Welcome to the 9th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed. :-)

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 24th outing!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

For those not in the know, a viroid is an autocorrected version of 'ladies' from the 1st JS thread, which then stuck.

So, roll call below please, viroids. :-)

Thanks loves...group hug. Thanks It's not me is it?! I just think, who the fuck do you think you are?! They know what we've been through, I mean I had a bloody cancer scare to get here and all they can moan on about is how hard their lives are. Selfish selfish selfish!

They are our age, mid-30s, not 21! I've asked the guy who introduced us to chat it up a bit as he seems to quite enjoy it all and still manages to be in a band and not hate his wife.

And BREEEEEATHE! Thanks for the support. I've bought him two dad books (and more or less read them both already, so shouldn't be too challenging, given all he wants to fucking do is lie in bed & read) so all I need to do is hope he'll flick through them before the big day. xxxxxxxx

JuniDD · 08/07/2014 19:10

And sorry for the swears. Need to work on that IRL too. Blush

RPopz · 08/07/2014 19:24

I love the swears Grin I'm a sweary popz Wink

ZylaB · 08/07/2014 19:55

Hmm, remember I said I have no patience?

Well there's a blood test you can do at home (finger prick) from 9weeks post conception, so 11 weeks pg, that you send off and they tell you baby's gender, 95% accurate.

Tempted...

RPopz · 08/07/2014 19:57

Haha... where did you find that Zyla sounds a tad dubious Wink

ZylaB · 08/07/2014 20:01

Sorry it's 7weeks since conception, so 9 weeks pg.

It's been in the news a few years ago, they can also test for some genetic abnormalities, downs i think, google it :)

The place I looked at was nimble diagnostics

ZylaB · 08/07/2014 20:04

Tho DH has just grumbled and said he wants to do it at the 20weeks scan.... But...I have no patience!!

First appointment tomorrow..

RPopz · 08/07/2014 20:06

Oh, like the Harmony test you mean? No surprise for you then? Grin

RPopz · 08/07/2014 20:06

Haha, men! It is pretty expensive tho I think x

ZylaB · 08/07/2014 20:20

We're definitely finding out, just a case of when :)

RPopz · 08/07/2014 20:48

Aww. Still no idea what we're going to do!

Omg. Someone patted me on the belly today. Couldn't decide if I was pleased or offended haha!

FurryScoob · 08/07/2014 21:03

Hello forfox & congratulations

juni some people are just twats, not a lot you can do other than ignore them. I think men hit a wobbly stage of 'oh shit were having a baby' at some point, DP seemed to just after 12 week scan when he realised there really is a baby in there but he's getting a bit more excited now.

wilmabedrock · 08/07/2014 21:03

Juni ignore the whole fucking lot of them. Some people are definitely not natural parents and also can be quite selfish I think. It is hard work having kids but only a fucking idiot goes into it and thinks their life won't change and then gets annoyed when it does. If you want to spend your life going on spontaneous holidays etc then that's fine and you don't have kids. But if you have chosen to have children then surely you have made the decision not to live like that. Fuck I'm ranting and not making sense.

Basically, although you'll be knackered, you'll love it. I'm really not a wanky, happy, gushing person but you really will start to see the world differently and it's so exciting watching them grow and discover the world around them. I find mumsnet quite negative about parenting, people always going on about the drudgery and monotony of the early years and quite frankly I don't really get it. The way I see it is your own outlook affects everything. If you try and see things through the child's eyes, there can be fun in anything. Obviously sometimes you're knackered and can't be arsed, but it's not like you're doing any harm having a duvet day once in a while.

If the people talking to your DH seriously think the negatives outweigh the positives then I feel sorry for their kids. I always wonder how parents that moan about the simple things would cope if they had a child with special needs. If they could see how really difficult it can be for some families they would get a shock.

Didn't mean that to be so long - sorry.

cookielove · 08/07/2014 21:07

Hello all, I am so tired.

Sorry you your having a tough time juni other people can be crap!

I ended up back in hospital yesterday, with a load of cramps but the baby was fine and I waa checked to see if I could go into pre term labour, I won't!

RPopz · 08/07/2014 21:13

What a great post Wil xx

RPopz · 08/07/2014 21:15

Glad you're ok Cookie x

ZylaB · 08/07/2014 21:17

Glad it's ok cookie :)

Nessalina · 08/07/2014 21:17

What massive tossers Juni!! I'm lucky that me & DH both work with women who have by and large had nothing but good things to say about motherhood. My colleagues have loved telling me how shit pregnancy is mind you... Hmm

Zyla - if you're thinking of doing Harmony/NIFTY testing, if your NHS fetal medicine dept / mat unit offers it and how much for. We were going to go private at a cost of £295, but our hospital did it for £200! Smile Found out gender at week 16, plus reassurance re: genetic stuff.

ZylaB · 08/07/2014 21:39

I might ask, thanks ness !

JuniDD · 08/07/2014 22:08

Aw, cookie, sorry about the cramps & hospital. Hope you're ok & it wasn't too scary. Stay in there a bit longer mini-cookie!

Great post wil, thank you. xxx

The update to all of that is that both of the blokes who were moaning have either apologised or pointed out the good stuff. So I don't need to go mad on FB either (I have never done this but seriously, sometimes people need to be TOLD!).

Mini-Juni has been so active today so that's been nice & not too dragonish either!

Nessalina · 08/07/2014 22:14

X-posted with you there Cookie! How rotten for you! Really glad all is ok xxx

DulcetMoans · 08/07/2014 22:36

I miss you all! Sad It feels like when I got moved down a set in Maths at school. I've got to start again and you are all going to get A*s!

Hope you are all getting on ok. Won't read back too much in case... you know... but hope it's all going well and you are smiling through the aches and pains.

JuniDD · 08/07/2014 22:38

dulcet!! so lovely to see you. How are YOU doing lovely lady? xx

DulcetMoans · 08/07/2014 23:29

Alright thanks juni, getting by at least. Work has been busy so it's been a good distraction. Went back to clinic today to discuss everything and have been put on clomid so just waiting for next cycle to start, but that can take a while from what ive read.

But, yeah, im ok thank you. Only really cry now if I have to say it out loud but there's not really anyone left to tell so should stop that!

Nessalina · 09/07/2014 03:51

Hey! Great to hear from you Dulcet, I we miss you too! Sad Glad to hear the docs have got you straight back in the system and really really hope it's a short wait for you this time xxxxx
