A a argyle still haven't had time to catch up today! So tired!

My sis had a baby boy 2 days early 9 lb 5oz! He was not laying in correct position all day and then just before 4pm it all got regular and he was out within half an hour...at home...no midwife! So another quick delivery after the midwife had come and gone expecting it to take all night lol! Both are doing well though and this was baby number 6 for her!! She likes god awful pain way too much!

mum2kiss · 02/09/2014 22:12

A a argyle = Aaaaarrrgh!!!

Shirehobbit · 02/09/2014 22:17

Congratulations to your sister mum2kiss and to you as his auntie! Thanks

I really feel my BH have ramped up a notch in the last couple of days - which is much to the baby's displeasure - so the new pattern is BH followed by a swift kick or uncomfortable stretch from baby. So much fun. Not.

YellowWellies · 02/09/2014 22:21

Awwwww! congrats Mum2! Smile

I'm turning into a heifer... put on about 15kg and am 36 weeks. I tried to convince myself it's baby but given she's tiny, I'll accept it's probably just cheese.

TMI alert here but had a crappy 2 days and if I can't share it here... An STD I got years ago from my ever generous ex (the h one Blush ) has stayed away for 3 years since the first outbreak. Now,at 36 weeks and after all my placenta issues are sorted, the b***d comes back meaning I doubt I'll be able to have vaginal birth anyway in case it harms baby on her way out. Gutted. DP is so supportive but I still feel terrible and worried for the baby in case this stupid thing affects her.

I don't mean to sound like anything is wrong with a c section at all just having a general moan about my body!

porcito · 02/09/2014 22:22

Congrats mum2! Sorry, my self indulgent rant took a while before I read your message!

Shirehobbit · 02/09/2014 22:28

Aw, that's hard Portico Sad
I'm sorry things might not turn out as you'd hoped, but better she's out safely than risk cross infection. I know a few ladies who've had sections for the same reason - is there any chance your flare up will resolve in time?

YellowWellies · 02/09/2014 22:37

Porcito salt baths can make flare ups go very quickly. My brother had a similar leaving gift from an ex - nowt to be embarrassed about xxxx

Congrats mum2.
Gun did you manage to see anyone today? Any more visual disturbance?
Thanks for all the reassurance on the weight thing. Even though this is ds2, I seem to be a lot more anxious this time round.

Lily31 · 02/09/2014 22:59

Evening everyone. Congrats on becoming an auntie mum2

I have put a couple of stone on and I'm 32 weeks, my midwives have all been very relaxed when I've talked to them about weight gain. It doesn't hurt the baby and it's reversible- might take some effort but it's possible. This is what I tell myself anyway.

Been at my first antenatal class tonight. For the first activity DP had to dress a doll in a nappy, vest, grow and hat. We were all told to give words of encouragement. I totally failed and ended up in hysterics after witnessing such a comical attempt. I think I was partly in fear of whether he will manage when lo is here, but also I felt a little bit like I was back at high school being told to behave, which was usually my cue not to. Good times grin

mum2kiss · 02/09/2014 23:03

We had our first nct class last night. I enjoyed it and I think dp did too although he'll never admit it! Looks like a good bunch and only one person was super annoying so everyone just gave his partner sympathetic smiles lol!

Missus2ndwife · 02/09/2014 23:41

Congrats Mum2

Binky - I mostly sleep on my back as bubba doesn't always like me on my side as it squashes him. At the end of the day, as long as you feel ok, you'll be fine

Porcito - sorry you're having a crap day. Ex is a chop

So tonight hubby told me he didn't want to tell his daughter/ ex wife we have nct appointments as it might upset them. FFS!! When will he grow some balls?? #rant

pebble82 · 03/09/2014 00:42

Why when I need to sleep do my legs decide they want to jerk about unnecessarily and my stomach decides to reject acid up into my chest and throat. Not to mention endless toilet trips and pelvic pain every time I move. Oh and that I've hobbled around like a penguin all day because my feet are too big for my shoes so have gouged deep ridges into my toes. Really trying not to be negative but I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself right now and have no one else to rant to. 6 weeks to go (hopefully, maybe even less! Not more, fingers crossed!)

Oh gosh looks like everyone is suffering, you can see why many hit the wall four weeks before due date! Pebble I have the same problem with jerky legs I really won't miss that. Roll on mat leave so I can nap during the day.

We had our first NCT class as well, didn't really learn anything it was more about introductions and group work but everyone is lovely which is a relief.

BingoBango85 · 03/09/2014 07:02

First nct for me also last night. Was ok; hope it gets going a bit more next time. Think it will benefit dp much more than me; I've read far too much already Wink

ohthegoats · 03/09/2014 07:36

I had loads of dreams about being not pregnant last night. They were amazing! I was rolling around in bed... not doing three point turns in bed. Nice.

We had our new bath fitted last yesterday - if I fill it up to the top, I can float in it tummy down. That's going to be great in labour isn't it.

binkybunny · 03/09/2014 07:37

Wish we had nct classes near us, the nearest is about 50 miles away, so we decided a 100 mile round trip wasn't worth it. Our one and only nhs antenatal class is on Saturday, can't believe they are going to get through everything in less than 6 hours!

Went to Lakeland yesterday and bought lots of foil containers to start batch cooking this afternoon. Have sponge cakes and winter chestnut casserole on my list to do first, bit worried I might just eat everything before the baby arrives though I seem to be constantly hungry Shock

I've had a good night's sleep second night in a row, unbelievable and first time it's happened since first tri. DH thinks it's because I'm not stressing about work any more.

Right, off for my last commute into work and half day Grin.

ExcitedCJ · 03/09/2014 07:38

What a shocking night sleep! Woke at 4:00 & have not been back to sleep. My DD then decided at 5:40 she needed a pee & would not go back to sleep. I let my DH deal with it and he is useless at setting boundaries and ensuring that DD knows that it is not OK to be bouncing on her bed at 6am! Sad
I am off today with DD and had planned a lovely day going to museum & out for nice lunch but both of us will not be fit for that now!
Sorry for moaning

Bumpforme2014 · 03/09/2014 07:40

Good luck binky, we also have an NHS antenatal class on Friday which is the only one! Will be interesting to compare that with NCT.

Hopefully I will sleep better when not stressing about work as well, looking forward to my batch cooking, thanks for reminder to get containers!

ExcitedCJ · 03/09/2014 07:40

Binky it is great that you are getting more rest. Enjoy last day. :)

clops2000 · 03/09/2014 07:44

Finished our NCT last week and everyone was really nice - people kept saying how informed I was...obviously spend far too much time on here! Haven't read anything but pregnancy books since January either so am looking forward to some normal books once baby arrives...though I'll probably move onto books about the first year at that point!

Hardly slept a wink last night, carpal tunnel is getting worse every time I fell asleep I woke with such painful throbbing hands and only fix was to sit up and let blood drain back in :(
Going to book a MW appt today if can as not seeing her till next week and swollen hands and feet making me a bit nervous now, would feel better to have some reassurance.

Definite wall being hit by us all isn't there! People need to start having babies to distract us all from the pains of these last few weeks!

Me23 · 03/09/2014 07:45

portico have you been given aciclovir? We give this to women with this condition sometimes as prophalaxis is they are prone to flare ups from 36 weeks. Ask your dr (I know thins may be differenent where you are) as this isn't your first flare up the risk to your baby is very low. Hopefully flare up will clear up soon.

mum2 congrats to your sis I hope she is feeling ok about thinsg as me wasn't there.

clops2000 · 03/09/2014 07:45

And congrats Mum2 - that'll be a great distraction for you in your last few weeks!

STIGZ · 03/09/2014 07:52
