Great news want and lizzi!

misseskimo · 15/01/2015 13:41

Fatty I'll have a look at the stats when back at ny desk in a bit. Last time it went wrong was cause someone had tried to add themselves in at the right date by pulling down everyone else, whereas better to add at bottom then sort a-z on date... I'll look in a bkt though Smile

Aretepetite · 15/01/2015 14:29

Oh my god, my heart is breaking for Pip Flowers they are in my prayers. :(

Anyone in or near Manchester (Sophie?) may want to visit the Arndale Mamas and Papas store, which is closing down on 14/02. 30-70% off most things.

broodylicious · 15/01/2015 15:11

Oh arete, I'm so sorry about your friend. Sending you love and hugs xxx

Aretepetite · 15/01/2015 15:38

Thank you so much Broody xx

MuddyWellyNelly · 15/01/2015 16:48

Haven't been on this thread much but just caught Pips news. I'm so very sad to read it. Thinking of her and her DH :(.

I almost feel uncomfortable posting that I had my scan today at 12+2 and all was fine. Baby was rocking and waving all over the place, measured a day ahead, (but sure of Dates due to IVF); Nuchal measurement was 1.5mm and sonographer saw nothing to worry her. A big relief but it all still feels rather surreal. No purchasing of anything here!

Hope everyone else is well. Will continue to mainly lurk, but feel always behind as I'm due 28th July!

missmorse · 15/01/2015 17:43

I had the weirdest, scary dreams last night too. the kind I had to wake myself up from, because they were terrifying. Urg...

On a more light hearted note (because I have to share this story with someone)… We went on a tour of the hospital where we’ll be having our baby yesterday, and people were asking the nurses about the kinds of strange baby names they’d come across. Some asked what the weirdest name they'd ever heard was. And the nurses all talked about a particular family, from which several different members of the family had given birth over the years at the same hospital, that has have a tradition of naming their babies after whatever the mother is craving during the pregnancy. So there was one little baby called Kiwi, another called Pineapple…

And – the best – a baby called "Chicken" as a first name and "Cupcake" as a middle name.

Makes me think whatever I call my kid, it won’t be as bad as it could be…. ! Wink

Thepurplegiraffe · 15/01/2015 17:50

Really sorry to hear your sad news Arete, that is awful. Please take care of yourself, this pregnancy thing is stressful enough.

Great news Muddy, with that due date you are very firmly within the group!

LaLa5 · 15/01/2015 18:01

So sorry about your friend arete, hope you're ok

Muddy don't feel uncomfortable, that's lovely news that you saw your baby Smile

Number3cometome · 15/01/2015 18:48

Hi ladies, hope you are all ok today, just catching up now!

Scan went well! Baby was asleep and curled up so after a bit of prodding and poking it got moving!
NT measurement was 1.5 - no idea what that means, had my blood test they said no news is good news, bad news would come by phone in 3-4 days.

They had a look but couldn't tell the sex of the baby as it wasn't facing us! Baby was facing my back / upside down most of the time.

I am so happy, felt sad OH wasn't there, but we got a picture so that was good.

My dates have been changed again! Now gone from the 18th to the 25th and back to the 19th now, so 14 weeks on Sunday.

They did some growth chart for me which I haven't seen before, because my last two were over the 90th centile they want to do a Glucose test I think I just grow larger babies, although neither was what I would call big! (9lb on due date and 8lb 2 at 38 weeks)

Next scan booked for early March, consultant booked for early Feb.

Best of luck to all of those having scans in the next few days!

number3 what a super scan pic Grin

WantToGoingTo · 15/01/2015 19:27

Number I have a chart in my notes that shows normal nt measurement is anything below 3 so 1.5 is low! Mine was 1.5 though still waiting for combined risk result :)

missmorse · 15/01/2015 19:29

awh, lovely pic :)

ohlordyplordy · 15/01/2015 19:36

Lovely pic number.
twinkly if you're reading, good luck in the morning!

Zampa · 15/01/2015 19:40

I'm really frustrated with how the NHS deliver the Down's Syndrome results. It would be helpful if with the results they could send an explanation as to how they were reached. For example, X part is based on your age, Y is on the bloods and Z is in the nuchal fluid.

My result is 1/480 and I know that my nuchal was within the normal range (2.0) and I'm 34, so I'm guessing the issue is with the bloods.

I've had a good Harmony result so I'm not worried but I certainly would be without that reassurance.

Thepurplegiraffe · 15/01/2015 19:50

Zampa I feel the same, I spent ages looking it up as my risk had increased 4 times from my last pregnancy not that long ago. It looked to me like it was due to the bloods. But now I don't know how important the bloods part of the test is.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 15/01/2015 19:53

It is frustrating I agree. When I had the test with DD I didn't even get the actual risk number, just a letter saying I was 'low risk'. I asked the midwife and they said anything less than 1:100 (I think) was considered low risk so then I panicked that mine was 1:101 and I had just missed being considered high risk.

Zampa · 15/01/2015 20:11

Glad that it's not just me! I feel rather ungrateful complaining about the NHS as they do such a great job. However the sooner non-invasive foetal testing is available on the NHS the better.

Looking at my risk based on age only, it's 1/350, so I'm guessing that this brought the number down rather than the other things. All just guesswork though!

twinky12 · 15/01/2015 21:11

Just caught up with the new threat. Such sad news for pip

lordy thanku hun much appreciated, hope all goes well with u to, ill be waiting for your update Smile

number love the picture.

So nervous for my scan tomorrow I have a feeling its gonna be a long night.
Any1 using a Doppler? I'm completely frustrated with mine I gave up eventually, the static noise was to much in the end.

naty1 · 15/01/2015 21:16

I think i read its age at delivery that matters.
Also that some use a maximum of 20 the age risk which gives me 35020 which is 7000, my risk was 7002.
I have seen people my age with lower risk though.
I agree i'd like to see the individual numbers.
My risk doubled 32~>35. But also this baby is 4 days large and the last only 2 days so i am assuming this could affect the results, it also seems they now factor in the ivf more
Its good youve already done harmony so you arent going to worry

LizziTea · 15/01/2015 23:06

What a lovely picture, Number!
Broody, we chose not to have the nuchal testing done, actually, but it took a while for Baby to stay still long enough to be measured! After 4 hours of sleep last night I am desperate to sleep, but I have been trying to bake large quantities of cake hampered by pregnancy brain and various distractions, so it looks like I will be up for at least another half hour waiting for everything to finish cooking!
Good luck to everyone awaiting scans and Downs results.

jmojo · 15/01/2015 23:06

I have to say it is interesting to see the results broken down. I had mine done in Central America and they give you the results here. I will give you the break down so you can see. I am 39 when the baby is born, not diabetic, non smoker, I weighed 59kg and caucasian (all factors they use when doing the results). I was 12+1
Age risk 1:131
Nuchal 1:449 (it was 1.2)
Blood 1:16403
When all factors taken as combined risk 1:21946 (Downs)
Edwards syndrome risk 1:4238

So you get an idea how widely the numbers differ!

JoY007 · 16/01/2015 06:51

Arete sorry to hear about your friend, thoughts and prayers with you and her family Flowers

All the best to the ladies with scans today.

It's the end of the week, and I am tired and looking forward to the end of the day already. Missed my train, hoping I can still make the 7.30 Pilates classSad
