Excited what is your OH talking about, you're teeny! I overheard DH on the phone to my MIL, her asking "How's Kirstin, is she putting on weight?" My moodiness took this to mean that she sees me turning into a proper fat gannet, regardless of any of it being a bump, DH however laughed and carefully said "She's getting a wee bump aye"...so he's currently safe! In proper nesting mode, he's spent the weekend fixing our shed, painting the garden fence and wants to start freshening up the decking tomorrow. I want to start on our bedroom but guess the Scottish good weather only lasts a few days at a time so i suppose he's right to grab the chance while he can.

Hasnt the Scottish weather been amazing kirsti. We are supposed to be packing. Moving in one month and away next weekend but spent all weekend out and about instead. We too have decided to make the most of it while it lasts... This could be summer Wink

ExcitedCJ · 20/04/2014 19:07

binky I'm feeling the same about meat. Was a dedicated meat-a-holic & now it is making me feel a little queasy. Lamb lunch today too & could not stomach at all, ate 3 roasties & heaps of peas & carrots. The thought of a nut roast has me salivating! :)

binkybunny · 20/04/2014 19:10

me my sister lives in Henley on Thames and communted by train into London until recently. It's a lovely place and they are planning on starting a family soon. Lots of their friends have kids and there seems to be tons to do for familes. Dont know if its in the right area you are looking for though my London geography isnt great!

ExcitedCJ · 20/04/2014 19:11

Thanks Kirstin that improved my mood, had a slight hump all day! Just ate a 99 in the sunshine after a gorgeous walk on the beach, so that helped too. Weather in N.I fab too! :)

binkybunny · 20/04/2014 19:14

CJ I managed to eat the first lot of meat in ages. Slow roast lamb with balsamic glaze and I actually enjoyed it so not totally veggie yet!

STIGZ · 20/04/2014 19:46

cj i think your wee bump is lovely - its looks better than my stomach before i got pregnant, lol!

I am too off meat & veggies.. Had a salad for the first time today!! Not had had one since i found out i was pregnant!

I am craving weird combinations like pickles, sweets(chewits, skittles etc) poppadoms & spiced onions and chips & curry sauce lol but not at the same time!

Still taking my pre nat vits as i dont think im getting enough nutrients from the foods im eating which is basically carbs :(

However my nails are growing really fast and they are alot stronger ... Hope that pregnancy glow follows as im getting spots which i dont normally get!! .,, thats probz my chips n curry to blame!

Enjoy scottish weather while it lasts - i am trying to get my years worth of vitamin D while i can !!

Loulou888 · 20/04/2014 20:05

Is anyone suffering with painful wind? Didn't really have this with my previous pregnancies. I was awake most of last night with a painful stomach. Finally managed to go thismorning then felt stomach achy again. Tmi I know but seem to be getting over sickness to feel poorly with something else.

Grannyapple · 20/04/2014 20:23

me23 we live in Bromley so on the London/Kent border, so not surrey
But defo outer London area. Has good schools, lots of green spaces, we've found it really family friendly & loads of parks & green spaces. Plus we're only 17 mins from Victoria stn/Central London & still easy to escape to the Kent countryside or anywhere else around the m25 really. We really like it.

Grannyapple · 20/04/2014 20:30

kirsti been jealous of your weather this w/e Grin. Tho sis was visiting this w/e & said Thursdays weather up the road was a bit hairy when we had 20 degrees down here so I think it's even Stevens Grin

robindeer · 20/04/2014 21:06

I've just had a bit of a wobbler when I realised that I currently neither feel sick nor do I have heartburn. I'm just about 13 weeks- somebody please reassure me!

Also, should I buy a doppler or is that just going to feed the anxiety?

fedupofrainydays · 20/04/2014 22:12

me we live in Walton on Thames and it's very family friendly - all round here is. We moved out when preg with my son. Farnham is also popular at mo for people moving out of London. Everyone who lives in WOT seems to have moved from balham, clapham, earlsfield etc etc! Only prob is that it's baby boom zone and school places get competitive! We love it here tho.

fedupofrainydays · 20/04/2014 22:15

Also Essex way at the mo you can get a lot of house and garden for your £.

fedupofrainydays · 20/04/2014 22:19

robin I wouldn't get a Doppler. If stressing you should phone up mw and ask for a quick check (obviously need to be after 16 weeks tho as they won't listen before then)

I also feel much less preg now. Just tiredness and some sore boobs and a growing belly keepinge thinking I am still preg. I'm 15 weeks. Also really went off meat but managed some lamb today for Easter!! Beef definately still a no no and don't get me started with fish

Hope everyone is doing ok and not too many wobbles.

puppythedog · 20/04/2014 22:21

We're in Colchester, plenty of people commute from here, I have for training. I couldn't be arsed with an hour on the train but it seems a nice town. I have noticed that the south east seems geared up for people to live a while away and train it in.

STIGZ xx

LondonJen · 20/04/2014 23:11

Stigz I am totally mad for fruity sweets too, loving the rowntrees pack with fruit gums, pastilles and tooty fruities in particular. Also wine gums. Going to rot my teeth!

Am starting to get back into meat slowly and actually enjoyed some beef today. Still struggling with veggies, they are too bitter (brocolli) or too sweet (parsnips) -usually I love my veg. Instead I have wanted salad.

I think both sweets and salad cravings are supposed to be old wives tales for having a girl?!

Ah, love seeing all the bumps! Mine is teeny (assuming you don't count the massive food belly above it, which is vast!) I can feel it's grown a lot though in the last few days but only when I am laid on my back in bed, can feel hard round bump. Love it!

Sounds like you might be over the worst Robin Easter Smile

Sorry Loulou no experience of trapped wind (I have become something of a belch monster myself, it's gross) is there something you can take? I think I read rennies are ok in pg?

Loulou888 · 21/04/2014 07:35

Thanks londonjen that made me smile. Pain has subsided. I didn't realise trapped wind could be so painful. Wouldn't wish that on anyone. I'm going to pop into boots and ask a pharmacist what I can take so I've got it in standby incase it happens again.

FrauEnglischLehrerin · 21/04/2014 08:19

puppy growing your own food is addictive Smile. I started off last year with a couple of blueberry bushes and four squash plants (which took over the garden) and this year I've added two more blueberries and am planning to have strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes, chillies, kohl rabi, beetroot, potatoes and cucamelons... DH is putting up with the forest of seedlings in the living room quite well! It really is great for kids as well - I lost dd for a few minutes yesterday and after running around the house for a while spotted her trotting down the garden path nibbling a chive!

ohthegoats I'm pescetarian and DH eats meat. DD also eats meat, as it would be very difficult to organise meals at kindergarten otherwise. I think she may well choose to be vegetarian in the end, as she sometimes says that she doesn't eat meat, or that her play food sausages are vege sausages.

binky as a long term non-meat eater I don't really do Sunday roasts. If I'm invited to PIL's for the German equivalent then MIL usually makes mushrooms with a creamy sauce and I eat that and fried sliced dumplings. DH and I sometimes make homemade tuna pasties and serve those with roast pots and veg, otherwise baked camembert (with cranberry sauce) would go well, or you could do spicy beanburgers (without the bread bun).

I'm also feeling decidedly un-pregnant atm. Trying to suppress the urge to ask DH to scan the foetus and check it's still ok want to hold out until next weekend.

ohthegoats · 21/04/2014 08:35

I put on a normal dress over leggings today, and definitely look (slightly) pregnant. Things have changed quite a lot while I was wearing bikinis and sarongs for two weeks!

Loulou I had trapped wind for the first 11 weeks. It was agony, I'd spend a lot of time massaging my tummy trying to get it to move, lying on my right hand side burping etc. Then I started eating all bran, which is horrible, but it's stopped all gut issues. Things move pretty well. I now avoid all stodge type things too - bread, pasta, potatoes etc, and it's even better. I'm glad it's getting warmer weather, I'm going to be all about the salad and fruit.

fedupofrainydays · 21/04/2014 08:39

loulou you can take 'windeeze' when preg. And it does what it says on the packet!! I too have experience the pain of trapped wind and it's bad. I had it after a flight once and now always take windeeze so it doesn't happen again!! Tmi probably but pregnancy is not glamourous!!

Loulou888 · 21/04/2014 09:05

Thanks for the info Ohthegoats we had a takeaway pizza I'm blaming it on that! I will get some of that thanks fedup. Being pregnant certainly isn't glamorous!

I have forgotten who asked but dh is pescatarian and I eat meat. We have decided our baby will grow up eating some meat to make life a little easier but when they are old enough they can make their own decision. I generally don't cook a lot of meat at home but will sometimes make myself a sausage sandwich or something.
Dh was brought up vegetarian and his whole family are too. I'm sure I will get some stick for it when the time comes but its a decision we have made together and isn't anything to do with her!
