Good luck for tomorrow fifi!

Hayley I'm also getting random shooting pains down below, think it's just the baby moving ever further down and grinding on nerves! It makes me feel like I need the loo constantly and it's really sore whenever I stand up. Hopefully you can sort the tap issue tomorrow.

My upstairs neighbour is obviously also having some kind of sleepless night, lots of random bumps and taps being turned on and off. Thought someone was breaking in when it first woke me up...

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 07/07/2014 03:18

I'm tempted to text my neighbour and ask why the hell she's clattering around at this time of night but I guess a) all my pregnancy insomnia pottering probably keeps her awake at times and b)we're about to subject her to newborn crying for the next however many months...

... But I was asleep for once grrrr! Angry

BlueC2 · 07/07/2014 04:08

Hmmmm think things could be happening here :) strong period like pains coming in wavEs every few minutes which definitely feels reminiscent of with DS. Can't sleep but too drowsy to bounce on the ball so insTead laid in bed listening to DH snore. Pains getting toe-curling at times!

jbiscuits · 07/07/2014 04:15

Fifi - hope all goes well for you today. You'll be enjoying those newborn cuddles before you know it Smile

We are trying to master the sleeping in the crib tonight, rather than our arms, which seems to be going okay so far. He doesn't seem to stop feeding though (although given that he hasn't lost any weight so far isn't surprising.) no wonder I'm tired!

Silly question for all those who've done this before, but any tips on remembering which side you've got to when feeding?

jbiscuits · 07/07/2014 04:17

X-posts. Sounds promising blue. Very exciting!

NancyinCali · 07/07/2014 04:23

blue ooooh sounds promising & exciting!

fifi good luck! Not long until newborn cuddles Smile.

jbiscuits I used to have a bracelet that I'd put on the wrist of the last side I fed from. Or used an iPhone app. But none of that lasted long as I'd forget to use them!

icklekid · 07/07/2014 04:24

Ohhh blue exciting times fingers crossed this is it for you- do you have a tens machine you could use?

fifi good luck today, I think your fears are very normal by the way!

hayley glad your feeling happier after getting those shelves up, hopefully you can get the adaptor sorted and a good chat with dh and then feel as ready as you will ever be to have this baby!

its worth a text to check all was ok but in the morning if you know the neighbour well?

ismarah glad things are improving re breastfeeding I can imagine the feelings of frustration not knowing how much they have had..hopefully supply will build up quickly so you don't need formula as I imagine having to sterilise everything as well as the pain of breastfeeding must be hard work? Well done for persevering (I hope I can@)

Well baby is very low, lots of pain last few days so fingers crossed by Friday (due date) will have this baby. We also dtd yesterday and sexy I did not feel..how ever if it brings about labour I'm all for it! Had a dream I felt baby kick and it's foot was 10cm big - I do think baby will be long (measuring large and tall dh) however I'm hoping for a small head!

icklekid · 07/07/2014 04:27

Biscuits I've also heard people attach something- ribbon/ clip to bra strap last used or the bracelet tip...

Nancy what app did you use?

Love that peak time of this thread is 2-5am!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 07/07/2014 04:45

Ooh blue - sounds exciting, fingers crossed this is it.

ickle - know her fairly well, so will ask if I see her in the morning. She does occasionally end up doing work in the middle of the night sometimes (she's doing a course alongside her job) so am assuming it was just one of those nights for her!

More period pain and BH this morning (1 very strong one!), but I'm not getting my hopes up yet! Fingers crossed for you blue!

NancyinCali · 07/07/2014 04:48

ickle I used ibabylog I think. There are loads to choose from.

icklekid · 07/07/2014 04:51

its I've got very similar regular pains but decided to ignore unless they get worse as had them stop all too often this last week. Got an anti natal gym session at hospital later so that would be ideal timing for something to start (dh would not agree- thursday at the earliest is his line!)

nancy thank you will have a little look and get something downloaded ready me thinks...

Safyre · 07/07/2014 04:53

38 weeks today and lying awake with severe, constant back pain. This is new and not something I had with DS either - fingers crossed that it's this babies way of getting on with things. DS was 10lb at 39 weeks so desperately don't want to go over.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 07/07/2014 05:12

ickle I'm trying to do the same and hoping if I ignore them they'll actually turn into something... :) although DH has a job interview on Thurs so ideally I'd rather things didn't kick off until after that! Pretty sure it's just more gearing up rather than a sign anything's properly kicking off. Hope your ante natal gym session goes well.

Beginning to think late pregnancy is a bit like coming full circle to when we conceived, all this symptom spotting! safrye hope the back pain means something for you.

fifi669 · 07/07/2014 06:48

ickle itsalways blue sounds promising!

Up and dressed after 4 hours sleep, heart bearing like a crazy. We're going in!

BlueC2 · 07/07/2014 07:21

fifi thinking of you-hope all goes well!

Hayley hopefully you made it to morning!

Had to wake DH up at 4am to get bread from the freezer in the garage for me-just so hungry and needed toast! But then managed to sleep a bit. Now woken him again as think we need to get DS to the childminder earlier than usual. Pains definitely getting stronger, longer and I think closer though I'm not formally timing them yet :) V excited we might finally meet bean today :) :)

icklekid · 07/07/2014 07:27

Ohhh blue I really hope so and fifi glad you got some sleep, can't wait to hear the good news!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 07/07/2014 07:45

Sounds really promising blue! Good luck :)

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 07/07/2014 07:47

Oh and exciting stuff fifi! Hope all goes well and exciting that you get to meet your little one today :)

MrsA2 · 07/07/2014 08:28

It's all go here now exciting times. Best of luck Fifi, look forward to hearing your news.

Fingers crossed this is it for you Blue but Hayley I hope your baby behaved and stayed put to give you time to get things sorted.

Good luck to everyone else having early pains and backache too, all sounding very promising.

40+6 and still nothing appears to be happening here. Going for a coffee and a swim and ignoring the fact that this baby is refusing to come and meet us.

BlueC2 · 07/07/2014 08:51

So got DS off to childminders with his overnight bag in case it's needed and we've set up the pool though not filled it yet :) However contractions have slowed right down but hoping once I relax again they'Ll pick back up. Also need to keep DH calm- he's not paniced, I can just feel his tension - need him to have a long hot shower to chill out but can't cos he'Ll use up all the water for the pool!

Hayley if your room is nearly sorted I'd highly recommend getting your pool pumped up and sat there ready so it's one thing less to do on the day.

mrsa2 sorry you're still waiting! Enjoy your swim- I had planned to do that and quiet coffee/wander in town tomorrow!

GrouchyKiwi · 07/07/2014 08:59

All the best, Blue. Hope that all is progressing for you!

safyre Hope either your back has settled or things have started for you too.

fifi Just in case you read this: All the best for today! Hope it all goes well.

Glad you're getting on well with the feeding now, ismarah.

Had a terrible night's sleep. Usually I sleep ok, but last night had severe pains around the bump - ligaments, I think. It was so bad it woke me up and I had to get DH to get painkillers for me. Literally couldn't move without being in agony. And then DD woke up an hour later, thinking it was morning, so she came into our room and I had to take her back to bed. Dozed off and on since then, so tired, but at least the pains have stopped.

Think my bump might be lower down now. It's hard to tell when it's all in front. It's quite sore down below. 3 weeks to go, so I'm not being overly optimistic about meeting the little one soon.

Masses of dishes to do today since we didn't do any over the weekend what slobs. I need a maid.

GrouchyKiwi · 07/07/2014 09:00

Xpost, Blue. At this stage I think my DH would be having a sneaky brandy to calm the nerves. Wink

Ipsumlorem · 07/07/2014 09:28

fifi good luck for today!

ismarah sounds like feeding going well despite any minor drawbacks - find your updates reassuring regards breastfeeding Smile

kiwi we scrubbed house for health visitor (who turned out to be lovely thankfully!) coming on Friday and spent all weekend relaxing/watching movies so will need to do a clear up today!

hayley hope baby stayed put for you last night and you get stuff sorted today.

mrsa im due on saturday and have a feeling im going to go over now - braxton hicks have eased off since ive actually started to relax a bit!

blue hope this is it and you get to meet bean soon Smile Jealous though if it is Envy Spent yesterday telling my bean that it was fine to come out now but she ignored me - clearly stubborn like her father! Grin

Tried a walk yesterday in the hope itd set things off but no joy so cried a little bit - just fed up feeling sick/tired/sore etc and realise it will probably get worse before it gets better but will at least get to finally meet our little girl - suspense is killing me now! Smile

MrsA2 · 07/07/2014 09:35

Ipsum we did a couple of half hour walks yesterday in the hope it'd get things moving - and then I cried too! I'm not bothered about being late but really want to avoid induction and also all family and friends knowing when I'm in labour, which is going to get harder and harder to hide as the dates get later.

Kiwi, I'm all out front too and really don't look like I've dropped at all. The midwife said I was 2/5 on Tuesday and I'm hopeful it's dropped a bit more since but visually looks no different so who knows! Its is right this symptom spotting is as bad as TTC.

Ipsumlorem · 07/07/2014 10:08

mrsa I am worried about having to be induced too. Someone I know was induced and ended up with an EMCS which I would really like to avoid! Of course I know realistically it isnt a given even with an induction and to be fair she recovered fine afterwards and was happy to have baby out and healthy so I know its not the worst outcome but ive never had any surgery before and the thought of it really scares me Sad Fingers crossed babies will make moves to exit on their own and if not inductions will go smoothly!
