Good luck with you scan OTS, I'm sure everything will be fine.

Cat - don't think that your face will affect your scan tomorrow, it may just affect what you (as in your vision) can see on the screen.

My scan is a week today, getting very excited about it. I just want to be able to tell the world now that I have my bean in my belly.

Good luck to everyone else with their appointments.

Lisa

ImBrian · 28/05/2014 10:55

So sorry to hear that rejjie, look after yourself.

Ots good luck with your scan today.

Somersetgirl1990 · 28/05/2014 11:33

Good luck ots, hope everything's ok! Smile

dottytablecloth · 28/05/2014 11:54

I hope everyone is well today.

I've not been posting for a while as I've been so sick. I went over to the hyperemisis thread and got some fabulous advice there. Am on cyclizine now and it seems to be helping.

I had my first scan yesterday and it was lovely to see the heartbeat. They put me back a week, so I'm 11+2 days now instead of 12+2, biotin really don't think that's right.

I had a horrible experience with the consultant who is trying to force me into vbac so I really felt drained by the end of yesterday.

Hopefully everything will work out.

ots · 28/05/2014 12:22

Its not good news :( . Scan showed that baby hasn't grown at all since the last scan 2 weeks ago, and there's no heartbeat. We're so so sad and shocked :(

Still bleeding a little bit but just want it to start up properly now so its over.

Good luck to you all xxx

So sorry ots, sending you hugs and good thoughts. Hope you are getting lots of support in RL

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 28/05/2014 14:47

I'm so sorry Ots Sad x

My midwife is perfectly happy with me asking for a home birth (last birth was straightforward with no issues) but she keeps going on about a water birth which I really don't want. We'd never fit a birthing pool in my house anyway and tbh I absolutely hated the five seconds I spent in the bath when in labour with ds.

I just want lots of gas and air and to move around my house freely, like I did last time, except without having to endure the car journey to hospital and 3 day wait to get discharged as there wasn't anyone around to let me out!

KateJ28 · 28/05/2014 15:11

Hi everyone, sorry for being MIA for a while - been away for a long weekend for our wedding anniversary which was lovely and so nice to be free of work and being around anybody who I need to try and hide the pg from!

I'm so sorry to come back to catch up on so much sad news Sad - ots and rejjie, I'm so sorry and gutted for you both. I hope you get lots of love, hugs and support and the pain (at least physical) is over ASAP. There is no rhyme and reason for these things.

Emily - sorry to hear your scan wasn't as good as hoped either. When will you find out more?! Are you having another scan soon?!

I had my booking appt with the MW today - she's lovely and says I'll see her the whole way through, until labour anyway, which I'm really pleased about. She's given me her mobile number and said to text or call her with any questions. Had blood tests taken and all the questions asked so hopefully all okay. She's going to give me a call after my 12wk scan on 20th June to see if the heart shaped womb issue the sonographer identified at my 6wk scan is likely to be a problem - it depends on the extent to which my womb is misshapen. If they are concerned I'll need to see the obstetrician.

She was a bit worried about my blood pressure - she took it 3 times and all slightly on the high side, so I'm back to the drs today at 5 to have them look at it again. Guess it's good to be on the safe side, but I hope it's not going to be a big problem Confused.

Hope everyone is beginning to feel any horrid pg symptoms easing!

LittleSarah · 28/05/2014 15:13

Hi pourquoi, I too am not a water birther although my cousin had a pool at home which she really liked. With my home births at the end I was kneeling (leaning on my bed) and quite happy that way, (I did have a bath last time during contractions but seemed to slow things down). My cousin thinks the water birth is less mess to clean but honestly I just got a big plastic sheet plus some old towels/sheets and afterwards the midwife bundles them up and takes them away, no muss, no fuss!

So basically just go with what you are comfortable with. If being able to move around your own home freely is what helps you then I would say stick with it!

Ots I'm so sorry it was bad news Sad hope you're being well looked after xxx

ots · 28/05/2014 15:40

Thanks everyone. DH and I are helping each other through it, its hit him harder than I thought it would. Our parents are being amazing too and we've got DS to keep us going. My parents offered to have him for a few days but I need him here to keep things as normal as possible if that makes sense.
Xx

omama · 28/05/2014 15:45

Oh Ots I'm so sorry it was bad news. Hope you've got lots of IRL support & that its over with quickly & as painlessly as possible. All the best for the future.xxx

whats my midwife was also keen to discuss vbac - seems they are very hot on encouraging this now (she mentioned targets were behind it). Although for me, I am fairly happy to give it a try this time. Last time we discovered ds was breech at 39 weeks so had an ELCS, & it may be silly but afterwards I felt like someone had just handed me this baby & he wasn't really mine - like I hadn't really 'earned' him, because I hadn't laboured whatsoever, iyswim? Possibly crazy, but hey, the pregnant mind thinks crazy irrational thoughts!

I guess I also want to have the best chance of establishing breastfeeding this time - found that really tough last time as milk took a long time to come in & am convinced it was at least in part because ds was evacuated before my body was naturally ready. Fingers crossed baby is the right way round this time. Wink

12+5 today. Scan tomorrow - eek!
