Unfortunately the scan may not give a definite answer ots - when I was scanned due to pain and bleeding the foetus was partially detached and they said it could go either way. The main reason for scanning was to check for an ectopic pregnancy. I'd call the EPC for advice.

Sorry to hear that so many people are going through a tough time at the moment.

Re whether it's worth doing NCT classes - we did them last time and met people who are now good friends. The actual content of the course was a bit rubbish ( would have been better if it had been a midwife rather than a pro-home birth, natural birth person who was somewhat biased) but the people on it made it fun.

ots · 26/05/2014 21:11

Thanks pepsiaddict , I thought that might be the case.I'll ring them in the morning and see what they say. Did a bit of googling (never a good idea at the best of times) and someone from a different forum had said that she had bleeding, and they did an internal examination to check if the cervix was closed. Apparently if its closed it can't be a MC, not sure if this is true though.

Somersetgirl1990 · 26/05/2014 21:23

Hope everything's ok ots, keeping fingers crossed for you xxxx

ots · 26/05/2014 21:43

Thanks Somerset girl . Think I would go crazy withoutthis thread. It hehelps talking to DH but he's obviously worried too, so its nice talking to people who aren't involved, if that makes sense.
No more bleeding since 7ish, so who knows what's going on with my body!

ots · 26/05/2014 21:45

Sorry about typos! Bloody tablet!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 26/05/2014 22:05

Hi polythene girl. I'm ok, away camping at the mo with DP. Feel a lot better than I did. Womens has been ok so far, just busy as you'd expect and there was a long wait when I went for my 8week scan. The sonographer was lovely though. Can imagine it might get a bit conveyor belty at times but I've been treated well so far.

ots · 27/05/2014 07:44

Just called the EPU, they have booked me a scan for tomorrow morning to try and find out whats going on. So nervous! :(

ImBrian · 27/05/2014 08:11

Ots I've got everything crossed for you x

Rejjie · 27/05/2014 08:47

So the bleeding and pain has got worse today and the blood is now red. I'm so scared and my husband is at work in a meeting so I can't get hold of him. I've left a message with my midwife but am sitting here petrified and at a total loss as to what to do. Deep down I'm just so scared that it's a miscarriage.

ots · 27/05/2014 09:12

Really feel for you rejjie - sounds pretty much the same as what I've got. Mine really comes and goes and last night was red but this morning just brown again. Just wish I knew either way.

Can you self refer to the EPU? Or do you have to do it through your MW? When I had brown blood a few weeks ago I phoned the EPU and they got me in for a scan the next day. The same this time, I rang this morning and they straight away booked an appointment. I haven't even spoken to my MW about it (she's on holiday for 2 weeks)
Xxx

CatFaceCrayola · 27/05/2014 10:07

Fingers crossed for everyone! Hope it all works out.

My swollen face was loads better by yesterday afternoon so I (probably stupidly) ignored it thinking it was sorting itself out. When I went to bed my face was back to normal. Woke up and it's huge again :/ got to wait til 12 to try and get a Dr's appointment (stupid bloody system!) And then will have to find someone who can drive me there (or get taxis I guess) as I can't see enough to drive!

Just rang ultrasound and was very very shocked to be offered an appointment for scan on Thursday. Grateful to not have as long to worry about it for!

Sorry to hear your scan didn't go so well emily xx

rejjie I have everything crossed for you, hopefully your midwife will get back to you soon.

ots Good luck with the scan tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is ok.

As for me, symptoms pretty much disappearing at 11+6. Scan is next Monday so just 6 more sleeps. It can't come soon enough to be honest.

One minute I'm positive and confident everything is ok, the next I'm a blubbering wreck worrying about everything. So, all symptoms disappearing apart from the mood swings Wink

Thanks BigHairyLeggedSpider, I'm glad you're feeling better. City have promised they'll call me back this afternoon with my appointment but if they don't I'll be seriously looking into a move to the Women's. My concern is just how far it is from my house! Fx everything will work out for the best.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 27/05/2014 13:38

Hmm I had a little energy boost in the last two weeks but now I'm back to falling asleep in my lunch.

Work is so quiet, I'm tempted to slip away early and go to bed!

ImBrian · 27/05/2014 15:36

Rejjie if all else fails can you not go to a&be? How far on are you?

Chilli my symptoms disappeared about then if not a bit earlier and baby is fine. Something to do with the placenta taking over.

Rejjie · 27/05/2014 16:52

Unfortunately I had a miscarriage today. I thought that when I got to 10 weeks things would be a bit safer but it just obviously wasn't meant to be. My husband and I are supporting each other and now need to move on with our lives.

Health and happiness to you all.

Shanels · 27/05/2014 17:00

Oh rejjie so sorry for your loss- take care. Big hugs x

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 27/05/2014 17:04
