noimagination80 · 01/05/2014 19:01

Just ate a whole family bag of sweet and salty popcorn.......I feel equal measures of shame and pride Grin

How's everyone doing?

RandomInternetStranger · 01/05/2014 19:24

Hallo!! Just popping my head in from the November thread as I think I'll be early as usual and being due on 1st November I feel quite far ahead of some of the ladies due towards the end of the month, and I was just wondering if there are any Surrey October mums to be? It would be nice to know some local mums! If it's OK with everyone I may stick my head in here now and then as well as November! Smile

fatpony · 01/05/2014 19:38

I've been away for three weeks on holiday - got to tell my parents in person about the baby which was great (they live far from us). Since I got back on Sunday night my belly has increased rapidly, so strange! It was flat with no bump and now there is a hard bump. I've also been getting sudden sharp pains which I think is all the bits growing and stretching. It's really brought it home to me that I am pregnant - I was one with zero symptoms and this week I feel tired and have the bigger belly :)

Kirstipops · 01/05/2014 19:48

Yep mum2kiss less of the "old", I'm 33 too ;)
Hiya random, I'm same as you, on the cusp of October really, scan had my EDD as 27th September but I reckon I'll be in October!
Welcome home fatpony, my DH reckons bump has got far bigger this week, feeling jabby pains too, still looking forward to flutters and kicks!

Hi Random I'm in Surrey and due 28 October so just a few days before you. I'm feeling quite late on this thread so I can relate!

fedupofrainydays · 01/05/2014 20:09

random I'm Surrey too. Due 10 oct. And likely to be on time - ds was anyway!

Feeling rough today. So tired after really hard week at work. And hardly seen DH as he's been at work even later than me. Bring on maternity leave. 4 months to go. (Am finishing end of aug - even if this preg doesn't work out)

Watching Masterchef. Hmmmmm foooooooooooood. Can't stop eating. Cheese.

TroubleAndFyfe · 01/05/2014 20:21

They all appear to be in Scotland stigz, thanks though. Hopefully baby will be compliant and I won't need it!

TroubleAndFyfe · 01/05/2014 20:22

noimagination I really really want popcorn now!

overthinker88 · 01/05/2014 20:32

Waiting on my dominos pizza to arrive… just paid full price for the first time in forever as I'm too lazy/hungry to go and pick it up and couldn't find any vouchers online…. craving much?!!!

mum2kiss · 01/05/2014 20:59

Lol I didnt say I AM old...I just said I feel old lol! My body feels stiff and old lol! After I had dc1 I felt like an 80 yr old woman for a few months so I guess thats just how pregnancy makes my body feel!

pebble82 · 01/05/2014 21:01

Argh I lost you all after not logging in for days. Glad I've found the thread again. Almost ordered pizza too tonight but found leftover spag bol in the freezer. I've got a wedding to go to tomorrow and nothing appropriate I own fits. Do you think they'll mind if I turn up on a onesie??

STIGZ · 01/05/2014 21:33

diamond i got lots of braxton hicks last time aswell but cant quite remember when they started last time!

But yeah that is the sensation im feeling! i will mention to midwife when i eventually see her again!!

STIGZ · 01/05/2014 21:38

trouble i hope your baba behaves for scan !! ( and mine too(",)

This time next week i will (hopefully) know if im team pink again or team blue!!

feeling anxious/excited/nervous still hoping everyting still looks ok !!

ExcitedCJ · 02/05/2014 00:02

Hello ya all. I'm home from my travels & I am delighted, all my letters are through from hospital for blood results, appointments etc. all good with everything. Looking forward to my 16 wk appt next week. I can feel little movements and kicks a few times a day.
On the name front my husband keeps suggesting names like Rudolph, Obidiah, Clarence & Walter. Fine names as they are he seems to think old & grand is the way to name the baby!!

SJH0604 · 02/05/2014 06:58

I had my 16 week appointment on Wednesday and heard the heartbeat, which was great! I asked about the gender theory with the galloping horse/train and she said it was nonsense!!

What happened at everyone else's 16w appt? She listened for the heartbeat, went through my blood and urine results, which were fine, and took my blood pressure. No urine or blood was taken (quite relieved about the blood) but I thought she would have weighed me. Can anyone shed light on these appointments?

Good luck to everyone with their scans coming up! I'm sure it must be an anxious and exciting time all at once!

bumpbangbump · 02/05/2014 07:10

Having the worst week I think I've ever had. Looks like I'm going to be made redundant! Feel like all this stress is going to make the baby have a nervous disposition.

Glad to hear about all the good 16 week checks. I think it's unlikely you'll be weighed again at all. The only thing they did at mine that was different to yours as sjh, was check my urine.

Let's hope I can avoid crying at work today.

Happy three day weekend people. Think I may eat myself into a food coma!

MrsDinoRawr · 02/05/2014 07:13

I had my 16 week appointment on Wed too. Sounds like everything was the same except she asked if i had brought a urine sample with me. Umm had no idea I was supposed too. Did one there then she made me take it home... told me to wash it out and reuse it!

MrsDinoRawr · 02/05/2014 07:14

So sorry to hear that bump. Will you still get maternity leave?

puppythedog · 02/05/2014 07:19

Really sorry to read that Bump not good.

I hope some light arrives on your horizon.

tothesea27 · 02/05/2014 07:29

I had my 16 week appointment on Tuesday. It was really short -- just blood results, then a urine sample and she took my blood pressure. Then she listened for the baby's heartbeat and that was it.

@mrsdino, same here! I was apparently supposed to bring a sample with me! Um, what? No one said anything about that before I showed up! Still, lucky me, I got a brand new vial thing to use next time, haha.

bumpbangbump · 02/05/2014 07:43

Thanks guys, it's all pretty unclear at the moment. 30 consultation so I guess things could change, but the exec are a bunch of self serving money grabbers who are more interested in their own legacy than in supporting our most vulnerable learners. So out with support services and in with more layers of bs beauracracy!

Off to work I go with a smile on my face

ExcitedCJ · 02/05/2014 07:44

Has anyone not put on much weight? I've only gained 1lb if that as I wasn't too sure my weight at the start. I'm starting to get a little concerned. With my DD I had gained at least 8 lbs by this stage.

Kirstipops · 02/05/2014 07:54

Yep my 16 week check sounds about the same as most others, check bp, go over previous blood results, check the heartbeat, urine sample check (at my hospital they just give me a sample bottle on arrival at my appointment to wizz into, glad I don't have to do it at home as I would be that guy who has a leaky sample bottle and soaks their bag!!).
Bump what a shitty time to get such news, FX'd for you and hope you don't feel too stressed about it all yet.

CellyD · 02/05/2014 08:21

Bump that's really stressful. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that the exec team see sense.

Had my 16 week appointment on Wed. I had urine test, blood pressure check and a chat but no heartbeat check. I was a little disappointed as I had assumed there would be one. I think I had the heartbeat checked with DD at 16 weeks. My MW said its hospital policy not to do a check until 24 weeks.

I think I've felt some movement but sometime the hormones kick in and I fear the worst. I'll just have to wait 3 weeks for my anomaly scan to be sure the bean still hanging on it there.
