It's so annoying mum2 to have to shop online. I'm really surprised so many shops on the high street don't sell mat clothes only online!

mum2kiss · 06/05/2014 16:45

I know lou it is very annoying! Most shocking to me was that m&s don't sell any mat clothes at all! I thought it was a sure thing!

Me23 · 06/05/2014 16:48

Just adding wee onion and Aisha to the list!
Pebble thanks for adding list would also advise those who don't know infant first aid to learn it.

Hey, I am new to this board and hoped I could join in! I'm sure October 10 and had my 16 week midwife appointment this week. Finally got to heat the heartbeat, which was such a relief! I get kind of anxious leading up to appointments that something will be wrong. Now I get to look forward to my 20 week scan, which is in about 3 weeks. Anyway, hello! I am adding myself to the list... I hope that's OK.

Whoops sorry obv just c&p the last list posters whole post there!

ohthegoats thank you I am now craving a 99!

ohthegoats · 06/05/2014 17:10

ive had mild cramping for a couple of hours today...anyone else had this?!

Almost permanently since before I got pregnant. I've had a few weeks off here and there, but mostly I've had a low ache/crampy feeling the whole time.

Loulou888 · 06/05/2014 17:12

I have too. Although today it's been more twinge like than crampy.

diamondbutterfly · 06/05/2014 17:32

Hi all, adding myself to the list, I seemed to have dropped off.

Had my 16 wk appointment at 17+ 1, feels crazy I won't see midwife until 28 weeks.

Just adding myself at long last and saying hello :-)

I'm due 26th October. I already have a little boy who turns 3 in two weeks but I'm not sure whether we will find out this time what we are having. From a practical point of view and preparing my son for the arrival it would be great to know but I really liked the surprise when we had our son...even if he didn't have a name for 3 days

I live in Cornwall and am opting for a VBAC, possibly at home. Ordered the natal hypnotherapy CD for VBACs last week, picking up a second hand TENS machine tomorrow and have hired a Doula!

Thankfully have my next midwife appointment, 20 week scan and consultant appointment all booked in over the next few weeks

Just wanted to say for people having twice 2nd or more baby and who don't have mw or gp antenatal appt for 22 weeks in their schedule of care you can always see your gp for a routine antenatal appt, I do think 16-28 weeks is a long time to go without a check up. Where I am everyone see gp around 22-25 weeks. We do shared care so a couple of go appts.

Loulou888 · 06/05/2014 19:24

Hi me I go on holiday at 23 weeks so would really like one just before I go or come back. Do I just book a routine appointment with gp and tell him/her what I'm there for upon appointment?

SJH0604 · 06/05/2014 19:33

Hi all,

I'm pleased that the conversation has turned to prams. We looked this weekend and after one hour in the shop, my brain was frazzled! It's so confusing with all the different attachments and that some prams are suitable only for 3/6months plus, so you need to buy a £200 carrycot on top! It's crazy! We focused our attention on the iCandy as we thought the Bugaboo was more expensive out of the two. Anyway, the DH looked online today and the Bugaboo is cheaper by comparison (like for like). We looked at some other makes too, although I was drawn more to the iCandy. Going to look again this weekend and check out some others, including the Bugaboo.

Can anyone else share their experiences/opinions?

fedupofrainydays · 06/05/2014 21:47

Has anyone else had ewcm recently? Really stressed me out today as worried was losing my mucus plug but seems to have stopped and no other mc symptoms so hoping all ok. Some people say it's normal but I usually have milky discharge not the stuff the is like ovulation / the 'show'

ohthegoats · 06/05/2014 22:03

What does ewcm mean?

fedupofrainydays · 06/05/2014 22:08

Sorry posted twice when crashed. Egg white cervical mucus. All long term ttc'ers with know what I'm on about as it's the stuff you produce loads of when ovulating...

Bumpforme2014 · 06/05/2014 22:09

Yes fedup I have had it on and off over last few months, apparently it's normal as it's making your mucus plug.

fedupofrainydays · 06/05/2014 22:10

It's called egg white as it looks a bit like egg whites!

PunkyBubba · 06/05/2014 23:34

Yes to the EWCM, though generally only when going to the loo (sorry if that's TMI) and yes to the crampy feeling today. I haven't felt cramps for ages, so got a bit concerned, but now thinking its bowel related as tummy has been a bit dodgy today (again probably TMI!)

With regards to pushchairs we have the stokke xplory for DS. It was second hand, and Inlaws paid for it. It was a bargain as in really good condition, incredibly sturdy, adjustable handles, and height of seat for baby, also reversible so DS faced us until he was old enough to want to face outwards. Great for use off road which works for us as we live in the country and are always cutting across fields, etc . It has a newborn insert so we never bothered with carry cot. Downside is it is heavy, and takes up the whole boot in our ford focus, but I don't use the bus so not an issue there. DS is 2.5 years old but in clothes for 3-4 year old and still very comfy in it so it's been worth it for us, whereas the stroller his grandparents use for him (mothercare nanu) has looked way too small for months. We also got a 2nd hand stroller (silver cross) for when we went on holiday (as if it got wrecked in the planes hold it was no great loss). That was also much better than the mothercare nanu in our opinion.

How was your first day back at work queen?

Has anyone started looking at car seats yet?

We were going to get the Silver Cross Ventura to go onto the pram chassis but most reviews say their baby outgrew it by 4 months.

Any recommendations for a longer lasting one?

magichandles · 07/05/2014 07:48

We've got the Maxicosi Cabriofix (at least we will when I get it back from my friend) because it attached to the Cameleon chassis. It was fine, although bloody heavy with a baby in it once they get past the tiny baby stage, and lasted both mine until about a year I think.
