RL twins are both boys and are in nicu but the message that was sent to the class leader was that Mum and babies were ok.
Before you write loads of notes like I did check if you get hand outs at the end because I wrote an essay in the 1st week then we got a pack of notes repeating what I had wrote!

RL20 · 19/02/2015 10:16

Oh that's good, wow 31 weeks seems scary as that's exactly where I'm at now Shock
I must get that hospital bag packed! Just waiting until next week when I can get other things to add to it such as a nightie etc.
Good point, will try and remember to ask before the class starts. Must also remember to eat something before I go seeing as you mentioned your class over ran.

cinnamongreyhound · 19/02/2015 10:19

Try the mobile site RL20, go to the normal site and scroll all the way to the bottom and it has mobile site written, click that and hey presto :)

RL20 · 19/02/2015 10:35

Thanks Cinnamon. I managed to find Hiding's photos but no one else's and I kept clicking 'last posts' rather than 'next' Confused It's been a long time since I used the mobile site!

Loving the Disney teddies Hiding. In my local Asda there are so many Disney themed baby clothes! Mainly Tigger for boys, I've obviously not looked at the girls clothes!
My mum bought a Tigger 4 piece set last week which is gorgeous blue stripy, includes a sleepsuit with the built in scratch mitts, short sleeve bodysuit, hat and bib. Soo cute! I think it was only around £8.

TheBooMonster · 19/02/2015 10:46

Scan went ok, she's dropped from centile: 41 to 21 but as she's still between the lines they're not concerned, the very fast talking doctor lady said all my results looked good and they'd see us in 4 weeks, give them a ring if I had concerns, see you bye. so didn't have a chance to discuss my newfound desire for a section with spaying. Shall have to get on the computer later if there are more nursery pictures!

Yikes, rather glad I put my foot down on chucking out the rug that had been in the nursery! Glad baby and brother are not irreparably hurt!

Wineandchoccy · 19/02/2015 11:02

Glad the scan went ok Boo

My brother was ok but his wife did make him change lots of nappies once his arm was out of plaster to make up for 6 weeks of being one handed.

My DH played 5 a side football last night for the 1st time and I said please try and not break anything this close to the due date.

AnniaFausta · 19/02/2015 11:51

Boo, glad there was nothing to be concerned about for the scan, even if they got you in and out a bit quickly.

Have just drunk my first cup of raspberry leaf tea, not without trepidation! It's generated some movement from the baby (although we're around the usual late morning activity period anyway), and what feels like a little bit of lightheadedness which is probably psychosomatic, and some fairly mild tightening around the middle of the bump which lasted for 10-15 minutes. That's higher than I think I've felt Braxton-Hicks, so if that's how the muscles get tensed up, at least I know it's doing something different.

Siarie · 19/02/2015 11:59

Loving the nursery pictures, our nursery is sort of half and half at the moment. We are going to move out before she grows out of the hammock so haven't ordered the cotbed yet. So pretty much the room just has her dresser /changer in.

I kind of would have liked to have it all done but at least I can do that later on when we move, the current room has built in wardrobes too so we might need to order something for that.

I've started the washing of the newborn clothes! so cute, I just took the tights out so that I can tumble dry the rest and it smells amazing. I bought non bio baby friendly detergent and conditioner just in case she has sensitive skin (her dad totally does).

Also my playmat arrived this week! A lovely present from family members, it's the Mamas and Papas Magic one and oh my goodness it's so nice! The music that is plays makes me want to go have a nap on it. It's really calming rather than the annoying baby toys you can get. I have a good feeling that it's going to be a firm favourite when she arrives. Beautiful light show too!

Wineandchoccy · 19/02/2015 12:19

Siarie was it you that had made the jars with the pink lids and zoo animals?

Here are mine that I made using farm animals

Siarie · 19/02/2015 12:45

It was indeed Wine, the farm animal jars look lovely! Mine have come in handy, i've got cotton wool and little toiletries in there at the moment. Going to store headbands and that too :)

Heyitsholly · 19/02/2015 12:47

A very frustrated Holly here. SadSadSad
Got told by Taylor wimpey last week that the house was likely to be ready by the end of march.got all excited. Called to confirm this today and the lady casually says "oh the site manager disagreed we'd be lucky if its late may now". I had to let her know that in no uncertain terms i would be homeless if it takes that long ( she doesnt know im pregnant and will have a new child) as the house im in has been sold for completion 8th of May as that's when she reliably informed us last time it would be done by at the very latest. Id started decluttering for packing and left the cot unmade thinking it was easier to move like that.
Also been to the midwife who couldn't of cared less about my vision as all my other checks were ok , she just said "that must be hard if your still working" and ushered me out the door.
Im going to the vending machine at work to make me feel happier before seeing clients this afternoon. Sad

Sorry for ranting, all these nursery's and jars look adorable. I had tried to teach myself to knit but gave up yesterday , im not destined to be a knitter too many holes and i don't know why!

BrixtonBunny · 19/02/2015 12:56

Hello, sorry have been rubbish at keeping up the last few days, I've got too much to think about with house renovation in full swing!

The electrics are almost complete, we have a new boiler, the old kitchen has been ripped out, the carpet and laminate flooring has all been ripped up, the old wallpaper is half stripped, and a huge hole has been knocked in the wall between the little kitchen and the dining room making it feel much more spacious. We've now found someone to do the kitchen, have booked the floor sanding man, have ordered the kitchen appliances and tiles... Phew! Feeling like I can't make any more decisions but need to pick paint this weekend, then get a new bath and loo. Would dearly love to retile the very dated bathroom but that will have to wait as we can't do everything!

Quite tired and very VERY poor now Hmm

So glad for your good scans cinnamon and boo!

Boo your DH sounds like he needs a huge kick up the arse, I'd be furious!

I'm also one who is going to midwife appointments alone - don't see the point in us both going, but DP is coming to NCT and has been to scans etc.

Will read back properly now.

33+1 today. Three weeks tomorrow until finishing work! Grin

BrixtonBunny · 19/02/2015 12:57

Annia how many weeks are you? I'd be nervous about starting the RL tea just yet but I'm not sure when you're supposed to start drinking it - assumed it was around 36 weeks?

OP posts:
BrixtonBunny · 19/02/2015 13:00

RL you're very patient - if my DP told me at 5am that I'd forgotten to make him lunch I would be utterly furious! It's amazing enough that you make him lunch every day, don't feel bad about missing a day. Maybe I'm just horrible. Though this week I did make my DP flapjacks which I've been putting in his bag every day....

AnniaFausta · 19/02/2015 13:09

Brixton, somebody on an earlier thread gave the following recommendations:

1 cup every other day at 32 weeks, 1 cup every day at 33 weeks, 1 or 2 cups a day at 34 weeks, 2 cups a day at 35 weeks and then up to 3 cups a day from 36 weeks

I was 32 weeks yesterday, so I'm on a cup every other day, which feels like a good limbering up/getting used to it strategy. I suspect I shan't go up to 3 cups a day until I've finished work at 37+2, though! I checked at my last midwife appointment and she said those numbers were perfectly fine, incidentally.

BrixtonBunny · 19/02/2015 13:10

Annia that's really useful, thanks. I'll pick some up from Holland and Barrett's on my way home!

Glad your scan went ok Boo although rubbish that you didn't get to ask your questions!

Heyitsholly that absolutely sucks about the house. We bought new build nearly 3 years ago now and it ended up being so close to us having nowhere to live as well. Our solicitor pushed and pushed them as the builders wanted the contract back and we refused until it was habitable. Hope your vision isn't too bad. I've noticed last week or so as well that I take much longer to focus on things like between phone and tv for example if I look up and further distance things look blurry for a bit. BP and urine fine so not too worried but I wonder if it's related to water retention as that is also getting worse and I'm sure I remember some sort of connection!

Brixton glad your renovations are moving along well.

Siarie I loved washing the clothes too they smell so cute and baby like - I used asdas baby detergent stuff and it's now the smell I associate with my unborn child Smile

I'm tired today - slept really badly last night and feel bad as when I do sleep I'm so stuffed up that I snore and then end up keeping DH awake. still sore and hobbling/waddling around. So ready to finish work now...

kismac · 19/02/2015 14:20

Oooh, I'm starting my raspberry leaf tea on Sunday! Eek!

We've not done anything to the spare room that'll be baby's room as they'll be in with us for first 6 months then we'll probably put a bit more effort in and get some stickers etc.

Holly, I've been getting wee floaty things but putting it down to being knackered. Hope it clears up and if MW isn't too concerned then that sounds like a good sign.

StuntNun · 19/02/2015 14:24

The baby's crib arrived today Grin unfortunately the mattress didn't arrive today Hmm

Wineandchoccy · 19/02/2015 14:28

Well Thank you Siarie for sharing how to make them, I have got cotton wool, wash cloths and hairbrush nail scissors etc in them.

heyitsholly how frustrating when you were told an expected date. Can your solicitor help move things along?

Brixton it sounds like you have been very busy

Hi all! Well, morning done, out of hours might be cancelled due to staffing issues from sickness... A bit of an arse really because like I keep saying I need to rack the hours up!!!

Had an odd scare this morning but am blaming my bum and colitis and evil hemorrhoids!!! Which have come back at 32 weeks despite the fact that I hardly ever even use my bum any more!!! Grin Anyone who doesn't know my medical history must be very confused now...!

So I got up after my weird night last night and some painful moving overnight, not feeling strange as I did yesterday. Went to the loo. Came back and sat on the bed to get ready. When I stood up... Patch of blood on the bed sheet!!! Omg!!! Quickly realised it was most likely my poorly butt causing the issue so went back to the bathroom, but hard to tell because it was everywhere! Shock

Cleaned myself up and had a feel as you do... And all seemed fine discharge wise, so I stuck on a pantyliner and went to work. Nothing weird has happened since... Am assuming my colitis and piles are to blame! Hmm Definitely need to dig out that steroid it seems...

Brought my notes to work just in case but all has been ok. Colleague mentioned I look like I have lost weight... I have, but only a kilo. Have lost that in the third trimester. I'm not trying. It's very odd.

The baby makes me so uncomfortable in the bladder region when the braxton hicks are on, it's quits painful and can make me jolt! So much of me wishes I had finished work but the rest of me knows I have so much left I have to do!!!

Holly that sucks. Tell them you are pregnant and to blooming well get on with it!!! Poor you!

MoominMama22 · 19/02/2015 15:10

Feel like crying.Had usual 34 wk MW appt just now and BP was up again and now protein in pee for the first time and she just said " so Sat or Sun best for you for home visit? We will need to see you over the weekend". I feel like I don't know what's going on or why how who....
I'm presuming they have pre-e concerns. When I talked about my vision again they said to go to the optician.
I'm scared and want info but too scared to google don't want to get myself into a flap, and my Mother-in-midwife-in-law who is the font of all knowledge and calm is not answering the phone.

Can someone please tell me what best case scenario is for pre-e if it stays manageable can I expect to still have normal vaginal delivery? Will I inevitably be induced?
Sorry these are Qs for google but I'm literally too scared to type stuff in and be faced with horror stories.
