Ohh ellen I was near the 90th percentile would you like some of my bump?! Hope all goes well on wed. My plan is def to rest tonight Thanks for the support still feel stupid but I'm ok and baby is ok! the rest is just money!

AuntieMaggie · 28/04/2014 19:23

Aww ickle hope you're ok. I pranged another car in a car park very early in pregnancy do I know how you feel...

ellen you can have some of my bump too as I was 3 cm over last appt!

HomeIsWhereTheGinIs · 28/04/2014 20:01

Ellen Good luck for Wednesday, I'm sure it'll all turn out fine and you're just lovely and svelte!

Ickle That's rubbish, poor you!

All Thank you for the advice, I'm sorry to be so rubbish at fashion that I need to whine for guidance. I lack the knack that some others have of looking graceful at occasions without dress codes. I am therefore currently shortlisting maxi dresses and cover-ups, having abandoned the idea of a smart jacket on top (which I think would just look odd).

Plate Hah! DH just came home and asked me why I was staring at the wall looking pensive, he laughed his socks off when I asked him what he'd think if I got a floral headdress and tie-died clothing! I might do it now, just to see his face...

Patch Yep, my DH is one for proper attire at all times. It took me years to convince him shorts were acceptable in town!

Ipsum Good point about flounciness! I shall look for a dress with built-in flounce so that I can wear it without feeling too huge. Maybe people will be tricked into thinking it's not me blotting out the sun, it's all of the material...?

I have to say ladies, I really enjoy this thread! You're all lovely! Thank you for the help!

hannahlucyellen · 28/04/2014 20:22

•ellentullo• My bump is small, and was measuring below average last time. I am also a runner, and overall haven't put on a lot of weight, but at 4D scan little boy was very healthy and had meaty looking muscly arms! (The sonographer pointed out!) I'm sure it will all be fine :)

ellentullo · 28/04/2014 21:26

Yes it would be nice if we could share bumps about to even it all out between us. The potential bonus of measuring under is that I get to see baby boy on a scan again so not all bad.

hannah maybe "runners reluctant belly" can be a new medical category

Plateofcrumbs · 29/04/2014 01:46

ellentullo - I'm sure all will be fine with scan - am sure abdominal muscles must make a big difference (alas I have none to speak of)

ickle - so, so rubbish about the car prang. There should be a special clause in insurance policies to make pregnant woman non-liable.

DH's birthday in June and have been musing on whether I can get away with a spa-break as a birthday present? Totally selflessly of course (and I have in no way spent the evening comparing pregnancy packages). DH does love a good hotel and a facial and it might well be our last chance for a while.

Incapinka · 29/04/2014 02:49

Why am I not asleep????????

ZingWatermelon · 29/04/2014 02:52

I'm on Night Owls thread - wanna join?

icklekid · 29/04/2014 05:26

plate do it, most definitely do it!

Sorry zing somehow actually slept 9.30-5 today!!! That's crazy amount of sleep!

ellen good idea to focus on positive, would love to see vaby again if it could be worry free! Oh and money free!

home maxi is def the way to go and agree cardigan better than jacket for more relaxed dress code. Where do you ladies find these smart men? My dh would love less formal- normally have to persuade him to put a tie in his pocket which he will only put on if everyone else is!!!

Incapinka · 29/04/2014 07:18

Will come find you all tonight. This is getting beyond a joke now. I haven't had a full nights sleep since finding out I was pregnant back in November. Each morning DH asks whether I had a better night bless him. At some point irrationality and hormones will affect my normally polite answer!!!

Incapinka · 29/04/2014 07:19

And yes Plate do it. After all the training and cycling surely his body will need to relax Wink

ZingWatermelon · 29/04/2014 09:00

I have a nosebleed.
again.

*plate (

yes, treat yourselves. make the most of it

OP posts:
icklekid · 29/04/2014 09:24

Argh zing I lost track of frequent nose bleeds Sad
I feel awful today so not gone into work, decided better to fully recover then going back for rest of the week and enjoy a bank holiday weekend... Just sat here feeling miserable though so maybe should have gone in where there were no distractions!

BlueC2 · 29/04/2014 12:29

ickle hope you're ok?

Have decided it's 'one of those weeks' here at Casa Blue as our car was broken into last night whilst it was sat on our drive-both my pairs of glasses (which I mostly use for driving hence keeping them in the car) plus our satnav which was in the glove compartment :( sooo frustrating! Got to check insurance when DS goes to sleep and figure out why the car alarm didn't sound :(

In better news I think my cold may finally be on it's way out and the Spatone has been kind to my poor bowels this morning!

Incapinka · 29/04/2014 12:36

Oh Blue that is awful. Makes me so cross. Hope all covered by insurance but grrrrrrr on your behalf.

Ickle hope you feel better soon and know what it's like being miserable.

I am so knackered at the moment and just can't get comfortable. The bump isn't that big but as I am nearly 6' the baby likes to wedge itself under my right rib making breathing and bending difficult and uncomfortable. Couldn't get comfy in bed either. 30 weeks today though so time is ticking onwards. Also feel sorry for myself when DH goes out on Monday evenings straight after he gets back from work to my yoga class. Today he went swimming before work and is off for 90mins on his bike when he gets back.

Plateofcrumbs · 29/04/2014 13:26

Blue the same thing happened to us recently - no visible signs of break-in but the car was unlocked, glove box emptied (including Sat Nav) and alarm hadn't gone off. And I'm convinced we didn't leave the car unlocked, baffling.

Incapinka - DH is full of a horrible cold and generally looking fairly awful and exhausted but he did a 100 mile cycle event at the weekend, gym + run yesterday, gym + cycle today. He really needs to rest, but won't listen to me! It's a form of madness, I swear.

In other news I think my bump has doubled in size in the last 24 hours Confused.

BlueC2 · 29/04/2014 14:18

That's interesting plate just had Police here who are equally baffled. Could really do with a nap but can't as more Police due at some point to do fingerprints. Oh and I woke up this morning with toothache too :( so one side of my mouth now agony...dentist tomorrow! Wondering what else is going to go wrong this week now!

liquidstatehasrisenagain · 29/04/2014 14:31

I was awake till 3am this morning, just could not get comfortable, in the end I went into our bedroom (which we are in the middle of painting) and crashed under the dustsheets on the bed leaving DH in the spare room.

Am knackered! Also still suffereing nose bleeds although not every day thank goodness just once or twice a week. The SpD has eased which is fab.

Baffling about the car Blue. Confused There must be a new method of breaking in where the car alarm does not go off?

Patchwork88 · 29/04/2014 14:32

blue who steals glasses? that's so weird. Hope it all gets sorted quickly though.
Exam number 1 seemed to go okay today despite getting up at the crack.of dawn to avoid too many tube strike related delays.
I have whooping cough vaccine later, anyone had any side effects as am beginning to think I shouldn't have booked it for today when I have another exam tomorrow morning??

icklekid · 29/04/2014 14:39

My whooping cough jab was fine patch just a bit stiff the next day, so have it in your non writing arm!

BlueC2 · 29/04/2014 15:00

Tearful rant alert- so just spoken to car and house/contents insurance people and neither will cover the losses! Car insurance only covers personal possessions if there's damage to the car and/or car was stolen-no damage evident. House/contents won't cover as items were in the car! My prescription glasses fairly useless to anyone else unless they happen to be same prescription as me but will cost £200 minimum to replace and satnav we can manage without but galling as we shouldn't have to!! Can't believe how much we spend on insurance each year and when you need it they can't help!!!

Sorry. Rant over. Just SO frustrated!!

Patchwork88 · 29/04/2014 15:02

ickle.good reminder!!my brain is a bit fried and I hadn't even thought of that and my hand is aching from this morning's writing. Also they still cramp up at night and go dead. Really freaky in the middle of the night, but doesnt seem to make any difference no matter how i arrange the pillows.

icklekid · 29/04/2014 16:30

Oh no blue that is awful that your not covered Sad might not have been worth it after excess and increased premium if that helps at all!

Good luck patch I don't envy you and your exams no surprise that your not thinking about little details!

liquid glad the spd is a bit better, mine is too but hope you get more sleep tonight!

Plateofcrumbs · 29/04/2014 16:30

I'm very impressed the police have been out though Blue - didn't even occur to me to report it to police when it happened to us, I think because we felt more baffled than the victims of a crime, it was more of a slow realisation that actually we probably hadn't left the car unlocked and various things were in fact missing.

Patchwork88 · 29/04/2014 17:11

ickle strange you should say that about missing the little details. have managed to leave hair brush at swimming pool and cardigan on bus/at lunch in the last three days. feel like im going mad but could be just overworked! So gutted about cardigan though. Really hoping it's been.picked up as it's the only one that actually fits!
Not that I need it, have been sooooo hot recently. Anyone else feeling like there's some kind of early heatwave?
