Hiya so this will probably be our last ante natal thread GrinGrin Really hope that our postnatal thread is as busy.
You ladies have been a great support, and it's been fab going through pregnancy with you all. I honestly don't know how I would have got through the last 6 weeks of 4am wakings without you.

I'm not due till 24th and have no signs baby is still coming early so will probably be the last one one here - don't forget me!

Anyway will love you and leave you - actually will now pop back onto our regular thread for a chat Smile

Happy birthing Thanks

hayley try Googling "what does mucus plug look like"? Your description is perfect! Actually, just take my word for it!

I think no-one on a pregnancy thread should ever have to use the acronym TMI. This is the most messy, undignified 9 months I've ever had. Practically everything except for the crying is TMI!

Plate yes to that. Just went for a 1 mile walk round the block. Knackered and aching. Even sitting on the ball seems like hard work.

At least I haven't burst into tears today though!

Howly · 21/07/2014 19:03

Still hanging on here, babyhowly still being stubborn and I'm in the same position as moresnowplease with lots of mild contractions, period pains, cramping and back ache which ramped up at the weekend but amounted to nothing!! And they get worse when I lie down! Anyone know why this is? I'm 39+4 today due Friday and I think they are going to offer me a sweep which I will do! Come on babies!!!

icklekid · 21/07/2014 19:09

auntie yes to finding a way into the moses basket- I find wrapping a muslin round when cuddling/feeding then rocking him away from you as place in to basket. Carry on rocking basket whilst playing white noise... can you tell I've tried a few things?!!

blue yes to changing on bleeds and often unrelated to how much I've done which doesn't make much sense!

plate who know! Who knows!

its time to rest now!

I'm shattered and dh may have to go to work tomorrow. ..This news was met with tears. I need to find a way to get myself to dr if he does as stitches infected and need dressing Sad

Collie1806 · 21/07/2014 19:36

Hi all,

Just wanted to drop by and say baby is here! Zachary arrived yesterday weighing a healthy 8lb.

Induction went well and he was born with forceps and episiotomy (stitches; ouch!).

BF is going ok so far, we're finally getting the hang of latching and managing some longer feeds.
Anyone had issues with bladder control PP? Went to go to the loo before and didn't even make it to the bathroom and I had already started Blush

mupperoon · 21/07/2014 19:41

I've just been stung on the bum by a wasp. Life is so unfair. Luckily it won't be troubling the wasp any more.

mupperoon · 21/07/2014 19:41

Oooh congrats Collie!

MrsA2 · 21/07/2014 19:52

Great news Collie, glad induction went ok for you in the end.

Plate, I know what you mean, I spent many nights hoping not to go into labour so that I could get some sleep!

GrouchyKiwi · 21/07/2014 19:56

Congratulations, collie. Hope you're recovering well. I do recall bladder control problems for the first day or two after DD arrived.

Aw, mupperoon. Hope you're not allergic!

Congratulations Collie and MoreSnow I'm beginning to feel left out of the baby party!

(commiserations about the wasp stung bum mupperoon )

GrouchyKiwi · 21/07/2014 21:59

Yay! Congrats, Moresnow!

It's ok, Plate, I'm still here.

NancyinCali · 21/07/2014 22:18

Congrats moresnow and collie!

I'm still here too plate Grin

ismarah · 21/07/2014 22:19

Congratulations Collie and Snow and everyone else I've missed.

Plate and Kiwi this thread is still more lively than the post-natal one so we'll all keep you company.

I've been trying to get into a routine and recover after having my parents here last week and then escaping the airshow at the weekend. I'm an introvert IRL but quite bolshy with it, obvs. so need peace and quiet to have mental energy which obviously bean rather scuppers, so I'm finding that aspect of parenting rather relentless. But if that's the biggest adjustment then I suspect I have little to complain about..

In other news bean is now registered, at least in the UK, and today after her first vomit she had her first proper bath. She also discovered new notes in her cry and has gone quite piercingly loud. \o/ /o\

BlueC2 · 21/07/2014 22:27

Woohoo! Well done moresnow and collie :) fantastic news

ickle so sorry to hear stitches infected...get some antibiotics pronto!!

Going to try bad nap before the next feed, DD doing so well and done some longer feeds today which has meant some bigger gaps between feeds!

icklekid · 21/07/2014 23:11

Thanks blue been on antibiotics since wed just in case extended an extra 5days just incase and got nurse appointment to apply a dressing tomorrow!

Lots of babies congratulations to you all!

Right time to put theo down and try and sleep!

MrsA2 · 22/07/2014 02:07

Congratulations MoreSnow!

Up feeding but tonight's timings are different as she slept from 9.30-1 so missed the normal late evening feed. Not sure whether that means she'll still want another at 4/5 or will go later, we'll see. In good news, the left latch just went really well, that makes a change! And she seems to have had a really good feed on it.

My boobs are leaking everywhere, I've got through three sets of pads since 9.30. Hoping this is just the milk regulating itself and won't be like this forever?!

Ismarah we did the first bath yesterday, DD looked rather bemused but not bothered about the water. And very cute when all wrapped up in the towel afterwards!

justhayley · 22/07/2014 02:11

Hate when I write a post and then it just vanishes!

Think things may be starting to happen over here - and now iv become quite scared and teary when iv felt super calm & relaxed about the labour process up until now. Think iv just remembered how painful it is.

Thanks for plug advice, i googled mucas plug & the images I got were exactly the same as what iv been losing. Thanks to whoever said to do that I can't think right now.
Since, iv had 4 "contractions" really far apart etc but think my body is getting ready. Iv hardly eaten today & have been having a clear out. Also had backache all day.
Woke up because I was hot and am now laying here with a cross between what feels like a period ache and the need to poo. Also feel quite sick.

Will keep you updated but think I'll be getting a baby either on the 22nd or 23rd.
Place your bets now lol

Big congratulations to moresnow & collie Grin
Moresnow a positive homebirth story in full detail would be great - you must be bored having not much to do right now apart from MN Smile

Ps MrsA your supply will def sort itself out and you'l get to the stage you won't leak or become engorged or even feel full. BF at first is soooooo hard but after a while - for me it was about 8 weeks I think, it becomes the easiest thing in the world & once your able to feed laying down - well you won't even no your doing it Grin

icklekid · 22/07/2014 02:24

mrsa yay for your left boob I normally struggle with right but not tonight! Yay [happy] face!

Is it unusual for boobs not to leak? Mine haven't really?

hayley try and eat something for energy I'm betting on today! Good luck!

BlueC2 · 22/07/2014 02:36

ickle despite hugely abundant milk supply I've never leaked v much. Glad you've got antibiotics but not fun with dressings etc too!

Hayley whoop to things starting to start. remember the beauty of a hb is that the MW will come to you-and even if too early they'll then leave and come back later! Mine wEre excellent! And once I got in the pool things went v quickly.

MrsA2 · 22/07/2014 02:39

Ooh exciting Hayley though do try and eat to get some energy if you can as it sounds like things could be imminent for you. That's good to know about the supply, thanks.

Ickle hurrah for a successful feed!

Well DD seems full up but is now wide awake and just wants cuddles. To be fair, she's bloody gorgeous biased mum alert so that's fine by me, as long as it's not for the whole night!

icklekid · 22/07/2014 03:58

mrsa I had to take theo downstairs because he had fed but was awake, fed some more and was asleep fairly quickly.

Urgh solved engorged right boob by replacing it with engorged left boob! Sad times managed to feed though. Need to try hand expressing during day when not as tired!

blue what will I do with my multipt packs of breast pads!

NancyinCali · 22/07/2014 04:04

Exciting hayley! Get some rest and try to snack on something too.

Re leaky boobs: I hardly leaked at all with DD1 and had loads of breast pads left which I gave away. I've bought reusable ones this time so there's less waste.

Went for a short walk around the block earlier and have been having loads of Braxton hicks since. Still not expecting labour any time soon though!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 22/07/2014 06:43

Congratulations collie and more snow!

Good luck Hayley!

Leo decided to spend the night feeding every 1-2 hours. yawn

I have a question! How do you feed lying down and fall asleep without being scared you'll drop or roll onto the baby?

I can just about manage the side lying position for feeding him with my right side but I'm so tired I'm scared I'll roll onto him in my sleep.
