Welcome schmizaj and m0m sorry my PG brain in kicking in and kept forgetting to welcome you!

m0m · 28/09/2006 16:16

Thanks for welcoming me!

NJ, which thread is MN? The thread I read all the time is this thread, mainly because I find the conversion very informative and interesting and I can relate with almost everything you ladies talk about.

NatalieJane · 28/09/2006 16:22

MN is MumsNet as a whole Have a look on the childbirth boards, or ask a new question about VBAC's, I am sure you will get some info that way.

I don't know any stats but I ams ure VBAC's are becoming more and more 'normal'. Obviously your midwife will be able to give you more specific info for you Good luck

HopingCat · 28/09/2006 16:27

Hi to the new people.

I heard that average heart rate for baby is 140, so 148 is great. I also heard that anything above 140 is a girl, and that girl heartbeats sound like a horse galloping.

Sorry to hear about work problems HM. Hope it gets sorted soon.

Charlee - hope your nan is ok. I kind of know what you are going through. My Gran went into hospital last week, they think it may be a stroke. She is my only grandparent, and this is her first great-grand child so I really hope she improves soon to meet this baby. She's quite confused apparently, it's not an easy time. My Mum keeps telling me not to go and visit her because hospitals are full of infections. Not really sure what I'm going to do if she is in there for ages.

For those people who know their babies are dropping into position now, can you feel it happening? I'm getting some weird feelings down below today.

m0m · 28/09/2006 16:39

I will blame my pg brain for not knowing that MN stands for Mumsnet.

Thank you again NJ. I definitely got all the reassurance I need from the childbirth board. Loads of women have had VBAC after c-section so there's actually nothing to worry about.

NatalieJane · 28/09/2006 16:40

HC, sorry to hear about your Nan as well.

Bearing in mind that this is my second baby (so there is a lot more room for movement), I have just been aware of him being down low down sometimes and higher up other times. I don't really feel him moving in and out, but if I find I am breathless just walking around the house (sometimes even just talking knocks the stuffing out of me!!) I guess he is higher up, but then other times I get a very low down feeling and to a much lesser extent but pressure similar to when you need to push during labour.

HC I'm definately having a boy (confirmed by 2 different sonographers) and his heart rate is 148 ! LO's head is not engaged but he is up the right way ! Getting these mild period pains, real pressure on my bladder and some strange feeling in my pelvic area assume this is baby trying to engage.

Hi thanks for all your messages, my nan had a fall and cut her head open but my mum has cleaned her up and out her to bed and she seems fine just a little shaken.

Well ladies im off home in a minute so wish you all a good and comfortable night!

Mygirl - I will send you all some cakes tom not sure what im getting yet but im getting up early and going to tesco so depending on wherther ive woken up or not depends what cakes we will end up with!

Hopingcat - I knew lo had gone down, because whereas before my bump was high and round now it is low and looks saggy, plus i got a big gap between my boobs and bump. Also ive had the period type pains and needing a wee even more often than normal (i thought this was impossible) and feeling like someone is standing on my bladder all the time.

Night x

lebe ill have some of their pink doughnuts ate 3 one after the other on tues yummmy

kelsuprise · 28/09/2006 18:06

Hi ladies
All my preg books say that baby movements should be slowing down a bit now cos there's not much room to move around in there. However, my lo feels like he is constantly 'riverdancing' in there!- Anybody else had movements actually increase dramatically at this stage?

NatalieJane · 28/09/2006 18:09

Kelsurprise I find when LO is high up in my bump he doesn't stop moving, when he goes back down he quietens down a bit, and normally ends up with hiccups!

...not sure if that really answers your question though!

kelsuprise · 28/09/2006 18:18

Thanks NatalieJane
That does make sense actually- do the hiccups your lo gets, feel like a vibrating sensation?!

NatalieJane · 28/09/2006 20:51

I suppose I could describe it as a very slow vibrating sensation, I'd say every 3 or 4 seconds I can feel what feels like a heart beat, that doesn't really describe it either, but really don't know any other way to try and describe it!! LOL

amyjade · 28/09/2006 20:57

Mine has always got hiccups !! to me it feels like a little pulse under the skin every few seconds.

NatalieJane · 28/09/2006 21:00

Yep, that's exactly it!!

Bethbe · 28/09/2006 21:25

Warning - moan coming up!

For two weeks I've knows that I will be going to my DH's boss's leaving do tomorrow evening. My DH is currently out of the country, but just phoned me to say he's on his way home and by the way tomorrow night is a 'Formal' event on a boat!

HELLO!!!! What is wrong with these men.

List of things to do between now and before I have to leave the house tomorrow at 7am for work:::

Shave my legs (takes about 1.5 hours these days), pluck my eyebrows, try on all dresses to see if any of them fit and will do as 'formal', probably iron dress, hunt for matching jewlery, look for shoes that will go, polish shoes that will go, wash hair, trim fringe, wash knickers that won't give me VPL, dry knickers, shave armpits, look for matching hair band/decoration, choose/find matching make-up, look for tights that might fit (or run out in my lunch hour tomorrow to buy some), try to find something that will act as shawl etc as it isn't gonna be warm tomorrow, look for umbrella.

Quick better go.............

staceym11 · 29/09/2006 05:47

hi everyone, as you can tell im nto sleeping again, been trying for over 2 hrs and have now given up!!! my brain keeps ticking over and my body is all itchy, grrrrrrrr want to sleep!!!!!

saralou100 · 29/09/2006 07:45

good moaning!!! my bits hurt.. and my thigghs hurt... i barely slept either last night, now i just wanna lay and veg on the sofa but it's too painful and i can't stand for too long cause it hurts.. oh the joys, maybe baby is dropping!! he/she was kicking around in their rather aggressively last night, i had to tell it off

hi to the new people!!

talking to my sister, she was due in november last year, apparently by now they'd had 2 babies born, so were all doing a good job of keeping these little ones warm and cosy... even if we are moaning about it!!

Debz99 · 29/09/2006 08:24

I'm not sleeping too good either, just keep waking up and turning over, to those not in pain this may seem like a walk in the park, but to those that are, it take 5 attempts to actually start moving then, have to turn over in stages all the while hoping I dont get the shooting pain in my crutch as well as my back ! At present I have a rooled up single duvet and 2 pillows to keep me more vertical, one pillow under the arch in my back and a large cushion to place anywhere that is not comfie ! After I have attempted this mean feat .. takes about 5 mins I am more awake and need a wee !
