Mum2kiss my cousin is dreadful for that. Think sending his DD to nursery on the day before Christmas eve with norovirus! Great gift to send home with every kid for Christmas Envy . He's tried to arrange a play date with J when his DD had suspected scarlet fever too Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy . They are the family mucus troopers who give and give!!!! Smile

Right... I am nil by mouth from midnight & require approx 1 1/2 hrs clear of anything before that as I need to take thyroxine. So basically I have 15 mins for an indulgence! Should I have a cup of tea with milk and sugar & a M&S Cornetto ice-cream or will I just have a raspberry leaf tea & behave myself?

Shirehobbit · 03/09/2014 20:50

Brew and Cake every time Grin

Pregnantagain7 · 03/09/2014 20:52

I've written my birth plan and I'm planning to show it to my midwife tomorrow.

Epidural ASAP
Yes to syntometrin
Yes to vitamin k injection

Think that about covers it! Grin

My nursery is starting to look a bit more like a nursery now stood in it tonight and thought shit there is going to be another baby in here soon!!

loulou sorry to hear your dh is being and arse mine is too I just think some men are crap at the whole pregnancy thing. Mine was amazing with the first but as we're on number four I get no special treatment anymore!
Then he watches me give birth and I become a goddess in his eyes again!!

Pregnantagain7 · 03/09/2014 20:53

cj hell yes to tea, cake and ice cream!!

mum2kiss · 03/09/2014 21:01

My midwife said delayed clamping is pretty much routine now as well. I plan to have delayed clamping followed by the injection to deliver placenta.

Your cousin sounds just like mine yellow. This week's gem was that we arranged to take the kids to a spray park today...yesterday she posted on fb that she can't stop projectile vomitting and her kids have headaches....um I think I'll pass on the day out thanks! I can't imagine projectile vomitting at 34 weeks preggers! When I texted her to cancel she said "well the kids seem ok now and I think I've just got food poisoning...". Yeah I think I'll still give it a miss!

ohthegoats · 03/09/2014 21:05

I wrote one with a MW - managed third stage, yes to vitamin K.

Will add some more info with doula's help - mostly about if things go tits up. Boyf to stay with baby whatever. Also, boyf to be given option to cut cord. Boyf to tell me gender.

Everything else is whatever really. Will write that like things to be explained to me, and that am scared of theatre more than scared of pain. It's up to them to ignore that information accordingly.

clops2000 · 03/09/2014 22:08

MW been round and BP fine, wee fine and thinks lights must have been early signs of migraine that never emerged. Have had this before so I guess it was that again, still scary when it was happening though.
Best bit was that she's 85% certain he's now head down and 3/5 engaged! yipeeeeeeeeeee! Still have scan at 38 weeks to check for certain but its lovely news and means I can keep planning for my home birth :)

porcito · 03/09/2014 23:23

Great news clops! Glad it wasn't anything serious.

Thanks everyone for comments and advice yesterday! I have spent my night wallowing in bath salts! me, thanks, I do have the aciclovir so am hoping those will help it go faster. At the end of the day, whatever will be best for the baby, but don't think I'm willing to risk vaginal birth with it being so close. Much more positive about it today though!

I love those star blankets. In the process of giving my mum her list for when she comes out, am definitely adding that. Along with Crunchies, square crisps, Branston pickle mmmm...

There's some great food ideas coming out...much better than my pasta and tinned tomatoes which has become a staple this week. Lazy beast

binkybunny · 04/09/2014 06:04

Aargh first day off and wide awake before 6am Shock. Had awful dreams last night, woke a few times in cold sweats either crying or yelling, not entirely sure what about. Hope this is not how the next few weeks are going to be!

binkybunny · 04/09/2014 06:08

Portico glad you are feeling more positive today and hope your bath salts help. Whatever way our babies arrive I'm sure it will still be amazing.

Hope all goes well for you this morning excited

mrsb87 · 04/09/2014 07:05

Oh my goodness feel like DEATH! As if it isn't cruel enough not being able to sleep properly in this state I've now got a cold. I've been awake half the night either snotting everywhere or seriously painful heartburn. Woke up with head pounding, sore throat and so much mucus you wouldn't believe. Lovely.

ExcitedCJ · 04/09/2014 07:25

Thanks binky I am currently sitting in the waiting area of the EOU wiping sleep from my eyes & trying to summon up some saliva from somewhere! This nil by mouth malarky is pretty tough, just want a mug of tea, instead I will get a big pint of sugar syrup to drink! Confused

mrsb87 · 04/09/2014 07:29

You can have water excited, well I could last week. Avoid getting dehydrated as they won't get much blood from you!

ohthegoats · 04/09/2014 07:49

I found the nil by mouth thing really tough at 23 weeks - now I'd want to kill someone who suggested I didn't eat or drink for 12 hours. I'm so thirsty. Good luck... sort out an iced bun for afterwards (not sure that's in the spirit of the thing, but anyway).

ExcitedCJ · 04/09/2014 07:56

Yuck! Just done the glass of sugar syrup, my mouth is gross, tastes like I have been on a vodka & Iron Bru binge (?!) or something such like, for a week!
Mrsb no water allowed for me, not sure where I am getting this next pee from! Hmm
My blood just keeps on giving - no worries there!
Off to read my Juju Sundin Birth Skills book & wait for next blood test!

ExcitedCJ · 04/09/2014 08:03

I may go mad online shopping waiting here!
If any of you are still deliberating over slings/carriers www.babame.com has a discount code that gives you 10% off for the next few days. Type - Dublin14 in the promotion/discount box at checkout. I just tested it with a Tula Toddler Carrier I am lusting after.
Very reputable supplier & they have a huge range.
A woman in labour has just gone outside for a fag! It will be an interesting couple of hours here!

ohthegoats · 04/09/2014 08:45

Woah... after 8 and a half months of massive constipation, my stomach just did something incredible. Now I'm panicking - a clear out is a potential sign of something right? We're not ready for a baby at home, and I'm not in any way ready at work.... gibber. Let's just hope it didn't like the amount of beetroot I ate last night (although beetroot has never had an effect before)... erk.

ExcitedCJ · 04/09/2014 09:09

Goats beetroot does that to me too! I eat it on a regular basis, love it but very occasionally it will give a good high colonic with no need for a hose! I'm sure you will be good. Have you a bag packed in case?

mrsb87 · 04/09/2014 09:26

Ooh do they test your pee? Mine as blood. Wow I'm surprised they're happy to let a heavily pregnant woman go all that time ever with no water! I would have passed out. I was bad enough without food!

STIGZ · 04/09/2014 09:28

Eeeek goats .,, i would be wondering the same thing Shock how many weeks are you again ?

Loulou888 · 04/09/2014 09:33

All exciting stuff the sooner you end sept/early oct peeps start having babies the sooner it will come around for us end of oct :) I've had enough of being pregnant, still feel like I have an age to go.....

ExcitedCJ · 04/09/2014 09:44

Mrsb I'm gasping! Only 20 mins to go!
I drank 2L before bed last night as I knew if be having problems today. Need a cuppa ASAP!
Loulou I agree - get those babies out of your bellies! I'm requiring a lift of spirits, feel like my day will never come!

fedupofrainydays · 04/09/2014 09:45

So just dropped DH off at station. Hope nothing happens on the baby front whilst he's in Canada for next 5 days.Hmm
My mum is back from holiday so on call jic. Plus she said last night she was giving us a nice chunk of cash for the baby which is great considering all our money has gone on the house recently.
There's usually more signs to labour goats than a poo clear out so I wouldn't worry, probably just the beetroot.

binkybunny · 04/09/2014 09:46

Did anyone else feel a bit miserable on their first morning of mat leave? I've been dying to be off work for ages and now that I am I just feel a bit down. I just read a babycentre email that said something about not just being a partner but being a parent, and I burst into tears. I hate hormones, used to be such a well balanced person!

excited are you still waiting in hospital? Hope you have something gorgeous to eat after.
