.

Thanks for hypnobirthing book suggestions, will see what I can get out of my local library.

Decorator has just left - the nursery is now sans carpet (as it should be!), walls and ceiling have been sanded down/plastered and prepped with lining paper, ready for the paint to start going on next weekend. As DH said, it looks better already. Also, I have found a lampshade which I really want to get but am holding fire on for the time being until we decide what else we want: georgiawilkinson.co.uk/index.php/lampshades/puffin-lampshade-yellow.html?___SID=U I have her owl lampshade in my study, and I really like the puffins!

TheBooMonster · 22/02/2015 17:08

daholster and it's so much worse when they seem to have a never ending supply of colds! I managed to poke ca look down her earlier and she slept, but then woke up having forgotten every. Single. Word. She. Knows. Apart from no, and she used it for everything, screaming louder and louder as she did so at my lack of understanding! Turns out she wanted a packet of crisps and the to off (I'm less certain about the to part, but I exhausted every children's tv channel we had and everything I could see on Netflix so for my sanity it got turned off!)

I have stretch marks along the bottom of my bump creeping in, didn't get them till afterwards las time O.o I'm rubbing oil into it every time I come across a bottle in the house! Thanks to all the subscription boxes we have lots of little sample pots and tubes!

RL20 · 22/02/2015 17:23

Thanks all. Today has been better but feeling a bit annoyed as he's just been moping around all day and we were meant to be going for a meal tonight, but he's just announced that he feels like crap so were not going. Not sure what to do with myself now. We haven't done anything together properly for months apart from staying in, so I was looking forward to it but now it's just back to square one when now is the only time we are going to be able to do things before baby is here.

Stretch marks subject - like I said some have developed in places other than my actual bump but I only used my cream in the beginning a few times after having a bath. Wish I had stuck with it but who can say if it would of made a difference, oh well!

Boo - my bump cream is a sample one I think it's called Mum & Me but I could be wrong. Also have a little sample of sudocrem in a little tub which is soo cute! I actually had a leaflet through the post the other day for another sample pack which I keep meaning to take down to Boots.

Daholster hope you're ok and haven't had anymore "odd moments"!

Can't believe I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow... I really don't know where the weeks are going?
It will be my last week of work next week, which sometimes I feel guilty about as some days I feel less lethargic than others and think that really I could carry on for a bit longer. But then half way through a shift, I remember exactly why I'm going on maternity that little bit earlier. And I also want to feel really prepared.
I'm sure I'll have days where I'll get a bit frustrated and not know what to do with myself, but it won't last for long!

mswibble · 22/02/2015 17:47

I am so jealous of all of you who are stretch mark free! I have a whole row of them on the bottom of my bump and going round my hips. Nothing really on my bump though which surely is the bit that has stretched the most! I was devastated when I saw just how bad they are - and I have 9wks left! I've taken to smothering myself with Palmers Body Oil which I have to say it pretty bloody good. Its already taken the deep red look off the marks and they don't look as angry. Plus I smell like chocolate which is luvverly! I hate BioOil but will definitely keep using this Palmers stuff.

Had my second GTT on Friday and thankfully they just sent me straight to Pathology rather than letting the midwives attempt to find my blood. Hoping to get the results tomorrow but I'm already convinced it will be positive for GD. Sad

I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one waking to a soggy pillow! The amount of dribbling and drooling is quite ridiculous, wonder what it is about pregnancy that causes this delightful symptom?!

I'm just getting impatient now, I want to finish work, I want the house to be finished and I want to meet my bambino! (Though obviously I know its best to keep him baking for quite a few weeks more!)

Sorry to hear you're having probs RL, sometimes men just haven't got a bloody clue have they?

Squatting yes that's the one, from the bounty pack. I started using it when I still had really bad sickness and nausea and I can't remember if the smell was the reason I stopped using it. I'm going to put some on tonight now though, even if it is just to moisturise the already existing stretch marks!
And to mswibble aswell - I wouldn't really say he's in a mood for talking at all as he's just slumped on the sofa as he already had a cold (which I had a week or 2 ago) so going out drinking last night hasn't helped it all.
No, men really don't have a clue! I'm pretty sure I didn't make all of these pathetic noises to make him feel sorry for me when I had it. I feel so irritable as I was looking forward to getting out of the house for a change ??

In other news, baby seems really wriggly today! Like a big fish wafting around in there

brummagem · 22/02/2015 18:22

I'm expecting a boy and have developed not so much of a sweet tooth but an entire set of sweet teeth plus dentures just in case! Trying to rein it in with homemade smoothies but have the fridge stocked with galaxy chocolate (love having it coat my mouth and then drinking a hot cuppa so it melts it all) and yoghurt plus magnums in the freezer. No wonder I've put on 2st already! Was hoping to be on the 30lb gain by birth. Hmm. Have semi packed the baby bag just need to wash the blankets but not even started on mine yet. The list is so huge I think I'll have a mission control suitcase thing with a tiny bag inside for essentials. Takes me back to when used to go clubbing and had a bag with everything in including flat shoes which went into cloakroom and then the tiny bag with money and phone that came into club with me. Only clubs I'm likely to come across now is with a deck of cards while snuggled into pjs lol

RL20 · 22/02/2015 19:05

Brummagem glad to read I'm not the only one!
I've put on roughly a stone and a half I believe, so don't worry too much!
I perhaps would of put more on but up to around 16 weeks I barely ate anything with having sickness and nausea 24/7!
Feel like I am making up for it now though, sometimes if I wake up in the night for a wee I feel a bit peckish so if I'm not too tired to walk to the kitchen I'll sometimes grab a 3am biscuit Confused

Lauren82000 · 22/02/2015 19:19

I caught sight of my bum in the mirror in the pub at lunch time and it's huge! A proper shelf with my question mark back. Blush Must stop eating chocolate. I have to say even though I'm in maternity jeans they are still my normal size so not sure how much they add material wise apart from the over bump bit. Might just be because of my curved back. Wink
