oh lebe and FHLH, congrats on finishing work, wish id get the same rest but with a nearly 2 yr old dd it aint gunna happen is it??? lol gunna look into a playschool for her as she wont start nursery till shes nearly 4 and she needs something to occupy her brain, she so intelligent i worry what shes gunna put me through when she bigger!

Charleesunnysunsun · 28/09/2006 13:50

Afternoon ladies and bumps!

I am feeling better today, i put a few drops of pure lavender oil on my pillow last night and it knocked me out right round to 6.45 this morning i didn't even need to wee So i got a much needed rest.

DS had a lovley time at playschool which is also really nice i worry like mad about him as it was only his second day.

Im here at the moment by the way as ds is having a nap and my mums just rushed off as my granddad has phoned becuase my nan's had an accident he didn't say anymore so im praying it's nothing to bad, she is very weak on her legs so has probably fallen, fingers crossed she's ok.

Still nothing from Surestart there bloody annoying me by the time it comes through if it does i will be to big to want to shop!

I have had about 5-6 people comment today that i ahve got loads smaller and i slept all niht on my stomach, i must have rolled onto it in the night but i haven't done that comfortably for months so i figure LO must have moved down.

Nothing else new to report just plodding along day to day, got a load more xmas pressies today everyone thinks im mad!

Delia · 28/09/2006 13:56

welcome schmizajm, you had me woried there for a second! i was trying to work out how much time that gave me from the 3 weeks!

Lebe and FHLH - in case i don't get on before your last day, have fun, eat lots of cake and don't do any work!

Lebe - pop over to your mums and post as often as possible as you will be missed day to day.

jamcrumpet · 28/09/2006 14:00

Hi Ladies,(welcome Schmizaj

A few days away and I've missed loads...love the new thread name, but it's done nothing to stop me being anxious about the birth!

A night without a wee Charleesss? Unheard of, must try that lavender oil!

Bean is still in wrong position but trying to move somewhere, feels like a head is trying to get under my ribs at the minute...which is nice!

Quick random question...what sort of bag do you take into hospital?! What I mean is does it have to be a squishy one (ie hold all) to be able to fit in the cupboards or would a small bag with wheels be OK? Sorry am panicing about everything now!

FoghornLeghorn · 28/09/2006 14:03

Lebe - I work from home so don't have the whole 'goodbye' thing tomorrow - although did have when pg with DD and i was sad. I am still slightly sad, like an end of an era really - have worked since the day i left school so will seem really strange being a SAHM.

Stacey - My DD is 27 months so doubt I will be getting much rest but looking forward to spending lots of time with her before baby arrives.

I have internet at home, so wont be getting rid that easily

How rude of me - welcome schmizajm

Jampcrumpet - don't panic. You take either really. i personally am taking a large sports bag but know people who have taken suitcase on wheels in. There isn't a great deal of room but i slipped my bag and all the present everyone brought under the bed while they weren't being used.

Re the Ring of Fire - I didnt feel it as had an epidural last time but am scared about it as second pregnancy things may happen faster!! My SIL said that ring of fire was an understatement so thats slightly scary!

Going through a bit of a stressful time at the moment. DH handed in his notice 3 months ago (we work for the same company) as he had differences with the MD and tomorrow is his last day. He has not got another job yet (not for want of trying) and was relying on some bonuses that he was due to tide us over until he does. Now the MD is refusing to give him his full bonus and the whole thing is turning into a nightmare. It is really hard as i have to work there too and try to maintain a professional front but am struggling when i feel like the company is totally screwing my DH over!

Just what you need when you are 32 weeks pregnant and looking forward to only receiving SMP in a matter of months.

Anyone got any uplifting words for me to cheer me up?

FoghornLeghorn · 28/09/2006 14:10

Oh Harrogatemum, how shitty I know it doesn't seem like it but everything will work itself out. I've said about it before but my DH lost his job the day I started my mat leave with DD, 2 weeks before her due date - I was terrified but we got through it (plus he got to spend 6 weeks at home with DD before going back to work).

All this ring of fire lark and i'e just realised I didn't have it last time either as I had epidural - starting to wish i didn't name the thread after it now

staceym11 · 28/09/2006 14:18

oh harrogatemum, thats so shit! sorry to hear this! as others have said, im sure it will work out! just keep your fingers crossed and keep trying!

well i phoned the bank and they have cancelled the charge of £39.00 as a 'goodwill' gesture adn sorted all the bank stuff out now, so a little more calm, im always glad when i sort stuff out!

Debz99 · 28/09/2006 14:33

Well the Jan 2007 thread liked the name and popped across to say so LOL ! anyone know what the standard heart rate is for LO's ? mine was 148 yesterday?

harrogatemum · 28/09/2006 14:36

Debz - I'm not sure but i think its faster for girls than boys isnt it? Or is it the other way round?

Thanks Stacey and Foghorn - I am sure all will be fine too but its just a challenging time at present when I could do with eveyrthing calming down!

Debz99 · 28/09/2006 14:48

Think someone said boys is faster but not sure what the norm is !

jamcrumpet · 28/09/2006 14:51

Harrogatemum that is just awful.... I'm sure you'll get through it but can't imagine what you are going through.

I know it's off the theme a bit and don't mean to lower the tone (but Ring of Fire has started something!) but may cheer some of you ladies up.

A lady I work with her daughter is due in jan and is really sick of being told she was 'enormous'. She emailed to say that she was so fed up that to the next person who said it she was going to reply 'Well that's just fine 'cause I have a big foof!!' Not sure she ever used it as a response but it made me smile .

(Thanks for the bag info)

staceym11 · 28/09/2006 15:03

i think boys is faster, mine is aroudn 148 most the time, can vary from 134-160 tho on the two traces iv had done. think 148 is completely normal heartrate.

Debz99 · 28/09/2006 15:11

Thats good thanks Stacey ! I'm getting period pains again but no spotting do I call the hospital or not bother ???

staceym11 · 28/09/2006 15:14

if its just a pain that isnt a 'contraction' doesnt coem and go and isnt too bad i wouldnt personally worry. try having a warmish bath and see if that helps, or hot water bottle, its prob just your body trying to get ready.

DebbsyandBibby · 28/09/2006 15:15

debz to put your mind at rest i would call them
hg what a shame for you ((hugs)) no uplifting words but will a virtual hug do xx

Debz99 · 28/09/2006 15:20

Just concerened now after my MW visit yesterday ! LOL I'm at work so a warm bath and hot water bottle is out of the question, and when I finally get finished I'm meeting my friend who has travelled down from Scotland !

LeBe · 28/09/2006 15:22

Thanks Stacey, ive just said goodbye to one person and he doesnt even work here all the time feeling quite sad now!

Charlee - you lucky, lucky thing getting all that sleep! Hope your Nan is ok.

Thanks Delia - i will have a nice time and eat lots im sure! I will post as much as possible and will let you know when lo arrives but i am gonna miss my daily rants onhere.

FHLH - Im glad you dont have to say goodbye to everyone tom too i think i will probably cry or something embarrassing and hormonal like that.

Harrogatemum - i only have these cheerful words - eat lots of chocolate, it always works for me!

Debz - i think that sounds right, not that im sure on these things but girls heartrates are faster than boys and i think it varies anyway, dont worry x

Debz99 · 28/09/2006 15:25

Thanks Lebe - hope you can keep posting even if its just a weekly update x

m0m · 28/09/2006 15:30

Hello ladies,

It?s my first time chatting on this thread although I feel like I know you all already as I read your chat every now and then. Just didn?t think it was right for me to chat while at work as my office is an open one.

I had my ds, who is now 2.9 through an emergency c.section but this time I want to have a natural delivery. My doctor said it?s possible to have a normal delivery but I don?t know anyone who?s had a cs and a normal birth afterwards. It?s usually the other way round.

I?m slightly worried about this now, do you guys know anyone who?s had a normal birth after cs?

I?m due on 20th nov.

NatalieJane · 28/09/2006 15:33

Debz, the midwife would have said if she wasn't 100% happy with anything, including the heart rate (which from memory is fine anyway!!) But, as I have said before 'mother's instinct' comes into play way before the birth, if you are worried, ring the midwife, that is what she is there for (unless they are like mine and haven't even noticed that I haven't seen them since I was 17 weeks!)

Welcome to schmizaj I have a HUGE holdall thing with wheels (thinking if I am alone at the hospital I can wheel it instead of trying to carry it) hopefully though DH and DS will be sorted out in time so I am not alone!

Charlee, hope your nan is OK.

Harrogatemum, I can imagine how pissed off you must be feeling - and worried, I am sure it will work out well though, these things normally do.

NatalieJane · 28/09/2006 15:35

Hi m0m, I think there are a few girls on MN who have had a VBAC, not sure if anyone on this thread has had one though.

Debz99 · 28/09/2006 15:35

I feel fine and the period type pains are very mild feels like round ligament pains that some of us got at the beginning and a little backache too. I will see how I go later tonight !

FoghornLeghorn · 28/09/2006 15:41

Welcome m0m

OMG - I have just typed a quick email to all of my colleague saying that tomorrow is my last day and a quick goodbye and I have ended up in tears . I seriously can't wait to finish work but i actually feel quite sad too now, have worked here for 6 years and up until 6 months ago was office based with all of my colleague.
