loulou and bump, I'm still being sick every day and I'm 18 wks on Monday! I'm currently trying to half my ondansatron to 4mg/day. I'm not sure how it's working out though as I'm on day 3 and really nauseous and off food again. The past week I've been soooooo hungry all the time!

fedupofrainydays · 25/04/2014 20:40

Oh I really want a hunk of buffalo mozzerella!!

ohthegoats · 25/04/2014 20:43

I'm zonked by 8.30 most nights - in bed by 9, asleep by 9.30. BUT, awake at 6am, as is the BF because that's his natural waking time, so at least we get a bit of that nice 'bed time' type chat together (and the obvious other bed time thing too). I'm quite enjoying being so tired, but I'm not even slightly trying to have a normal social life - hermits are us quite frankly. It's lovely!

binkybunny · 25/04/2014 20:48

Anyone looking for cheapy mat clothes New Look seem to be still having a sale (near us anyway!) Got a long sleeved and a short sleeved top as well as a wrap around jumper that will be ideal for BF. All 3 came to 20 Smile

Bumpforme2014 · 25/04/2014 20:50

MrsB I don't know how you have coped you defo have it worse then us all.

Loulou888 · 25/04/2014 20:56

Oh mrsb it's so horrible I really feel for you. I did have it until 18 weeks with dc1 (dd) I kept hoping this time around it would be less like ds but perhaps I get it worse with girls...... Hope you feel better soon far further on than me it's about time you enjoyed your first pregnancy xx

binkybunny · 25/04/2014 20:58

Oh Mrsb just seen your message. Poor you :-( I really hope you and everyone else starts feeling better soon.

These might cheer you up... Baby converse so cute just got to get a pair! www.next.co.uk/g7q158s6

LondonJen · 25/04/2014 21:06

Mmmm pizza and chips, lovely! I had fish and chips but had to have salad and lashings of mayo too as am obsessed with those recently.

Really sorry for those being sick. Your stories of being dismissed by Dr's are outrageous! I am so mad for you.

I feel my uterus every morning before I get up now! After accidentally discovering the rock hard top of it a bit below my belly button about a week ago. Every morning I seem to wake up on my back and between my hips is a rounded bump. It feels really hard all along the top of it. Not remotely obvious once I stand up though!

MrsDinoRawr · 25/04/2014 22:09

Loving the talk of food... just wish I felt like eating some! Everything tastes so horrible when it comes back up that sometimes I end up with my head over the toilet and tears streaming out of my eyes. Bit dramatic - but I am so fed up of the sickness!

The only food I appear to be able to keep down on my really sick days are McDonalds. My husband went out and bought one for me today. Had been sick loads of times today but I haven't been sick since I ate that. Just worried that I am not eating very healthily.

The thing that upsets me the most is that my Mom seems to be ignoring the fact I am throwing up. I think she thinks I am high maintenance and making it up - see hasn't once asked me how I am feeling this week. Every conversation is just about her :(

How do all of your bumps feel? I was a size 14/16 before I got pregnant and had some belly fat anyway. I seem to have a bump forming. When I stand up it is really firm and round above my belly button but a little softer below my belly button. Not sure if this is ok! I know my uterus hasn't gone above my belly button yet... wonder why it is so hard?!?

ohthegoats · 25/04/2014 22:09

Well, on top of yesterday's friend getting upset on the phone about how we can't go drinking, I just had a response email to another friend who I normally see quite often, but never phone cos she's so busy.

She and I were supposed to be spending some time together in Cornwall in the summer - it's my family's place, so she and I have been there a lot. I'm going for two weeks anyway, was booked before I was pregnant. She was coming down for about 5 days of it - but has now just cancelled since 'Don't worry about keeping me occupied, I'm sure you'll want to spend time with your mum'. Erm, my mum isn't coming, it's ME. I'll be 29 weeks, I plan on doing my normal walking (slower perhaps), swimming, eating and drinking, but apparently only with my mum for company. Ha.

This is where having most of my closer friends 40+, single and unhappy about their childlessness, is going to be a disadvantage in trying to lead any semblance of normal life until the baby arrives. Feels weird.

ohthegoats · 25/04/2014 22:11

wonder why it is so hard?!?

I wondered if it was my stomach - it's higher than normal, and things hardened up after I ate, then softened again after awhile.

FlipFantasia · 25/04/2014 22:30

Sorry to mrsb and Dino and everyone else still being sick. It is rubbish and I hope it improves soon. I've not been sick since 13 weeks and am so happy about it (had a d&v 24 bug last weekend which was grim though - never got the d with all the morning sickness and puking!).

Goats sorry to hear your friends are acting upset & odd. Hope they get over it soon!

My bump is also hard above belly button and softer below (I can feel my womb which I love to do - such an amazing thing!). I think it must be because the womb is pushing things like intestines up and out of the way. Tis the only thing I can think of since the stomach is just not that big...

Mum2kiss it's good that your dd feels able to be honest about not being happy about the baby. She's so young herself that the things she says aren't like an adult. Just keep listening to her and including her and pointing out how lucky the baby will be to have such a brilliant big sis. My sis has 6 years between her first two and they are great pals now - he was smitten from when she was born but he was horrified by Breastfeeding (on the phone he told me 'you do not want to know how she's being fed! - it was hard to not snort with laughter!). He used to make sure whoever was holding her minded her head and things (was also funny when it was to the grannies! They thought it was sweet).

Off to the beach in Delaware tomorrow. Will be nice to have a long weekend (dh had no time off for Easter).

porcito · 25/04/2014 23:02

I'm still convinced my bump is bloating, it varies from soft to hard so have given up prodding it as it just makes me worried.

sorry to hear about your dd mum2kiss, and your friends goats. In my social group, absolutely nobody is remotely ready to have children, they're all either much younger and not interested, or lifelong travellers and also not interested. Normal life for us mainly revolved around drinking, so now I'm pretty much at leper status! At least I have my old boss to socialise with...

mum2kiss · 26/04/2014 06:25

dino im a size 16 and my tum is softer below belly button but very firm above...must be because uterus is shoving everything up!

flip thats reassuring to hear. Dd hasnt quite got used to dp living with us yet ( he moved in in January) and now this bombshell. Her mummy is slowly being divided across more and more people and she doesn't like it!

My sympathy to all those being sick. I've only puked once this pregnancy and I thought it was horrific! I cant imagine how you feel :(

No real cravings here...just a desire to eat something specific then once I have it I never want it again!

Is anyone else getting rib pain? Its almost like a bruised aching kind of feeling...ive assumed that they are opening up to make room for baby?

Kirstipops · 26/04/2014 08:24

mum2kiss I have rib pain at times but only in the morning from lying on my side, I also usually wake with crampy aches in one of my knees, but it seems to be right into the very bones of me! Once I've been on my feet for a while I'm fine though.
Hope you all have a nice weekend planned, lazy day today for me then heading out as DH's band has a gig tonight. The vibrations from his bass drum go right for my gut, I have wondered how much bump enjoys this!
Ohthegoats, is the heparin you are taking in injection form, if you don't mind me asking? My preggo friend is on daily clexane injections as she previously had DVT, she's also still being sick every day at 17 weeks, poor girl isn't having it easy at all! This is dc2 for her so she has the foresight to be pragmatic, knowing it's for a good cause and well worth it in the end :)

mum2kiss · 26/04/2014 09:22

Dd is at a birthday party from 12-4pm today (the kids mother must be nuts!) And we're off into town to buy her much needed new clothes. She's grown out of everything!

Hope you all have a good weekend :)

mrsb87 · 26/04/2014 09:28

Morning guys! I'm coping with the sickness quite well now, I have my little routines worked out around for it so I'm actually able to get on with my life a bit better. Although I'm not sure halving my message is working out as I kept waking up with almost unbearable nausea overnight.

I was a size 16 before being pg and I am the same as you mum2kiss. Above my belly button it's almost solid now. Feels strange!

Kirstipops · 26/04/2014 10:12

Just thinking, if our uteruses (uterii !!?) are working their way upwards then they will be squishing our internal organs upwards as well like Flip says, plus if you have a short torso that will prob make it feel harder too? I seem to feel firmer at the sides than at the front!

OP posts:
TroubleAndFyfe · 26/04/2014 10:15

My tummy is much softer under my belly button too. I looked at a drawing today on one of my apps (17 weeks today) and it shows the uterus in that bit, the intestines above the belly button and the stomach around the bottom of the rib cage so it makes sense why it's so solid up there!
We have friends coming to stay this afternoon, trying to work out what to do with them as the weather's a bit grotty. DH is cleaning and tidying the whole house and prepping dinner this morning (well, he cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms last night) so I'm getting out of the way with DS soon and going over to my mum's. Should be a nice restful morning as my DS wants Granny to do everything, not Mummy! Grin

ohthegoats · 26/04/2014 11:33

Firm sides here too - that's only happened in the last few days though.

Minor buggy related meltdown just occurred in Mothercare. We just popped into try some out because we'll get it off ebay (or hopefully from friends), but aaaaagh. Too many choices, too much money.. do I want a buggy or a carrier thing, why have the buggies got MASSIVE wheels? How much time do people really spend off road with them?

mum2kiss · 26/04/2014 13:43

goats if there was one piece of advice I would give to a new mother regarding travel I would say get the carry car seat and base to clip it into the car. In the early days there seem to lots of clinic/ doctors appointments to attend and it is soooo much easier if you can unclip the car seat from the car and clip it straight onto the chassis...baby will be undisturbed and your sanity will remain intact! All the other stuff is just down to personal preference. Personally I would never want a buggy where you have to take the seat off to fold it....highly annoying!

ExcitedCJ · 26/04/2014 15:25

I'm not minding this pregnancy lark now! I've got some nice maternity gear, nausea has almost stopped & I'm getting a second wind. The trouble I have today is that I soooo want a large goblet of red wine nay a bottle!

TroubleAndFyfe · 26/04/2014 17:59

ohthegoats by 'carrier thing' do you mean a carry cot that goes on the buggy wheels or a sling/baby carrier that you wear? Most people find they don't use the carry cot as the car seat is so much easier (as below) and found it a waste of money.

I can totally relate to still feeling sick.Have been very nauseous, vomiting and faint since week 6(now on week 17) have been unable to work as just way too ill..it's been hell to be honest, have to keep reminding myself of the little baba at the end which I'm very excited about..it's my first! My blood pressure is very low which is probably why I feel so faint.I never realised pregnancy could make people feel so awful! Its very slowly starting to ease..I'm really hoping by week 20 i will be able to have a normal life again!
