Oh definitely fedup - not buying anything, even off ebay (which will be the first port of call for everything), until probably nearer 30 weeks. No space in the house for a start. Between now and then we'll be living with a temporary kitchen in the spare room, and no plaster on the walls.

A good thing about today, was that I managed to go for a proper walk. As in, we walked for 4 hours or so, and I didn't flake. Tiny bit slower going up hills due to being out of breath easily, and drank litres of water, but was nice to get out on the coastal path and in some mud again. Bodes well for a weekend in Snowdonia in a few weeks.

magichandles · 04/05/2014 19:28

Bump - I've got the Cameleon and I've been really pleased with it. It still looks as good as new 2 children and 4.5 years later. It is a bit bulky and takes up a bit of room in the boot, but is really nice to push and relatively light for it's sturdiness. It's also fine to put up and down when you get used to it.*

*Disclaimer: I may have cried the first time I tried to go out on my own and couldn't put it up when it was in the boot of the car and refused to leave the house.

Bumpforme2014 · 04/05/2014 20:06

Haha thanks magic I am really excited about it, they have made a few changes to third generation that make it even better. I know it's expensive but it is an investment, will buy it after next scan don't need to get it just yet.

On a separate note, I'm now on day five of steriods and much better thank god. Still not 100% been prescribed asacol also but it's been discontinued so trying to get new prescription.

hefner · 04/05/2014 20:35

I'm getting more of a bump now (19 weeks tomorrow) but it's still quite soft. I can still lie on my front comfortably but it usually makes the baby kick so I worry that it's feeling a bit squashed! I'm trying to sleep on my side but often wake up on my front.

My 20 week scan is next week and I still can't decide whether to find out the gender. I'm very tempted this time.

binkybunny · 04/05/2014 20:49

No feedback on the Bugaboo apart from I couldnt believe how expensive a pram could be Shock

After much deliberation on pram/ buggys we took up our friends offer of the Silver Cross Classic they were giving away. Its a lovely style and not actually as heavy or big as we first thought after trying out lots of others. It also come with a rocking stand to turn it into a moses basket.

So 700 worth of stuff, used a handful of times and we got it for free Grin

Trying to work out what we can spend the money saved on!

LondonJen · 04/05/2014 20:57

Thanks Bump that is massively reassuring. It's hard to know what's normal and what to be concerned about sometimes.

CellyD · 04/05/2014 21:33

LondonJen I have a long history of gammy hips
(surgery, physio, steroids etc...) I find sleeping with a pillow between my thighs takes the pressure off my hips.

mum2kiss · 04/05/2014 22:05

I had he bugaboo bee...loved it...most people I know that opted for bugaboo were pleased with their purchase and also bankrupt!

Dp told his mother today that i want to be involved in choosing the buggy...so we've made a step in the right direction!

Ive been suffering with pgp for 10 weeks now...finally got to speak to the physio department on friday and they hope to get me in for a group appointment within the next 2 weeks!

Not sleeping on the front here and ive had to invest in the genii pillow to try and ease the hip pain!

This pregnancy is kicking my ass!!

pebble82 · 04/05/2014 23:18

My mum has kindly offered to buy our pram so I had a quick look at mamas and papas Sola2. Overwhelmed with the options and what the hell makes one so much more expensive than another. I can't tell the difference a lot of the time.

A friend has also mentioned I might be able to have hers as her son is 5 now but no idea what it is. Something by mothercare I think.

I've had a minor strop tonight after trying on a new bikini for my hols in 2 weeks. There is no way I can wear it in public with all my back fat on show :( Wish my bump was bigger so it was obvious I'm pregnant and not just a roly poly. People are going to point and laugh. (sob sob sob!)

ohthegoats · 04/05/2014 23:27

pebble - just wander around rubbing your belly!

Personally I just let it all hang out when I was away, but since I've got back and am in a normal swimming costume at the gym, I'm very aware of looking fat, not pregnant. Oddly, any back fat has gone (moved to the front), but still.. fat. I decided to go for a bright red polka dot costume and just going for it.

Loulou888 · 05/05/2014 08:27

I've felt the baby move this morning. 16 weeks today but it us my 3rd. No idea what to get re car seats and prams. Do f want to spend a fortune as we ended up with a maclaren stroller when dd was around 8 months as so light and easy in the summer months and barely used a big pushchair.

Loulou888 · 05/05/2014 08:29

Pebble I've opted for a tankini this time far too big to wear a bikini. A lot changes in 2 weeks you may really pop out

Loulou888 · 05/05/2014 08:30

Excuse the typos stupid phone

fedupofrainydays · 05/05/2014 08:51

I'm going on holiday in June when will be 23 /24 weeks and not sure I will brave a bikini! Went on holiday when preg with ds about 16 weeks and I wore one then - still fitted my normal ones. But at 24 weeks I think will go tankini or cossie. Been given a nice polka dot one by my sister.

So day 4 of potty training. More wees in potty now but he doesn't dare do a poo! Not sure what is more testing... Colic when new born or this!! At the mo I say colic but if this carries on it could easily take over...

We too were maclaren fans - particularly when popping out to the park / picnics / holidays abroad. Still use ours now. I also know lots of others with expensive buggies who also sacked them off in favour of 'easy' maclarens. But they don't work so well at the beginning as baby can't sit up and support it's neck. I remember buying my maclaren as I won £500 of shopping vouchers from bounty - yes somehow I did!!! Unheard of! But was a massive financial help with clothes and buggy and breast pads!!! I also got some new jeans when i slimmed down.

DH was feeling amorous this morning - made him clean his teeth before he was allowed near me!! Stinky breath is such a turn off.

Told DH I was worried again about the baby - he was a bit despairing of me - thinks I need to just relax about it and he thinks it's all fine Hmm he's probably right but I can't stop feeling anxious.

mum2kiss · 05/05/2014 09:30

fedup I call it the curse of motherhood - to continually worry until the end of your days!

I agree about wanting to downsize the buggy once baby weighs more than a stone! That why I want the cybex callisto! It does carry cot, travel system then straight into maclaren style umbrella buggy...I hope I dont have to stamp my feet too much to get it! Although I guess if I do compromise on something else we wont have to pay for it and then I can just swap to a maclaren next year ;)

Dp has man flu again! Happy bank holiday!

mum2kiss · 05/05/2014 09:41

My midwife mentioned the whooping cough vaccine during my appointment. Are any of you planjing on getting it? Is it safe?! I'm worried that they dont know enough about it and the possible long term effects of administering it before birth!

Me23 · 05/05/2014 10:21

magic I may have also ended up in a fit of tears my first time trying to venture out with Ds and unable to unfold chassis! The cameleon looks great but I found it too cumbersome after baby stage, took up a lot of boot space felt big in shops and took up a lot of space on bus. The price is extortionate! I would never buy new I couldn't justify the expense. Though if your planning on 2 or more it probably is a good buy.

It's babyjogger city mini for me am going to reuse Ds one for this baby (secretly I want to upgrade it to gt but not sure I can't justify it)

Here is some info about whooping cough www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/whooping-cough-vaccination-pregnant.aspx

bumpbangbump · 05/05/2014 10:34

I have the baby jogger too and it's been fantastic. I'm the only person I know who's had only one buggy. I would recommend trying of lots before you buy anything. Everyone has different requirements so what works for one might not for another. The baby jogger has only one height so if you and partner are vastly different in heights it might not be best iyswim.

ohthegoats · 05/05/2014 10:35

It's baby jogger city mini for me

I did some reading on stuff last night, and think I'm going that way too. The only actual thing I want is ONE handle, not two separate ones. I can't steer buggies with one handle due to being a bit of a mal-co.

Also, needs to be able to clip the maxi cosi car seat to it (which it does), because that's the one I'm being given by SIL.

Loulou888 · 05/05/2014 10:36

That's how far I willbe fedup when we go on holiday hoping bump growth will slow down a bit!

ohthegoats · 05/05/2014 10:37

The baby jogger has only one height so if you and partner are vastly different in heights it might not be best

Oh arse, back to the drawing board. I'm 5ft, he's 6ft. Ha.

Me23 · 05/05/2014 10:56

ohthegoats don't let that put you off, try it out. I'm 5.1 and OH is 6.3 and we don't hae any problems with the handle.

ohthegoats · 05/05/2014 11:16

Oh yeah, we've not been in to try anything out, because we both sort of have minor meltdowns about the choice and cost of the choice... ridiculous. We'll go to Mothercare or John Lewis and wheel them around a bit. Then buy off ebay.

fedupofrainydays · 05/05/2014 11:33

Oooh not thought of baby jogger before and looks good and easy to fold / useable from birth. Do you know if you can use a buggy board with it for ds? Also compared to others it's a bargain- even if new compared to others out there!

ohthegoats · 05/05/2014 11:37

it's a bargain

Yep. On ebay they are looking around the £150 mark too, so really not bad.
