Yes - huge congrats to Welshgal and Meandmyboys, i still have 4.5 weeks to go.......yawn, I too want mine to come early - is that bad ? NOt too early, just a week or two would do!

FoghornLeghorn · 23/10/2006 08:38

Oh Chatley, I am in a similar position. When my waters went with DD they didn't have a major pop, just trickled so took me a while to figure out if my waters had actually gone or not.
I have had what I can only describe and a severe increase in discharge (sorry tmi) over the last week or so, I have to keep going to the loo to dry myself but I don't think it is my waters.

FoghornLeghorn · 23/10/2006 08:38

Chatley (blush), I obviously meant Charlee

staceym11 · 23/10/2006 08:46

morning everyone, well as you can see i havnt popped my baby out just yet! contractions made it down to around 7 mins last night and i thought id lay down coz i was knackered and i fell asleep (about midnight) woke up again at half 4 but thats slowed it back down to everyhalf hour or so again. i did this with dd, remember it well, if it speeds up again im not going to bed, i want this baby out, im bored of this all now!

Morning all

Stacey - best of luck today, hope it carries on and doesn't drag too much as that must be knackering.

Charlee....just getting used to the lingo but your post made me lol - (sorry as you sound pretty fed up and sleep deprivation is rubbish) but your account of cows giving birth and then going to Iceland (ok clearly my brain but was thinking bloody hell flying at this stage!) seemed really surreal and brightened my am!

Guys what does lo mean in context of good luck with your lo's?

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 23/10/2006 09:55

Congratulations to the mums with new babies. DP is convinced baby is going to be several weeks early, but no signs yet. Saw Gp again - have to go again on Wednesday - still I suppose it gets me out of the house. BP has dropped slightly - but a trace of protein has been found in my urine (TMI) and I have been told that should I get a headache that lasts more then an hour or see spots in front of my eyes - I must go straight down there (luckily it's only a ten minute waddle away). Or if it's too bad I have to call an number and someone will come round. Can't use swollen ankles as a guide as they seem permenantly swollen these days. Told not to do anything - no sorting out bills, no cleaning house from top to bottom - there's only so many episodes of 'Midsomer Murders' a girl can take! Still at least I'm catching up on my sleep. Baby is fine - appears to be a good size already and very lively - it's pointing in the right direction and is considerate enough to only kick me twice in the night at the acceptable times of just after midnight and just before dawn. By the way -- can anyone remember the thing about the heartbeat? ie what speed sort of indicates a girl and what speed indicates a boy? I've finally got a measurement and I'm curious.

Good luck to all

Little Ones

purpleluce · 23/10/2006 09:57

Oh yes and Charlee ...am assuming your pelvic floor is better than mine if you are confident that the wet patch isn't incontinence It seems to me that when I get up in the night for a wee the baby flies down and slams on my bladder and I am trickling before you know it and certainly before I make the loo!(tmi)

Will have to do some serious pelvic floor work post this baby!

purpleluce · 23/10/2006 10:00

Thanks foghorn

LA

The theory on heart rate is that normal foetal rate is between 120 - 160 ish and lower means boy and higher means girl. I had a higher one with my first and she was a girl and a few midwives do appear to support it.

this one is in the 130's 40's so hedging bets! What rate did you get?

Delia · 23/10/2006 10:36

Congratulations Welshgal and meandmyboys, wow am really happy to see that we have finally got some baby's coming to meet us.

Stacey - good luck am thinking of you.

I feel like stamping my feet and throwing a tantrum cause i want to see my lo now now now! as i keep being told by the family it will come when it's cooked, although i keep getting them telling it not to come on certain days - apparently most of this week is out cause they're all busy (how inconsiderate! )

fatbetty · 23/10/2006 10:44

CattyB, I know what you mean by looking forward to the birth but not the pain. I woke up during the weekend with a horrible period-like pain that lasted about 10 minutes and just thought about my previous births (which I didn't have much in terms of pain relief). I'm dreading the pain but at least I know what to expect.

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 23/10/2006 10:46

Thanks Purpleluce - the measurement today was 135 - so I suppose it's still an either or situation... Everyone I know thinks I will have a boy, but I have a feeling it might be a girl - I suppose only time will tell.

Ah well not long to go now.

NatalieJane · 23/10/2006 11:03

Catty and FB, I know both of your thoughts on this, I was saying yesterday to my DH, I could handle these contractions if I thought for one minute it was doing something down there, but as it turns out, they aren't doing a single thing, so I have now had two weeks of contractions ranging from just niggly pains to full blown stop what I'm doing, can't talk, can't walk ones, all for nothing.

Stacey, I am sure it doesn't feel like it now, but you do know the longer LO stays in there the better. I do really feel for you, I don't know how many times we have been half out of the door these last couple of weeks for it to turn out to be nothing again. It is so frustrating, and most of all dissapointing, at least I do have the added bit of peace of mind because my LO would be a little too early, so when it turns out to be nothing again I do feel a sense of relief as well.

Bit of a question here, but am I the only one who is feeling a little 'fruity' still?! I have started a thread about something and everyone is saying I am mad for still being 'up for it' at this late stage, surely I'm not the only one?!

fatbetty · 23/10/2006 11:21

Last night I was trying to tidy up a bit and I kept having muscle spasms where the leg connects to the pelvis (don't know how to describe the area otherwise!). Is that just part of the body preparing itself for labour. It was really painful but thankfully only lasted for a few seconds.

NJ, I feel the same as you about feeling a little "fruity" but when anything does happen it's just too uncomfortable and ends up being disappointing. Remember feeling the same before DS2 was born. Part of me thinks that I better make the most of it now (and feeling "fruity") because I won't want to do anything after the baby is here. ha ha

i carried on being busy at the weekend, got lots done but still lots to do!!

NatalieJane · 23/10/2006 11:43

OK, way way way TMI coming, I just got out of the shower, dried off went to put my knickers on and realised something is dripping out of me, it is deffo not wee, it is a creamy colour looks like very very runny discharge, is that what it is, or is it more of the show but in a different form, or what?!

Bethbe · 23/10/2006 12:01

Charleesunnysunsun · 23/10/2006 12:08

NJ i have been having the same but on and off, i don;t know what it is! I was told to put on a sanitary towel and see how it goes, if it continues to go to labour ward as it may be waters.

I swear im am either in early labour or have another blaader infection. Was in Iceland paying for the shopping got the biggest wave of nausea and really felt like i was going to flake out. I have been shaking ever since and the contractions have started in my back and stomach again along with really achey hips and pelvis. Im going to see how it goes and go to g.p if it doesnt get better as it's getting more and more painfull ti wee although no more leakages!

God one part of me is thinking i wish this would happen and get it over with, one part of me wants to cry im scared!
I feel really strange today it's hard to explain like something isn't quite right im feeling quite emotional and my headache is lurking again!

So much going on!!!!!!!!!!

NatalieJane · 23/10/2006 12:14

Well it seems to have stopped since I came down and sat down, don't know if I dare go and finish getting ready incase any more comes out! (Don't you love half terms? Look at that 12.13PM and I am still not dressed properly!! )

You will have to keep us updated Charlee, now we have gotten over the first hurdle of a November baby, we will now all be holding out for the live labour of a MN November baby!!

CattyB · 23/10/2006 12:18

NJ - maybe just show or maybe show and a wee bit of "waters" (or shower water - depending on how fruity you were feeling). Show is weird stuff and everyones is different - Wouldn't worry too much about it unless you start contracting strong and long!
I would be well up for sex but DH never really seems to be at this stage (suprisingly enough) plus he's really busy with writing essays for the new MSc he's started and never in bed before I'm asleep (prob on purpose - I might jump him and squash him to death)! Need to tempt him with the promise of a BJ or two !

Charleesunnysunsun · 23/10/2006 12:20

LOL my poor dp would love it if i were feeling 'fruity' it's not that i don;t want to its just so damn uncomfortable and im knackered at night time, poor bloke

NatalieJane · 23/10/2006 12:23

LMAO Catty I am that fruity, but daren't after that thread!! It is like I said, I am as fed up as the next pregnant woman but I do realise that especially to get this home birth, we need to wait a couple of weeks. I think even BJ's and the.... ahem resulting factor of that is a no no, I am sure I read somewhere that sperm taken orally can have more of an effect than if it is taken anywhere else....

My god, these questions and remarks are getting worse...

CattyB · 23/10/2006 12:25

Poor you Charlee - hope this baby doesn't cause you any more hassle - it certainly doesn't like you to be bored does it?

When you hear about MW crises and stuff it does make me glad I'm having a homebirth - will watch it if I get the oppertunity (ie DH is around to read stories and put everyone down).

Live MN labour sounds exciting except for the poor soul who has to type while contracting
