Hurrah for more ESHlets!

FriendofDorothy · 28/07/2014 13:49

Eliza Gillian Mary - born at 10.13am. My waters went at about 8am and they were still going as she was born. So much fluid. It was unbelievable!!

Got to hospital with a whole hour to spare this time! Had paracetamol and gas and air. A few stitches but hopefully not too bad.

Eliza has quite blue hands and feet and the upper park of her face (?bruising?) but is ok. Had a little feed after delivery but isn't so keen at the mo.

I am slightly in shock. Apart from Dad and sister being away the timing is good. Edward is at the childminder all day.

GingerScouse · 28/07/2014 13:56

Congrats dor!

Looks like it might be me to carry on the PESH tradition of being late Wink

Although I'm still 2 weeks off D-day as it is!

eurochick · 28/07/2014 14:02

Congrats dor! I'm glad the timing worked out ok, although it is a shame that your dad and sister are away. They will have lovely snuggles to come back to!

I'm just back from the hospital. We had another go at bfing (not interested at all this time, but we'll try again later), and KFZK did some Daddy Roo care and she looked so sweet cuddled up against his hairy chest. :) The driving was absolutely fine. It was more comfortable to drive our car with good suspension than to be bounced around in some of the crappy mini cabs we have been in lately!

Hooray dor, congratulations! (And score one for your instincts, you did think it would be this week). Gorgeous name for a gorgeous girl.

Hooray for the driving and KangaDad euro :)

CatsCantFlyFast · 28/07/2014 17:30

Congrats dor. Gorgeous name too xxx

FrankelandFilly · 28/07/2014 19:04

Love the name choice Dor, it's one of our options for E's nickname so I heartily approve Grin

maamalady · 28/07/2014 20:31

Congratulations dor! Thanks

Excellent news, euro, glad you don't have to rely on taxis any more :)

This hospital is roasting!!!

ALittleFaith · 29/07/2014 07:40

Wonderful that you can drive ok euro.

Congratulations Dor! Doesn't surprise me that you had a speedy labour. Hope you're not too sore.

bugs I agree - help is useful but I couldn't be apart from Faithlet in the early weeks. She would cry even when I had a 10 minute bath! If you go, lay down ground rules beforehand!

CuntyChops · 29/07/2014 07:41

Congratulations Dor, that's wonderful news! Grin

Also great news that you're able to drive now Euro and that Centime is gaining weight. I hope they can take the cannula out soon so she'll be more comfortable.

I'm relieved I've made it to 12 weeks! Scan on Thursday but feeling more excited than nervous now. I'm starting to get quite an impressive little bump already, leading to lots of "ooh - twins" type comments Hmm.

FrankelandFilly · 29/07/2014 07:50

Hope you managed to get some rest Dor, the maternity wards are always about 10 degrees hotter than everywhere else!

Thursday will be here before you know it cunty, congrats on 12 weeks!

I had a rotten night's sleep last night, E had me out of bed so many times I lost count. Going to be a long day today, but hope I might fit a nap in at some point.

Thanks for the toe hold Bugs - Hope you get some answers at your scan later.

I can't say I'm not a bit nervous, and I'm trying to convince myself that the crampy pains I'm having this morning are just due to everything stretching. Had kinda foolishly hoped that the menkul might have eased off a bit by now...

Is it true that random strangers rush up to touch the bumps of preggo ladies? Other than wearing a printed t-shirt and facial expression clearly saying 'fuck off,' is there an effective way to deter them?

maamalady · 29/07/2014 09:26

12 weeks is exciting, cunty! Cramps are pretty normal as everything grows and stretches, so try not to worry (easier said than done).

No strangers ever touched my bump or even looked like they might. A few people made conversation about it, offered me seats etc, but on the whole my pregnancy was unremarked upon. I did get complimented for breastfeeding in starbucks at the weekend, though, which was nice but bizarre Grin When we took 6-day old calf to the Tour we stopped in a cafe before coming home and a lady gave her £1, which was again lovely but very odd.

I hated the "shame it's not twins" comments, they just reminded me that I'd had two embryos transferred but had just a singleton pregnancy :(

Good luck with the scan, bugs!

Crap night here too, Frank, the calf didn't seem to know what she wanted. Sleeping on my lap now and I'm scared to move in case I wake her... HOTB has a long work day too so left early and won't be back until later than usual either, so it's feeling like a long slog already, arrgh.

Exactly, bugs, "gold for girls", she said. We're going to get the calf a premium bond with it :) The woman was probably in her late forties/early fifties, though, so hardly elderly. I think she was mostly just very kind! How awful for your grandma :( My gran had several miscarriages between having my mum and my aunt, it doesn't bear thinking about. Stillbirth is a special kind of hell, I can't imagine how dreadful it must feel, especially if the baby is taken from you.

Fankletastic · 29/07/2014 12:57

Huge congrats Dor what a lovely name you've chosen. And what a speedy birth- well done you!

Cunty hurrah for reaching 12 weeks! Toe hold for Thursday. I was so nervous the day of my scan (luckily it was before 9am so didn't have too long to wait) I couldn't look until MG smiled and I knew it was ok. It's so nice to feel the opposite of a bad news scan it's quite inexplicable. We were just so very happy and smiley for days afterwards. I have to say, I have really noticed a huge difference in our happiness levels these past few months. Not surprising really but we had just become so bogged down and negative by infertility that most days were a battle. We were living under a black cloud for over 2 years. I hate that we have had to go through that but maybe it's made us stronger. And we are so very lucky to get a natural bfp. But I know that MG is absolutely 100% there for me in bad times. Now let the good times commence!

Euro so pleased you can drive again and avoid the expensive bumpy Minicab rides. And glad you are healing nicely and centime is getting stronger each day.

Re the kindness of old ladies, my mum is bringing me a blanket that a woman from her church has knitted for baby Fanklet! Already!! I'm only 17 weeks. It's so kind...but I'm also a bit 'isn't that tempting fate'? I'm reluctant to even think about all the necessary purchases. I reckon I'll feel differently once in 3rd trimester.

In other news, I have noticed today that I can rest a mug of tea on my wee bump Grin
