Have been feeling intermittently nauseous all day and have just thrown up! Now completely unsure whether I have DS's tummy bug or whether it's "morning" sickness....hmmmm....would the time of day indicate not pregnancy related or doesn't it work like that?!

Urgh, I have a horrible cold and sore throat. Typical when there is barely anything you can take!

I have yet to make my booking in appointment but they don't do them until 9 weeks here so it won't be for a while.

I have no idea why it's called morning sickness... as you can get sick any the of day!

berylandbetty · 29/09/2014 18:51

So sorry to those that feel sick. I've heard that it can last all day too :(.

I've just started thinking about what excuses I can use over the next few months for why I've switched to decaf (I've snuck it in to the cupboard in the bistro at work at the mo) and why I'm not drinking when seeing friends and fam! Any one have any good excuses?

I'm seeing the Gp on Thurs, I assume they just refer me to the antenatal team in my area who would then arrange the booking appt?

Claire1987bh · 29/09/2014 19:01

I am back! After a bit of a rocky week I had a suspected eptopic due to left hand dull pain. I had this pain since I ovulated ( I always get an ovulation pain and it was on the same side). Anyway gp sent me up to the early pregnancy clinic/ gynaecologist. I had some bloods done and what I can only describe as a life changing moment which I will name " 3 men and a vajayjay" I will never be able to erase this moment from my memory!!! Basically an internal examination ( done like a smear) with a male dr and 2 male trainees and a spotlight. Anyway that was Thursday. Today I had a 5ish week scan. Everything is where it should be but the pain I had been experiencing was a Corpus luteum cyst. This should disappear soon. And I saw the sack but too early to see anything else. A little glimpse of maybe the yolk sack also. So I have another scan booked in for next Thursday. At this point there should be a little bit more to see.

So please ladies please take a moment and picture " 3 men and a vajayjay" Confused

Evening everyone :)

I shall have a look for you elkaay i'm a bit rubbish though! It's definitely all secret stuff?

welcome to the newbies :)

*mrsmiggins I had awful headaches last time too, have had a mild one this time but I will know to it if the bad ones come back, they were horrible! Paracetamol is ok iirc :)

it can happen at any time daisy as Tori said. If i've felt iffy at all it's been in the afternoon/tea time kind of time. I am still waiting for full blown morning sickness. I didn't much enjoy it last time!

sorry you're feeling rough mrsbeebee hope your cold goes away soon!

beryl for not drinking can you go with the sober for october thing? I've seen people mention it on facebook and that's going to be my excuse! Coffee wise I haven't worked it out yet, I have managed to get round it so far by saying i've just had one so no thanks. That's what they've done here re appts, I went to see the gp, who then said it was ok to make an appt with the midwife. At our practice we just go there for midwife appts which is quite handy, then to the local hospital for scans

oh gosh claire That definitely sounds like something you wouldn't forget in a hurry!!

Just been sick loads more, pretty sure it's the bug now, which is somewhat of a relief, although now I'm worrying about the poor little protoperson in my womb and whether it will have any effect on it. Hmm

Daisy17 · 29/09/2014 21:11

Yes, I think sober October has come at a great time for us!

Thanks for the sober October tip Kyz that could be very useful. Make sure you keep your fluids up Daisy, hope you feel better soon x

LouMum14 · 30/09/2014 13:15

I just got my midwife and scan appointments in the post so starting to feel ever so slightly less impatient! :) But by god I am so sick and also covered in painful cystic preggo acne on my face which is just getting worse! :(

Daisy17 · 01/10/2014 17:23

Oh no Lou that sounds horrid! Can docs give you anything?

Rang my GP yesterday as should have been seeing her for appointment to tell her about pregnancy. Very reassuring about the bug, basically said that the embryo would continue taking everything it needed and just leave me feeling worse - nice!! Much better now, though annoying that recovery means returning to "normal" levels of nausea.....

Daisy17 · 01/10/2014 17:26

Also made first midwife appointment for 24th October! Quite lucky as officially I'm aweek more pregnant than I am (five week cycles) so I effectively get to see the midwife at 9 weeks not 10. Result! Although it is annoying they can't take my exact knowledge of date of ovulation and pretty much conception into account. Weird rules!

So today I have my first real " oh my god I am going to be sick" moment. I managed to get through my front door and run as fast as my legs could take me while jumping over the over excited dog who thought it was play time. Confused Wow.

Hi girls, sorry I have been off the radar for a few days, sorry also to those of you who are feeling sick already :-(. I meanwhile spent monday night in a&e with very poorly ds, he is fine now poor darling , but whilst we were there i got properly told off by the peadiatrician for my hacking cough, and told that i had to go to the dr myself! I have had an awful cold, and this awful cough, but was trying to be brave even though I felt terrible.......anyway turns out that I have an upper and lower lung infection, and am actually very poorly! Whoops, who knew ;-). So now I am on very strong antibiotics, safe for the baby, and feel a ton better already! Xx

Swifey · 02/10/2014 00:06

Crikey Tori you will have to carry some sick bags around with you, won't that be elegant ;-)

LouMum14 · 02/10/2014 17:41

Swifey I wish you and ds a speedy recovery! Tori no back pain (touch wood) but definite aching hips yesterday when I went for a decent walk around the park. Sickness hit a point of despair when I was sick about 12 times on Tuesday...along with absolute constant nausea, not one second of reprieve. Managed to speak to doctor and he has prescribed stemetil which I'm happy to say has made a difference today! Father was also staying over yesterday so the cat had to come out the bag. I have very happy grandparents! DH's mother was screaming down the phone when I told her!

berylandbetty · 02/10/2014 19:24

Well I saw my GP today, all went fine though she has I had a 'pregnant look' on my face or that I might work for Jaguar Landrover! Very odd, just have to wait for the midwife appt now.

Daisy I hope the bug has started to clear up?
Swifey I'm glad you are feeling better.
Lou that sounds terrible, 12 times in 1 day! We have told our parents who are also very happy. My brother is over tonight and my Mum really wants me to tell him as she is bursting with the news and they are seeing him tomorrow.
Hope the back pain eases soon Tori.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed really hard that morning sickness is not too bad. Totally dreading that!

MrsMigginslovespies · 03/10/2014 20:32

Evening all, just popping on quickly to say hi and to catch up. Am doing ok but really tired by 4pm, sleep is disturbed at night, boobs are tender and felt bit queasy today. Apart from that, all fine. Oh yeah, my lovely dog is ill with very dodgy tummy now to boot so lots of clearing up. Bleuch.
Will catch up properly when not on phone but waving hello Smile x

Yay! can I join you lovely ladies?
Got 2 faints positives 2 weeks ago and then got 5 negatives. Started feeling sick, had sore boobs and period like pain on sunday so took a test (faint positive again) and took a clear blue on monday and said 3+ weeks :D
Have an appointment with midwife for a week on Tueaday and hopefully an early scan this week as not sure exactly how far i am! eeeek! Exciting!
Is anybody else getting bad period like pains? (this is 2nd pregnancy)

Daisy17 · 04/10/2014 14:59

Wow, Twinkles, what a rollercoaster! You must be thrilled. Welcome to our little thread, plenty of room. Hope your scan is encouraging.

Sick bug passed on from me to poor DP and now appears to have quit the building, thank goodness. Still feeling nauseous nd tired pretty much all day but easier to bear when it's hopefully for a good reason. DP's lovely mum is visiting and helping out loads. She's very excited about potential grandchild no 3 ( her two sons have one each at the moment).
