Well obviously all of you are out living your lives today (is there one outside of pregnancy!!!!)

But im off now so hope everyone is ok and i want to see some babies born next time i log on please!

Or maybe you have all just managed to doze of to sleep...Hmmm xx

MeAndMyBoys · 22/10/2006 17:17

Wow Welshgal many congratulations on your DD Maddy. Hope you are starting to feel ok after such a panic.

Well have a bit of news myself Sam George born last night at 7.10pm weighting 6lb 4 1/2ozs after a 3 1/2 labour - most of which was done at home.
DH and me a little shocked - 2 weeks early and very quick, but he's cute and a dream so far.

Hoping you and NJ aren't too far behind stacey.

Charleesunnysunsun · 22/10/2006 17:21

LeBe honey don;t worry about grumbling, god knows we all do it enough on here and were all in the same boat so we don;t mind at all.

If i were you i would ring and have a chat with your midwife before you appt becuase of the itching and headaches if nothing else they can check you over for any annoying pregnancy illnesses although it's probably nothing to worry about headaches can be a sign of pre eclampsea and excessive itching can be something aswell although like i say it's probably just horrible pregnant lady troubles.

Your totally normal feeling bored i am and im only 35 +5! You haven't got long though sweetheart, i had no signs of labour at all when i was 40 weeks with ds so no contractions yet is fine. Chin up it will be worth it in the end.

Charleesunnysunsun · 22/10/2006 17:23

Meandmyboys! Congratulations it's like waiting for a bus nothing for ages then 2 at once who's next???? ME ME ME i hope!

LeBe · 22/10/2006 17:28

Congrats Welshgirl (sorry didnt see your message when i posted first time and now meandmyboys. Im so jealous!!!

Charlee - thanks for the advice and kind words, im sure everything is fine it just seems one thing after another and it is getting me down, im hoping for an easy birth after this pg (wishful thinking i imagine) but you never know your luck, really 2 weeks (4 max) isnt to bad so i will try and remain positive.

Keep well everyone, speak soon xx

Kaybee7777 · 22/10/2006 17:29

Congratulations Welshgirl and Meandmyboys Can't believe there were no babies and all of a sudden two have arrived

Welshgal · 22/10/2006 18:07

Thanks for the good wishes everyone, Maddy, her Daddy and I all doing well although the sleep deprivation is a shock to the system!

I was just over 3 weeks early so not too bad. Feels weird in a way to have missed the last bit and the feelings of the onset of labour. And of course all the pushing, of course it is hard recovering from the caeserian and the fact that I was so unwell.

I tell you what though, the breast feeding lark is a lot harder than I thought, I keep getting the midwives to help me with positioning, best tip so far have a pillow to support baby while feeding, it certainly helped Maddy feed for longer periods as sometimes she would feed for 2 mins and finish..

Congrats to you Meandmyboys hope you're doing well.

Mummy2Toby · 22/10/2006 19:27

Wow - congratulations to Welshgal and meandmyboys, it is great news that we now have 2 healthy babys on our thread am a bit though
Well - we have finally finished ds's big boys room and tonight will be his first night in it when the room was finished it made me cry because his little cot bed looks so small but it means if he is coming out of his cot that he is a big boy now and not my baby - hope I don't have to wait too long for the new one I am 39 weeks tomorrow and have another madwife appt, so we shall see what she has to say bt I will probably be 2 weeks late like I was with ds!
Well - I may be up posting at silly o'clock tonight if ds doesn't stay in his bed but I will let you all know how he got on tomorrow. Hope our 2 new mums have a good night - take Care

More Congratulations - how exciting. Well done Meandmyboy(s) - delighted for you and not at all envious of your short labour !

LeBe sorry to hear you are having such a rough time - esp concerned about the itching - def. see someone (mw/doc) as soon as you can in case it is cholestasis of pregnancy - are you jaundiced at all? Don't want to worry you but a friend of mine had it and had a pretty rough time although her and her dd were well she was induced early. A google search will give you more info. Take care and let us know how you go.

Charlee I will be using reuseable nappies (or will be once all the meconium and pooing 6x per day settles down). I use TotsBots which I think are fab (but not keen on the bamboozles cos they seem to take even longer to dry) - its worth investing or borrowing a couple of different kinds as samples (a lot of companies do samples at reduced rates) as all babies are different and what suits one doesn't always suit another. I use fleece liners instead of paper ones but I don't mind sticking my hand down the loo to sluice them through before soaking them. I'm not a saint about it and sometimes use disposables like if I'm behind with the washing or away overnight but ease my concience by using Moltex eco ones.

velcrobott · 22/10/2006 19:49

Wow 2 babies already - well done to the 2 mums
Quick question for some of you... I am 37 weeks and am measuring 33cm. I am tall and slim in the 1st place... MW not overly worried but i did measure more for my 1st two babies...
Anyone in the same boat ?

staceym11 · 22/10/2006 20:19

hi everyone!

oh meandmyboys thats brill news, congrats, glad you happy with a contented baby boy!!

well iv decided its my turn as have been havng contractions since about 2 o-clock, started 20 mins apart, now down to between 10-15 mins apart and are a lot stronger now, but can still talk during them (just!!!). theres no way baby will be born before tomo (even if its really the middle of the night!) which is sorta good as its dds birthday today and i didnt really want her to have to share her birthday poor mite!

will keep you all updated but if theres anyone around when do you think i should head to the hospital.....bearing in mind that we have to deliver dd to my parents house, which is 20/30 mins away and then get to the hospital from there which is another 20/30 mins.........and this is second baby........i want to leave it as late as possible, but obviuosly not too late!!!!

velcrobott · 22/10/2006 20:24

Wow Stacey M... we're due on the same day...no contractions my end !!!!
Can't your parents come to you? I guess I'd head out when they are every 5 mins not any closer !

staceym11 · 22/10/2006 20:26

not really as its acctually on our way to hospital but the hospital is about an hour away from us (as we moved while i was already pg and i didnt wanna change my care over till after the baby born!)

5 mins probably sounds about right, might wait till they been 5 mins for a little while tho.

DebbsyandBibby · 22/10/2006 20:50

Oh my god everyones having babies
good luck Stace xxxxxxxxxxxxx
mandmyboys huge hugs and congratulations to you ive poseted on the veanies thread for details xx
welshgal congratulations on the birth of Maddy love the name

fatbetty · 22/10/2006 20:55

Congratulations Welshgal and meandmyboys on the arrival of your little ones. Gosh, it makes it all seem that much closer now!! I still have 4 weeks left and that seems like eternity.

Velcrobott, I'm the same as you with measuring small. I went in for my 36 week check and the baby is 33cm. They are not overly concerned but said if I'm still measuring small at the next check at 38 weeks then they would do a scan. I'm tall too and most people say that I'm not very big. The MW and my GP said that it's difficult to measure the baby at the best of times because he/she could be curled up. Still it does make you wonder. I never had this with my first two and the MW/GP could usually tell me what the weight was of the baby. Not this time.

CattyB · 22/10/2006 21:31

Its all happening! Good luck Stacey - hope you have a good birth - can't wait to hear your news. I'd wait as long as you feel you can and basically arrive at the hospital in time to push to save any internals or that nonsense. Go for it girl xx

Got a few twinges the other night but nothing happening here - got to say though - that having niggles I was kind of like "Oh, Shi**e got to go through all that again". Its not really that bad but ... anyone else feeling the same? Looking forward to it but also a bit scared. Not that it will be here for at least 10 big sleeps.... thats what the boys reckon anyway.

NatalieJane · 22/10/2006 22:26

Bloomin' 'eck (as they say up here!!) I am away for a day and it all kicks off!!

Huge congratulations to WelshGal and MeandMyBoys (love the subtle name change there!!) We want pictures and details as soon as you are both ready for it please Hope you are both recovering well

MeAndMyBoys · 22/10/2006 23:00

Stacey fingers crossed for you and look forward to reading about your LO very soon. xx

lol NJ. Pics may take a while as I can't find the usb cable for the digital camera.

Details I can do:

Felt my hind waters go in the bath friday night, went to bed and then woke up about 2.30am to realise I was getting occasional contractions, slept on the sofa for the rest of the night. Warned DH when he and DS came down yesterday for breakfast. Went into town with DS for lunch, by then contractions had pretty much stopped. Got home and contractions kicked in again so txt DH to come home from the training course he was on. By the time he got home at 5 contractions were about 3 or 4 mins apart.

We got his mum over very fast, drove to the hospital which is only 5 mins away and by the time we got there I could barely stagger with contractions every couple of minutes. Poor lady on reception thought I was going to deliver on the spot she got very panicked lol. From the time we got into the delivery room to holding DS2 in my arms was 50 minutes . Didn't have time for pain relief and oh boy did it hurt. But felt fantastic afterwards - avoided pph and blood transfusion this time, only a tiny tear with 3 stitches and managed to walk from delivery to the postnatal ward afterwards. Sent home this evening.

Ds2 was very chilled out at the hospital and slept lots - fingers crossed it continues.

H x

MAMBs it sounds like it was a bit of a rush, but perfectly timed in the end! I can't believe you are sat at home with your new little boy How is your DS dealing with the new addition?

Charleesunnysunsun · 23/10/2006 08:31

Morning all

Stacey if your around and not popping out a baby i wish you the best of luck

I really hope this LO is born soon, i know im only 35+6 weeks but god i had the most awful night. The poxy bloody cows behind are house are ALL in labour and making so much flippin racket i couldn't sleep, my eyes were just closing at 7am this morning when DS started wailing, poor thing i went into his room in tears begging him to go to sleep.

I also have a huge wet patch on my pj's sorry if its tmi but i know i haven't wet myself! But its quite a big wet patch but i didn't feel it happening i must have been dozing but nothing else has happened so not sure what it is, i got quite excited at 5am this morning when i thought it might have been my waters leaking! I can't check what colour it was though becuase my pj's are light pink.I have alot of sharp pains in my bladder this morning though so i just hope the water works infection isn't coming back.

I have to go to Iceland today, Luckily it's not raining at the moment it flooded here yesterday. I bet i will come back online later to find you've all had your babies without me!

Do forgive me im in a foul mood, lack of sleep i suppose

FoghornLeghorn · 23/10/2006 08:35

OMG What the hell happened this weekend .

Huge huge congratulations to both of you, I am so jealous .
I don't really have reason to be though, no contractions or horrid uncomfort, just the usual period type pains and a few BH's.

I so badly want this baby to come sooner rather than later and you 2 have given me a little ray of hope - 2 & 3 weeks early WOW!
My MIL was only telling me last night, you wont go early, all 4 of mine were late DH's birthday on 11th so he wants baby to come on the same date.
