Lol hi onion! You sneaked over too?? Grin

weeonion · 04/05/2014 00:29

not so much sneaked random as decided to no longer lurk and finally post as it seems with every new scan I am given an earlier EDD. Consultant today thought i may be as far on as 16 wks so that would put me well into Oct but i am still Hmm due to lmp.

Kirstipops · 04/05/2014 00:34

"Outlaws" lol mum2kiss! hope the MIL doesnt rock over with a big pram-shaped parcel!!

RandomInternetStranger · 04/05/2014 01:06

I'm definitely not due till 1st Nov, but as it's an ELCS they won't leave it till the actual day, they got DD out nearly 3 weeks early due to pre-eclampsia and severe spd & being huge and breach so this one will probably be early. I've been lurking too and only posted once before tonight. Smile

FlipFantasia · 04/05/2014 01:21

Love the Nov ladies joining - welcome! There'll be a huge range of birth dates and we'll all go through some pretty similar stuff, so nice to chat about it here!

Mum2Kiss agree that I hope your Mil doesn't arrive with any pram shaped packages lol. Hope dd is happier about being a big sis now.

Also feeling a fair amount of movement here too - am 17+4 but it's DC 3 and have been feeling movement since 14 weeks. A teeny bit earlier than 2nd time around but ages earlier than 1st time around (was 20+ weeks before I felt anything first time around). Must say I do love feeling movement. Such a special thing, only mothers get to feel it properly even when partners and family and friends can feel it, it's the constant-ness of it. This little growing baby (or babies for some October mums!) with me all day and night...

Though I keep waking up on my right side and feeling guilty and switching back to the left side! It adds to my general rubbish sleeping.

fedupofrainydays · 04/05/2014 08:03

Hi ladies - feeling a bit down about lack of bump / movement today. I can still lie on my front comfortably. Normal? I'm 17 weeks. I have bump when stand up but mostly goes when lie down unless I've a full bladder.

Also sure I felt movement earlier this week and now nothing. Feeling :( today

binkybunny · 04/05/2014 08:37

I have felt fluttery bubble popping things for about two weeks now. DC1 so I"m surprised I can feel movement already. Am 17 +2.

Flip from what I have read the reason they say to sleep on your left is to encourage blood flow to the placenta but sleeping on your right is not doing any harm. The only reason not to sleep on your back is it can make you feel faint.

I cannot sleep on my left. I get really sore hips so I have read everuthing I can find! Dont feel guilty I spent nights fretting!

queenasanti3 · 04/05/2014 08:46

Bump movements are getting me down too, thought I felt a few bubbly movements last week and heard the hearbeat at 16 weeks but haven't really felt anything like proper movement, this is my second and iam almost certain before my 20 week scan last scan last time I was feeling a great deal more.
Hope these next two weeks go really fast so I can get some reassurance everything is ok.

mrsb87 · 04/05/2014 08:48

Oh dear mum2kiss I hope she doesn't carry on like this your whole pregnancy!

I am being brave and having a bbq today! We have lots to do before hand but I think I'm looking forward to it.
Definitely feeling bigger this week, I suppose I should be being 19wks tomorrow! 8days til my next scan, very excited about that!!

fedupofrainydays · 04/05/2014 08:48

It's horrible queen isn't it :(
I am thinking I may get a private scan at 18 wks as my anomaly is not til 21 weeks.

bumpbangbump · 04/05/2014 08:59

To those not feeling anything yet, really don't worry. I didn't feel my first until at least 22 weeks and even then it wasn't that much to start due to anterior placenta. I think sometimes we dismiss things as gas etc when actually it is early movement...

I have felt this one, but not with any regularity!

ExcitedCJ · 04/05/2014 09:39

I can't wait to be off work for 1 yr. Only another 5 months to strike off the calendar! Approx 90 working days!!
I've started sorting out baby clothes already. I have some neutral babygrows & early stuff from DD so this is all in a pile for a non bio wash. All the non neutral gear from DD is in another box for my friends with girls.

If you are not feeling too much movement at the moment it may be that your placenta is at the front & that this is cushioning any kicks. Babybond do a 'just gender' scan for £39, I'm sure you could book this one & then just ask the sonographer not to tell you the sex...

STIGZ · 04/05/2014 10:56

Hey ladies!

I am getting stressed out about movements ! On thursday night i had that popcorn popping feeling for about 20 minz non stop!! Now not felt anything since????

My gender scan is on thursday so atleast i will know if everything is ok?? But i am actually more anxious than excited!

Honestly Cant wait until baby is big enough to be kicking the living daylights out of me... It will give me so much piece of mind!!

tak1ngchances · 04/05/2014 10:57

I think I am feeling movement. Popping and fluttering feelings near mybelly button. It's a bit like TTC though, I want something so much that I can totally imagine symptoms and evidence.

I am 17+3 today. Have a raging sore throat, stuffy nose and woolly head. This is my first cold since getting pregnant so I can't really complain.
Am also still being sick. It was so bad during the week that I turned to the ladies on the hyperemesis thread for support & advice. They are the kindest and loveliest bunch of people, honestly MN at its best.

Our HR colleague at work found me all miserable outside the loo, red in the face from puking with a big nosebleed, and told me to go home and work from there until I am fit or the office.
So I'm working from home all of this coming week which is a blessed relief.

Loving the bank holiday weekend, woooo!!

Kirstipops · 04/05/2014 11:04

My midwife said at my 16wk check that it could be up to 22 weeks before I feel anything, plus I'm cursing this anterior placenta of mine!
fedup I read last night that you can stop lying on your front/back just when it starts to feel uncomfortable for you, everyone is different and tums will feel harder at different times, my sister's bump didn't show or firm up til she was 21 weeks or so.

OP posts:
TroubleAndFyfe · 04/05/2014 12:00

I didn't realise the gender scans were so cheap! £39! Just checked the site to see if there's one near me and there's a scan called 'quick assure' - it's £59 that's what you'd have to get if you didn't want to know the gender I think! I don't think I felt movements until around the 20 week scan last time. Try not to worry, the odds are greatly in your favour that everything's fine!

LondonJen · 04/05/2014 12:19

Bingle that sounds just like what I felt last Sunday! (I was also 16and a half weeks then so also was a bit earlier.) Felt like 3 big bubbles burst in the same place one after the other. Not had anything smilar since tho (1st baby) but felt something less distinctive yesterday.

Fedup sometimes it is too uncomfortable to lie on my front but mostly been fine still (17+4 today). I have been able to sleep on my front the last few nights I think this is down to the new foam mattress dp just bought (he upgraded us to a larger bed since I am going to get so big -any excuse!) it's not as hard as our old one so more comfy and bump/belly sinks in a bit I reckon.

Does everyone have some level of pain between their legs and at top of thighs? I assumed this was normal but now worried about pgp/spd. I am not in agony and I don't think it's in my pubic bone. Any thoughts?

Matildasmam22 · 04/05/2014 13:42

Has anyone ever had an early scan before the 20 week one for reassurance.

I'm really unsettled I lost fluid a couple of weeks ago it was the same day as my consultant appointment so I got it checked the same day and scanned the next day.

Everything looked ok but I can't stop worrying I know it was fluid (my youngest was a thirty weeker caused by membranes rupturing) and I'm really struggling I'm panicking going to sleep in case I wake up in a pool of water again.

Can someone please tell me I'm just being slightly crazy/paranoid.

porcito · 04/05/2014 16:28

Matildasmam, after I fell a few weeks ago, I was terrified I'd lost some fluid. They checked it out, and everything was fine. The doctor told me she'd be able to tell if anything was leaking. I think the chances of it happening are so small this early. If everything was fine at the scan, I'm sure you have nothing to worry about (easy to say, I know!), especially if it hasn't happened again.

I've also felt nothing at 18 weeks...not even the little popcorn things. The old crows at work aren't helping with their 'ohhh, it should be about time you're feeling it kick'. Helpful.

Had a day of ridiculous meltdowns yesterday - DP brought me a McDonalds but with the wrong type of fries (which I'd been thinking about all day). I actually cried over McDonald's fries. A new low. Then I cried more realising what a lunatic b I'd become after he'd gone all the way to fetch it for me. Got to love the hormones!

Matildasmam22 · 04/05/2014 16:46

Thanks for the repley.

I'm nearly 15 weeks so no kicks yet i never felt my first two till after week twenty three.

I'm pleased it's not just me, I'm sure I wasn't this bad with my first two.

Getting the mcdonalds order wrong in my house would be grounds for divorce (if we were married)

I hope the rest of your pregnancy is fall and stress free Thanks

fedupofrainydays · 04/05/2014 16:59

matildasmam I too would have cried over the fries. When you have wanted something all day and then it turns out to be rubbish / the wrong thing.

I've not had a scan but very much considering it for Tuesday as have space at the baby bond near me. Think I'm feeling movement right now - but it could just be wind of course, which it probably is.

Bumpforme2014 · 04/05/2014 17:24

Hi everyone, I am finally feeling back to myself at 17 weeks. I can stay up until midnight now and even managed excercise this morning!

Lots of pulling and stretching pain down there now and very similar to what you describe londonjen. I feel the odd pop here and there but nothing consistent.

Someone noticed I was pregnant for the first time today and it was a man so that made me happy as didn't think I had a bump.

DH and I have decided on a pram already, bugaboo camelon it ticks all our boxes and feels so easy to use/push, anyone got any feedback on this buggy?

ohthegoats · 04/05/2014 17:36

I have had pram/push chair meltdown in Mothercare twice now (overwhelmed by choice!), and have been out all day today checking out every pram or push chair I walk past. I've got a list of 'no' options now at least! Some poor woman getting off a ferry on her own with a toddler and a small in a car seat, onto a slip way in front of loads of people.. two strangers had to step in and help her attach the car seat to the set of wheels. Erk, so that one was a no.

I felt movement last Monday, but nothing since. Things have grown since then though, and it's quite often uncomfy to lie on my stomach - I could, I'd just prefer not to. I sleep on my side, so don't mind too much. I feel weird when I lie on my back now though, which is a bit annoying - reading in bed is now more of a challenge, no tummy and no back = one arm going dead.

fedupofrainydays · 04/05/2014 17:50

No feedback on bugaboo except it's the most expensive! But friends who have they say they are good despite difficulty in putting up sometimes. But that comes with practice.

If all ok with this preg at 21 weeks (scan) I will think about buggies but leaving it til then. We are going second hand tho as it's dc2 and prob not having any more so don't want to spend loads (previous buggy has pretty much died)

Think had some more movement today but not sure of just wind. Still paranoid about bump size and why it's not uncomfy on my front (was one night but not since)

MundayCakes85 · 04/05/2014 18:00

I've already bought a buggy- it's was on offer including the car seat. I got a silver cross wayfarer, it's super light and seems really easy to put together. Now sat in boxes at my mum's house until it's needed Smile
